Dude, your better off playing safe by Odining back to an earlier build before el29 I believe and using a usb jig, also recommend using chris41g method to rid triangle.. Here's link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297999&highlight=triangle
I recommend this way atleast until devs check it out and our device is supported

doesnt look like it would work for us yet.. but it's possible in the future.
this is a very interesting find.. and something like this light be used to finally find our hidden modem partitions.

We have alpha CM9 which is using a patched up GB kernel. This requires a ICS kernel and is very risky right now.
Cool cool.....maybe when the official ICS gets released or leaked

the way I have reset my counter was flashing the eg31 bootloader. that way using a usb jig works again.
I hope that some easier alternative (not that obtaining a jig is difficult) will present itself in the form of a recovery image that includes a kernel with a executable script to "remove" or at least hide that horrid triangle that appears during the initial booting process.

"horrid triangle"? It looks fine ,in fact "pretty". I honestly cant imagine why people are obsessed with getting rid of the triangle. Its harmless!
On a slightly different subject, I dont know why people always get rid if bootup sounds. Whats wrong with those either?

Says the guy with 3 thanks and 62 posts. I worked in a Sprint store as a technician; trust me I know what I'm talking about. Yes, you can circumvent the issues by doing what you said (flashing a Gingerbread kernel), but one misstep and you're screwed. I said nothing wrong; this guy just got his phone and he said he's still trying to get the hang of things, so like I said, I don't recommend flashing an ICS ROM [right away].

Pretty good. I've owned a LOT of phones since the Evo 4G (which is still one of if not my favorite). The Epic Touch is a solid phone and will chew and spit out anything you throw at it (especially high-end games like GTA 3, Shadowgun, Riptide, etc). The camera is amazing too. You're gonna have a blast with this thing. I'm actually buying an international GS3 and heading to Straight Talk though, so I'm selling my Sprint GNexus soon.

Nothing; when Sprint runs out of supply of a phone, the system offers other phones that are usually of the same tier or better (iPhone is an exception, will never be offered or repaired by Sprint). Some reps will be nice and give you a list of choices, but most of the time they'll tell you what they've chosen for you. It's really up to the manager.

I really wish people would do more research before saying such things. Yes, there is a chance of a brick, but it has been figured out now and some safe ICS options have been developed. Check out the Development thread and look at agat63 and sfhub's offerings at the very least.

Agreed, if people read and follow the instructions, including familiarizing themself with the How not to brick your E4GT thread (link below), then bricking becomes a lesser threat.

I've got a Sprint GS2 E4GT flashed to cricket and I change ROMs all the time. The only thing I lose is 3g data, but only when I flash AOSP roms, and that's easily fixed with a CWM flashable zip (link below) that I flash after ROM and gapps. And mms can be an issue, but if you do a little homework here, it can get fixed. Mod on!

I'm still trying to figure out how to get Cricket MMS working on ICS TW-based ROMs. I've tried numerous fixes, and either it doesn't work, or it works and incoming SMS messages stop coming through. Never really found a true fix for this.... any ideas would be much appreciated!
The only way I can get both working is on AOSP ICS or JB ROMs. I'm not bagging on AOSP (love and appreciate the work these devs put out), but I'm kind of a closet TW fan, too.

The only way I've found to get MMS working is by CricketMMS.apk
Install like a normal APK, then when you want to get MMS open the new program called "Cricket MMS" with a black messaging icon, and download the MMS as normal.
Just what I was looking for. I also had my S2 flashed to cricket....now I want to Root and install the CelstialBody rom. The first time I tried to Root it I got the yellow triangle and had to pay again to get it reflashed. Don't want that again so can anyone help me get some advice/info on a safe way to Root and install this rom....Please. Many thanks in advance. Used to have the cricket mercury....rooted and a nice rom but dropped it and broke.
You do realize the yellow triangle means nothing right? Thats just "voiding" your warranty. It will tip off your carrier that you have had custom firmware on the phone. It doesn't matter because its so easy to reset. Either download triangle away or like me just use a 2$ usb jig. Plug the jig in while phone is off and 5 seconds later no triangle and no binary count.

Ok cool... Thank you!!! So if I get the triangle again and use the jig it'll be ok? And if I have to use the jig.... I can continue to Root after triangle is gone?

I used the app (no jig) to clear the triangle at boot. The Triangle Away app is free to xda members in Chainfire's thread, although he undoubtedly appreciates donations from buying the pay-app from the Play Store (it's the same exact app).
