My gmail app is not sending mail. Ive done the clear data fix multiple times and it works for a bit then stops sending within an hour?
Any idea why it would do this?
Using Touchless with Darkside v1
Try deleting the app with TB then reinstalling from the Market.

Same thing is happening to me. I have my email going to the stock email app for now. At least there you can set it to check every half hour or etc. I hope google fixes this issue soon.

This happens to me on 4G as well. There are times I send e-mails from it and people never receive them and there are times I never get them. Then sometimes it works perfect. I switched to a 3rd party e-mail app. It never fails me. I am using Kaiten but its a paid app. Try K9 on the Market. You can make it black themed and it works well for many.

I had this prob few days back, I turned syncing off, then back on. I then reboot the phone and bam! It started working again.
P.S. Under Applications>All. I also cleared data/cache.

Settings->Accounts and Sync. On apps, select All, and choose Gmail, clear cache and data on that one.

I have lost some faith in G-Mail. I don't understand why I can get a 3rd party app like K9, add my G-Mail account to that, and people receive the e-mails faster than using G-Mail itself. If someone can explain why this is, I would appreciate it.

I think it depends on many factors, we all have different apps, different roms, kernels, and also different qualiies of reception.

Can you be a bit more clear? I'm understanding bits and pieces... what I explained over clearing the cache was your answer to your question previous to your last post.

Anyone else having issues with Exchange email not sending automatically? I noticed this with the 1st beta release and for the life of me can't figure out how to fix it. After I hit send I have to then hit refresh to get emails to send.
I have no problem sending or receiving but draft folder is not syncing.
delete the account and re-setup that might solve it or clear data on settings

Would really appreciate some help on this one. Recently factory reset my phone and updated to the uvlde update. I noticed the email app had changed a bit. When i put my account in (an imap account) it wont load any messages. Im beyond positive that i have the right settings. I can send an email to myself even, but it won't show up on my phone. I hit load messages, cog spins for a second then it just stops. I hit load more messages . spins then nothing.... Any ideas? I've tried clearing data and putting the account back inane few times with no luck .

Just went to tmobile store. Tried out my email settings on an htc one... Worked just fine.... Tried them out in another gs2.... Same problem. you press refresh or load more emails... It tries and nothing happens. Im using an imap account. Any ideas? Really need email to be working, but seeing as we get ics june 11 maybe i should wait? Anyone have imap email working on theirs?

Go into setting then accounts and sync then click on your gmail account and make sure email is syncing or you won't be able to retrieve new emails

Try going to the photo gallery and going to the pic you want to email then at the top there should be a button that let's you email it or press the menu button and email it that usually works for me

Its not gmail imap. Its my school email. Everything is set to sync anyways. Why gmail accoint recieves email fine, its my school imap.

I have seen this both the G2 and the SGSII. The stock email app and some email settings/policies do not play nicely. The work around seems to be download a different email app (such as K9 email) or forward your school mail to your gmail account that is hooked up to your phone.
Other than that, maybe the ICS update will fix it some how or another.
Yea im banking on the ics update... Heres something very interesting: Ive had to replace this phone once already for a different problem. The gs2 i had before this had a slightly different stock email app that worked with my imap fine. Difference was the stock email had settings that allowed me to select peak push times and like days of the week to sync most. This stock email app on this replaced phkne does not have those settings... As well as not having the imap work. Anyone notice that in their settings? That is... The push time options. Super weird that there coukd be two different ones ive encountered on the same phone..

It seems whenever I try to send 3 messages in a row in the stock messaging app it freezes and lags a bunch. I also can't receive more than 3 messages at once either...anyone else experiencing lag issues? This also happens in every other app but messaging is the worst

How many messages do you have stored? If you're having problems in every app then it sounds like either something's corrupted in the system, or you have an app causing problems eating up memory or other resources.
Unless you have good reason to believe that the problems with sms are unrelated from your other issues, you should give more info on more apps, on what else happens, when it happens, what triggers it, what you've tried to do to fix so far, etc.
Also helps to know if your rooted, what rom/build your using, kernel, etc.

I mean like typing and sending and typing and sending three different texts somewhat fast. Sorry if that doesnt make sense but the messaging app is just super laggy all the time and it's probably the 10,000 messages I have stored

Try clearing the data on the email app and the exchange app. Reboot the device and see if that fixed it

I have pinpointed it to when new mail is arriving.force closes 100% of the time.
I think I've found the culprit. I froze the 2 'my magazine' files.
Upon restoring them the email and Touchwiz stopped force closing. If I refreeze them, email FCs 100% of the time when new mail arrives.

I am on Sprint, but have had the same issue--once I defrosted the magazine apps, the issue went away.
Nice!
