Dead battery and a warranty - General Accessories

Hello
My battery is dead - it's bigger than it was and it's only for ~3h of usage.
My phone is at a warranty(almost 1 year left), but at accesories like batery is there is 6 months of warranty.
If I bring my phone to Samsungm they can replace this battery with new one, or they will tell me to buy it from them?
During the call it last for 5-10minutes, so this makes this phone not usable so they should replace it, but... What do you guys think?

They will most likely charge you for a new battery...best bet would be to buy a replacement on ebay or amazon from a reputable seller.

I concur, definitely checkout ebay or amazon. I would say try to make a call to Samsung and make your argument. If you keep fighting it they might give in especially if you can somehow convince them that you are a loyal customer. My friend did that with his defective TV and they upgraded him after arguing on the phone for 30 minutes.

Yup
I ordered on the first day and got Black. I must say it was a bit of an impulse buy but after reading all the reviews and watching the videos I think I will be really happy!
When are they supposed to arrive?
They are supposed to ship them at the of April, so you will get them in May...
By the way, you can get the student discount applied even if you have already ordered..
Simply send them a support ticket with your order ID and voucher ID - you will get €39 back to your PayPal then.
-> final price €360.
They actually refund 40 €
That is an excellent bit of advice, thanks!
Bad news on the delivery times actually as I think I had it in my mind that it would be arriving next week . I'd better remove the ad I put up for the old phone...

How's the screen under sunlight?
Are the speakers loud enough?
Can you please upload the stock camera app?
No idea as I don't actually have it yet These questions and more can be answered once they actually ship it.

Here in US it is on preorder as well. $500 looks like a good deal considering competitors SGS5 $700 and HTC 1 M8 $700 as well. I use phone mostly for playing HD music so audio chip is essential for me. Unfortunately it isn't revealed, so I only keep hope that Oppo being a company putting certain efforts on creation different consumer electronics can do audio reproduction right. I do not know how Kamerton player will look on this so high resolution screen. It can switch to tablet mode and I would like to avoid it.
Anybody else consider SGS5 and HTC 1 and what was your take?

I've just placed my order yesterday as well.
nice to see another UK user here! XD
Just got the student discount applied! Sweet, thank you Oppostyle
I ordered mine last week. The black US version. Looking forward to it. I hope they start shipping soon!! :good:
I considered both of these but ultimately went with the Oppo because the price was right for an off -contract phone and I'll want to pick up a new one next year after seeing the Qualcomm 2015 roadmap, so not prepared to get tied into an 18-24 month contract!
Also I wanted to give Oppo a chance, they seem to be taking some risks in terms of phone design and I've had the last two Galaxy S versions so something different is on the cards. I may well be the only person in Ireland that buys one, but if there are any other Irish buyers out there you don't have to feel lonely anymore!

S5 and M8 are huge disappointments for me... Oppo Find 7a seems to be a perfect phone for me... Just the Color OSwith Android 4.3 and the huge display are things I am not that happy about... But we will see
Picked up mine last month in an Oppo shop in Shenzhen while I was traveling around in China. Very happy with it so far, although I wasn't able to install Google services until yesterday.
Eagerly waiting for some custom roms now!
@vegetaleb: The screen is pretty good under sunlight I'd say. I found the screen to be brighter and clearer than my HTC One M7.
Are the speakers loud enough?
YES! When you turn on MaxxAudio, you'll want to go into the settings right away and turn down the volume. I haven't compared the quality of the speaker to my HTC One yet (it has stereo speakers in the front feat. Beats), but with MaxxAudio turned on you can crank up the bass, treble, volume, etc. This way the sound is pretty awesome for a phone! It's And when using your ear/headphones the sound is just perfect.

[Q] Battery replacement OEM or high quality.

I was reading all the post and no body says if already get a new battery replacement for the Nexus 5, I'm in the USA for vacation and I want to buy one battery for a future replacement. Please share your experience with us or say where can we buy a new one (OEM or equivalent)in a store or online. Thanks.
You will get the same type of original battery. And opening your nexus 5 may void warranty (LG services center "conditions apply" ). But for future replacement, I don't think anything will happened to this battery. LCD Screen (with digitizer assembly) should be your choice for future replacement.
So for USA, you can buy battery here is your link: (Its original battery.)

I've recently read about a replacement with the lg g2 battery, which lasts longer (300 mah) but has the same size. As soon as possible I'll post the link, just looking for it

Destroying your phone for an extra 300mAh doesn't seem reasonable to me, but to each their own.

It's generally not recommended to buy a battery for "future replacement" because the battery is always degrading even just sitting on your shelf. It's recommended to buy a replacement battery only when you require the replacement battery.

Thanks for the explanation, but I have to do it because I am from Colombia and there is really difficult to get an OEM battery for the Nexus 5. So I want to take advantage while I am in USA and buy it.

Oh I see, I guess ordering it online isn't really an option from your home country? I don't think there will be any retail store with OEM Nexus 5 batteries, I think you would need to get it from a website such as etradesupply or equivalent.

You are right, we don't have a retail store who sell OEM parts or an official LG service, so I have to buy it here. In Colombia you can buy original parts for the most popular cells in the country but the Nexus 5 isn't one of them because they (Google) don't sell it there. I have to import it
I bought my nexus 5 directly in the play store, I have to buy the battery for the D820 version, for the D821 version or it doesn't matter? Thanks to all.
They all have the same internal specs. The battery should be fine, just as the screens and anything else.

If you want to buy only 1, then LG service center (with warranty you get). If you want more in quantity then try that site.
cant you just buy one on eBay and have it posted to you when you need a replacement? as someone said earlier if you buy a replacement now but don't use it for a year it will not be as good as a new battery
There are a lot of fake batteries on eBay so buyer beware.

I had a chat with LG and they asked me to send my phone to their service center in Texas... I wasn't able to ask for the price because the chat was cut off... nvm... I just bought a new Galaxy S4 again as a backup phone.
Best bet, for my money: https://lg.encompass.com/item/10389517/LG/EAC62078701/Rechargeable_Battery,lithium_Polymer. Originally posted here, Post 175.
I haven't decided to replace mine, yet. Fortunately, I can charge often and carry a power bank.
I bought the Polarcell 2450 mAh on the bay, for 23€
Battery life is now simply amazing.
Charging time is a little bit long (I don't enable the fast charge kernel option that scr#wed my previous original battery)
I couldn't reccomend it more. I can do a whole day with intense use.
Of course I use greenify, and tweak some CPU/voltage options
I use PureNexus ROM

New battery for Honor 6 - where to buy, which one

Hi,
I would like to ask if anybody ordered new battery in their HH6? I see that I can buy the new battery for ~10$ and also for 25$.
Which one is better way to buy? Which is "more original " Is any difference between them?
I care about quality, not the price, but I also don't want to overpaid.
Buy it from Vifocal.com
I brought Honor 6 Battery from them. They ship free of cost and within 10-12 days. The Battery is original and have been working great after 6 months. It also costs lesser - USD $8.99

Copy the code on the battery. And search on google for the battery
I just found one for £10 on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wileyfox-...868658?hash=item3ac37d3ff2:g:TPAAAOSwubRXHoyG
These all use the same battery, so maybe you have any luck finding replacements for them i found some for the i-mobile iQ II 8150 on e-bay
- CM-11D (for Cherry Mobile G1 H220)
- AJZH53Y1529 (for General Mobile 4G / 4G Dual GM-113)
- BL-267 (for i-mobile iQ II 8150)
- SWB0115 (for Wileyfox Swift)
Looking at their webpage, they've added official replacement batteries marked with "Register your interest". If they manage to get them out in the next couple of months, I'll be pretty happy.
https://www.wileyfox.com/accessories/
And now the battery is for sale on their website.
I looked at Wileyfox's in the end of november for the batterys, these where "out of stock", i told them that i was interested in these
I waited 4 weeks, then i bought the batterys at AliExpress:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-8...1a91-4331-a6bb-89bbc34c17a8&priceBeautifyAB=4
At 21.01.2018 i got am Mail from Wileyfox, that the batterys are available..
Some days later, after four weeks, i got the batterys for AliExpress. Should be manufactured at 30.11.2017.
https://www.wileyfox.com/en/accessories/swift-mobile-phone-spare-battery/
In the past week Wileyfox e-mailed 2 notifications that they're in stock, both times they were sold out within hours. I trust the originals better over the no-name battery, so i'll try to order the next round.
Will order this one and report back
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Battery-WILEYFOX-SWIFT-2500mAh-Replacement-internal-battery-/222652712834
Just to let you know, Wileyfox official site offers official batteries for sale again ! I've just ordered one to see if it's worth the buy (It's really expensive with shipping costs, 38 € for France). I'll let you know about the quality after a few tests. I'm a bit worried because photos on the website shows front with no S/N, which led me to think it's only shi*** Chinese battery, which I've already bought for 10 €. Even for this low price, it was really a bad deal because the battery self-discharges in only a few minutes from 100 to 70 %, without using the phone. After that it has a quite short range, and eventually the phone will turn off during use under 30 %...I hope the "official" battery can't get any worse !
And here is the battery, all I can say for the moment is that the delivery is quick !
https://photos.app.goo.gl/aA1LvTNDnLuHCXv3A
Luckily, it seems to be an official one (same weight and size as my original one), but he manufacturing date is 2015/12/17, so it's the original batch - a bit old isn't it ?
I'll give it a test for a few days and will report back.

It's either remaining stock from the first production run or even likely to be recycled from a phone returned under warranty. WF binned the Swift even before being taken over by STK and have done their best to wash their hands of their original customers.
:crying:
Replacement batteries have long been a source of contention for Swift owners in particular. We badgered WF about this for well over a year and in the end they just sent us one gratis...

Front glass broken

Hi there,
today I dropped my phone on the street and the front glass got broken. The phone is still fully working. Touchscreen and everything else works without problems.
A couple of months ago I changed the front glass of a Samsung Galaxy S4 with all the necessary stuff, e.g. loca glue. For the first trial the result was acceptable. No reading the other threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3522863
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3592043
most of the posters don't recommend the replacement of the front glass. On ebay I can find both only the frontglass (about 10€) and the full suited display (about 135€). If I take an offer from china, the price would lower to 65€. Another option would be to send the phone to Oneplus and let those guys repair it.
Now the decisions I have to made:
Just buying the front glass: Would be an option, if it is the same difficulty like the Samsung phones. But I've found only one Youtube Tutorial. At 1:45 he puts something on the screen, but not sure if it's clue or just something to clean.
Buying a display from China: for about 65€ would be also ok. This can take up to 6 weeks of shipping. And in some forums I've read the quality should be much lower than the original parts from Oneplus. Does anyone have any experience about this?
Sending to Oneplus ist the last option. But this depends on the price. I opened a ticket and now I'm waiting for their offer.
What would you recommend? Has anybody changed the frontglass and can tell me about the success?

Open the ticket mate. No fuss. You'll get your device going in maximum 2 weeks. I tried replacing the glass myself and failed, I cracked the screen half way through...
Buying from eBay... Idk, but if people say they're not original, why Risk? Then again there's the struggle of doing it yourself.
The cheapest and safest is to send it to ONEPLUS.
Cheers

I have replaced hundreds of screens in devices and for the most part it is cheaper and far easier then anything else.
Im about to replace my USB port myself as soon as my tool kit gets here on Monday.
I would never send a device to the OEM to be fixed. It will cost you twice as much plus the time without a device is just stupid.
I have always trusted these people with all the stuff I need to repair. Never trust some random Youtube video.

57 Euros doesn't sound bad actually especially if it's the regular screen.

What? It may suck to send your device away but why are you saying they charge you twice as much? That's misinformation. I sent mine and it only cost 80£ (labour and shipping included). Where can you buy an original display for 80 quid? Even the Knock offs from eBay cost more than that.

You are not adding in the cost of buying g another disposable device to use for the weeks your device is gone. That's for you. Do you know how much it would cost from the US for a repair?

Great! The price surprised me. When my LG V10 died I sent it in thinking it was going to be a free repair for the bootloop issue.. $400 USD to replace motherboard. **** that lol

That's the issue is being in the states. It will always be a lot more expencive coming from there then from anywhere in Europe.

Yep! Not gonna pay $400 to repair a device that is literally $100 something on Ebay or Swappa, and I am definitely not going to pay $400 for a device that is guaranteed going to bootloop again in only a years time. So I spent $300 and bought a new OP3. Originally got the V10 because as someone coming from IOS, I automatically thought all Android phones could be unlocked and rooted with ease, with some o them sweet custom ROMs. This guy didn't do his research and ended up with using LG's, horrible, horrible (I cannot stress this enough) software. Not to mention the extra thick layer of AT&T bloat behind it. I don't really care about the hardware in a phone, as long as its good enough to have the software run good.

I hear you there. I had a g2 for a while. Then moved to the nexus but the 6 had issues dealing with the cold. So got the 1+3 for a steal from a dev. To be honest. I wanted to hate it because the CEO is an idiot. But other then some crappy BT issues when on a weak wifi connection. (licensing issues I'm sure) and the fact it won't work with my smart watch. I really can't complain about about.
I replaced my Motherboard and Battery by sending it to Oneplus. I do live in the EU so that could be a big difference. But a DHL driver picked it up on Monday. And I got it back the same week on Friday fully repaired without additional costs. A screen replacement here costs about €100 which is not expensive at all.. The problem mainly is that original parts are very rare and mostly fake.

I used DHL for the first time Getting the USB port. Ordered it before Xmas and got it 2 weeks later. I was impressed with DHL as they went out of their way to make sure I got the package.
