I've been looking everywhere for a widget that can control the music like skip, Pause, play for the default player. I couldn't believe android lacks such a simple feature; when I had an iPod touch, whilst the screen was locked, double clicking the home screen would bring up the pause/play, skip buttons.
Whereas now when the screen is locked, I have to unlock the screen to get to the music player to be able to change the track etc.
MIUI Roms have this feature... And the PlayerPRO also has it. You have to turn on in program's Settings

Dont want to flash a new rom on it. Don't want to change the default player either, as I've tried others and are more ram hungry than the default player.
its depend on stock roms,you cant say all android roms has no feature like that,in android you can have everything that iphone has and not,just try search this forum..

Then, I think there's only one other option, get a LiveView (soon SmartWatch) or a wireless headset.

But the thing is with Winamp or Poweramp, they're more RAM hungry (i.e. they use up a lot more RAM) than the original Music Player.
The Default music player does have a widget, but it is permanently on screen and doesn't disappear when the music is turned off, as I would like to have one on my lockscreen and would like to control my music from there i.e. skip tracks etc rather than having to unlock then go to the widget.
With WidgetLocker Lockscreen you can put a music player widget on your lockscreen
Try this app and enable lockscreen controls from settings menu.
I know its not a stock replacement app but its worth a try..

I installed Skyraider 2.5.2 vanilla, the only thing I need from Sense is the media player.
The Stock media player doesn't read the internal memory where all my music is (I still have a the 2gb and it's full to the brim)
Does anyone know of a way to install the HTC media player, and will the lock screen controls play nice with the vanilla lock screen.
If it doesn't play nicely with the lock screen is there a way to get the vanilla media player to read the internal memory?
You no longer get lockscreen controls, thats a feature of the sense lockscreen. I'm not sure you would be able to get it back with the controls on the lockscreen. Check out "MixZing Media Player" from the market. It reads from both and also has its own lockscreen widget and controls.

I don't believe you can do that with the PowerAmp widget, but you can use Phantom Music Control which does exactly what you want.

I realize this is long since died but figured I would update with a new solution if anyone is interested. If you simply use tasker to suspend widgetlocker (via 3rd party actions) when the variable for music track %MTRACK is set and then force the poweramp lock screen into play you get poweramp lock screen when music is playing that unlocks directly to the homescreen. Obviously to reverse it when music is not playing simply resume widgetlocker when the %MTRACK is cleared.
Works flawlessly for me on my Galaxy SIII. Only thin I noticed is that if you are still on the open poweramp music player but the music is paused, the %MTRACK variable must still be set because widgetlocker is suspended, but usually its playing in the background for most people I assume if you pause it you likely are exiting out at that point anyway. This should work for any music app that sets the %MTRACK variable, not sure which ones all do that but...Hope it helps a few!

I use Player Pro but it's not free. You can enable lock screen controls 2x4 and 4x4. It's a really nice player IMO. You can look up lyrics from it and all that jazz.

I have Player Pro, but couldn't get the lock screen controls to appear. What settings do I have to have for the lock screen, right now I have it set for pattern and it wont show up? I used Player Pro on my EVO 4G.

Stock player has the capacity to do so.. What I do is setup the lockscreen with the Pattern Lock.. it'll show the controls that way.

Got to settings, lockscreen, then widget and choose what you want. Make sure "hide controls" isn't checked. Player Pro has no equal in my book.

I have Winamp pro. I would say it was worth the 5 bucks for the equalizer and no delay between track changes. I javelin no experience with the lockscreen player.
I know a lot of people don't like Touchwiz UI so they would suggest moving to AOSP our CM but I enjoy the motion features built in to the TW ROMs. With that in mind, are there any mods that can make the lock screen more functional?
I had CM7 on my captivate for a while and I loved having the audio player accessible from the lock screen. I tried widget locker on this phone (GS3) but it seemed to slow it down and the music controls were always there, even when I wasn't using the music player. If I remember right, on CM7 the music controls only showed up when I was listening to music.
^^^^ I also chose to stay TWUI due to all the features the phone provides. Hopefully we can get some devs on board to update the lockscreen. I would actually like an htc weather lockscreen port....

I use PowerAmp and the music controls (which look great) only show up when music is playing.

Widget Locker does have this ability via widgets. In particular, Phantom Music Control https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.jhg.musiccontrolwidget&hl=en from the market is basically a widget with player controls along with music metadata. The widget has a neat ability to disappear when there is no music playing. HOWEVER, the widget is still there along with the controls so if your screen accidentally turns on, you run the risk of pressing those "invisible" buttons. I haven't used it since Gingerbread so they may or may not have addressed this issue.
Or if you're main concern is to just change tracks, look for a ROM that has "Long-press volume to change tracks". This is very convenient when you're working out or any other situation where you don't feel like turning your screen on just to change tracks. I'm using The Devil's Reject right now which has it already baked in. Very cool ROM as well!
Hi, im using the popular app JetAudio as a music player on my A50. It was fine until I upgraded to Android 10, now i see that, while music is playing, it is not possible anymore to have a customized lock screen with music controls, song info, album cover, etc.
I tried other apps but apparently the stuff that can be displayed on lock screen is strictly controlled by Samsung.
Is there any alternative music player allowing to show music info on lock screen, or any workaround, or shall I only wait and hope that an update from Samsung wil reintroduce this feature?

I tried, but JetAudio is way more configurable, a better equaliser, and thanks to its DSP opions, "sounds better"
Having music info on lock screen is a plus, after all...
