I selected the music app and yelp will open instead. In order to fix this i have to restart. I'm on 4.0.2 GSM.
Anyone else having this issue?

Try going to Apps/All/Music/Clear Defaults or Clear Data. Go to Yelp and do the same.

It happens from time to time with my LTE Nexus. It's an issue with either the launcher of the touch driver becoming miscalibrated. Either reboot your launcher (or if that doesn't work) reboot your phone. It will clear the problem for a while.

I have this issue frequently with the stock messaging app. I never have to reboot. Just force stop the app and it will release.

I've only had it happen with music app... had it happen on ICS on my dinc too
Sent from my CM9 TouchPad
This happens mostly when you are in an app already, and then open up an app via the pull down notification. Then when you exit that last app you are pressing home instead of back. This there is an app running on top of the app u are trying to use

You don't have to restart your phone at all. Just swipe away all apps in the multitasking tab. Job done.

I get this often. My honeycomb tablet has the same problem... It's an android issue that likely won't be fixed anytime soon...

That's really strange because it works for me on 4.0.2 (it worked on 4.0.1 as well).

Lol actually happens to me with the stock messenger app and this premium xda app. All the tine in fact just now lol. I just swipe both apps away and reopen. Funny bug. must have something to do with the multi tasking orders.

Hi guys. So, now when we have Jelly Bean and all things are really smooth, what's the slowest/most lagging app on your phone?
Ironically for me it's the official XDA app.
XDA app stutters like crazy. Surprisingly, Facebook is really smooth.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
the youtube app is the slowest to open (1-2 sec after u tap the icon) , whereas other apps mostly open instantly.
as for lags and stutters well there is a big list of such apps, xda is definitively one of them
I am the slowest thing on my phone - everything else - super fast.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Netflix is still laggy when I open it, but that's not the phone's fault. Everything else seems to be up to par.

Do you exit from apps with back button? For the first time it relly takes about two seconds, but later it loads instantly if i exit from app with home button.
Power Amp is the slowest to open on my phone, but once I'm in, it's fast.

Indeed. Isn't it the whole point of home button? I always exit apps with home button so they open instatly later.

Does anyone have App Drawer lag? if you leave the app drawer long enough and don't use it, then when it comes to using it and you open it, does it lag a tiny bit for the first swipe?
I don't know if it's just me getting that but it's random and looks like it's sticky or something.

What launcher you're using? I use Nova launcher and it's buttery smooth. Also lag could be caused by inproper CPU speed/governor settings.
I am using apex launcher and its very smooth.no lags or something.

the lag I notice most is loading the dialer, idk if its really "lag", but its not as instant loading as messages lol
Hi,
I've been experiencing a very weird issue lately. Yesterday I opened whatsapp and the UI was different. The contact list option was at the bottom along with 2 other options, which is otherwise at the top right corner. I thought maybe its a newer version but when I checked today, the ui was back to the older one. I checked on Google play in case there's an update which somehow got mixed up, but there wasn't. Then I remembered it had happened before with Facebook. A month back the fb app showed a different outlay which went back to older one the next time I opened it.
Anybody has an idea about it or anything similar?

Apps changing UI? How's that even...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Changed your DPI lately? Certain DPI will, if coded in the app, change the layout. I.e I'm using 240 DPI and the messaging app has 'new message' at the top rather then the bottom for standard 320dpi, same as gmail labels and options have shifted to the top also.

yup i noticed it with facebook several times, even took a screenshot of it .. i always thought of it as a "version in preparation" , and thought it was only a fb thing

Yesss! This is the exact same UI I saw once. Similar thing happened with whatsapp. I wonder what this is.

I had that same Facebook UI the other day!! I thought the app updated.
Weird. Now it's gone.
Actually u can replicate it with fb. Just log out while u're not on ur news feed or timeline pages, for example visit a friend's timeline, and then log out, then log in again. It may not work every time, but i seem to be able to replicate it that way
P.s. usually the ui changes to the old one (the regular one) spontanously after a few clicks.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Thanks @rayiskon. I think I reinstalled fb when that happened. I guess your method would also work. However, the different whatsapp ui was actually better and more convenient, don't know why they changed it if it really was an older version of it.

I have been turning on the camera app and having it sit black with all the app buttons (settings, flash, etc.) not working. 5 seconds later, the screens shows what the camera is pointing at and the settings begin to work again.
If it freezes, i click the home button, hold the home button and clear the camera app, and open the camera app again, the camera will work.
Anyone have a similar issue?

every time i click a link in youtube it pops up with the message
clear defaults
clear default app settings by going to settings, applications, manager, all
even if i tell it to open with the youtube or internet app by default and select every time it asks me this same question every single time.
is there any way to stop this from happening? obviously, it is a touchwiz thing because its never happeend on any other devcie i've owned. so annoying.
It was on my nexus too..Obviously not running touchwiz.. seems to almost be a bug with the note. When you select to use that app every time, i would think it shouldn't come back up. .I've noticed it too

Has anyone else noticed that there a noticeable lag when turning off the screen? The slight fade out animation seems to stutter and there is about a 1-2 second delay from when i press the power button to it actually doing something. This is probably one of the weirdest places for a phone to lag.
Anyone else have this problem?
I'm running on stock rooted BTW.
EDIT (more info): This doesn't happen right after a factory reset. I takes a bit of time for it to happen which makes it seem like some app messing it up, but it happens even if there isn't anything installed besides the default stuff.
