As you can see from the flag to the left I'm from Brazil. I've flashed OKV3 and it has support to portuguese from Portugal only (yes, it IS different). I mean the system language, not the input only.
I was wondering...is there a way to extract some kind of language file from my original BR rom and add it to OKV3?

hey..
in my country (israel) we have the israeli rom from "newpan" company .
but I prefer a XDA cooked Rom.
What I need is the language issue.
Here is the ROM + Hebrew file updates the language,
emphasis the (hebrew) dialer actually missing...
The problem they have committed a form of protection install
by the IMEI of the device, so devices Not purchased through them
can not update this file ...
Can remove the protection?? or at least extract the files of hebrew dialer support my language (Hebrew)?
Many thanks in advance for those who help me

Hi,
I got a Desire which has only English and French language support.
HTC told me that even they are not able to add additional languages, since Android is setting the language according to a specific file in the file system.
So if you are installing a new firmware, only the selected languages are installed, even that all languages are included in the firmware file.
My question now, is it possible to add additional languages, or change the file that with the next firmware upgrade additional languages are installed?
Thanks
Good day to all
I have samsung i467, I've done ROOT
I want to change the location. I want to change the language. but my language is not in the list.
how to add new languages to the setting? or as perearo**** android with other languages?

Hey guys, my dad bought the t700 few days ago, and its impossible to change the language to russian. He doesnt understands english, and the only available languages are english and different asian languages...
I have the lollipop Saudi ROM (only cause it has latest changelist) and it seems to have Russian. I would suspect all XXU ROM to have Russian. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list though. Because it's not written in ascii, it is sorted below all other languages

Is flashing a different region the only way to get access to other languages? Would I be able to get Norwegian on US tablet using the Cellular South rom?
You could add the desired language to the language.xml under system/csc/ but you need to have root access for that. Display and input languages can be added/enabled. For Russian you would have to add ru_RU for example.
I'm using Locale Pro app. You'll need to follow the instruction they have when u try to change language. Worked for me. At some point u will need to put yr tablet into the development mode by tapping on the Build number seven times.
Is it possible to flash an EU rom like B or E instead of the U1 one?
I need the rom to be in dutch and none of the U's are in dutch as far as i know
My phone model is SM-G990u1/ds
Or is there an other way i can install a Dutch language pack?
B/E/U/W/0 etc. are different models based on different regions like Europe/ Asia/ USA/ Canada/ China. You cannot switch ROM from one model/region to another.
But installing a new language pack systemwide is easy and can be done from settings> General Management> language> Add Language.
I did the language pack but sadly it doesnt translate all, just the apps, all system text ia still english
