.9 PNG Change Error Compiling

Hey Guys, so I'm working on a theme port (Yes I've Asked Multiple Questions About This) , well, when I change a .9 PNG file, it has errors compiling. How do I compile then? Can I not change .9 PNG files?

M&S gives a tutorial about it here:

Personally, I've found that if all you're doing is adjusting the hue or saturation (the color of the image) you can straight make the edit. At least I've had the two changes I've made work without doing anything special.

Thanks, but I'm just moving from one theme that I'm porting, to the other, which is the ported one.

Okay, I have a stock framework, and then I have a bunch of png's from another theme in the i9100 section, if I put a .9 image, it wont compile right. So again, if I put the. 9 from the theme to the stock, it wont compile.

As long as you're replacing files with the exact same name and not creating new ones it should compile. Alternatively, you don't even need to uncompile and recompile. Just take your stock framework and open (not extract) it in 7zip. It'll show you all the files. Drag and drop your modified files over into the 7zip window. It shouldn't have to compress them or anything, it'll just replace the files that have the same name. That's how I make all my modifications.

Bro if u in to xml editing, then can u help me in a issue. I need the "DefaultThemes.apk" file containing more than 7 themes. I need a file which can contain 10-12 themes.
as u may see in my signature that i am in to theme making, if u can help then i will b grateful and ur name will alwz be in my Theme thread credit line.
I don't much abt Xml btw.

But i aint into any section...
I jst keep trying different stuff, either be it rom or theme,
I tried deleting some stock themes...so opened the related xml files but what i saw was...null null qnd lots n lots of null stuff! So i deleted the related xml and png files.
But the themes are still there.
I suggest you to copy the xml files and rename it, the name should be related to your theme. Just see the original xml files, you'll get an idea!
And one more thing...you really good at themes..i really love your job!

Try eclipse, or notepad ++

Try experimenting with classes.dex and resources.arsc in the default theme.apk file. What we gotta do to remove or add more themes?? Still working on it!

The deleting thing worked mate! :-D
P.S. I just played with the res folder. Try changing other things and the theme manager wont work! There is also some signing **** in the META-INF folder...so adding more themes might be a confusing and tiring job as even am new to editing xml files. But we will find a way....

[Mod] Sliding Window Effect !!

I did find new effect, I don't know if it is already known to others but I did search about it and find nothing.
Anyhow, I named it "Sliding Window Effect"

How to do this Mod:
Decompile SystemUI.apk
Open SystemUI\res\values\bools.xml
Search for
Code:
<bool name="config_useCaptureView">false</bool>
Change it to
Code:
<bool name="config_useCaptureView">true</bool>
Now Compile it and enjoy this effect
BTW this Mod will be added to my Kitchen in the next ver.

i agree.i haven't used thi mod but gave 5 stars.coz it's something different and looks nice.

no matter how much i like this mod, the important thing is that Gangs_kid shared a nu mod so 5 stars!

Been using this for a while but haven;t included it in my rom since it breaks manual brightness adjustment. I'm in the process of making a toggle for it.

Look what I did is
Extract systemUI.apk frim my phone
decompile it by using your kitchen
edit some png image
compile it
and copy it to my system is it ok ?
OMG MY My notification bar is just Gooooone *_*

Think your missing the signature of the apk, best to copy the classes.dex, reaources.arsc and the res folder over from the compiled apk to the original SystemUI.apk that you have

{HOW TO}{TEAM REJECTS}{Windows} Quick DECOMPILE/COMPILE - Jelly Bean 10/24 Updated

TEAM REJECTZ QUICK JB FIX​
1. You need to make sure you have the latest java
2. Download Notepad++ (google it) lol
3. Download the Team Rejectz Quick JB Fix (the latest one) which is linked below
Instructions Decompile/Recompile​
1. UNzip and place the JB Quick Fix Folder on your c: drive and name it apktool
2. Since this is TW/CM10 you should drag your framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, and systemUI.apk onto the apktool-if cmd file
3. Now time to decompile. You can actually drag your apk from where ever its located but i suggest you place them in the Quick Fix folder.
and drag and drop it on top of the Quick-Deompile cmd file
4. To get an error less decompile i prefer you to use the stock apk
5. Once the decompile process is done. you can go into the apks folder that was created and make your edits with notepad++
warning if you create to many edits that would cause and error. then begin the process over but do them one by one​
6. Now its time to recompile ^^^^^^^^^remember the warning^^^^^^^ drag and drop the apks folder on top of the Quick-Recompile cmd file
7. Now once your done go into the apks folder you should see dist folder. Your new compiled apk is located there. I prefer to just use the build folder and drag the things I need into the apk. Much easier. Also remember if any images has been added you need to make sure you drag the new arsc file because the public.xml may have been changed
8. Don't worry about signing the apk. All of your edits besides the ones in drawable folder will be in the resource.arsc file
9. Drag that file into the apk thats in the rom your editing
10. If you decide to edit the decompressed .9 images you can check my Team Rejectz Theme Cheat Sheet located >>>Here
Baksmali/Smali​
1. Grab the apk/jar file you want to edit
2. Drag the classes.dex file out of the apk/jar file
3. Drag and drop the classes.dex file onto the Quick-Baksmali cmd file
4. A smali folder will be created
5. Now you can make your smali edit inside of the smali folder and close and save them.
6. After the edits and save, drag and drop the smali folder on top of the Quick-Smali cmd file
7. You should now see a new file called new-classes.dex. rename it to classes.dex
8. Finally drag the classes.dex file into the original apk/jar you pulled it from

put the folder in your c: drive and you should be fine

Dude, this is a forum to learn. This is not a place where everyone will do the work for you. Use apktool to decompile.

im not just a noob..i know how to decompile but this apk is giving me head ache cause when i try to decompile it. it just closes apktool or apk manager. it seems like my netbook aint powerful. i have my desktop but my ram stick is fried so im askin for help..can you help? xda is a forum of sharing and helping
