Guys i wanna flash my Epic 4g to boost but the phone i have on boost is a samsung replenish can i do it using that phone?
I'm not an expert but it should be no problem as long as you are able to pull the required info as per the "epic 4g to boost...getting the data working" thread. That thread uses an incognito as donor but my understanding of why so people use that phone is its just a low cost 3g phone that most don't mind retiring permanently after the switch.

I'm assuming that phone is a 3g phone at the least so yes you should be fine if you follow the proper steps

there should be no reason why you can't. the replenish is a cdma phone, the epic is a cdma phone. just make sure you have all the required files needed.

Who here current has their Epic on Boost Mobile?
I currently have straight talk and it was OK, but now i feel it sucks. The Verizon towers have to reset my signal on my phone from time to time which drains my battery, I cant send texts to one particular person, etc ... Anyone have boost? And how is it?
When you say you have Straight Talk, do you mean your Epic is on Straight Talk? I don't know anyone who has Boost but from the thread in Dev about getting 3G working it seems everything works with the epic their except 4G which is to be expected.
For Boost in General, if you have great Sprint Service everywhere you go and don't Roam then Your experience should be the same on Boost, but it all depends on what area you are in. Kind of a hard thing to generalize.
Thanks man .. and yeupp i have it on straight talk .. and i dont like it too much.. wanting to switch, but wondering if its a good idea to switch too boost mobile.
I have an epic 4g on boost and it works great, I think its the same as sprint just a lot cheaper and no 4g. I hope they put wimax on boost so maybe the 4g towers can work. And are you sure you have simple mobile on your epic because the epic doesnt have a sim card so you can't use it with simple mobile.

More than likely, this thread is going to drown fast since I know very few are on MetroPCS. I use to get awesome signal, but after reporgramming my epic, the latest prl I could find, kinda sucks here. The one I had before was better.
My MetroPCS prl: 3023

No 4G for metro from the Epic, it is Wimax only.

This. ^ Metro does have 4G but it is LTE, unless the Wimax driver gets a software upgrade in the future, no Metro 4G currently possible. Though you can still pay for Sprint 4G service if you turn on the 4G radio and pay for a 24 hour pass for like 15 bucks.

Sorry for asking (i know it's one of those annoying questions):
I was wondering if I can buy the Epic 4G and use it with Boost Mobile.
A friend wants to sell me his Epic (he is moving to an iPhone), but I don't want to commit to Sprint. I would rather do a month by month.
THANK YOU !!!
Yes but you'd have to buy a donor phone for the process. Its a process of flashing and you have to know your stuff before attempting to do this there is a guide on here if you search for "epic 4g flash to boost mobile" should bring you to the guide.

Maybe over the phone, if you don't mention it not being a "Boost branded" device, and just give them the ESN. I've heard of this working with Sprint Blackberrys on Boost Mobile.
Do let us know if it works!

Ha I highly doubt it. You have a sprint phone. The boost version of this phone is a boost phone. Your esn will register as different on the network. Not saying its impossible but I highly doubt it.

an odin will NOT even touch the esn of your phone. so you wont have to reflash but maybe reconfigure a little.
boost is ran off of sprint. having the operator name to sprint instead of boost mobile is fine, although you need to change your apn to mm.myboostmobile.com,
I would leave my phone alone if I found out I couldnt even post in the right forum.... Thats just me though.

A simple Google search found this as the 1st result:

Please ask your questions and get your ROMs from the correct Epic Touch forum, not the Epic 4G.
