Hi guys.
Am I the only one having issues with chrome beta on ics MIUI rom?
I'm using the ported Miui_au rom, with this .Apk:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485420
If anyone could help me, maybe with a fix, or could agree with me, that there is a problem with chrome beta on MIUI?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
Mine doesn't work either on that ROM. I think the hardware acceleration is not the real deal yet. That might have to do with it, however, I'm not sure.
Yes it's s a problem with gpu acceleration. Doesn't work for me either.
I read this in the development thread:
fixed chrome (go to settings-> developer settings-> check force 2d gpu then uncheck. then reboot.

My market chrome version doesn't have that, though. Will try the new version once I have it.
I don't even know why I would want to use chrome for android....

It's in android settings... But still doesn't work... At least not for me.
In the new ROM the chrome beta works for me. Without the aforementioned fix.

Thanks to @eminembdg here's the new Android Market apk. The Android Market is restyled completely, so I think it's worth to download. See also the Google Mobile blog
And because the Dropbox link will exceed it's limits sooner or later, here's a link to Multiupload

Force Close on CyanogenMod Nightly Build
I'll try this
does anyone else think it looks a bit windows phone 7 ish, and also very much like the honeycomb version and also slow with the downloading/refreshing of thumbnails frequently?
or is it just me...

The old market can be found in almost every ROM posted here on the forums. Have the people who have problems tried to let Rom Manager fix permissions? I just deleted the old market from the /system directory and installed the new apk. But I have S-Off and so not everyone has that option.
force closes every time I open it.. (using gingervillain 2.7)
Works Great
Works great on my Desire!!

Hi!
I have tried different Jelly Bean ROMs and on each one Google Chrome fails to render pages, lags and the pages flicker. Anyone else have this problem?
Peace!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But all the JB Roms here are forked from Nikez (Evervolv). The bug is prob with his code base. And yes, it is a common problem

No. You are the only person who has Chrome in unstable JB ROM.

Yes, browsers like AOSP, Dolphin, Firefox or Opera (browser, not mini)... but not Chrome... But there are more uses for Flash Player; for instance. I use it to view TV channels over WiFi and believe me, our Nexus 4 can play video flash content really smooth :good:
I haven't tested it with games, but I guess that will run smooth too.
11.1.115.36 is out

brilliant, works great on CM 10.1 browser, super smooth.
I already test it with facebook games and it works well its like your using a touchscreen laptop hehe..
Awesome. Thanks!

Google have launched a new beta channel for Chrome Android, the new version is now 25.0.1354.8, it is available on the Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.beta
Just done a few tests, in Sunspider it is now as fast as ASOP browser, but scrolling can still be janky, compared to stock Jelly Bean browser, which is disappointing. Try using www.theverge.com, IMO ASOP is still smoother, I now this is beta, but seriously Google please do not release Chrome v25 and still be less smooth than stock browser.
Its just as smooth as the stock browser for me on the verge.

For me scrolling is still laggy until the entire web page loads, also on The Verge, the screen goes blank when you scroll quickly, which doesn't happen on ASOP.
So forgive my stupidity, but what it wrong with the version that came with the N7? Why doesn't Google just patch it instead of a new beta?

The main reason afaik is that Chrome Android was closed source, but Chromium is open-source, Google decided to port Chrome Android back into its open-source browser project, this is not yet complete. Apparently they are targeting Chrome v25 Stable as the completion point, in the meantime we have the new Beta.
crashes way too often and kills the battery on my RAZR. too afraid to try it on my nexus.
i'll stick with full chrome and stock AOSP browser for flash.

Known Issue
"Frequent freeze on devices with specific versions of Qualcomm GPU driver"
You can run Chrome and Chrome Beta side by side, doing so on my Nexus 7, without any problems.
Still no automatic text reflow when using pinch zoom
Is Opera the only browser doing this correctly?

Stock JB Browser IS Chrome. Or did you mean to say the Older (Chrome 18) version compared to the Chrome Beta (25)?
The old browser is "AOSP Browser", or Google seems to refer to it as "Android Browser".

Not if you're using AOSP JB, but to clarify I meant Chrome beta 25 vs AOSP browser.
Anyway this is still beta, so I shouldn't moan, according to a user on the N10 forum, the improved scroll threading is not part of this beta.

I posted this for the nexus 4 users:
This build won't include the new renderer that improves the scrolling as it isn't finished yet (but should be ready by the time the final version comes).
This issue here is the one we've all been waiting for, It should finally improve the speed of the scrolling for good

Thanks OP I've been running it since last night. Seems smoother than stock Chrome but it's probably my imagination.
Been using it since last night, and so far I like it. Seems faster than official version, definitely benchmarks better. I like that you can have both browser simultaneously on the device. At least go nude

Damn auto-correction
It seems to stutter quite a bit for me. I tried it for an hour or so but what kills it is that the page content freezes when switching tabs. Close one tab and the other tab will have the old page on it until either rotating the screen or choosing another tab. Super annoying.

These MIUI links from Chinese servers are always so slow...
How is it? Is it laggy? I find all MIUI roms slow dunno why. They take up too much memory. Hope v5 is better. With all respect to MIUI devs I guess its the device itself having 512 memory.

Just not able to download it. It downloads at 5kbps and fails after around 5 hours anyway :/
Just use a download manager such as JDownloader and it will work guys (idk why, but Baidu is really slow w/o a download manager).
About the rom: downloading at 2mb/s here, but idk if I really want to try it out, thinking about because I'm fixing my gf Defy+ that got some problems after 3 months of use w/ MIUI 2.8.X
Miui V5 for Defy is still under closed beta, I dont know why you share it now.
There are still bugs, dont expect a stable experience this time.
