I recently ran into MIUI for my Evo...
I went to their site and downloaded the lastest stable ROM for my phone. I installed as usual, wiping data, cache, dalvik cache, boot, system, etc multiple times. After I boot up, it looks very nice but is EXTREMEMLY laggy... also, almost every app force closes. Especially when someone calls me, it rings and when I pull down to answer, the phone force closes.
I have tried downloading the file again, and I have reflashed like 5 times, (I even tried an older version)... I am using the latest GAPPS.
Any suggestions or clues as to what might me causing this? I might just venture away from CM if I can get this to work reliably...
Which version are you using? The modded 2.1.13?

I had this same issue I was running the latest version of MIUI but I just kept getting force closes on it. I think it might be the radio I flashed, have you done anything like flashing a new radio lately?
If you did much reading, you'd have known that 1.12.23 and 1.12.30 were broken.
You want 1.12.9 or 2.1.13

I see now. There is a 2.1.13? I have 1.12.9.. and issues are solved. Still laggy sometimes though.
2.1.13 is a modified port. It's really good. It's in the MIUI thread in the page 278 area

I have a problem with MIUI rom. Some days ago, my phone suddenly had FC, now, my phone run really slow and laggy... If I turn off the screen, my phone won't wake up, only four button in the bottom light up.
I wiped everything in CMW (system, data, and cache, also sd-card) but it doesn't work.
The fresh install had the same issues
I have this problem only with MIUI rom
any help
You probably need to provide more info on the issue. What version of MIUI are you running? Have you tried a fresh download of the ROM?

this guy has the same problem with me, maybe he can explain better than me
http://forums.miui.us/showthread.php?3740-Display-won-t-wake-from-sleep
Hey guys, I flashed 1.819 yesterday and everything was going great. The ROM ran smoothly and I was having no issues at all. When I woke up the next morning my display would not turn back on. Every time I tried to turn on the display the soft lights would light up but the display remained unresponsive. The phone still seemed functional as I could hear e-mail and sms notifications coming through.
When I rebooted my phone it was abnormally slow.. mounting the sd card and syncing seemed like it was taking forever and the launcher was very jittery.. if I let my display time out it would not come back on and I'd be forced to pull the battery and try again.
I performed a full wipe through clockwork recovery (everything, including wiping system, data, and cache in 'mounts and usb') and reinstalled 1.819. The fresh install had the same issues.. if I let my display time out I wouldn't be able to turn it back on. I thought I was having some wonky hardware issue but after flashing my previous sense rom and everything is working perfectly.. so I'm pretty much scratching my head here. My phone was kickass for one day and became allergic to MIUI overnight!

Have you tried using a different kernal such as Tiamat or JD's Kernal?
May want to try that. I had good luck with Miui and Tiamat (ran it for a week)

Does this happen immediately after you flash? Or are you installing applications to get back to your preferred setup and then seeing the performance problems?
If it's the latter, I'd run the rom alone and see if it runs normally. Then install your applications individually until you encounter issues.

since we are talking about MIUI issues. I am running the latest version of MIUI with the JDKernal.
The camera has color distortion lines when I take a picture. The picture comes out fine but when taking it the image shows the distortion. It did not do that before so I can only assume its something with the camera in the ROM.
Anyone else see this?

tenchu, your signature says you are not English or American. Are you running the MIUI.us ROM on your incredible 2 in English - and not another language?
.....just a thought.
So, I have HTC Desire with rooted MIUI rom for a while.
HTC Desire, GSM, MIUI 2.1.6
It was okay until 5th January. I have about 25 installed apps and anything was fine. Few days ago I noticed strange "Force stop" in apps like Twitter, Foursquare, Internet Browser.
Then the same started to happen with random restarts of the phone. The phone simply started, then restarted and entered into bootscreen loop, so I ejected battery and inserted and so on. Clearing Dalvik Cache doesn't help.
Also when I try to enter Wi-Fi settings it freezes and gives out "Force close application?" That's just ridiculous!
I have lately updated from previous MIUI version 2.1.4 because that problem started there, but with no changes.
Can you please help here?
i have always faced similar issues with MIUI , my phone doesnt like it
so i have simply stopped using it
edit: if you still want to use MIUI id suggest you stick with a stable version for a while rather than weekly updates
Well, it really might be like that. Seems like I fixed those issues by doing a full phone wipe and fresh flash. Which release can you suggest me?
Wich releases did you try before ?

I have MIUI on mine and flash each update. The biggest issue I have is that it tries to update and always fails with an E:\SDCard error in recovery. I just download and then flash the full rom (no wipes) and it works a treat. The one issue I have with 2.16 is that SMS messages disappear below my 'Better Keyboard' where they didn't in the version prior. I've switched to Android keyboard now but have yet to see if the issue persists. That said, it is by far the most stable ROM I've ever used and I'm running 40+ apps on it with zero problems.

As far as it is, it looks fine. No big problems at all. The only issue is that I backed up 5000+ messages back to phone, I like to store them there. Sometimes seems like it is a little hard for android to hold so many sms's.
I recently switched over from CM7.1 to MIUI and am very pleased thus far.
I started with 1.12.9 as most people say that this is the most stable version. I was having some issues with 1.12.9 and figured I'd give 2.1.13 a shot. Well so far it is much better than 1.12.9 but I am still having some random FCs - most notably so far I can't access the Toggle Settings.
I read elsewhere that some of the builds are meant to be laid over the previous ones, whereas when I went from 1.12.9 to 2.1.13 I did a full wipe. Could this be the issue? Do I have to re-wipe everything, load 1.12.9 set everything up and then load 2.1.13 on top of it?
Also, handcent does not seem to be working with either version..
Thanks!
I never had to do that, I never had the issues you speak of as long as you did a full wipe plus storage should be fine. Sorry i could not be more help.

Toggle settings force closes is a known issue with 2.1.13, 1.12.9 is more stable and I get no force closes on anything. Just make sure you do the full wipe and dalvik, sometimes I even go further by:
format system
format data
format data/data
format cache
I would think doing full wipe is necessary for downgrading.
So I have CM12 installed, but when I go to flash the latest nightlys I keep getting System UI crashing. When I acknowledge it, the error will not go away. I have HBOOT 3.18 and radio 1.19 with TWRP 2.8.4.0. I've wiped everything I can think of save the internal and external SDCARDs. What am I doing wrong to not be able to flash the latest nightlys? Ive tried flashing on top of my current CM12, which was upgraded from CM11, and wiping clean. When I wiped clean everything was working great till the phone went to sleep. When I woke it up, same issues.
Yeah, I was having that issue as well. CM12 just isn't stable right now, at least for me. Everything lagged after having the phone on for about a half hour, took 4-5 seconds to do anything after selecting it... it was just a mess. Went back to stock.
Everything runs like a champ, I just cant flash the latest version. It seems that I'm the only one having this issue, or no one cares to help anyone anymore.

Okay, I have cleared off a bunch of crap off my phone and am willing to give CM12 a try just to see if you have the issue. Which CM12 version are you referring to?
Thanks for the help. Right now Im running version 12-20150128-NIGHTLY-m8. When I try to update to any of the latest versions Im getting the System UI crashes. It doesnt matter how many times I acknowledge it, it wont go away.
Hi. Im using LG G Pro E988 variant. I'm trying to flash cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly version. Everything went well and all but i got a problem where the phone likes to reboot itself. So i try to clean everything with the usual stuff (wipe data, even wipe system, cache, etc) and re-flash the same. The issue still persists so i thought maybe it's the problem lies within the cm12.1 itself so i move a step back. I flashed the latest Cyanogenmod 11.2 Snapshot version that was available from their site. The issue still happened and i got no clue what's going on. On my stock kitkat ROM, this issue never happened.
Anybody got the same problem? Thank you before

well i think i did try wild kernel with cm12.1 latest nightlies. The issue gotten worse. More random reboot occured.
Currently on slimLP with his zerkernel v1.7. I thought this one is perfect, but then out of nowhere the random reboot occured again. It's not as frequent as before but still happen.
Right now I'm using Mokee with wild kernel and everything is going well.

Random rebooting is a common issue with all the cm 12.1 based ROM for lg ogp. The cm12. 1 in my opinion was never fully stabilized even by the time the devs were starting to switched to the newer hardwares. If you keep the number of apps you unstated to minimum, you may be able to keep random rebooting down, but this just my observation. I thought the latest bliss pop 4.03 had the rebooting issues sloved, but it rather just had the occurrence down to where it's less. But there are other issues such as the device getting extremely hot, which in turn causes shutdown. To the point where I give up on using LP once again on this device, and move back to kk. The kk may be an older rom, but at least it's stable. With the LP, I think issues with it unable to find the sim card, GPU issues that cause screen to flicker and blackout, all are never fully fixed. Rather, those issues were patched and rigged to make the rom run, but not smooth enough where you see issues such as rebooting and overheating.

Yeah, i think the issue are only on cyanogen based ROM. When i use the lolipop such as Super Mini V6.5 by henrypham91 and lgviet team, it's all good. Deep sleep normaly, no sound delay when game on 2D graphics, and all. But then again, it's noticeably slower if you compare against CM head to head. I really love CM or AOSP based rom because they are so fast.

Their website has an English version. There should be a British flag on the upper right side. Then download their history zip which is a kind of final release.
