memory card problem - Defy General

my memory card stop working when i use spotify, spotify just close and i cant go in again(because memory card stop working) and when i try to save in it it says "set in a memory card". but when i turn it off and on again it works. and because the memory card stop working all the time i can only store 1Gb on my 32Gb card

i also have sort of the same issue. sometimes memory card stops working..i don't know why, but when i take photos it doesn't save them at all, i have to go to settings>storage unmount then mount again for it to start working. i have an A-DATA 16gb class10 micro sd.

Froyo introduced a bug that persists in Gingerbread. Class 4 cards work, class 6 cards are a hit'n'miss affair, most class 10 cards have problems.

[Q] SD card problem

I have a 16gb class 4 micro sd card in my phone and it has been fine. I should have about 1-2gb free on the card and I did until earlier today when it now says I have 10gb free, I had not deleted nothing off the card and my phone was working as it should.
I checked and it seems to be that my music folder has went from 8-9gb in size to 182mb - all the files are still there and seem to work ok as well.
I don't trust it at all and am gonna format the card and start again but just wondered if anyone has ever seen this before

[Q] music problem

no matter what app (poweramp, playerpro, miui player, sense player) and no matter what rom I use the music skips
I am asking can it be anithing other then sd card. all my songs are on the sd card and for all my roms I am useing APP2SD script
I have 2gb class2 sd card and if the problem is the sd card what class should I buy
it most definitely is your SD-card... class 2 is waaayyy too slow.. try Class 4 or above, the only time my music skips if I use a data2ext ROM but really only experienced this on MIUI.. SD-Cards aren't that expensive anymore either
A simple test would be to move a song from your sd-card to your internal memory. If it still skips you might want to think about a full wipe.

32gb sd card class 6

Hi, i have brought a sansdisk 32gb sd card class 6 but it wont work for installing games, but if i put my original 8gb sd it works, i dont know the problem, how can i format to fat32 i have tried it using my computer and right clicking format it still doesnt work
Try using this software , if windows doesnt let you (although it should!)
Its free

thanks, i did it by clicking 'format in my computer, xperia play, the only thing is i dont have a reader, so maybe that could be the reason.
I have checked and it's formatted already to fat32 but still it doesn't work, is there any other formats i could try?
it does show on my computer as 32gb and can access files but trying to download and install games just causes the phone to crash and the games wont open
Perhaps it could be the class 6 part? o.o I got a 32gb class 4 and it works without any troubles... From what I've seen, anything above a class 4 can give a good number of phones problems o.o I went with a class 4 because it was 20usd for a 32gb class 4 sandisk

Yes it must be, i managed to get hold of a reader and made sure, i can use the phone and see that i have 32gb, games are running, but they cause alot of problems when installing it could take several attempts before it even installs properly, i might just invest in a class 4 one!
if you still can't format..
you have to try format it with linux...
i think class 4 is better suitable for mobile phones while, the class 6 are usually used for HD cameras and etc. you can google to get the list which class sd cards are suitable for what type of devices.
class 4
I have a sandisk class 4 32 gb, but it doesn`t work it makes the phone reboot, sometimens it doesnt read, says blank or unsuported format, or slows down, I read about LBA causing problems, I managed to remove LBA and format it on Fat32 non LBA, the phone works for a few hous, but after reboot, shutdown or connect on mass storage mode, problem happens again, and I have to reformat it...
Any Ideas?
The card is fine, I tested it on a card reader, and it has no errors...
Please HELP!

[Q] Apps moved to SD card are not accessible anymore

Hi. I had Kingston 8GB Class 4 card and today I moved all the data to my new AData 32GB Class 10 card. Everything was alright until I had to restart my phone. All apps that were moved to sd card disappeared from my app drawer, they only appear in applications list with strange names usually starting at "com.". It's like 100 apps and I don't want to lose them! How to fix that?

[Q] SD card remounting during sleep

Hi all,
Every now and again while my SM-T705 is sleeping the SD card seems to unmount while sleeping and remounts when I wake the device (message appears saying an SD card has been inserted, one time an app that was reading an epub off the SD card when it went to sleep threw up an error on waking). On two occasions there was also a notification saying that the SD card was unexpectedly unmounted and it ran an error check.
I understand that this has been a problem with Sandisk SD cards in the past but I'm using a Kingston 32GB card. Is this supposed to be happening? There doesn't seem to be any problem with the card when putting it in my PC through an adapter. It hasn't yet remounted while actually using the device, only when sleeping.
I'm using a samsung evo 64gb card and have no problems. However i have had that problem with cards that have turned out to be damaged.
Id say get a new card..
