Protex matte white case Review

hey guys,
Beyond cell got another case going..Its called the Protex..this is the combo version which comes with a holster and a screen protector.. Pretty decend case..not a big fan of 2 pieces ..but the matt white makes the phone look pretty cool

I've been pondering getting a white case or skin since the release of the white gnex. This looks cool, but not exactly what I need.
Nice review.

I have the white gsm gnex. I use the white "slim case" from ReEarth. best case I ever used lol.

You should check the sgp white one. 2 piece cases are not meant for me.I always break them

Looks like it might be a little nicer than the poetic, and at least looks like some better color options.

yeah a lot of the two tones are the wrong colors. hopefully it's just wrong images. i'm either going to get the standard black or blue though so i'm good.

Also very interested in what this looks/feels once someone has their hands on it. I'm leaning on this or a Cruzerlite TPU.

I have the Nexus 4 version and I like it a lot. I particularly like the protruding buttons that are easy to press, this is by far my favorite thing about this bumper. The grip is very comfortable due to the textured TPU material in the bottom. It doesn't secure the phone very tightly due to the plastic frames being flexible, but it is somewhat snuggly, I dropped the phone twice and it stayed in. I wouldn't trust a drop higher than 6ft+ though.
Like the oem Nexus 4 bumper, it have a weak spot under the USB port that can break in two, but mine is still fine, I think it would only happen if you constantly remove the phone many times in a day, which I don't do. I don't know how it's going to be with the Nexus 5, but with the Nexus 4 it doesn't interfere or lift the screen protector on the edges.
I use it with the XtremeGuard skin (or tempered glass), together making a very affordable but good looking combination, closest to naked but with reasonable protection. For $10 it's a very good purchase.

Hey nice find! I think Im going to order one, the poetic one looked too cheap, and I think these are the only 2 bumpers available.
Geez, I'm going to have about 5 cases soon, then probably still order the official case when its available...

Well my volume button is not 2 separate up down buttons its one solid. Dunno what nexus 5 they are using :/

you have no idea how old those cases were or what happened to them. Doesn't mean the product is poor the user could have dropped it etc

LG Hardshell

I'm seeing a few references to what looks like an official LG hardshell case for Nexus 5. Same design on the back as the phone and possibly the same material.

Awesome, looking forward to the review. I was thinking of jumping on the white as well. I'm just concerned with it being a matte finish.
Anything that isn't black with a matte finish tends to stain easily which is probably one of the reasons why the white Nexus 5 uses a different material. I'm hoping that isn't the case with yours, so I can pick one up!

Looks just like the quick cover, but without the cover.
Honestly, the recessed button would annoy me if it weren't for the cover waking the screen. Its not all that easy to press. Other than that it seems like a great case.

I also ordered the same case (online), and got an email shortly after that it was not yet in stock, but they would ship it out when it was.
I've asked around in a few stores, and it seems like they don't have them yet, either.

Wow, just couple of days ago i said to myself, why the hell doesnt anyone make a hard case that looks exactly like the back of this simple yet beautiful phone..
And here it is!!
I live in Toronto, and im calling every bell store in town tomorrow to see if i can snatch one, or else i have to wait for the online store to get them in Stock

I interpreted it as "we don't have them in stock yet". It was pure luck that I happened to be browsing the Bell site for N5 accessories.
I'll post here when I get an update.

Hope these come out in the UK, would be nice to have something slimmer than the bumper case (which is nice btw)

just got bored surfing the web and thought i would see if speck made nexus 5 cases yet. and i guess i lucked out !!!!

they look nice, but those colors are horrendous, except for the blue and white one. would love to know why they are priced that way when it seems they are made out of the same material as any other dual layered case.

Speck always over charges for their cases. They cater to the rich stupid iPhone people. And I agree the case colors they choose suck. I wanted a plain black one.

I do like the white and blue one but not for 35 bucks

Those color options are terrible.

Yea thats what i was thinkin. Got the blue and white cause thats the best looking one

This case is great for side and corner impacts, but the small lip hinders its face flat resistance.
My friend has this case on his sgs3, and I saw his phone drop onto our tile office floor and crack the screen, while in the case!
The floor did have a slightly raised edge, due to it being tile, but nothing a good case shouldn't have protected against.

^ sorry if my post seemed discouraging. I can only speak for the experiences I've seen with this case in an s3, which is 2 years old.
If the lip is a decent height, things should be fine if it falls facewards. Back and sides should be fine because of the thick plastic/rubber the case is made from. Let us k know how it fists!

Aluminium Bumper case for Nexus 5

I recently bought a Red Aluminium bumper case for my phone and it looks awesome on my phone just think about Red with Black combination. I will upload some pictures soon so that you can forget about buying a expensive case.
I have uploaded the pics and the last one picture shows it is red in color it is not pink. It is just because of the camera of Canvas 4 that the case looks somewhat pinkish.

I have this bumper case and and capdase silicon case. I also bought a back side skin from printvenue, actually I made it as I don't the feel of the back side and it gets dirty very easily.
I am uploading the picture which I used to create the skin. I don't have the skin right now as it is not shipped yet lets see when they will ship it to me.

Yes I am experiencing signal drops too I don't know why it is happening as few days past I opened the battery back cover of my phone I saw that the antennas are on the battery back cover not at sides.
I am about to buy a wood skin for my phone, you ever used skin on your phone as I am unable to decide dark wood or light coloured wood is best for black N5??

Both are nice depending on which you use. Dbrand is my first choice and for color, I'd opt for the darker one

Normally I would agree, but it looks great lol. Show vs go for me. I have since given up on any aluminum case like this and reverted back to my spigen cases.

Yeah, it looks good, but there are spigen and caseology cases that have a clear back that look great with a carbon fiber skin. And the signal isn't degraded with plastic.

Are there any rubber/plastic bumpers for this phone (don't want to hurt signal)? I never found any. The Google bumpers are just regular cases..

Just ordered the orange one. See what you made me do after I searched for it? I have a white carbon fiber skin on my N5, and any color goes well with it.

Dbrand and slickwraps are not available in my country anywhere and buying from there official sites is not possible for me so I bought a dark tamo wood skin from gadgetshieldz India. Thanks for advice as the Tamo wood is dark in color. Lets see whats gadgetshieldz is offering with there new brand.

But plastic bumper cases does not look as good as aluminium one. They look just okay instead of buying a plastic bumper case go for a spigen ultra fit case or skin.
