I was looking at the extended battery and came across this. I have a Diztronic case and I'm wondering if the Nexus will fit. If not, can you recommend other docks like this one?

Anyone have any thoughts?
would be nice if it had vent mount
According to the dimensions, this should work, even with the Diztronic case on it. I am looking for something similar. Will have to consider this ... I would like a fab up a USB to the bottom of a mount so the phone could slide into it and mount on the usb. Might look to ghetto though.
Very interesting, tired of waiting for the 3-pin dock to come out
I think I will just go ahead with ordering this one. Even if the 3 pin one comes out, I am fairly certain it wont work with a case anyway. I will post a review when I get it!
I think it's ok, use with USB car charger should be fine

I have the otterbox commuter case and the car dock. It looks like it would almost fit in the dock except for the rubber surrounding the usb port. Has anyone tried cutting off the rubber to see if it would fit? I don't want to do it if someone has already tried and failed.
Thanks

I wouldn't ruin such a nice case for that reason alone. But I'm sure it would fit if you removed the plastic insert on the car dock. The Commuter doesn't add too much bulk. You also might need to devise a way for the top clip on the dock to secure itself.
It shouldn't be too difficult to remove when you need to use the dock, is it?
I have the Defender, and instead of purchasing the Car Dock, I shopped around and got a general car mount that was adjustable to be wide enough with the Defender case on my phone (only just barely!). Had to remove the rubberized padding, but fits perfect and can still connect my car charger.

Without the car dock you cannot access the car interface. At least not yet but perhaps people who root the phone will come up with a way.
Never looked into the Car interface. I use it for handsfree and also for the Google Maps Navigation app.
Haven't looked into the Car interface at all, what is different with that feature? Might have to consider digging into it hehe
Ok, manually running my Car Dock application without the Car Dock.
I am using Super Manager for my root explorer, and I used it to manually launch it while sitting here at my desk.
Will go USB and make a walkthrough using screenshots until someone finds another, easier way to do this.
Seen someone has written a guide for this using ADW.Launcher already.
Link here on xda forums using ADW.Launcher.
Here is my guide using manual launching and also setting up shortcuts using Launcher Pro
Can anyone recommend a car dock that works with a dashboard beanbag, so I can avoid doing the windshield suction cup?
I'm using the Verizon branded iGrip dock that I got from the Verizon store with my corp discount, it comes with a plastic disk you can stick to your dash if you don't want to put it on the window. I'm pretty sure if your beanbag mount has a similar disk on it that the dock would work with that. If you want I can try to snap a few pics later after work and post them up here.
Clingo Car Mount
Anybody ever seen or used one of these? Im going to go pick one up tomorrow just kinda wanted to know what they were like ahead of time.

Has anyone found a mount that works with a case, say the Seidio case?
You could check out Ram Mounts. You can basically make your own holster for any device and pick how you want to mount it. They even make aviation mounts which is perfect for those of us who are pilots.
Can anyone share a link to a good one for extended batteries.
Hi,
I was looking to pick up a desktop dock. I am using a Seido charger from my Treo pro days. It seems to charge very very slowly (it is plugged in via usb). I was looking for a nicer cradle/dock that would fit my E4GT with a TPU case.
Is there anything out there?
Thanks,
Rich
Here is the Samsung stand/spare battery charger. It doesn't charge the phone but comes with a spare battery and cable to plug in/charge. I have a generic TPU/Hybrid case from eBay and it fits the standard in both portrait and landscape trouble free. Quite like it.

whats the cheapest place to get one of these?
Check Amazon. Picked mine up for just a little over $30 shipped if I recall right. I really like it.

I was just snooping around for a cradle/dock that would work with a case. The one I found seems to fit the bill. Search for eBay item 220936397990. Anyone have any hands-on with this cradle?
Might check the fine print on that ebay cradle. It clearly states that cases must be removed from most US models of the GSII in order to work.
Not to say it won't...
EDIT: Nevermind, I don't read to well. You have to remove the cushion from the cradle.
Well I just purchased two. If you want to hold off, I'll let you know how it turns out with a TPU case and a Body Glove case
Please let us know how it works with your case.
How did that go for you? Did you get it yet?
I guess we will never know...
Search my posts, I posted the exact dock I got, that works with my TPU case and posted pictures with links to the products I used. I did have to take a bit of the sides with a dremel tool, but I got 3 docks and did all 3 in about 15 min and they all work perfectly.
Hey, I just wanted to say thanks - I ordered the dock, did the mod with the dremel & it works great!
if you want a car mount (suction cup) get the nuvi 200 mount on ebay (around $4)
WITH tpu case fits perfect snug enough to hold but not damage. Very nice.
won't work without TPU case (too loose a fit)
Ebay - 220983308911
$4.15 Shipped
So I'm definitely going to purchase a case for my S3 as it tends to be a bit slippery at times and I'm terrified of shattering the screen. However, I also plan to get a car dock and these 2 decisions are directly related to each other (for me anyways) so I'm just looking for opinions or advice from anyone else in a similar situation. Basically, I have narrowed it down to two different options for me:
1- Get a thinner/TPU style case and use the Infuse Car Dock.
I like the idea of using a custom car dock as it looks neater, in my opinion, though they wont work with a case so I would need to get a thinner case that can easily and repeatedly be removed and put back on several times a day, when I'm placing it in the car dock, without losing it's form or grip on the phone. After looking around on these forums, I think I would go with the Diztronic Matte Back Black TPU Case (mentioned in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726922) as it seems to offer decent drop protection and can still be easily removed for use with the car dock.
2- Get a thicker case and use universal car dock.
If I went this route, I would get something similar to the Otterbox Commuter, Incipio Dual Pro, or Seidio Active/Surface case as I feel they would offer superior drop protection to the thinner style Diztronic case mentioned above. However, those cases are not really meant for constant removal so I would have to go with a universal car dock (most likely the Exomount). The exomount is a great looking dock and has pretty solid reviews and even though I prefer the look and functionality of a custom dock, I would be willing to sacrifice that if it meant keeping my phone much more secure.
Is there anyone else in a situation similar to this? Can the Diztronic offer decent protection against drops or is it mainly just for protecting the back of the phone? Is there anyone who uses a Exomount car dock with a larger case? I'm just looking for personal opinions from anyone else who may have gone with one of the methods I mentioned above. Thanks very much.

I have the infuse car dock ( love it ) and I have the the incipio case which is very easy to take the device out and put back in every day.
http://www.amazon.com/Incipio-SA-30...=1342720597&sr=8-1&keywords=incipio+galaxy+s3
I take it out every day / time I get in my car to drive and put in my dock and not a pain at all.
I went with the exomount because I am planning on getting the otterbox defender soon.
Look at the bottom of this page for some pics and description for what I did:

Working great so far.......I can vouch for that exomount. I stuck it on my dash three weeks ago and it hasn't shown any sign of coming off. I had my doubts of it holding up in this SW Louisiana heat, but it has both surprised and impressed me so far.

I was considering getting the Trident Kraken AMS case just so I could use the car mount accessory that came with it. You might want to check it out.. but now I am confused about whether I need the phone to go into dock mode with the pc board or if the ap I downloaded on its own can do that.. it seems like it, but maybe its only because I am trying it for a few minutes at a time.
Can't link to the kraken because I don't have 10 posts yet. I somehow lost my other forum account.
They said on their facebook page that it will be coming out next week.

Not sure about the app you are talking about, but I just discovered an app called car widget that allows you to setup one of your home pages to look like car dock mode. This will negate the need to have that PC board to trip the mode. For me, however, I like having to only plug one cable in to both charge and output audio to my car stereo. The basic car widget app is free by the way.

I ended up ordering the Infuse Dock along with a Diztronic Black Matte Back case. The case is very flexible and shouldn't take more than a few seconds to remove/put back on so I can live with having to do that when I want to use my dock. Nice thing is the dock was only 18$ (half-price on AT&T website) and I could always return it to the local AT&T store here if I absolutely hate it. I'll try to post some pics of the dock and/or case when I receive them if anyone would like.
Can anyone recommend me a car dock for Gnex. My Gnex lives in Otterbox Commuter. I am interested in this one but not sure if this is compatible with Commuter or not.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Veh...=UTF8&qid=1346167313&sr=8-3&tag=5336653508-21
Would appreciate if some options can be suggested to me.
Thanks
Cheers!!

Thanks but that's a mount , i am after a dock.
The Samsung one you linked is definitely NOT compatible with any case, much less an otterbox.
Its a tough squeeze to get the naked phone in it.
There are no pogo or micro USB dock for Gnex + case.
We waited 7 months just to get the first car dock for GSM.
If you don't want to take off the case everytime you get in the car, you gotta DIY.
What connection were you planning on using?
