[Q] possible hacking camera wave S7230 - Bada Software and Hacking General

hello everybody, and first, sorry if my english is not very good but i'm french man.
i want to buy a samsung wave 723 or S7230, it is small, light, it makes good photo but very poor video recording 320x240.
so, do someone know if it possible to improve video quality and recording to 640x480 30 fps, by flashing with another firmware??
i ask this question because i've seen on xda forum, that for the galaxy ACE (which run with android) is was possible after an update (at the beginning it records at 320x240 15 fps, and after update 640x480 30 fps !!!!!)
maybe i'm dreaming , but i've thought that the same thing couls be possible with S7230. the probleme is the S7230 run with bada.
if someone know something about improving video recording, please tell me
thak you very much.

Artemis and Video recording

Hello there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know that video recording on PDA is bad in each resolution, but is way to record video on Artemis in 320x240? 176x144 is very poor and other PDAs have possibility record video up to 352x244. Artemis probably has "weak" CPU for greater resolution. But know and use anybody some app or patch to increase video recording resolution? I try coolcamera, but it doesn't useful.
yes i would like to know too......
...
Really any experiences?
This would be a great thing i do alot o recording of video with my Artemis, anyone got a good work around for it?
Just bringing this thread back up incase someone has found a solution.
Would some registry hack work to increase video resolution??
Sorry if I'm bumping this old thread, but I didn't want to open one by myself.
So... anyone has a solution for this *lack* of our beloved Artemis?
me too ...
i wanna know if anything i can do to increase the video resolution
Solution?
Have you guys tried change this registry key?
HKey Local Machine\Software\HTC\Camera\ReParam\MP4Large (or Medium or Small).
Change the FramRate value from 10 to 19
*don't exceed 19
I haven't yet, but I heard it works fine......
So?Anybody?

Video quality on HD

Is it possible to improve the quality of video on Htc HD , because its very bad what is realy surprising for me ?
Thanks ?
what u talking about?
i just use encoder from this site and i did resize 800x480 dvd for my HD and i have been stuned from quality, not just me, everybody who did watch that lol
Indeed, I use the encoder aswell and have done most of the tweaks on the forums here and the video quality is excellent now. Even good enough to watch an entire movie on it IMO, which you cant say about a lot of devices.
x-mann and antrak, which player do you guys use to get the enjoyable experience?
wat encoder u all refering to?
Just asking the same damn question

Have a look here:

Projection has made a video encoder especially for the Blackstone / Diamond which combined with the memory card tweak should get you non stuttering videos!
Ok. But this is encoder program for all ready recorded videos , but it does not improve the quality of the video when you are recording it on the HD.
Or am I wrong ???
Thanks !
LMAO you're talking about recording video with the HD's camera
There are some tweaks to improve the quality a little;
- Use Mpeg4 (not H.263)
- Change one registry value: in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Taskmanager\Lite. Change "DesiredMemory" to dword: 8192 (default was 4096) (don't forget to soft reset your device).
- It's better in good lighting conditions
well to be onest...i just bought my HD 1 week before and i use default player, i tryed CORE pplayer but same movie is with worse FPS and i use it TCPMP with subtittle suport but i got low FPS again...maby i need to make some settings, as i said im new on hd, so everyone who got some suggestions to watch movies with subtittle suport im gona apriciated
this is the encoder :

Better Recoding Video Quality with XPERIA CAMERA

Hi brothers, now I wrtie to ask if somebody knows where is the register entry for the xperia camera, I think i found it but it won't show all the entries that the HTC cameras show. The HTC cameras registry entries has all detailed on different folders like JPEG settings, medium quality video, high qualitity video, and stuff like that.
Well, I think that I have the solution for the bad quality video of the xperia when you shake o move your phone, I think you know that I mean. You see always pixelation, and that have various reasons. One is that the video format is very bad quality for, it's only 3GP and we don't have a choice like other HTC Cameras when you have MP4, CIF and other formats. Other reason is the video's bitrate and THIS is our solution.
If we can turn up the bitrate of course we'll have better quality in the videos and we can see especialy an improment in scenarios like sports when we have to move the phone very much. Of course, that bitrate increment become the video more heavy but that's something we have to deal with because the quality worth it.
Other solution is find a way to change the video format to H264 or MP4 and combine the bitrate idea with this video format too.
I have been making some experiments but no luck yet. Any ideas?
Nobody?
I'm sure that somebody can post one good idea. Come on people, you guys make the best HTC's roms and more, I don't think you have no idea about solving this. Somebody?
I think its Sony+HTC problem, not something that belongs to here ...
just like u can't have smile shutter, same ways, u can't change recording format ... may be some time in future, Sony might add support for h264 recording in firmwares, just like they added auto flash and geotag in leaked R3AA/R4AA rom.
Thanks for the reply
Thnaks for the answer! You are totally right in every point BUT I think that waiting is not an option for me because I bought the Xperia almost replacing my HTC TyTN + Sony Camera. I like to record almost all the concerts I go and the Xperia is the right option if we can make some camera improvements. I think if someone give me the xperia camera source code I can do everything by myself, or at least that is that I have in mind
Even, I think we can make a few changes for the camera to allow to zoom when recording video (if somebody haven't done it yet..).
In other hand, where can I find the R4AA rom? I didn't know that was already out. Again, thanks for the reply!

there is no r4aa. he was refering to unknown sourced leaked camera app with geotagging and auto flash, which supposed to be present in r3aa, but never was actually.
zoom facility in the video recording of the xperia is a very welcome step...hope somebody smart enough in the xda forum look forward to it...
I think it could be done, because the camera app uses a system file to access the camera, then it uses a video or picture encoder to produce a picture or a video. If somebody change the encoder and set the new parameters or settings into the camera app i think that it will work.
Exactly
And I'm your men, I wanna do that, but I have to view the source code or something. Where can I find it? Anyone on this forum can give me a hand to start working? Thanks!
I think that the better way is create a new camera app and add lots of features and then sell the app to a company like spb.

[Q] Slow Motion Video

I am just wondering if anyone knows if the 120fps for slow motion video is a hardware cap or is it hard coded into the camera app?
Just curious as to if we know what the capabilities of the Image processor in the phone is - maybe a little tweak here or there and we can get even slower motion video that doesnt blur like being slowed down in software...

The hardware cap is 108fps I think, but I don't think it ever reaches that high. Every slow-motion video I've ever recorded looked like a normal one slowed down a bit.
It's a shame, because the LG Viewty (which was released about 5 years ago) had 120fps video recording, which was absolutely fantastic
I imagine we'll be able to push the fps higher with camera mods though.
As mentioned I've noticed that fast motion is clearer than normal recording just sped up so I think the hardware is doing something. Would be nice to be able to tweak the fps

Slowmotion video
how to fix that ? can custom rom do that ?like ARHD maybe?
I'm sorry for bad english

[Q] gio's camera module

Hi,
I'm trying to identify and subsequently find out technical characteristics of the built in camera module. So far I only managed to find this:
Design: QCA01
Description: ASSY CAMERA-3M(GT_S5660)
SEC code: GH96-05106A
Couldn't find actual datasheet for the chip, besides the name. Has anyone else found out things like max fps and video resolutions, for example?
I'd also like to know things like max iso and shutter speeds
Is this for recording video @480p on our Gio?
maybe. It's good to know if hardware is capable to do that at all. I actually did go through some of samsung's spec sheets and the chips I that saw were 3mpix could shoot even at vga res. o.0
However, I'm coming to a conclusion, that the chip in Gio is not Samsung's make, which is extra weird, to say the least.
Our Gio can record video @480p with LgCamera app and Froyo. There are some videos on Youtube and I also tried and it worked. So... Very strange because Galaxy Mini can record @480p with LgCamera and Gingerbread, why Gio not?
