[Tutorial] Simplistic Nexus (Full Screen look) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Ok, some of you will like how this looks, some of you will hate it. Judge for yourselves
In my opinion it looks much sleeker and utilises more of the screen (whilst preserving functionality).

It looks MUCH better on the phone, the screenshots don't do it justice
Things you'll need
- ADW Launcher EX (or one with similar functionality)
- BobClockD3
- A ROM that allows you to change the softkey colour
- LCD Density Mod app (or do it manually if you prefer)
Step 1:
Change your Density from 320 to 240.
Step 2:
Install ADW Launcher EX (and make it default)
Step 3:
In ADW Launcher settings change the Draw Style to vertical 4D (I hate the stock ICS one), the portrait columns to 5 and portrait rows to 6 (I don't like using the home screen in landscape so I didn't bother with the others). Turn on Fade to Black too!
Step 4:
In the Main Dock settings, make sure it's disabled.
Step 5:
in the Screen Preferences tick Hide Statusbar.
Step 6:
Go to General Behaviour > Gestures and set Swipe Up as "Open/close App Drawer". Also make sure Swipe Down is "Open/close Notifications" (It should be by default).
Step 7:
Se your wallpaper to black (or whatever you want, but I prefer it plain).
Step 8:
Place the BobClockD3 widget in the top left (may need resizing). The one in the screenshots is using the default colours.
Step9:
...
Step 10:
PROFIT!!!
Optional Step (But I'd recommend doing it):
Change your Navigation Buttons colour to black (you get used to not being able to see them after a while!)
So yeah, that's it. Takes about 2 minutes, reversible in less and looks awesome!
(Swipe up to open app list, swipe down to open notifications)
Enjoy!

Excellent work, thanks. By the way, I donĀ“t use facebook, could you make a 2x1 camera icon?
Nice work, Would like a camera icon too.
Also was wondering, since blue degrades fastest on AMOLED would it be better to have it in an alternate color ?
BEAUTIFUL!
thank you.
Nice, can you make the same icons but in green? =)
Nice Work !

[Tutorial] Google Now Homescreen

This is largely based/inspired by the Holo v2 homescreen by Fluffen. This is just a very simplified version I put together that's formatted for our device. It's sad pretty much all of the really good designs on My Color Screen are for newer flag ship devices with >720p displays.

There are 8 free spaces on the homescreen for Apps/Folders of your choice. I made it to have the most simple single screen access to everything I need. If you have some basic photoshop/image editing skills you can pretty easily "resize" the cards to your liking.

Instructions
Extract contents of the zip
Choose and apply one of the 3 blank wallpapers in the zip
Add a 4x2 UCCW widget to the top half of the screen
Use my "Now Clock" uccw file
Set up weather & location in the settings menu
To add themed folders, create the folder with the desired apps. Long press on the folder, press the icon, choose icon pack, and find a suitable icon for your folder.
Set up Glovebox to your liking with the light/white theme to match.
Re: Google Now-esque Homescreen Tutorial
I just fixed and re-uploaded the alignment of the clock widget a bit if anyone has already downloaded the zip. It's petty easy to change up the widget yourself if you want to.

Problems with DPI Change.

Hi All,
I have having the following 3 problems with the DPI change. I am using the Stock Asus rom and Rooted. I am currently using 440 DPI but problem has been there are other settings too (420, 400, ect), stock DPI is 480. I have 551ML model. I changed DPI using the terminal emulator wm density command.
1. In google play store some icons are blown up and strange sizes. The Icons that are strange are the google recommended diamond icon and the editors choice star. they dont seem to be scaled properly.
2. I cant set a picture for my user account. in the top right corner of the notification pull down, the picture will also be blown up and weird. if I have no picture than the stock avatar is normal.
3. Using any app that requires cropping of pictures, the picture does not fit to the screen and I only see the uppermost left corner in the crop viewfinder. its as if its zoomed into full resolution. this goes for Instagram and trying to set a display picture in almost any app like whats app.
other than thee 3 problems, I find the new DPI change to be much better than stock. Any help would be appreciated.
I tried to change on stock rom, with "wm density" trick, or "UI tuner (root)", or on CM13... i can say that DPI changing is far less flawless than in SlimRom i had on my previous Nexus S & 4 !
I totally agree that default UI is oversized. Maybe, if we want to have more information on our zenfone 2's 5.5 inches' screen, it's related to screen size/resolution/dpi, Not dpi alone...
Bump
I also have this issue after icreasing to 440.
The worst thing is that most of the pictures in apps are stretched just from the edges (for example in 9gag app those tiny advert pictures).
Ideas welcomed
Edit: worst thing is infact the Swift key got enlarged do I had to switch to a stock keyboard (screen attached)

Hi,
as you have already rooted your phone you try the xposed module App Settings instead of changing the dpi settings directly. App Settings allows you to set the dpi for each application seperately. If you have also installed an additional launcher like Nova Launcher you can change the dpi for that as well. It is less cumbersome than find and set a suitable dpi with which the phone works correctly.

Looking to adjust quick settings grid, & display full date on status bar

I just got a n976v SD, and am looking to make it look like my old phone-

"lightbox_share": "Share",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
1) I want to make the QS panel ~7x3 grid.
2) I want to display the full date and time on the left side of the status bar (Sun November 22 12:00:01 AM)
3) I want to make the notification panel easier to read (less.. stylish)
I haven't used Samsung in a few years (Note 2, 4, used a 9 for a little bit but liked Xiaomi Mi Mix better).
I see that the "grid button" in QS was removed at some point, and I don't think you can edit the grid pattern easily.
this link: https://www.xda-developers.com/customize-size-quick-settings-button-layout-samsung-galaxy/ from 2017 seems to not work (comments say it doesn't work with Note 10+)
I'm a little familiar with adb from unlocking/rooting/flashing Mi Mix, but haven't used it in a long time.
I also see some talk of System UI launcher shortcut (I think you can change the # of columns for the 1st row that are shown with a short pulldown).
I downloaded Good Lock & the modules. It seems like a lot of flashy superficial stuff & not as much functional stuff. Maybe I'm not understanding NoviStar/QuickStar enough yet. It had some useful tools for dual window.
I used Nova launcher to make a 9x9 homescreen grid.
And I changed dpi to >525. Helped me like the phone so much more.
I loved AICP on the Mi Mix. So easy to customize everything. I'm going to miss the phone.. but the Note has better battery, camera, & S pen. The Mix is still so beautiful and plenty powerful for my needs..
There's Good Lock, Quickstar but more for getting rid of status bar junk.
Pure black where my status bar was... and therefore not prematurely burning out my OLEDs.
Also saves a little battery.
Maybe a 3rd party app or launcher can do it.
Probably not worth all the trouble but good luck.

Themes / Apps / Mods [MacroDroid] Automated launcher switching based on folded status (non-root)

Hello,
I just wanted to share a macro I created to automatically switch launchers depending on what screen I was using. It works flawlessly, it's really fast too, and it works even with the screen off
It will not show the annoying notice to set the default launcher that some of them usually show.
Its currently set to the following launchers:
Niagara Launcher = Folded
One UI Home = Unfolded
However, this can be easily changed from the local variables in the macro
V1
Shorter delay (may fail more often) and no support to app continuation when switching screens

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Download
V2
Slightly longer delay, support for app continuation when switching displays

What app is needed to run the macro?
Found it.
may i know what app is this ??
i found it
How?
Can we have a little more instruction on this please.
How do you run this??

I can't get this to work and not really sure what variable to set the launcher for the Unfolder / Folded. Help please!
