Well the background is backed up by your Google account, what do you mean the battery wipe?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using XDA App

the battery lasts about 12 hours which is weird, because today I put a battery borrowed and spent 10% in about half an hour, then put my before was 78% and now was 98%, these exchanges were made 10:30am until now I have 59%.
But what I find strange is the first 20% to 30% is spent very quickly after already takes a little longer but after 12 hours 1%.
what is the problem

Well fill the battery and wipe battery stats as normal, then run the battery up and down a few times and should all be normal.

[Q] Yet another battery drain problem

Hey guys,
When I first got my Desire I calibrated the battery after the first couple of days (when I found out how to do it), and since then it's been great. But in the last couple of weeks, it seems to get a bit lazy. So I thought I'd try and re-calibrate it.. Booted into recovery, wiped battery stats, did the process again (charge while on, turn off, charge again, etc) And now..well..I unplugged it at 6am and it's flat as a pancake now at 2pm..
My question is, there are so many different methods for calibrating, which would be the best one for me to use right now? It isn't turned on atm, and I don't want to charge it until I know what I'm doing. Hope someone can help me out
Maybe the problem is not your battery but a app or widget.
You say, after the calibration it was good.
Have you installed something new?
Edit:
The calibrate method I used is:
- charge full
- disconnect from cable and shutdown phone.
- charge till led is green
- disconnect from cable, start phone and shutdown phone
- charge till led is green
- Disconnect from cable - wipe battery stats
- Done
Yep that's the method I used.
Just done a complete wipe of everything and re-flashed InsertCoinHD2.0.0
Just gonna leave it with minimal apps, Facebook, eBay, etc for a couple days and see how that goes.
Looks like it hasn't worked
88% after 1 hour 27 mins
70% after 2 hours 40 mins
58% after 4 hours 8 mins

Calibrating your batterie has only to be done once. If you flash a new rom, it's normal for the batterie to go that fast. You should wait a few days before everything is working as it should.
So your focus should be to find a clean rom, don't install any apps and just try it for a few days. After that you could also try messing with havs kernels.

I suppose this is with screen off? You should download current widget from the market and log your batterie usage. If the usage is around 5ma (lower = better) and still have a high batterie drain, then your batterie is damaged. But if the usage is higher then it's a software problem But then again, if you flash a new rom every few days it's normal to have high batterie drain.
Just tried it and wow 458mA! I might take my desire back to stock, original RUU and s-on and such.

That's normal if you have your screen on. You should enable the log function and leave your screen off for a few hours.
Thanks for that I've been flashing ROMs and such for a while now, but this is the first time I've had any problem with the battery.
Just a little update.
I figured it would be the kernel I was using (InsertCoinHD 2.0.0) as I'd heard a lot of people have the same trouble. Reflashed to v1.9.5 and the battery is going back to its old self, 61% left after 8 hours with moderate use, since reflashed 3 days ago Thanks to all who helped

Battery life-desire 88% display!

Hey guys how is everyone? Just a quick one...
In the past 12 months I've had my desire I'm shocked at how short my fone battery lasts. I can barely get 8 hours off the phone without a recharge. The phone sometimes switches off as soon as it gets to 15%. I've tried to calibrate the battery, wiping battery stats but all to no avail. Just this morning I've had the phone on for 1hour 10mins. From a full overnight charge its already at 64%. Battery use always shows the display to be using atleast 70%! I'm on the old amoled desires. Anything I can do peeps? Cheers
What's the total time of battery?

NB. Currently using android oxygen 2.3.3. Noticed no difference in any of the default htc roms I've used.
Been on 1hr 20mins and its shed 40%. I can try and take a screenshot for you guys
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
That sounds about normal to me, it sucks, get used to it or use your phone less. sorry.
Also forgot to mention screen brightness generally between 30-50%. Cheers folks

You probably messed up your battery with all that "calibrating". Unless your standby usage is significantly more than 10mA there isn't much you can do.
I had the same problem with oxygen. My fix was to unpartition my SD card. So no ap2sd. I use the hboot for different. I easily get 24 hrs with heavy data and video use.
May need a fresh install.

[Q] 10 Percent Battery Drain in 10 Minutes

Hello everyone,
i have a problem i have not really heard of.
In Standby, i can get quite a good performance of say 1% per hour.
When i'm actually using the phone however, the battery life is just terrible.
I just opened google Maps for 5 Minutes (lowest brightness, no wifi, no gps) and my battery went from 11 to 1 percent.
Same thing yesterday. I was playing falling fred for 5-10 Minutes and the battery went from 100% down to 88%
I'm using ARHD 6.3.1.
I also just noticed, that my Dialer used 30% battery, even though i only made 3 calls.
Anyone have any Ideas?
Well its normal to have battery drain while screen is on....but still try calibrating ur battery.....
And give a try with klquicksall v12 kernel.....

There are some good posts around on how to figure out what's causing unusual battery drain. Here are two:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937080
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16808932
Basically, you probably have an app that it using excessive amounts of CPU and using power. The trick is to find out which one. Apart from the tips in the two threads linked above, you could try an app like Watchdog Lite to find out what it is.
Did you flash the new radio after flashing 6.3.1? I got the same problem but then flashed the newer radio and the Problem was gone

Only charging to ~65%

Hi,
i usually charge my One X over night with the original HTC charger.
I use a custom ROM (Charmeleon) but experienced this also on stock a couple of weeks ago.
Sometimes i wake up, unplug the phone and it's kind of hot and only charged to about 65% although it was plugged about 8 hours.
This night it happened the second time in a row.
Has anyone the same issue?
Thanks
Regards
Daniel
You need to reset the battery stats, though I'm not sure how to do it on a HOX; I'm still unrooted, locked.
Usually it's through recovery. Basically since you flashed the rom at (possibly) not full battery it thinks the battery is full at 65% on the new rom.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No, that's not the problem because i use this ROM for a week now and it charged without a problem the other days. And as i mentioned, i also got this on stock one time...
Since you're rooted and unlocked it wouldn't hurt to wipe the stats again. Charge it full, turn it off and charge it for 10 minutes, turn it on in recovery and wipe stats. Then let it die completely and charge it full. Should be fine.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I highly doubt it just isn't charging.. Maybe restart it before you sleep? If you possibly have a ton of background stuff running? I can imagine it wouldn't charge due to that though. It could also be a deeper problem that might need a full wipe and re flash...

Hmm the last two charges were fine. Very suspicious... :-/
There may have been a connection problem with the cables, happened to my brother when he didn't use the factory charger.

And it happened again....
I use the original htc Desire hd charger with a Kindle USB cable.
But if thats really the Problem, why does it work Most of the time?

BTW i wiped battery stats before.
I think i will wait for the next Charmeleon Version to come and wipe completely then.

Yeah, do that.. But a third party usb extender caused his problem. Weird, I thought. It wouldn't even charge enough to get past a black screen, it scared me I thought it was bricked. A little adjustment of the connection fixed it but needless to say we don't use that cable anymore.

Now i got the same issue with the original cable. I charged it at work after it charged only to ~67% over night and suddenly the notification led started flashing orange and green and the phone got very hot.
I'd definitely return it to the retailer its clearly hardware..

Try battery calibration app from the play store, i used this to sort out a similar problem on my old desire.

This app deletes the same battery stats which have been mentioned above, its just an easy way to do it.

Has anything changed on Android 4 about the battery stats? I cleared them the first time after i installed a custom rom.
Before my One X has charged about 70 times without any problems (just 1 time i got this error). After i installed the custom rom and cleared battery stats (via "Battery Calibration" from play store) i got this issue more and more.

I am all for the easy way.
I have the same problem with my HOX. From what I noticed this happens only if the device is really hot. As soon the temperature goes down it starts charging again. From what i've read on google, it has some settings from stopping it from charging on high temperature because the Li-Po battery can explode much more easier then the Li-On one.
I installed ARHD 7.1.0 this morning had 90% battery after installing, thought id top it up to full when i checked 15mins later it was still at 90%. Rebooted into recovery deleted battery stats and started charging all good.

You have a very badly made app working in background, eating the battery, heating up the cpu, this could be related to modified unstable ROM. Forget about battery calibration, android does that automatically for 1 reason only - to show you the most appropriate percentage when you use the battery itself, it has nothing to do with your problem.
I'm one step closer - i maybe found the cause, but not the solution.
I installed Current Widget yesterday and enabled logging. At midnight i connected my One X to the factory charger and went to bed.
At 7:00 the phone was really hot, Battery indicator showed 58°C and the battery was at about 70%.
I checked the Current Widget immedeately and found out that the phone charges to 100%!!
0:00 5%, Plugged in
2:54 100%, Fully charged
3:44 100% Charging state, kept until now
4:40 69%, Until now constantly losing charging state
4:41 70%, Seems to charge again
4:56 69%, Charging seems not to work
5:20 71%, Charging again a little
7:00 71%, Just kept the state and changing between 69 and 71%
7:01 71%, Plugged out
The "jobs" that run over night are:
02:00 Sms Backup and Restore
03:00 Titanium Backup - Backup all User Apps and Data
04:00 Whatsapp Autobackup
How can i find out what is the problem / Causes the drain?
The phone is in airplane mode the whole night.

[Q]Drunk battery?

Hello guys,
You might not know me, but i'm new to the Desire HD forums. I just bought one from a friend and i realy love the device.
Anyway,
I thought i might aswell root it. So after 3 hours, i finally managed to root my Desire HD/ace.
While flashing This Rom, 4EXT recovery said i had 50% battery left.
After flashing, and booting, the Device said that the battery was 95% full?
Is there something wrong with my Radio?
Thanks in advance,
TheRinseM.

Radio has nothing to do with battery (at least as far as spikes; I suppose a more inefficient radio could drain more battery). Did you full wipe before flashing? How old is your battery?
No the flashed ROM's on our Desire HD particularly ICS and JB have a problem with Battery %. Sometimes you can get random falls and a reboot will usually put the % right again. If you charge to 100% overnight then go into recovery and reset battery stats it can help.

My battery said it was 56%, then i did a reboot, and it was 95%. But wiping battery stats works! Thanks alot!

Mine has the drunk battery too. I really have no idea what the battery percent really is ever, but it never runs out before getting down to 0% so at least I have some reserve. I have the original battery in mine.

wipe battery stats in recover, I think.
Did not work. Stock and cm10.1 it's the same no matter what I try. I "calibrated" the battery several times. Has no effect. I guess the battery isn't as bad as it first seems because after it gets below reading around 40% it drops slower the lower it gets. 1% will last another half hour screen on time playing a game.

New battery may fix this. I had this jumping around issue a few months ago irrespective of the ROM and it turned out the battery was dying.
My next step is a new battery when I have the money. That's what I think is the problem as well.

1% lasting 1/2 hour screen on is very good what are your battery stats, Mine is about 13 1/2hrs with 30% left using in 3g plus Sync and internet and calls and navigation on AOKP 7/4/13.

With screen on it can go from 100% to 45% in like half an hour or less iv think. Once below 40% it lasts a while. I can get a day out of it moderate use. Should be good once I replace the battery.
