[Themed App] ES File Explorer - Red Themed - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hi guys,
Inspired by the stunning ICS Domination Theme created by Vertumus and addicted to the Blood Mode i started theming my every-day-use Apps to Red.
As first App i have chosen ES File Explorer (by EStrongs Inc.), its a free app and a pretty handy explorer.
(Market Link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop)
Maybe someone else also likes the Red Touch so im happy to share the modded APK with the community.
Installation Notice:
Uninstall your previous version of the ES File Explorer before installing this one!
Have Fun and keep on modding!

WoooooooooooooooooW
WoooooooooooooooooW man !!!!
Exactly what i was lookin' for !!!
Just have to install the apk, or have to push it in system/app?
THANX BUTTON PUSHED
Waitin' for your answer, thanx again my friend ! Great work !!!
EDIT
DONE ! just installed the apk. JUST SPLENDIIIIIIIID !!! I love it man!
Pretty pretty pretty job!!!
Would you be agree for me to share YOUR link in my thread, please...?
Thanx in advance,
PS: Works perfectly on ICS 4.0.3 !!!

Just install it as usual. (remember to uninstall your previous version of es file explorer)
Edit:
Nice to hear you like it mate. Share it wherever you like

the mistake you made here is a big one. You themed the apk instead of making a flashable themed .zip.
so now people have to delete their app to install yours... and when a new version of that app comes out and they update, it will all get back to default, and you will have to edit a new apk on and on and on... waste of time
instead make a vrtheme zip that people can flash , that will be universal, i.e you won't have to theme it for each update, just once
hope i made sense

You are right about the VRTheme script mate and its the "common theming procedure" but how can someone without cwm install the theme?
With a fully apk file you are able to install it on a stock phone.
(as side note i have noticed that some png sizes changed from the last es file explorer version to the newest so the cwm zip would also needs to be readjusted when this happens or am i wrong?)
anyway thanks a lot for all advices, allways learning here

I get what you mean mate but see it this way
If a person doesn't have CWM, then they can't flash Vert's theme anyway, especially not the Blood Mode.
And I doubt anyone would want a red app that stands out from the rest of the theme for that matter ( though I may be wrong )
Anyway, it was just an advice mate
PS. File sizes are not important, changing a .png name or something would make it unusable. So once a new version comes out, you just have to check if the file structure is the same, if it is, then you have nothing to do, if it is not, you just add new edited pngs to the zip, make it a new version and upload Fast and reliable
Great job on theming the app there

Youre again right with CWM and Verts theme + Blood Mode but as you allready mentioned maybe someone wants a red explorer anyway
I appreciative your advice about VRTheming and will try to get more knowlegde about it (thx for pm).
As for file size, i think i have used the wrong words.
I didnt meant the "file size on storage", i meant the image dimensions. When they change i will for sure have to addopt the VRTheme flash file or otherwise the app page layout can get deformed..?
Thanks and regards

Oh yes, that can be a serious problem, didn't quite understand you the first time
But again, it's just a few edits, shouldn't be too hard to fix if it comes to that
Happy theming

nice job mate!!like i already said its great and going well with master verts blood theme!!

happy you like it mate and thanks for your testing support!
ps: hope you will get your toy back soon!

thanks! i love red themes!
but i think grandmaster is right, i think it would be easier for you to just create a cwm-flashable theme and just edit that if future versions of es explorer comes, instead of editing an entire apk.
and for the user's point of view, it would be easier for them as they wont have to uninstall and reinstall, and then again configure their own settings for the app.

IMPORTANT!!
1* uninstall any other theme/highlighting/flowbar icons! (or else you won't be able to uninstal them anymore)
2* disable touch flow 3d (settings/personal/today/items)
3* instal the cab
4* make a soft reset
5* enable touch flow 3d
6* ENJOY
Nice work, looks neat! Only thing that sticks out a bit is the clock, plain white just doesn't seem right...

the clock isn't as readable as you think. Look at the 1 or 7, they look alike, and the shape of the numbers are not that readable.

what do you mean excactly?
you mean on the internet or on ur phone?
because on ur phone there is no location.
a theme is filled with lots of files wich cover up the originals on ur phone..
that's why you have to uninstal before installing a new theme..
so if you would just make a folder on ur computer and save al the downloaded theme cabs there.. you could switch by uninstalling the current theme.. and then copy the new theme over and install that one..
hope this cover you question
have a nice one

the hard part of making the theme is there for you. the installation is simple, if you find that a hassel, im not sure windows is for you!
excuse
anyone can teach me find where the touch flow?? mine one is xperia x1
Come on mate i have used themes before on other mobiles and it had a theme manager where one can select which themes he wants to set. I am not arguing on the effort one puts to make a theme, my question is it would have been much easier for a theme manager which will list all the themes installed on the cell instead of installing the theme over and over again.
To oneman88
If you have a xperia you also need to use one of the cooked rom with manila that u can find here on xda. if you have not flashed your Rom just forget about getting this theme until u done it!
Nice evening

i totally agree if there was a theme manager it would be lots better. im sure any theme creator or anybody for that matter would have already mention it by now. this is the only method we can use now.
anyways great work knaplullig, please keep it coming.

it would be great to have a theme maneger..
but the thing is:
- we are just skinners.. for myself i realy CAN'T write a program or app
- how the hell would a theme maneger keep track of all the themes that are made out here..
- the themes i make for example. are overwriting the files standart on the phone.. so if you would have an other theme wich does exactly the same system.. it will not effect ur phone.. but in the uninstal programs app you can't uninstal the theme you had before because the new has overwritten it already.
you get it?
have a nice one.

[Theme] LithiumMod Blueberry port (v.8)

First off I need to give credit where credit is due. Fisha21 blazed the trail with the first themed Uruk framework and did the hardwork of figuring out the steps to make it happen. Secondly, the themed pieces in this framework came mostly from JRummy16's blueberry LithiumMod so I claim absolutely no credit for that. There are other pieces picked up here and there, but I apologize for not knowing where they all came from.
This is mostly a complete work, but there is always room for improvement so I don't want to call it a 1.0. See the screenshots below for a small sample of what has been done, but there are many other tweaked images (something like 200-ish).
This is my first release to the public - normally I'd tweak things for my own personal use and never spread it around, but since there isn't a huge theme library for the Archos I thought I'd share for anybody that's interested. Constructive criticism is appreciated; if you find something that needs fixing please let me know and I can adjust it. I in no way think this work is perfect, but it's not too shabby in my opinion.

This will work on Uruk running off the SD or from the internal storage. Follow Fisha21's install steps:
"How to install
Needless to say, only attempt this if you are comfortable modifying system files. As we are using the SDE for this, the potential risk of bricking/ irreversible damage is low, but you should still have some idea what you're doing!
Just to clarify, I am using this on an UrukDroid 0.5 rooted Archos 101. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work on any previous UrukDroid version, or other device sizes, but I haven't tested on any other configuration.
I know there are other (semi-permanent) root methods out there, and I know some people have UrukDroid running from their internal SD. I don't know how/if this will work with those setups, and I can't offer any advice/help for anyone wanting to try it in those setups. PROCEED CAREFULLY if you decide to try!
There are probably lots of other (neater) ways of doing this but this is the way I've found to work consistently for me.
All file manipulation on the device was done with Root Explorer.
1. Unzip the attached [bluep0rkframework-res.zip] to your SD card (the largest partition). Can be done directly on device, or over USB.
2. Find your original framework-res.apk (/system/framework) and back it up. I stored the backup in /system/framework.old, but its up to you - keep it safe! I would suggest keeping a copy on your computer also - you'll see why later!
3. Navigate to where you saved the new framework-res.apk, and change permissions to those shown in the screenshot below. I used the Root Explorer context menu, but those who prefer terminal commands, thats chmod 644.
4. Now MOVE (not copy) that .apk into the /system/framework folder. It will ask if you want to replace the existing file, just hit ok.
[p0rk burn: I'm not sure if my files will change color like Fisha's, but once you move it into the folder it should sit there for a while in RootExplorer - you will be able to scroll up and down but using the home key or any other buttons will not do anything - that means the new framework is loading, The rest of the setup should be like Fisha21 described: the screen will go black after a few minutes and sit for a little bit, before the homescreen loads back up.]
Now reboot the system.
The black screen after the UrukDroid screen may last a minute longer than normal, but just be patient. When it all comes back, you should see your new notification icons!
Once again, only do this if you are comfortable with editing system files. Though the risk of bricking is low, I can't offer any help if you do manage to kill your Archos!"

I had problems installing my own framework after updating to Uruk 0.6, which is also based in part on 2.1.04. Not sure if there was some change in the other contents of framework-res in the newer firmwares, but when I installed mine, I got into this loop where the soft buttons would appear on a black screen for a few seconds, disappear then reappear again. Is that what you experienced? I fixed mine by repacking my custom icons into a new framework-res extracted from the newest firmware.
Would you try installing my latest version from the theme forum, and see if that will work on your setup? I have also found a (hopefully) easier method, but it does require ADB.
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to hijack p0rn burn's thread or encourage people to use my framework over his. It would just be interesting to see if changing the base framework-res did make a difference, or if I unknowingly did something else to fix things. I have PM'd p0rk burn about my findings as well, so hopefully we can get both versions working!
The more help the better. Ill try to get a new framework up on monday for the new fw. Im on uruk .6 now so i need it too.
As promised, I have uploaded the blue themed framework for Uruk .6. It is attached to the first post for those of you that are interested. Please make sure you use the proper one, otherwise you will have to fix it before being able to boot back into Uruk.
This one has the modified progress_horizontal.xml so the volume bar and other progress indicators are properly themed.
If I feel motivated (or think people would actually care) I'll see about tweaking this a bit more and/or doing some more ports.

runs for me (0.6 uruk and zImage from ardatdat, running on sd)
nitpicks:
- beautiful widgets take a long time to load
- power off/reboot ... menu from powerbutton sometimes not responsible (could be another reason too i guess)
will try it a few days to see if its stable
like the theme, thanks for your work

I'll try the widgets on my end but I haven't had any of those issues. My guess is it has to do with the zImage because I don't think changing out .pngs would cause those issues, but definitely something worth looking at.
Thanks for the feedback.

you know, the blue market hack would fit perfectly to your theme ;-)
I know, I thought about throwing it in when I first started this but wanted to get a proof of concept first and then sort of forgot about it. With all the problems people have had with market installs on Uruk I was a little afraid to mess with it.
I'll see what I can do though.

hehe, i have the blue market (vs 2.3.3 from the xda thread) on the archos 101 now
i like the blue and its working
gonna see if it the blue and transparent market works too
Once again Fisha21 came through for the scene. If you want the blue market follow these steps. Should work with the other 2.3.3 markets, but I can't vouch for it personally. On the other hand, if you reached this point in tweaking your Archos fixing a botched vending mod probably doesn't scare you.

i shrinked your originally 9MB framework-res.apk by simply making all included archos-backgrounds unicolor (mostly about 250k -> 4k).
and making 2 times default wallpaper unicolor. (blue)
now its 6MB. i dont get why archos did this black pattern backgrounds anyway.
p0rk burn I'v been trying to mod the framework-res.apk myself. but just out of curiosity what tools do you use and how do do the modifications.

[MOD] Transparent lockscreen

Thought i'd pay something back for all i've learned here on xda-developers (something simple, i'm still learning ). So here are some transparent lockscreens for various roms. The lockscreens are completely transparent (10% opacity) except for the clock and the charging indicator. The files below are for unmodded / unthemed roms. If you want one for your theme, or one not in the list below, let me know.
Thanks to Lg_X_Modderer for pointing me in the right direction about how to make the lockscreen transparent. Thanks to everyone else who explained how to edit apk's and make flashable zip's etc.
Install through CMW from recovery.
If you previously have set a lockscreen wallpaper through the gallery, remove the file from /data/data/com.cooliris.media/files (with for example root-explorer).
Use at own risk, do a nandroid backup before flashing.

If you want to do it yourself, here's how:
I use notepad++ for editing, but any editor will work. Use apkmanager to decompile / compile framework-res.apk.
Edit res/layout/keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml.
In line 2 replace android:background="@color/background_dark" with android:background="@drawable/default_wallpaper".
In line 5 replace android:background="#30000000" with android:background="@color/transparent".
In line 12 replace android:layout_marginBottom="80.0dip" to android:layout_marginBottom="0.0dip".
Edit res/layout/zzz_keyguard_screen_lockscreenwallpaper.xml.
In line 2 replace android:background="#ff000000" with android:background="@color/transparent".
In res/drawable-hdpi:
Replace default_wallpaper.jpg with default_wallpaper.png. Replace zzzzzzzz_default_lockscreenw.jpg with transparent zzzzzzzz_default_lockscreenw.png (can be any png size 480x800).
Thats it.
sir, just a question...
currently, i have achieved a transparent lockscreen by setting a transparent picture file as my lockscreen wallpaper.
may i ask, what would be the difference with your method?
thank you in advance.
Well, according to this post, that didn't work. So i made changes to the framework-res.apk following Lg_X_Modderer's instructions and made the flashable zip's.
Well this is exactly what ive been wanting for my clear glass theme.
Wasnt able to achieve it myself. Can you make it work for my theme?
What do you need? the framework-res.apk?
Thanks alot.
Yes, the framework-res.apk is all I need.

Forgot to ask, is this for a odexed or deodexed rom? I'll include instructons when i return the file. Also got this when i decompiled your framework-res.apk: "Cant find 9patch chunk in file: "drawable-hdpi/status_bar_item_background_pressed.9.png". Renaming it to *.png". This needs fixing.
Oh im just fixing that file now. must have slipped by.
Villain 2.4.2 is deodexed i believe. Ill just check.
Im going to upload the fixed framework in a min.
Edit : ok .9png fixed. i just tested, decompiles fine.
And its Deodexed.
Thanks again and sorry about the mess up.
No problem.

Whoop! Thanks alot. Off I go to flash. Ill let you know how I get on.
edit : small question, does that mean any wallpaper i set will be transparent or only the default one?
Every wallpaper you set using the gallery will have a black background. Haven't found a way to do that yet.

As far as i know every rom without transparent lockscreen support will display a black background that way. Atleast it does on lite'ning 6.1 (which i'm using right now).
ok cool. only problem im having is that it keeps my current lockscreen wallpaper and doesnt revert to the framework one. how do I put it back to the default one?
Browse to /data/data/com.cooliris.media/files and delete or move the current wallpaper file. (Atleast that works for me)
Thanks for the info. Maybe that could go on the first page to avoid confusion.
All working perfectly though. As a transparency maniac I love this!
Now I just need to figure out how to make backgrounds for contacts, mms, settings and phone transparent.
Heres a screenshot, add it to the front page, dont, your call.

I present my new theme, saying that there are over 2000 pictures in the topic created by me, however there are other forum left by colleagues and others found online, all of them thank you for your great work.
I followed more or less the same line that had the issue before, as well liked and did not notice much difference
It's hard to explain what changes there, so what you look better and you will go see, but say that the line is very similar
He gave a little transparency to the curtain and the status bar, and that you think so comentareis
We accept suggestions for improvement
I hope you like the theme as it has been, this echo with the universal theme template 3.3 of Intronaut @ and @ Jrsoft. Thank you for such wonderful work and make things easier for others
Tested CriskeloRom TurkbeyRom V38 and V33 and perfect, XILA2 rom base.
I guess it worked in more roms but I have not tried it.
BlacColors v6.1 is housed in fileserver, since very fine Multiupload not going lately.

Changelog v6.1:
Calculator icon changed
Changed camera icon
Universal Flasher changed the old, the new problems I was Turkbey
Added market 3.4.4. thematized
And more things I can not remember.
This update is for those who do not like the bootanimation and want the android astronaut, this is link: http://www.fileserve.com/file/8S3xKVV
This update is prepared for if we change the notification curtain, this is the link: http://www.fileserve.com/file/qMhdFBC
Tutorial to change the curtain:
Well after downloading the zip open it with winrar, open it again did not unpack. We will see several folders in the winrar open, now we have to follow this route:
System / app / SystemUI / res / drawable hdpi
you will see that there is nothing inside, now you have to take two equal-sized images and rename 480x800 images like this:
status_bar_background.9.png
status_bar_background.png
Well done this after taking the two images and drag them into the path specified (hdpi drawable), I repeat not copy and paste drag
winrar will ask replace and accept, accept and already we have the curtain that we want for our phone.
Now you only have to put it in internal sd phone and install any theme or rom, you know, Install zip from sdcard / choose zip / and yes, because we will have this by restarting our curtain set.
Remember to thank costs nothing, but it is highly gratifying to the author.
Now also themed:

thank for their valuable assistance lexullde
goriet thank for collaborating on the visual aspect of the theme

@Eladios,
I've sent you a number of private messages asking you nicely to kindly remove my images from your theme. Seeing as you've chosen to ignore them I have no other option but to report this thread.
I'm sorry but play by the rules or don't play at all.

Draw 9 Patch Tutorial, 9.png images
V3, i just cant get it to work, i install criskelo v30, check if jkay v12 is removed, than install criskelo v31, statusbar is still there, install jkay v13.1, reboot, and statusbar is still there, than i install your v3, reboot and statusbar is gone.
I can only get it to work with criskelo v30 and your v2.
Any solution?
great job!

Is your v3 going to work on Criskelo v32 with jkay 13.2 ?
I ask because of the statusbar problem.

[Guide] Transparent background - framework-res.apk Contacts.apk [ICS-JB]

This is a simply method to set a transparent background on framework-dependent apks and Contacts.apk.
1. Using Photoshop or similar create a trasparent image (% as you wish) and save it as .png. If you insert a texture or image, use your device resolution for better results. Make two copies and rename its as "background_holo_dark.png" and "background_dial_holo_dark.png"
2. Decompile framework-res.apk. You can follow this great guide
3. Browse to res/values and open styles.xml. Search code for "<style name="Theme.Holo" parent="@style/Theme">"
4. On it, search this line "<item name="windowShowWallpaper">false</item>" (using Komodo is line 1006) and replace values with true. Save and close.
5. Browse to res/drawable-nodpi and replace existing background_holo_dark.png with your image
6. Recompile framework-res. You may refer to guide posted above
7. Using winrar or similar browse into Contacs.apk to res/drawable-nodpi and replace existing background_dial_holo_dark.png with your image (simply drag&drop, be careful to set compression to Store)
8. Replace framework-res and Contacts.apk on your device (Root explorer, adb, flash through recovery). Personally I also clear cache and dalvik cache
9. Enjoy your modded apks!
After the editing of framework-res.apk you may visit this thread to download also my transparent calendar and mms apks!
Remeber: always perform backup before replace any system file! Also, I'm no responsible for any problems that may occure on your phone
Attached you can find two transparent background 480x800
Here some screenshots (second one from esk02k)

P.S. Of course, this method allows you to change backgroung also with any non transparent image. You simply have to rename your two image copies as reported in point 1. Then replace the original file using winrar or similar as in point 7. You don't need to decompile framework-res.apk in this case!
Thanks but can I use 7zip
I don't like to Decompile and decompile process I think it's hard
You can use 7zip to replace image on Contacts.apk, but you need to decompile framework-res.apk to modify styles.xml.
If you follow the linked guide you will see that compile/decompile apks is not so difficult!
Sorry
What link do you mean ?
nice, thanx.
But one question, do you know how to change the color of font in contacts? ie. from black to white? like how it is in dial...

Hi is it possible for you to make the stock calendar background transparent??? I hate the stock look!!.
can we use VRT universal theme flasher for CM9 Roms?
replacing framework-res usually deletes every account registered on the device. I used vrt zips on stock-based Roms easilly. but when I was trying to use it on a CM9 Rom iit just crashed everything.

During last days I've replaced framework-res about one hundred of times I think, and I never lost any account. Don't know what VRT is, I usually flash new framework-res with recovery.

Yea you can. Im using a zip I posted here. Its by Villain team and JRsoft. I haven't had any problems with it. This ones set up to replace the whole framework though so dont flash it on anything other than paranoid 1.6.
Hi,
This material is gold, my friend, thank very much.
But, i followed every single step on this, but i can't get transparency in contacts, only in phone application, and all the rom...very cool.
But my contacts background it's completely dark.
I also changed framework, inside res/drawable-nodpi, background_holo_light.png to a transparent png file with the same name....but didn't worked also...
So, what to do?

use the contacts.apk I posted in the zip above. Backup yours first of course, it can be found in the extras/system/app folder of the zip.
Many thanks, esk02k, it worked like a charm...
But, what's the difference between this one and the one i used? (F1 rom, from faryaab) Did you change anything else on this?
Cheers

Hi,
Here' the good MOD : ww.phonandroid.com/forum/rom-andyx-4-0-4-v5-t16615-1490.html#p297978
It's is normal you've only phone.apk transparent.
Having contacts.apk too, you need edit xml and compile it.

I didn't find any "how to" about transparency on that thread...just a guy who post some pics of transparency and said it was very easy.....
So, everyone is telling "need to edit xml on contacts.apk and compile"...i'm tired of know that...it would be more useful say which files, where and what to do.
Cheers

The easiest way is taking my files.
Compiling AOKP contacts.apk gives a lot of problem. It's a know bug and any tools can compile it correctly.
(excuse me for my bad english, I'm french)
