bootloader LA03 from leaked 4.0.4 cdma build, i successfully flashed (via cwm recovery 5.5.0.4 & fastboot) to my galaxy nexus GSM.

I meant that people had noticed..or from a Dev who had opened it up for a look. That's why I didn't ask for an actual change log lol usually people notice changes quite quickly such as improvements or decrease in performance

Flashing bootloader is always dangerous, method used is not important.

Bootloaders and Radios are independent of Android version. Go ahead.

Does it matter what bootloader you are coming from? Can this be flashed from 4.03?
Also, are there any benefits of flashing a new bootloader besides it looking different?

They're independent of ANYTHING. Go ahead and just flash.
New bootloader = stuff behind the scenes. Will never know unless it comes from Google, it's like flashing a BIOS.

I have no more battery drop after reboot with this bootloader, look like it have a new battery driver.

Probably none.

Could this have messed up access to the market, does anyone else notice that? Market force closes as soon as I click on an app.

I think I've narrowed it down to that though.. Would anyone have the previous bootloader as a cwm flashable zip? Am at work, no pc..

flashed it this morning ... no issue so far ... also market works

Is this how to flash back to stock bootloader?

I never flashed back to stock bootloader, so I don't quite know the process, but do you just go on cmd and then tell it to flash to stock bootloader? Just like how I flashed to cwm? I know I might be asking something obvious but I just wanna know for sure...
Also can anyone send me a link to stock yakjuux bootloader? Thanks a ton!

Use the search feature. There's a guide on how to bring it back to stock.
You fast boot flash the stock images provided by Google.

I'm sorry, I was trying to say recovery, cuz if I want to change the cwm, I need stock recovery, no?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I think you might have some confusion between the Recovery and Bootloader. The bootloader generally doesn't change.. it might get updated, but there really aren't modified bootloaders (to my knowledge). The Recovery is what people usually change. CWM and TWRP are common recoveries, for example.
Both can be changed through fastboot pretty easily.

without an unlocked bootloader... no not really. even if you used ODIN, it would unlock the bootloader then relock it.
is it really so hard to type: fastboot oem unlock ?

You don't need a locked boot loader or stock recovery. OTA's apply fine with unlocked boot loaders and custom recoveries.
You will need a stock /system though and any other file that's being patched.

The OTA won't apply automatically with a custom recovery. You have to move the file and flash it manually.

TWRP recovery

Hey Guys, coming from the Samsung galaxy nexus. Receiving my s4 in a few days.
Just a few question to install twrp:
1.Root using motochopper
2. Install goo manager
3. Install TWRP
4. Funfun
Are those the correct steps? Thanks!

I think unlock bootloader should be in there somewhere.
Isn't tmobile s4 boot loader already unlocked?

I'm used to my Galaxy S2 I guess. It never said custom. Tried Odin k0ane's stock file. Still says custom. I thought I was going to have to return the phone. It started using hotspot data for all data. I was almost to my 500 meg limit. A factory reset fixed it and Tmo gave me an extra 2gb hotspot data for this month only for free.

Official is all stock factory system. Custom means you altered the system and your warranty is probably void. That's why people try to flash back to stock if they need to get their phone repaired or replaced.

Take a look ant the N2 and S3 forums - they have threads on returning to stock and i am sure we will see one here - AS SOON as and only when an official Samsung TMo firmware is available.
If you break or brick your device before then you will have to wait before sending it in to Samsung or TMo.

I can't believe sammobile hasn't gotten the firmwares posted yet. Isn't this unusual? Doesn't Samsung usually release the firmware almost immediately?
Does anyone know why that when I download something to my internal sd card and then boot into twrp and try to install it the file is missing in the download folder. Am I doing something wrong? i'm coming from cwm and things are a lot different. Any help would be great thanks
