Digitizer Shattered - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I went to pull my inc2 out my pocket about an hour ago, only to drop it onto a tile floor, shattering the digitizer. The device doesn't have insurance, so I figured I'll replace the digitizer myself. Has anyone had to do this before? Are there any good guides, as well as a quality digitizer online? I guess it's back to the eris for a while....

Sorry to hear about your phone :/ ...
Here is a guide i found on how to change the digitizer.. click here

Did this a while back. Used the YouTube guide. Bought a digitizer off Ebay which worked great. be aware that if shipping from China it's gonna take longer (duh)
If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
The process up to heating and removing the digitizer/lcd is cake. The hearing and removing the digitizer and especially lcd is tough and scary. Take your time, the glue is really strong. I used a heat gun but I think a hair dryer might work better since it doesn't get it hot as quick.. Also make sure no dust is under the digitizer after you apply it and don't use any liquid glue/silicone to glue down the lcd/digitizer.
Oh I forgot, when removing the digitizer, be mindful of the lights that light up the bottom buttons they tend to stick to the digitizer so careful that you don't bend/break them. Other than that you should be ok

Get yourself a soft case and cover up her flaws. You should check ebay. When I cracked the screen on my evo (I realize you didn't crack your screen) they had all the parts I needed, including the screen for $25

Guide to changing the faceplate

Hey guys I need to replace my face plate (see picture) and was looking for a guide on how to do it. All the ones that I found are for changing the whole screen, or is it more or less the same thing as doing that? Thanks

You are going to have a super tough time doing this (I'm not even sure if it is possible). The display is physically bonded to the faceplate.

Well that sucks.. can anyone else confirm this?
That's how it was on the SGS2, so it wouldn't surprise me.
For the first time ever, I cracked my phones screen. Sucks it was my damn SGS3. I need to replace mine.

That sucks man, I just got some paint peeling off at the bottom of mine, bothering the hell out of me. Would hate to spend 200$ just to fix that.
Yes the screen is glued to faceplate which is glued to the digitizer, this is my understanding at least. Good luck Bro.

Yeah it's a pain. I'd rather use insurance to fix this one. It's the same price and I get a brand new phone.

Hi, I have a wet application screen protector on my phone, and my proximity sensor does not work properly, is there an app that could possibly fix this issue?

if it were a dry application screen protector I would've done that already, but since it's wet I can't. -___-

This was much funnier when I missed the part about the OP using a screen protector.
For the OP, you either have to remove the skin, or risk using something like an exacto blade on your phone with the skin still on it. Odds are, the glass will be harder than the steel in the blade, so you PROBABLY won't gouge the hell out of it. However, even if the glass is harder, the anti-smudge coating isn't. It will reflect the light differently, so you WILL scratch it to some extent. Unless you're a brain surgeon and can literally slice through just the skin protector without touching the glass. In which case, you probably make a quarter mil plus per year and you can afford to buy another Nexus if you screw this one up. Bascially, pick one of the following: remove the skin, damage your phone, go to med school.

whats the hole on the right side of my note 3?

Ok guys....heres the question as stated above, there is a tiny hole on the bottom right hand corner of the phone, on the side, slightly to the right of the stylus?
basically, I broke my glass a few days ago....i got attacked by a very vicious ****ing dog....and my phone fell during that ordeal, and the glass cracked, ive since then replaced it....but you guessed it...i accidentally cut this sensor here on the Menu/Back key ribbon assembly...Ive noticed NOTHING absolutely NOTHING different in Operation, then again, im not sure what the sensor was for, i did see somewhere the phone is equipped with a Barometric sensor, maybe this is it? in that case i could care less, if i didnt have to take the glass off id replace it, but unless its important im not going to, but can anyone tell me what it is for sure? in the picture i posted its to the right of the back key.

Cool thank you much bud, well, luckily i have no use for it, just a pointless feature for me, but i would like it working someday again, but im not removing the glass again and putting more LOCA glue just to get that working, unfortunately the stupid menu/back button ribbon is under the glass.
but thank you for the info glad i was right

Dbrand skin, how long to use hair dryer

Just ordered some dbrand skins and according to their how to video, the final step is to use a hair dryer to kinda 'seal' it. My question, how long should I blast the skin with a hair dryer? Reason I'm asking is because I've read somewhere that touch screen issues are caused by excessive heat so I'm a little skeptical in blowing hot air into it.
Hmm, I wonder if a heat gun would work or that is too hot? Just found out that our hair dryer is dead now.
I'm guessing anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on hair dryer. Just keep at it till its warm on the back, like you've been gaming for a while and it should be good
OK, thanks man!!!
I had a skin on previously and I just replaced it with another one two days ago. you do NOT need to do it for long. only about 10/15 seconds. You'll see the skin sort of bends and bonds onto the skin. you really dont need to do it for long. do that while youre putting it on. then after it's fully applied, just blow over the entire back for about 20 seconds.
heres a pic of my skin btw

Thanks nuwan! Your skin looks really good btw!
I concur with @nuwan32 . About 10-15 seconds seem about right. The skin actually becomes softer and more malleable and binds securely to the back by then. Here is mine btw.
