I just switched from star burst to blazer from and both are great. My question is, when I used to get msg or email the notification light would blink blue instead of red. Now the only time it blinks is when the battery is fully charged. If anyone can give me some suggestions, it would be highly appreciated.
The only thing I can think of is go to settings>display and make sure the "notification Flash" is checked!

yeah, mine is red also, for text messages, voicemails, ect. Although, I think facebook notifications were blue, but I don't have the app installed anymore. When the battery if fully charged, it should be a solid blue, not blinking.
Maybe you guys r right...but for sure on the stock.. it did that. Iam probably just thinking of that. I tried bunch of rooms and none of them has it, I hope it did.
red is the normal notification color. battery full = blue, and some apps you can choose if you want red or blue.
Message is a app right. I just want a notification to show if I.got msg,email,call.. email and msg comes in and the screen doesn't turn on. I mean its not a huge deal but it would be nice
Blue + red= magenta

To get magenta to work select green as your color for notifications. I know weird but that's how it works lol

LOL...I don't care about the color I just wanted to have different color showing there is a msg etc...I guess I am recall lazy and its too much work for me to turn the LCD on.

How to setup that green notification light blinking when i get a new notification (message, whatsapp message, unanswered call etc...)?
Was default in 2.2..but really can't find option in GVillain...
copy/paste from my post in GingerVillain 1.4 on xda
There is an app for led notifications in the market!
It'll do the job for you.
I guess its called Blink!

Thanks but everything's fine after few reboots
Anyone know if there has been a mod/script/patch/app to allow for customisation of the LED notification yet?
Lightflow doesn't seem to work on ICS and haven't been able to find anything else - would love to tweak it - happy to test - my nexus is root ready for anyone wanting to make me a crash test.
Cheers.

Wrong forum really..... But the only 2 options are Lightflow (works for me) or Trackball notification that works with Paul's Rom.

Did you pull that from the market? I get no notice colours? Pro or Free?
Actually, just ran "test all LEDs" under tools, and its come good on LightFlow - random.
Thanks
Mods - feel free to kill.
LightFlow work (check "Run in foreground")
LightFlow works fine for me. Notification LED is only shown when the screen is off.
...If you didn't already know that...
LightFlow works for me about 60-80% of the time. But it's not very reliable.
Light Flow seems to work for me okay so far. The only issue is that the colors aren't "true." What I mean by that is that my "yellow" glow has some red and green in it as well, especially around the edges of the notification light.
Anyone else seeing this?

Not true. You can have it on while the screen is on using lightflow

Trying to see who knows what colors are possible for the notification LED on the SGSIIE4GT. I am rooted, but on any stock (or stockish) ROM there is a red notification LED color and then blue when it is charged. So I flashed over to CM7.2 alpha RC6 (because CM integrated LED controls into the settings menu) but I have no color options. I can only control the pulse. Interesting though is that when running this version of Cyanogenmod, the "charged" notification LED color is magenta. I also tried downloading ChompSMS (which allows you to assign custom LED colors to incoming SMS/MMS notifications) but I got no LED at all! Now running TNz Blend ROM and back to the same old red notification LED and blue charged LED.
Not sure if I am running into limitations of software (or drivers) or if this is a physical limitation of the LED only being capable of three colors (red, blue and magenta).
Anyone know about this?

This has been discussed many times before. You can get red, blue, and magenta is a mix of both. you can use blink from the market to control this but no magenta option.

Sorry for the double post then. On that note, what app do you use to browse forums on your phone? I am using tapatalk and used the search function to find a thread on this topic which brought back no relevant results.
Thanks for your help.

Use the XDA app in the Market.
I know there are a bunch of threads on how to change the color, and I use blink to do it right now myself. However, most of the threads I have read talk of the issue where the colors flash in kinda the opposite way they should, constantly on, blink off then back on. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've been hearing so much about them but I installed them and they don't seem to do anything. I hear everyone talking about it.... could someone tell me what it does for OUR device?

BLN stands for Backlight Notifications, when you get a notification your LED lights on the front of your phone (i.e. menu, home, back, and search buttons) light up. As for "light flow light," idk..

...as long as the kernel youre running supports it
"Light flow" changes the color of your led light, it doesn't work on the sgs2 since we don't have an led.
If you have BLN Pro you can make your backlights blink whenever you have a text message or notification.

Light flow gives you the ability to have bln for all apps. It will not change the color but it will enable bln for whatever you have set in light flow. For example, stock messaging

lol thanks for asking, i was searching for what BLN mean.
Since we don't have LED notifications you guys can check out Dynamic Notifications. Gives a nice clean look to notifications https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greatbytes.activenotifications
What's wrong with Flash Alerts 2? I use it all the time, if you opt for it, you can buy the premium version, I just use the free version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.megawave.flashalerts
He didn't say there was something wrong with it, apparently he prefers that app. Does flash alerts give led notification? I thought it was just a flash from the flashlight.

so basicly the second screen but full screen i dont get it this phone has the best notifications ever just put date and time as your secound screen off mode then turn see all notifications on on the lock screen and boom second screen shows when you miss a call double time the screen and you see who it is. why would you install and app that turns on the screen when you have a second screen just for that. or am i missing something
Can't see it from a distance. Led is great for that.

well i've had notes up untill now and i cant say i missed the led i actually didnt even realize the phone didnt have one till i saw this post. seeing that all it did was say hey unlock your phone something is happening lol now i look and i see oh its just and email back in the pocket you go. i think this is better cause now your phone doesnt have a light that says to everyone i'm checking a message of some kind lol now it just looks like i'm checking the time.
Led was great, color coded for text messages, email, missed calls, etc. But hey, if you are happy, I'm happy for you.

If u go into settings>accessibility>hearing> flash notifications is now an option no 3rd party app needed.

:good: Thanks I was all set to download an app. No need now!
Easy solution to those missing the led, we can just make an app that makes the second screen flash different colors at full brightness. Heck let's turn it on permanently and the screen and go rainbow in equal divisions of color based on the order the notifications come in. I'm tempted to put a /s on this but I think I might actually use it if it became available...

Agreed. The camera led is obnoxious. Brighter, blinking, colored images on the second screen needs to happen.....why on earth are All the second screen notifications white?!
Also.....missed call AND text reminders need to be standard on new devices. Is there a rational explanation why my brand new tech still needs an app for common sense stuff?

they aren't....it is app dependent
i have certain apps that display the notification icon in a different color...i was glad to see this cause it showed it was possible...bright "breathing" color notifications would be awesome

Wow thanks for that!!!
NO LED
IF we can get this app to display on the second screen I think we will have a almost perfect solution:
NoLED app by madmac
For rooted phones w/ Xposed, just get the enable ambient display module.
