I've noticed a lot of the download sites have been sucking lately, so I thought sharing the ROMS as torrents would be a good way to remedy the situation.
I will start out with a few and hope to build in the coming days. If any of the versions I put up need updating, please point that out as it'll be hard to keep track of myself further down the line. Also, feel free to throw out suggestions of anything you want to see up here.
If you are not familiar with torrents, look here: http://www.utorrent.com/help/guides/beginners-guide
Essentially download utorrent, install it, and open the .torrent file I posted with the utorrent program. It will then download the file directly from me and anyone else who is sharing the file.
Make sure all proper ports are forwarded and that you have DHT and local peer discovery enabled in utorrent.
You may also download directly to your phone using an app such as ttorrent (pro version recommended) for android. Just open the .torrent file using the ttorrent app on your phone.
Oh, and one last thing. SEED SEED SEED!
You better get the dev's permission first or you might inadvertently upset them. I learned this the hard way. Just passing on the advice.
I for one think this is a great idea. just make sure to ask the devs first to make sure noones toes are being stepped on. but great idea man.

That's how the internet works. If someone makes something available for mass consumption, the more mirrors the better. How many legit files/links out there are gone forever thanks to megaupload disappearing?
If you don't want something shared, don't share it in the first place.

Well that may be so, but some things it's better to ask out of respect. Plus, Jerdog (the moderator for this section) said he thought it wouldn't be a problem with xda "staff". He did say that you should get the dev's permission first.
I asked a dev about helping out and never got a reply so I didn't post it.
You can be a **** about it or you could use some etiquette. Wiki's explanation of it is
Rules of etiquette encompass most aspects of social interaction in any society, though the term itself is not commonly used. A rule of etiquette may reflect an underlying ethical code, or it may reflect a person's fashion or status. Rules of etiquette are usually unwritten, but aspects of etiquette have been codified from time to time.

I usualy find any rom on Emuparidise or RomWorld(two best rom sites)And if you cant find them there RomHustler or CoolRom,these two are heavy on advertisements but sometimes have what others dont. For ps3 games got to PS3iso which has almost every psn-ps3 game.I dont own 360 so I cant tell you where to get games for it.

There are always better ways of doing things, but this should have already happened and the dev's shouldn't mind, other than not doing it themselves.

You mean for the different modems and stock roms? I just tried but I can't get any of those. Seems like multiupload is totally down. If you have all those files somewhere you can easily create torrents yourself. Its just a matter of having that spare bandwidth to front the first couple peers.
Related
We have all had to sit and wait for ungodly download speeds for some of these roms and other things. Sometimes the download links are broken. And no one likes dealing with those download sites like mega upload.
Why don't we, as a community, run torrents for all of these things?
I almost always have a computer running torrents, and I have a seedbox at work. I would be more than happy to run torrents for the different files we have around here - Roms, kernels, themes, other patches, etc.
I searched around and couldn't find anything about using torrents as a community, but I think it would be a good addition. Are there any drawbacks that I'm just not aware of?

I seeded a couple in the past in the Thunderbolt forum and only like 2 people even used them. I would ask the devs first that way they can link your torrent file in their threads.
That is probably a good idea. Those files will be paused until I get permission from the devs.
please do not host/mirror any of those files without the DEV consent
and even if you do get the DEV consent, the DEV him/herself should seed their own files only, using any of the publicly available torrent sites

Let me first say i am NOT trying to ruffle any feathers, just an honest question.
Why would it matter who ends up seeding them if given developer consent?
it's just the way how things are run in XDA, DEVs wants to have control over their own files, in case of crap happens
we do however allow recognize DEV's little helper if he/she publicly announces one

I suppose this could be the problem with torrents, once it's seeded by one and spread it always has potential to be seeding by anyone. Suppose 'Jon' links 'Tom' the torrent, Tom isnt too familiar so Jon installs the ROM for him but Tom never stops seeding. It's out of anyones control at that point.
Regardless, I understand you're point.

While it's not of greater importance... but to stop speculations...
He violated XDA's rules by forcing donations, hence why we got back to his thread.
He then linked to another site where the download links he provided there went through AdFly; also a no go.
Since the rules and our moderation intervention obviously didn't sit too overly well with him he decided to quit XDA.

He simply said that further efforts (whatever that was supposed to mean) are stopped unless his donation goals are reached.
This is actually "forcing donations" - throwing a "pay up or I won't move a finger" - as the intention was clearly "making revenue" (also backed by the AdFly links he put up on the other site to where he had linked). Both is in conflict with our rules.
As sad as the incident may be, he decided to not play nice all by himself.
Ok thanks for the clarification, shame that every forum seems to have its' cowboys. Had high hopes for this device, still much more civilized than the evo 3d forums.

I've seen the way he handles his threads, while he does not have to share his work.. he could be nicer about it, and if he sees a useless post, instead of replying to it, he could report it. It goes both ways, to be honest.
I actually saw his ROM and didn't flash it simply because I saw the way he handled the thread.
PS: I have the utmost respect for all devs, they do things for free because they enjoy it and love sharing. So more power to him and I appreciate the work he and any other dev does. I'm not bashing him, just saying it wasn't only the member's fault. It goes both ways.

He builds for at&t not i9505. While some don't like the way he runs his threads, I can kind of see where the guy is coming from when people post completely irrelevant things in his threads. Although he could be a bit nicer about things or simply ignore them, it must be frustrating having to sift through all of the off topic stuff to find comments related to development. I never got to flash his roms, but after looking at the at&t thread it would definitely be nice to see him bring builds to our device...lol

Ah, that's where I saw it! My apologies for the confusion.
And yeah, I mean the more ROMs we have here, the better. I was just throwing my thoughts out. A lot of people are just asking questions.. while they may have already been answered, if people are going to put the effort into replying, might as well reply with something helpful like a link to the original answer or something. I mean, that's what I'd do. But like I said, I don't mean to start a war or anything, its his ROMs, his threads, etc.
PS: I say this to anyone who says "its already been answered" or "search" etc.. if you have enough time to post that, then simply help the guy out. We've all been noobs and we know what its like to be scared sh**less because we think we broke something.
Why doesn't some one just run a thread for him? That way he has nothing to deal with. Post his op, maintain the OP, but have say the op of this thread maintain it?
I know plenty of Devs that do that. Illusion rom by mikeramsey for instance. All the dude wants is to build a badass rom. He'll officially support a device but he doesn't run the thread. Metropcs s3 is a perfect example. He official supports it and puts out official builds for it, but the thread at AF is 100% official, the builds are 100% by Mike, but he's not the op nor participates in it nor maintains it.

Honestly you can run his att rom on tmobile, just flash a working kernel for tmobile.
I dont mind maintaining the thread. I run my thread the way i run it can check out my minions thread to see how i dwell in it.
End of the day it is all up to task, while I may have different opinion on how he run his thread but it is still a good rom. I believe every developer run their threads based on experience...so I am 100% sure task have a reason for how he run his threads and something had occur in his past that allows him to justify what he does. I always say if you dont like how an op run their threads, do not bother posting in it. If you cannot get anyone to help you with troubles, do not bother flashing it...it is that simple. And if you are going to post in the thread you SHOULD know what kind of response you will get from task base on your question and if you foreesee it to be something that will piss you off...just dont post. Just as he can ignore 90% of the useless craps he chooses to reply to the users can also not post 90% of the useless craps they choose to post. XDA is about learning, not babysitting.

Sorry I meant on the phone because my laptop is out of commission right now :/
Hi all,
I noticed that The Sickness had closed his threads and his downloads are no longer available. Luckily, beforehand i got his permission to post his work on a torrenting site along with the images he used in his postings to help with download availability. I'll seed as long as I can. If you download, please seed at least overnight while you sleep, or as long as you can, so that they will be available for others. They can be found here:

The Sickness Edition V2 has JUST been posted so give people time to download it and start seeding. Might take a day or so.

At the request of "The Sickness" i have removed these links. He specifically stated he closed his threads because he did not want anyone to download them any more.
If you want a copy of anything related to S3 or S4 for MetroPCS (And TMobile for S4) please let me know via PM. This type of situation is why i collect the files and back them up.
His ROMs were, by my opinion, the best out there by FAR for our device.. So many options, so fast, and so well made. Kinda upset that i'm a little upset with him for doing this. But whatever. Let me know if you guys need anything.
EDIT: I didn't mean to leave out every one who helped him! They deserve just as much credit for these fine ROMS.
First you open after approval...
Now closed on de devs request?

Out of respect yes. I took the link down. You have a problem with that or something?

Sorry, you misunderstood.
I didn't mean it out off respect.
I was just asking.
Maybe because I'm surprised by the sickness choice to close...

What the hell? Did I miss something as to why he did this? I see no form of abuse or trolling on his thread(s).
Only hint I'm getting at is his post here.
Sickness, if you're reading this please understand there are hundreds, possibly even thousands of people who appreciate your work. Hence the download count on all your ROMs put together. Do NOT get stressed out by the lack of "thanks" on your posts. Just think of the download counts, and knowing your hard work is currently being/already installed on hundreds of rooted phones, as a thank you from the people who don't click that button. I too would be frustrated with the lack of appreciation because I'm the same way and expect some form of praise for my hard work.
But after all your donations, and your current "thanks meter", you should not get stressed over this.
If this is completely not the reason you removed all your download links, then disregard this post. Just wanted to let you know to not let things like that get to you regardless.
Your ROM is the only updated fully customized TW based ROM on this forum for this device. And for those who need WiFi Calling I'm pretty sure this is the go-to ROM. And it always will be, for me at least.

Oh, sorry.
Hard to say why. Developers undergo LOTS of stress. One will never know just how much just stress until you become one. and this is in his free time so im sure he threw up the middle finger when he'd had enough.... I would have.

I don't think a donation would do much in this situation. His links are down everywhere. So something has obviously pissed him off over the edge. Sounds to me he's going to get a new device and start over in whichever subforum that may be, and leave the S4 behind. Probably deleted everything off his hard drive as well because I don't think he's going to spend the time re-uploading everything. Kind of depressing, actually. Those who DID support him got the shaft.
Also check your PM's when you get a minute, bro.

Think he said he had a Note3, so that is why he no longer had an S4. I agree with the making a donation being a waste - did that on another S4 Dev who walked, so these shafts are getting a bit old. There was not much development being done on this one anyway for some time - mostly theming - nothing functional.
Will probably keep this a Multiboot primary ROM for now , and hope if we get the next generation Android, someone else will pick it up. In the meantime, some nice AOSP and other base ROMs to mess with. If the OP of Omega could somehow get WiFi calling incorporated - that would be the way to go. Talk about a dev with some real class.
Chill out on the shaft talk guys. You don't know what his plans are or why his threads closed.
He specifically closed his threads because of ungrateful , complaining posts all in his threads. It hasnt even been 12 hours yet. Let the man chill

The shaft subject is in regards to every single link of his being removed from any kind of distribution. Even the OP who was nice enough to upload them to torrents was asked to remove them. That doesn't just happen unless the dev calls it quits. Removing the links from XDA is understandable, but when the links are no where to be found on dev-host and androidfilehost under his accounts, it's only obvious where it's headed.
He can take all the chill out time he needs. I'm just saying that the people who support him are getting the shaft because he just released v4 of the Sickness Modz which can't be downloaded now. Along with his custom edition ROM.

He is mad because people are ungrateful that he put times in this and only around 10 percent or less of the people that down thank him

Just so everyone knows my boy The Sickness "for real" lol... gave me permission to post a download link to Insanity V9 in my theme thread since all my themes are based off of Insanity Rom and the last few days I been bustin a $$ inverting all the required apks as a base to bring all of my themes over to the S4. But just so everyone knows there will be no more updates/dev work on it as of now but maybe hopefully he will come back and drop a bad ass update for everyone! So by tomorrow i will have posted and ported over some dope ass themes for everyone to enjoy and in my threads i will have a link to download Insanity V9 to go with it.

I understand. But I talked to him earlier. This is temporary. He feels unappreciated and is frustrated about how much work he puts into the roms for people to post whiny rude posts in his thread. That's all
He's not "shafting" us

+1 - that is what I was talking about - plus a few more earlier on different devices.
As for abuse, I had notified the Moderator a few times on the ROM thread when it started to get out of hand and it was cleaned. This just goes with the territory - the more active the thread, the more BS will come out of the woodwork.
