Vibration Intensity - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey, I was wondering if there is any way to some how decrease the vibration of this phone when you get a text message. Like with the iPhone you can make it so that there is a silent vibrate when you get a text or you can make it the normal vibrate. The vibrate of this phone is ridiculous, and sometimes i like that and other times i dont so i was wondering it there is some sort of app where i can toggle the vibration intensity.

Settings -> sound -> vibration intensity ?
(Go to home screen and press the menu button to get to settings menu)

That's only for the haptic feedback. It won't work to decrease the messaging vibration..

[Q] vibrate for phone only?

I'd like to vibrate on phone calls only and not sms, other basic Samsung notifications. Is there an app, workaround to make this possible? The default settings don't offer this option. Stock sms app preferred, not gosmspro.
Thanks!

and keep phone only to vibrate

How to hang up while on speaker phone?

I can do it if I hit the power button to reactivate the screen but it takes so long -from the time I say bye to when the phone call actually ends, which makes for feeble attempts at angrily yelling at significant others then hanging up on them. Not that I'm doing that but the option would be nice. Besides it's just too difficult to just hang up the phone. Help?

lol... that's an "interesting" reason to get a feature for fast hangups haha
and you have significant "others"
Anyway I think this is just a 'feature' of the phone app. At least on the stock phone app, I have the same issue... Call ending on speakerphone is really slow but I don't think it's something anyone can do about it, short of using a new app
Settings > Accessability > power button ends call

But screen wont turn off if that is enabled. It only dims and might as well hit the end button on screen since its lit.

Notification

My phone is put next to my bed. It is very annoying to have the notifications while sleeping. Is there any way to make it silent automatically while sleeping?
y not turn on the blocking mode from settings before sleeping?

Or get tasker app and set a profile to turn it on and off when you want

Can you provide more detail of Tasker App to accomplish this task. Thanks!
Set the ringer to silent or turn on airplane mode. If you're feeling inventive you could buy some NFC tags to change the settings automatically.

Blocking Mode:
Menu> Settings> Blocking Mode> Turn it On, and select what and when you'd like it to be silent. Also can allow certain Contacts to have an Always permission.

Correct!
Or you could just long press the blocking mode toggle in the notifixation bar. It takes you straight there

My notification bar doesnt have am option to toggle? Also, is there a tasker app you would recommend to automate turning it on/off.

What is everybody talking about? Why blocking mode? How about just turn down the notification sound? If you expand volume bars, notification volume ha its own.... useless thread really

Lol I thought the same thing but figured it was too obvious and assumed that maybe it was the notification light that might be waking him up haha
if is it Facebook notifications or mail notifications just go to each app setting and turn the tone to silent or just open the notification bar and press twice on the volume button to turn it silent with no vibration and your alarm will still working

Hi wekebu & kylec,
That is what I need. I am testing it to see if it meets my requirements completely. As Samsung's slogan, it designs for humans!

You need to do it - turns on during the day and turns it down at night everyday.
I use NFC to turn off all lights, vibration and everything. I sleep like a baby hehe. I wake up, NFC again and I'm back in business!

This is automatic; isn't that the beauty of most apps and functions? Every day between the hours of xx & xx Blocking Mode will perform an automatic funtion.
I'm sure you do things that others consider 'useless'. That was an insulting statement.

Really simple question

Hey everyone I'm in Jedi mind trick x3 n im looking for a way to stop the screen from waking when I receive a notification, or press the volume button. Really annoying, the phone has a notfication led for this already

I have no clue about the stock messaging app....all I do with it is turn off notification ....then it will do nothing. And I use handcent. You can set up handcent to not turn on the screen.
I really dislike 3rd party mms replacements :\ but ive noticed basically all roms disregard the notification led ? Never seen it blink once...

This phone does not have a notification LED. With most custom kernels, it has BLN, blacklight notification. Your four button keys will light up for notifications. Slim bean and CM 10 has built in BLN controls. One can also use BLN pro to have them blink.

Quick silence SMS/call notification...

Are there any apps/mods that allow you to silence/mute an incoming notification tone like on the iphone?
For example you are in a meeting and get a text which sets off your text tone instead of reaching into your pocket, removing phone, unlocking it, and stopping tone you just reach in and hit the power button or volume rocker and stop the tone.
Didn't realize how much I did this on my old phone until I couldn't do it on my N2!

If you turn your volume all the way down it goes into vibrate
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda premium
An instant mute....like on the iphone...that doesnt affect volume settings

Why not just put on vibrate when in meeting?
It is in the toggles very easy to access
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda premium
Because I don't want to have to keep toggling my phone settings on and off all day long when all I have to do is just reach in my pocket for brief second and shut it off at that particular moment.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
It takes more than a "brief second" to reach in your pocket, look for the toggle switch on the iPhone and move it... And even then, you may have not toggled the switch in the right direction, thus leaving the ringer on by accident. Trust me, I've done this with all the iPhones I've had. It doesn't matter if the back side has a bulge or is aluminum to help you orient your hand coordination. Your mind would be too focused on not getting unwanted attention while you silence your phone.
The trick for the Note II (at least for stock rom) is hold the power button two seconds, then hold the down volume rocker down until it vibrates, which only takes another second. And viola, it's on vibrate mode.
Im pretty sure if you hit the volume rocker while a call is incoming it will silence.
Correct me if im wrong

You're correct, but I think he wants to toggle it to go on vibrate so if the person happens to try calling a second time, it doesn't ring again.
