After the update I'm having trouble with browser scrolling. If I flick the browser vertically, it will also scroll side ways ever so slightly. Is there a way to restore the normal behavior? It use to be that if you flick vertically your page with scroll straight up and down, but now unless you get a perfectly vertical flick, it'll move in the exact direct your finger did, rather than guessing you were trying to scroll vertically.

I've been reading around... Apparently scrolling wallpaper was removed due to Apple 'patents'. Could this be another casualty of war?

Hi,
In general I have found using the cube on my MDCA3 has worked fairly well. It can be a bit slow under normal clock speed but if run at 252mhz it works fine.
However I have found that scrolling in other applications (HTC Audio manager and File Explorer) to be a hit and miss. Often it does not scroll at all and makes the sound when it has reached the end of a scroll though it hasn't. Also often it will scroll in the right direction initially then when you do a second drag it scrolls in the opposite direction.
What are your general views on how well scrolling works and is there anyway to improve it.
It is a bit annoying as the finger scrolling on my wifes Touch is very good.

I agree - i find that when you initially use an app, it's very good, then it seems to go downhill from there.
Like in messaging, up/down scrolling is good for a bit, then starts to reverse or select messages instead of scrolling, or sweeping thumb up/down does nothing but actually opens the message your thumb last touched.
One other thing, which i find really annoying - the touchflo cube seems to want a stylus/nail to press the huge icons, and dont really respond to thumb presses.
Anyone tried playing around with the touchflo registry keys? I set the finger pressure to around 600, which seems to make it more sensitive. Anyone got their own good set of values?
Hello everyone,
I just bought my desire and the first "annoying" thing is that I can't go back without using the hardware button. It would be nice to go back using a gesture like a slide from left to right (similar to the home pages navigation).
Since the display is quite big, you need to do some 'trips' between the upper part of the display and the bottom where the button is located.
Is there any utility tool which can accomplish that?
I assume because it would be rather confusing. What happens in apps that use the swipe gesture? If "back" is hard coded into the swipe gesture for the entire OS then apps can't use it. In the photo gallery swipe is for moving from one photo to the next...but if I accidentally try to share a photo and want to get out of that dialogue then I don't want swipe to move to share the previous photo instead...I want it to get out altogether.
I agree..in some applications makes no sense. Anyway, I need to have at least a soft button to go back on the upper or bottom of the display. Another solution is to have the back behavior only on some portions the display.
There is another problem which bothers me . The fonts are not so smooth..it looks like no clear type is available. Every letter have some very small pink pixels on the left side.In fact this applies for every vertical line. Is this normal?
has anyone else this pink pixels?

Er...no...never seen this. You need to get that checked.
RE pink pixels.
See this article and this XDA thread.

It seems that the trackpad only moves vertically and horizontally, at least for me. There doesn't seem to be any diagonal movement. This is most apparent when selecting text or playing first person shooters. Is this a limitation of the trackpad?
I don't think it was ever meant to move diagonally.. no trackpad I know moves diagonally..(BB etc)
You sure are observant...

be think the trackpad would get confused if it tracked diagonally. people would complain that there phone isn't scrolling correctly or is selecting the wrong link xD
The trackpad on my 9700 bold scrolls diagonally in the web browser and games, it doesn't in a text box or the app menu. Does yours just not scroll diagonally at all?

It does not scroll diagonally at all. I first noticed it when selecting text in the browser as it only moves side to side and up and down. Same goes for games
Huh. I never noticed that on my BB. Always thought it never scrolls diagonally.
The edge zooming gesture in the stock browser is driving me crazy. Its the 'feature' where the browser changes the display zoom when you scroll near the edge of the screen.
I normally don't use the stock browser, but it is used as the embedded browser in applications such as Flipboard, Pulse, etc.
Is there any way to disable this scroll to zoom gesture?
I don't think you can. I've personally think it's great and convenient. But i'd rather zoom in like Google Maps where you double tap anywhere on the screen and while holding down with your second tap slide your fingers up or down to zoom.
I was trying to figure this out too.

Chrome has a nifty free tool called Split Screen where you can have two URL's side by side on a single page.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/split-screen/eachfleknamlcepmplpdghagngjfjkin?
Very handy for language translation or to keep a series of parallel bookmarks for related items.
Is something like this available for our tablets ?
You can simply load two Chrome browsers in MultiWindow mode.

From the homescreen, swipe open the multi window bar, hit the Chrome icon and drag it over towards the middle of the screen and let go. As it is the first one you are opening it will fill the whole screen. Swipe the bar open again and then drag a second Chrome icon over the screen but keep your finger on it... as you swipe over the first half of the screen, one side of the screen will turn blue... if you want it open on that side just let go of the icon. If you keep dragging the icon over to the second half of the screen, the second part will then turn blue and you can drop it there and Chrome will open up a second time on that side. Hope this is clear enough
