i currently work for sprint and we just received our evo demo today. we also were informed of the accessories that we would have on launch day. we will have the bodyglove case, silicone cases in red and black, mini HDMI cable for 19.99 and the HDMI dock for $39.99. hopefully this info wasnt already in this forum. i looked but i believe im the first to post about the HDMI dock pricing. to me 39.99 isnt bad for the dock, what do you think???
When will we see the car dock?
unfortunately it just says coming soon
Thanks op...
wondering if radio shack will get those silicone body glove cases..

not at launch day at least...
Do anybody know if the car dock would allow you to place the Evo on it without removing the case? That's going to be the deciding factor for me. I really don't feel like removing the case every time I place it on the dock. If I do, I will just buy a universal dock instead.
My Zenis Desktop Dock just arrived.
For those that are wondering, it will take a "rubber" case – (this case is just a generic no name brand)
I dont have a "hard" case to try.
You can see it here - I'm no movie maker

Thanks for the review

it 'feels' & 'looks' like a quality product
if you can find who retails these they look pretty good, the link is to manufacturer minimum order 200 lol http://www.china-direct-buy.com/v/4...le_for_Samsung_Galaxy_S_II_i9100_Charger.html
I am using this. Very satisfied for now. Charges the phone with the original SGS2 case on. That was my main reason for buying it. I have not tried to sync with PC using the dock as I use Kies Air mostly. Build quality seems good.
May be other dock users can confirm something, should the phone go in to Dock Mode as soon as it is placed in the dock? i.e. show the desktop clock etc. That does not seem to happen with this dock. Although I have not really experimented with any settings. Actually I'd rather have it just like now so that the phone screen is off when it is charging in the dock.
Just a heads up..
Zenis dock dosnt work with the Case-Mate Tough case.

Thats a given, it makes the phone super thick. At least the neohybrid and barely there can still fit.
anyone know if the case mate pop will fit in the Zenis dock?
or is it still as thick as the case mate tough..
cheers.
I've the same question. Maybe someone tried case mate pop with this dock?
Hi.
Got Zenis dock the other day.
Transferring files takes ages through the dock. Is yours working fine?
Or is mine broken?
Anyone please?
Is your Zenis case working like it should?
With mine data transfer is very slow.
otter box commuter
does anyone know if it works with the otter box commuter? It probably doesnt..

Hi guys I've got them both and pop case mate do not fit in Zenis dock, fits only rubber bumber or barely there case mate, thank me if I helped you.
I've been wanting inductive charging on my phone for ages, and got tired of waiting for a retail solution.
So I bought a cheap leather flip style case on ebay for £3 and a powermat battery cover and charge pad off amazon.
The battery cover was for a blackberry bold and cost just £5 on amazon uk, and the powermat pad was reduced to £10 on amazon uk.
How I did it:
I dissassembled the charging element from the powermat blackberry cover, it's just glued in so comes apart with a pry tool.
next I peeled the plastic holder from the leather flip case.
I glued the power mat charger element to the flip case behind the plastic holder and soldered a micro usb jack to the charger element.
Then glued the plastic cover back in flip case on top of the charger element.
Not bad looking for a first try and works a treat. No more wires needed to charge.
I Would've liked to have made a qi solution to be future proof, but the energizer plate is expensive and hard to find in UK, as are power receiver cases, i'm hoping my nexus prime will have qi built in when i get it!

Nice work! I think my charger gives me more freedom than an inductive solution, but this is a brilliant solution and it's beautiful too.
Very nice man ! Good job done there.

good job....waiting for a retail version
That's really cool! hehe +1 for you
Awsome modding man!
can you please make a tutorial on how to make such a thing with links to the products?
I've added a picture of the powermat charging element under the flip cases plastic holder.
I've refined it a bit now and made a much neater job of it.

powermat car charger
My next mod is going to be to mod a car bracket with a powermat charger so that i can just sit the phone on a cradle, hold it in place magnetically and have it charge whist i'm using the phone for navigation.
it should work quite well as the powermat element can deliver 5v at 1000mah - more than enough juice for navigation.
I've got everything but a holder/cradle for my car - as I currently just sit my phone in the recess in my vauxhalls dash where the clock is.
parts needed are:
spare power mat plate(amazon)
12v - 18v adapter(powermats supply voltage) A car laptop power supply i already have will do the trick.
Car bracket/holder for the galaxy
a few small magnets
I need a car bracket with a big "plate" to rest the phone on that can preferably attach to the vents - suggestions welcome

Tomtom has quite some solutions for attaching it to the air vents. You could mod one and attach so? Een sort of surface to it.
Tomtom has their own solution but there are a few third party solutions too. I would say about 35 euros.
mark 2 modded case
I have now modded a Casemate tough case to accommodate my powermat inductive charger. As can be seen in the pictures the inductive coil is stuck to the hard layer of the case and I have cut out some rubber from the the soft layer so that it all fits without being able to tell it has been modified.
I have a small nib type usb jack connecting the inductive coil to the phone( from a droid x powermat pack.
I have also added a few magnets to the inside of the case and some inside a powermat single position charger. this is now mounted on my car dash to provide an easy plug free charge whist driving - i will add some pictures for anyone interested soon
How did you modify the droidx usb nib to fit the hump on bottom back of phone? Mine bends when i plug it in
Good work folks
The Droid x nib fits neatly, I had to cut a notch in the case mate soft shell to make it fit properly. all I kept from the Droid x powemat cover was the nib, the 4 pin female port for the nib and the coil.

Just finished my PowerMat car charger project. It's a combination of several different parts put together. I used a Mountek mount to secure it, modified it to connect to an adjustable ProClip mount, then modified a Powermat 1X base to the ProClip mount. I powered this using a laptop car charger. I also removed the Powermat speaker because the turn-on chime was getting annoying every time I started the car.
For my phone, I'm using the parts from a Droid X Powermat cover and an Otterbox Commuter Case. As of right now, my only camera is my phone so I can't take pictures of it.
here are the links to the individual components:

Look s like a neater job than my car charger as I use one of those flexi spider thing s to hold the powermat in place - stuck to a vent. Hopefully Sammy will see the lengths people will go to to avoid plugging in and build qi into the sgs3

dang, this is awesome. wonder if its possible with the palm touchstone kit everyones been doing with the samsung galaxy S...
Looks amazing *__*
Maybe will do the same...
And I will have a look for smth. like this for my Sensation XE
Guys
I'm really interested in doing this.
1. Any chance of some good quality close up photo's of the USB connector and how you've wired it to the powermat receiver?
2. Any chance of documenting what wiring you had to do to receiver?
3. In the last series of photo's you've cut the powermat before fitting it to the in car vent holder, is there anything I should specifically watch out for before cutting the X1?
What I'm thinking of doing is fitting the receiver to an Otterbox case for a S2 and then mounting the X1 onto one of these.

Any help appreciated guys.
very nice job man! really like it
Any chance of updates from the guys who did this?
Hi,
I was looking to pick up a desktop dock. I am using a Seido charger from my Treo pro days. It seems to charge very very slowly (it is plugged in via usb). I was looking for a nicer cradle/dock that would fit my E4GT with a TPU case.
Is there anything out there?
Thanks,
Rich
Here is the Samsung stand/spare battery charger. It doesn't charge the phone but comes with a spare battery and cable to plug in/charge. I have a generic TPU/Hybrid case from eBay and it fits the standard in both portrait and landscape trouble free. Quite like it.

whats the cheapest place to get one of these?
Check Amazon. Picked mine up for just a little over $30 shipped if I recall right. I really like it.

I was just snooping around for a cradle/dock that would work with a case. The one I found seems to fit the bill. Search for eBay item 220936397990. Anyone have any hands-on with this cradle?
Might check the fine print on that ebay cradle. It clearly states that cases must be removed from most US models of the GSII in order to work.
Not to say it won't...
EDIT: Nevermind, I don't read to well. You have to remove the cushion from the cradle.
Well I just purchased two. If you want to hold off, I'll let you know how it turns out with a TPU case and a Body Glove case
Please let us know how it works with your case.
How did that go for you? Did you get it yet?
I guess we will never know...
Search my posts, I posted the exact dock I got, that works with my TPU case and posted pictures with links to the products I used. I did have to take a bit of the sides with a dremel tool, but I got 3 docks and did all 3 in about 15 min and they all work perfectly.
Hey, I just wanted to say thanks - I ordered the dock, did the mod with the dremel & it works great!
if you want a car mount (suction cup) get the nuvi 200 mount on ebay (around $4)
WITH tpu case fits perfect snug enough to hold but not damage. Very nice.
won't work without TPU case (too loose a fit)
Ebay - 220983308911
$4.15 Shipped
My magnetic charging cable has stopped working. It was a cheap one from eBay, but lasted since launch.
I'm using a Diztronic case. Is there a magnetic charging dock that fits a z3c with this case? I'm in Canada, trying not to break the bank.
Alternatively, is there a recommended cable everyone endorses?
I use this one. It's probably going to be more expensive than the one you got from eBay, but it's worked pretty well for me.
http://www.amazon.ca/Magnector-Impr...GK3YI/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455998239
It's got a convex curve that is meant to conform with the curvature of the side of the phone, but with a case on, it obviously makes it impossible to connect. I have a Devilcase, which is probably about as thick as your Diztronic. I just took a knife and cut the edge opposite the light, down to the little strip running along side. It now connects perfectly with the case on.
As for me - dock
Maybe I am a little too late to answer.
I use this one:
Wsken usb magnetic cable For Sony Xperia Z3 Z2 Z1 charging adapter charger cable - from AliExpress. Was around $8 only.
Store:BAOSIGHT Digital Technology
Sorry, can't post links. Don't have privileges, being a new member here.
Nice build quality and fast enough charging (at least faster than the earlier Htc cable I was using).
Although, the magnetic connection does not automatically snap at the exact pin location. Takes some fiddling around. Maybe that's the case with all such cables, I haven't used any other.
Nonetheless, I am very satisfied.
I've tried 3 or so different sorts, they all require a bit of fiddling sadly, shape of the z3c isn't helping
I use this one from Amazon.
