I've tryed everything... I need a way to change the Notification Carrier Name. NOT THE APN!!!!
Please help.... i've tryed the app, and it didnt do anything, and the UOT Kitchen just wrote over top the carrier name.
Is it something like this where I change the carrier name to ckpv5 in the notification pulldown ?
The changes is done in spn-conf.xml which is in your system/etc. But this is for GSM, hopefully the same for CDMA.

Hi ckpv5,
I have tried to change my carrier name with editing spn number and name in spn-conf.xml but nothing happened. I am using sebs AIO 5.1.1. Do you know if I have to edit something else to apply the change?
there is no spn-config in mine, ha.
Carrier name is provided by the carrier, it's not something you can change

thank you.....
You may run into the same problems here because you are Enom's ROM. It is a great ROM, but not as easy to theme as Cyanogen. Note that the colorchange.jar is for CM ROMs, so make a nandroid backup before trying anything.

I found this link in the OP of the ROM you run:
http://www.androidspin.com/download...le=DRD20-AOSP_White_Theme_template_v2.4.1.zip
This is exactly what you need. Just change the statusbar to black (in framework/res/drawable and framework/res/drawable-land), sign, and flash.
Thanks I appreciate all the help
Hello there,
I am with a HTC Desire GSM, rooted and S-Off, with the LeeDroid ROM. I want to remove (or change it to something shorter) my operator logo in the notification bar.
I have searched on the forum and with Google, but didn't find a way to do this.
I saw the thread with the carrier name app, but it didn't work for me.
Someone suggested that you can edit the framework-res.apk or whatever it is to do it, but I wasn't able to find instructions on how to do this.
If someone can help me, I will be very grateful
Thank you in advance.
Hi
You can use online theme kitchen (UOT Kitchen) http://circle.glx.nl/ and cook your own theme.
To change just the notification bar, select the option: "No battery, theme only". You can select framework-res.apk file of your ROM/Theme from drop-down list in file upload section or extract it from your rom.zip file.
Well, thank you for the reply, but I wasn't able to get rid of the carrier name in the notification bar in the past 2 days. I have tried many times with different theme configurations, but it doesn't matter. I have tried both wthout even ticking the carrier box, or with it being ticked but set to transparent - no difference, the carrier name appears in the same place...
Can anyone help me? I am still stuck with this problem.
The carrier shouldn't even be in the notification bar. A bug perhaps? Or just something the devs did to LeeDroid? I have no idea mate at all.
i'm using desire cdma from cox wireless. after changing to uscc stock rom and sleeksense custom rom, the operator name remains unchanged. how do i change it?
i already change the operator name using qpst and cdma workshop, but it won't work at all. any sugestion?
Hey Guys,
I want to know if I can change the carrier name ?
Maybe somthing like the Pulldown Editor (He doesn't work on our device).
Does anybody know how to do this ?
Thanks.
JuLiian
The application Root Tools can do this
is there any way to do it? the anoying T-mobile text is just there and taking up my notifications bar, and my lockscreen id like to change it to mabey something cool, ive tried the carrier name change APP, tried to find the eri xml but no luck, if it has to result in recompiling the framework, res.apk has anyone successfully done it?
This is so in the wrong forum , can a mod please move this to Genera l ? (bubal I know that you're looking for an appearance mod but changing framework definitely goes beyond this forum grouping )

not easily, it's done through editing the xml of SystemUI.apk/res/layout/status_bar.xml
you have to add a reference to the smali code that adds it in the layout.
i would give you the code but i don't run any rom's that use it so i don't have it handy, you can find it with a simple google search though, most people remove it so search for "how to remove carrier label from status bar" and read the tutorials, then when you find them quote, remove the line that looks something like this.
<com.android.xxxxxx.carrierlabel android:textColor="xxxxxxx" android:xxxxx="xxxx" >
copy and paste that line and add it to your status_bar.xml where they say to remove it.
this tutorial will help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362717
