[Q] Install a new rom / Clockwork

Please can someone from the forum tell me i have been sent a direct link to signed Gingerbread rom, and im currently rooted and s-off using the 1st rmcmix rom, but i just want Gingerbread offical i have root and have the link as stated but i need to flash.
I cant remeber if it is change the name of rom before flashing to
update.zip or something along those lines, any advise would be greateful.
Apologies for the bad english i have root and want a full working non changed rom of gingerbread.

WELL, FIRSTLY...i´m not fully understand but i believe that you want its
1-root your device? you said in the same phrase " i´m currently unrooted" and then you said "i have root"
2- you are using I THINK RCmix..but you said "rmcmix".(how can be possible that you have an unrooted custom rom?)
3-in adition you named the thread "clokwork"...has you got the recovery? yes? no?
4-are you sure that you want a WEE OFFICIAL 2.3X BUILD? or you want a gingerbread custom rom? like rcmix....
Conclusion: it would be good and in addition necessarily that you were clarifying your question thank you

Need testers for ROM...

Hey guys. I finally tried to make a rom with dsiXDA's android kitchen. It wasn't so difficult as I used the cooked rom Creeds ROM by Pratush.Creed - Plz tell me whether its looks have changed or its still the same! [THE REASON NOT TO POST IN DEVELOPMENT FORUM IS BECAUSE I CAN'T TEST IT]
I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE SOMEHOW!!!
It cannot be hard bricked as no custom bootloaders are involved only custom roms. It can maximum soft brick your device which is easily recoverable. I can't test this as the Galaxy Y I have is not my belonging but of my brother. (ELDER)brother to be precise. Testers get credit.
So plz tell me about its looks and the features. If it works I will try to add calculator.

any screens? im interested to test, but what rom is this? it should be in the Development section

would be cool if you wrote something as to which modifications were made.
did you remove bloatware ? special settings ? which languages / CSC in place ?

m not able to install anything,installation abotred,,Maybe my stock does not support itI tried stock recovery as well as the three cwm

I have already told you this is made from cooked rom by Creed.Pratyush so most of the things are by him. I can't share screens because I don't own this phone, my brother does. So you have to be the one to tell me. It has everything that creeds rom has. Including SuperUser support.
So you will have to tell me about that....

Edit: There was an error. Below is the error line.

I tried wiping data, install via CWM by MadTeam and Skin. Same result as above.

How to Flash Custom ROM?

Hi,
Does anybody know any easy to follow guides or steps to installing custom roms on the Galaxy W. I have upgraded from an Xperia X8 and it seems more complex than that.
Any assistance is appreciated

Yeah i did check that forum but i couldnt realy find anything which is relatively easy enough to follow in order to install CWM.
I havent as yet rooted the device or done anything else. However it is running the latest Samsung firmware and isnt carrier locked.

Arco68 has posted a cwm recovery in the galaxy w hacking and development section. You can use Odin (simple way) or adb (complex way) to flash cwm. Then once this is done you can go into recovery. You will notice many things are different to standard recovery. Go into install rom rom sdcard (hint that you need a rom on ur SD) and it will flash the rom you choose. Simplez. PS. If your gonna choose a rom I'd recommend cyanogenmod (currently in alpha but not many bugs and still good)

This is one of the MUST learn for developers. I think the procedure is simple enough. Read carefully a few times, u should be able to make it.

How to deodex the SGW I googled the web but couldn't find the solution..!!
I need to install some themes but its written that the rom should be deodexed so please anyone knows the way...?!

Have u rooted ur rom? if u manually deodex ur rom now, u might not be fully deodex all apps. I would recommend u to flash a custom ROM for simplicity. All the custom ROM here are deodexed.

Yup its rooted but I dont want to install custum roms because none of them I find is sutible for me ...!!!
And iam wondering if i installed custom rom can I revert to the stock one...?
Thats what worries me the most

Sure you can.....revert I mean!!
As a matter of fact, you can revert to exactly what you have at this moment in time.
Have you got ClockworkMod Recovery....
if not, you must install.
When you have CWM.. you just got to make a Nandroid Backup...which is a complete copy/image of your current setup.
This can be restored at any time, bringing your device back to what is your current setup!!!

Thanks very much so now i think i will install the CWM recovery....but the problem is there is no good rom that meets my needs except arco68's rom but the cam isn't working!!!
Btw do you know a good custom rom you tried and was good...??

My friend, I don't know where you get the idea that there is no good rom
How do you come to that conclusion???
Please tell us, as you are obviously an expert!!!
What are your conclusions, having flashed numerous ROM's?? no doubt.....
You should be careful how you phrase what you say.....
you probably mean no offence....
but you have just offended the entire Voluntary Developer Community for this device.....
as in guys/gals working for us for no money,
think again!!!!

Ohh my bad i didnt say it right will i meant i didnt find any rom that meets my needs thats all.
Sorry i think iam a noobie not an expert though i know too much about computer and android but not that good to be a dev.
And iam sorry i sure mean no offence....but you know what i mean like lets say....arco's rom is very nice except the most important thing to me is isnt working (the cam).
I really need the cam and i will want to have a an ics rom or a good rom and install an ics theme on it...!!!

So after all can you suggest me a rom that you tested and like it ...?

[Q][HELP]

Hi there, im looking to replace my stock recovery with a custom one.
I don't want to install cwm.
Maybe you know about a different recovery that will work with Gio ??? I ask TWRP and it does not support galaxy gio.
My gio runs custom rom based on stock, the kernel and recpvery are also stock, this why i dont want cwm, too much of a risk with that after reading the sticky post in this forum.
Maybe one of guys here can enlighten me a bit.
