[Q] Tried everything, can't fix Desire - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, I'm literally at my wit's end. I have spent, and I kid you not, 3 hours trying to fix a friend's HTC Desire, UK T-Mobile.
I'm wanting to get it back to straight factory stock. No more ROMs, no partitioning this or that, nothing. He just wants his phone to be normal again.
I have tried different RUUs, tried command prompt, searched until my head was wanting to explode, I'm still having difficulties. There may be countless threads regarding this, some may say that I haven't searched right, but honestly, as of right now, I'm completely knackered and tearing my hair out after doing so much searching, reading the FAQ, reading other threads and Google search results. Now, all I want is just a simple answer or two, because having 15 tabs open in Firefox is making me dizzy.
Before heading to bed, this is the only info I have now:
HBOOT 6.93
Radio 5.11.05.27
We've gotten Error 110's before when trying RUUs, and he doesn't want to try anymore RUUs, since trying to find the right one was testing his patience (especially having a phone that would not get past that HTC splash screen with the four triangles). We've gotten other issues as well, and it's just been one problem after another, with no accomplishments in sight as of this writing.
Having the radio info, would this RUU be the correct one to use?
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b4a...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
Please tell me it is. I can't test on the phone because he has it with him, we were doing all of this via Skype.
Now, also, do I have to downgrade the HBOOT (from Alpharev) before I use that RUU to get the phone back to stock? I really hope not, because doing any sort of HBOOT change with the Alpharev stuff honestly gives me fits, it never goes right and ends up me being bald.
If I DO have to use the downgrader HBOOT off of Alpharev's site, would all I have to do is just rename it to "PB99IMG.img"? Yes, I'm sure this has been asked and answered countless times but I'm blitzed out. I just need a simple, straight-forward, dumbed down answer. And, I need it before my friend destroys his phone (literally).

I can give you a direct link to a Flashable Stock froyo 2.2 rom if you like.. Is it CDMA or GSM?

You have to flash downgrade... Reboot to fastboot flash stock then run RUU
If the phone is branded by cidnum you need to use goldcard to flash WWE RUU.
To flash hboot use fastboot and download proper IMG files from alpharev... Check md5 and flash...
PB99IMG.zip method is good way too
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App

Belswick - GSM, the UK doesn't use CDMA.
kotag - I can't tell if it's branded by cidnum or not.
Is all I have to do is get the downgrader img file and rename it to PB99IMG.zip and flash it as such in FASTBOOT menu? I remember trying to do the whole reflash thing before and it never worked properly. Everyone else seems to always never have problems but when I try, something always fails.

to get cid:
fastboot oem gencheckpt
there will be a reboot to recovery but on the screen look for cid number
You can't mix 2 methods together... if you download img file flash it via fastboot, if zip use pb99img.zip method... check md5 all the time

Finally got it to work but with other methods not listed here.

That fastboot command prints phone info where you can find cidnum which will tell you if branded

[Q] RUU restore for warranty fails: error 140. Anyone can help?

Hi guys,
I own a Fastweb branded desire and back key isn't working anymore.
So I'm tring to restore the branded official rom for warranty.
I got s-off and root and my gold card is in.
I've flashed the old modaco r6 rom to avoid main version is older and flashed downgrade hboot(alpharev) too.
When I start the ruu hboot 0.75 and old radio are flashed properly, but I still have custom splash and cwm recovery also system is untouched.
Ruu stops with error 140 bootloader problem.
I'm still able to flash custom roms and I can s-off again, but I really don't know what to do.
Any help?
Thanks.
Best regards.

Sorry mate, is there a way to change section?
jussy,
I had exactly the same problem so I'll answer even tho this is the wrong thread. You have to start first by extracting the zip file from the RUU. Run the RUU until it gets to the first screen then leave it there (don't close it).
Go to Start -> Run and type %temp%.
Find the temporary folder folder that's just been created (sort based on date) and find a file called 'rom.zip'. Copy this file into another location and close the RUU.

Thanks for replay.
I've extracted rom.zip and renamed to PB99IMG.zip. tried to flash it in fastboot.
Flash process start but stops before finishing leave me in the same situation as before. If I want to flash it again gives me main version is older.
I've s-off it 10 times today and made many try.
EDIT: I've also tried to flash via fastboot commander the .img files in rom.zip but after that I could only access fastboot.
Now I've flash a generic ruu to make it boot.
Tbh mate I'm not sure how to change it lol.. mayb delete and repost in q&a..
Just beware of flames coming your way lol

Dude, don't flash the zip, just put it in the root of your SD, then switch phone off, hold vol down button and reboot into recovery, your phone will recognize the pb99img.zip and some options should come up. Follow the on screen instructions and you should be unrooted in 15 mins max.

Sorry for my bad english but what you said is what I've done.
1-root and s-off.
2-flash downgrade hboot(alpharev).
3-put PB99IMG.zip (extract as said from my branded ruu) on sd card root.
4-boot power + vol down.
5-It starts, step 1 goes well then at the end of step 2 screen became black and came back with 0.75 hboot s-on and if I try again it gives me main version is older.
So I can only reboot, reflash a rom and s-off it again.
Never ending loop...
Thanks anyway.
You are using wrong RUU.use the RUU with 5.11.05.27 , I am on mobile so can't give you the exect link.I will post it tomorrow for you, if you can't find.
And it is better to create a goldcard if you havent yet

I've got my gold card already in.
Sadly there's only one ruu for my carrier.
I can flash a generic froyo ruu but it's not good for warranty.
I can't really help in terms of your issue.
If I remember right, I booted into the bootloader and switched on fastboot, then ran the RUU EXE making sure my phone was connected to my pc.
It eventually came right.
Saying that, after I got the stock ROM back on, my phone went ape (and to this day I have no idea why). Random restarts. Freezing. It was crazy. I had to upgrade the RUU for it to stay on properly. Was really weird.
There are so many threads about rooting for warrantee purposes, perhaps search them or go through thier instructions, cause I'm sure someone may have had the same issue.
Wish I could help you though.

Sorry guys I got an other problem...
Now this is the second time I bring it to assistence (last time was for vol down) and when they give it back to me it was updated to froyo.
I'm facing problem with 1.15=>1.21 OTA, installation is aborted due to status 7 (if some one can help I'll post the full error message).
Unfortunetly the ruu I've used is the only one from my carrier.
Will they know that my phone was updated by them and I'll lose my warranty?
Any idea about fixing status 7?
Many thanks.

[Q] Phone stuck in bootscreen, no answer in troubleshoot

After breaking my previous desire i got a new one from insurance past friday. I s-off and rooted it with revolutionary and ran the alpharev cm7 r2 partition table. All went fine and i installed the CM 7.2 RC rom and started downloading all my apps and stuff.
All seemed fine untill i shutdown my phone last night and when booting it up this morning it doesn't boot up into anything. I can only get into Hboot and fastboot. I've tried booting into recovery but it gets stuck on the boot screen again.
Now i've read the Q&A troubleshooter posted above here and i have already tried reflashing recovery, which sadly still didn't boot after the reflash.
Now i'm completely stuck on what to do and have been searching for over an hour now.
I've read i could do a RUU for my phone, but seeing as alpharev has protection against that i'm not certain that would even help. What would be the best solution here to get my phone working again. (and if possible with the current data on it , i hadn't made a backup of the full install yet)
Edit: some extra info
Hboot 6.93.1002
Bravo PVT3 S-off
radio 5.11.05.27
CM 7.2 RC
clockwork, not sure newest version for desire afaik
Did you try to remove battery?
yes, seeing as that is the only option right now to turn my phone off .
I also ran fastboot oem gencheckpt to force boot into recovery. The phone got stuck at htc splashscreen. I posted the cmd image information in this post.
when i pulled the battery to shut down the phone, the cmd gave and "error, to many links"
edit:
i ran the alpharev downgrade image to overwrite my hboot and see if i could get into recovery after reflashing that aswell. Sadly this didn't work and after flashing both it still gets stuck at the htc splash screen
i ran the downgrade hboot again and will not try to fix it with a RUU
hmm, the phone is still recognized by the pc, but i have a black screen and can't get it to display anything. did i use a bad ruu or? I"m really confused now :|
after looking in the troubleshoot again i tried to flash the bravo stock from alpha rev, but i'm getting a FAILED <remote: signature verify fail>
well seeing as i most likelly need a goldcard now and don't have another android device laying around i will have to continue this tomorrow or tonight.
if ANYBODY has any advice everything is really appriciated!
what RUU did you flash?
if it was under 2.xx that means you did slcd brick have look here
flash bravo stock from alpharev, then run (if you have a goldcard) the 2.2 WWE RUU, or your carriers RUU (make sure it's the latest one)
Check shipped-roms.com
i think i ran this RUU
RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U _4.05.00.11_release_121865.exe
which i got from this post, which i now see is terribly out-dated xD.
I got my phone from vodafone in Holland, and i just saw an RUU for bravo that was shipped by vodafone UK which also supports the same radio as mine. Is it a safe bet to use that one for the recovery process?
I wasn't able to run any images right now from fastboot for some reason so i will indeed need to make a goldcard. Will do so tomorrow and report back if i've had any succes.
Thanks for the advise!
OK, so i'm a bit confused by that guide i'm afraid...
I've noticed that in step 4 that i'm unable to enter recovery (no surprise seeing as i was unable before the RUU).
I can boot in to fastboot and hboot i think seeing as i get the "device connected sound" in windows. When i then enter ADB devices or fastboot oem gencheckpt it gives me some information, which can be seen in the screenshot.
What i'm now confused about is, do i still need to make a goldcard, and if so how? I tried running that goldcard creater software but it couldn't pull a CID. Should i create a goldcard by just using a phone of my friend (desire s :|)? Or is it possible to just run the right RUU straight away seeing as i can connect to hboot and fastboot, let that run and when that is finished use revolutionary to root my phone agian.
Attached is the cmd for fastboot oem gencheckpt and adb devices, although normally the fastboot oem gencheckpt finished with a "FAILED <status read failed<too many links>>
Gimme bootloader information, also what state is the phone in now, and what have you tried so far. (quick summary)
My bad just read you last posts.
Try the Vodafone RUU, it should work, don't see why it shouldn't. If that fails, make a goldcard with your friends Desire S, and flash the 2.2 WWE RUU.
If that fails then use the 2.3 RUU.
Ah great!!! I ran the vodafone ruu and atleast now i'm getting fastboot and hboot displayed again.
I'll see how far i can get on my own now. Thanks alot for all your help
Darn, aren't there yet...
I can now get into fastboot and hboot WITH it being displayed so that is already a big plus. However i'm still on a off partition format so i need to flash that back to the original partition format.
I'm S-ON right now so i can't do it through fastboot.
So i made the goldcard through my friends phone and place a PB99IMG.zip containing the alpharev bravostock on the goldcard.
When i then boot into HBOOT it gives me the reading PB99IMG.zip but doesn't give me an option to run the update afterwards. I then checked with the RUU i ran from my pc and created an PB99IMG.zip of that and let it run from HBOOT thus checking if the goldcard was functional. This worked perfectly apart from the partition table being screwed.
How can i now either install recovery from my goldcard while being S-ON or how can i succesfully run the bravo_stock image from my goldcard?
edit: I know i could use the old s-off trick from alpharev but i would prefer to use revolutionary instead seeing as it's more up to date...
k i think i know what to do.
i'll just create a bootable USB with the 1.8 hboot from alpharev on it. S-off my device and restore the partitions to stock.
Then run the RUU again so that my phone returns to stock sense and S-on.
After that i should be the basic root process all over again by running revolutionary etc right?
If you're S-ON. You DO NOT need to touch the hboot, and you can't anyway.
If you've got a goldcard just try the WWE RUU. And if that doesn't fix it then the 2.3 RUU.
That's all you need to do. NOTHING else.
The 2.3 RUU (the vodafone one i downloaded) doesn't work.
I don't think any RUU will work for my seeing as i'm still on the CM 7 r2 partition layout instead of the original sense layout (a little mistake i made when running the first faulty RUU). I'll try to run the WWE RUU first, but i don't think it'll achieve anything.
If i would now run the alpharev 1.8 hboot from a bootable USB it shouldn't put my device at risk right? :|
Edit:
i'm actually getting CID incorrect from the WWE RUU from the troubleshoot thread and from another WWE RUU i downloaded from shipped-roms.com
edit2:
alright, i tried 2 WWE RUUs, which when ran from my PC give me ERROR[131]: customer-ID error and a CID incorrect when done from my goldcard... i also tried alpharev hboot 1.8 but that didn't work either for the obvious reason that you need to boot into android and enable usb debugging and the WWE RUUs for i do not know what reason .
Damn i thought i had figured it out before going to college but aparently i was wrong >.<
i don't know if it's relevant but when i try to boot normally i get the HTC splash screen and it vibrates 7 times in a row...
So i think my goldcard might not be as golden as it should be. Should i try it with my other microSD, the one that i actually use in my phone, an 16 gb kingston?
If so can i use the same goldcard.img or should i create a new one?

Dear god how many times do I just need to repeat myself.
Just download http://www.htcdev.com/process/legal_download/152 , boot into fastboot mode, then run RUU.exe
There is no vodafone 2.3 RUU, there is only one, and it is unbranded.

ah right i'm sorry, i was a bit confused about that ruu because of some of the information displayed on shipped-rom.com. Prolly read it wrong or something.
Anyway the 2.3 RUU did indeed fix it! quite surprised after all this really didn't expect it! Thanks out a load and i'm sorry for touching a nerve there, it's just the first time doing anything like this so it was all a tad bit confusing!

[Q] Bricked after OTA update failed

Hi I've been searching for days and have always been able to find answers but this one has got me.
My gf has a HTC Desire HD, pretty sure it's Vodafone since she works there. Tried to do a normal update a while ago and it never started since, just sits on the HTC logo. I can boot into fastboot hboot recovery and all that but I'm stuck as to what to do from here.
I have found a couple of WWE RUU's but the error out with a CID error, I've also found a Vodafone backup someone took from clockwork but this phone only has stock recovery and I don't know how to flash clockwork without being able to boot the phone.
Hoping someone might have an easy answer, please let me know if I need to provide more details.
Thanks.
If its rooted just place a rom on the sd and flash it with full wipe. You are not suppose to accept OTA updates if the phone is rooted if Im not mistaken. If not rooted then go to HTC websight and get the official RUU and install, instructions should be on websight.

Get me the CID and Iwill provide u with a ruu that works...VODAFONE from where? not all ruu's are available, but at least we can find one that makes your phone back to work...:good:
Unfortuanately it isn't rooted, I probably would've had more luck by now if it was.
I can't see the CID on the bootloader is there a command on fastboot or something to find this? I've been searching but can't find anything.
Sorry I thought of that afterwards, it's Vodafone Australia.
Thanks for the replies guys!
I just tried that European RUU thought I didn't have anything to loose but it came back with ERROR 132 Signature Error.
The Australian HTC site doesn't have a RUU to download that I can see.

yep, do the following: boot in hboot and choose fastboot. Then plug the phone (check that you see fastboot usb in red)
Open cmd as admin or a terminal as root and then, type fastboot getvar all. Get the INFOcidnum and paste it here. With that I will try to find a ruu that works. But stop trying flashing other things...you might mess the device.
Hi
Thanks again for the help. The cidnum: VODAP021

Solution!!
Ok firstly sorry it's taken me ages to post this but I finally came up with a solution to this problem using a few different guides and instructions on these forums.
So the problem was I had a Vodafone AU branded HTC Desire HD that had no root and a locked bootloader that was stuck in a bootloop after a failed official update. The main problem is that there is NO stock recovery ROM ANYWHERE for a Vodafone AU HTC Desire HD, trust me I looked and I am not new to looking for stuff like this. glevitan provided me with a WW ROM that I managed to get working with a bit of work, there are also many WW ROM's around that you should also be able to use. I'll try to explain as best I can as to how I got it to work (going from memory) so if anyone else has a similar problem they may be able to use this information.
1. Firstly find a suitable WW ROM to flash, it needs to be a PD98IMG.zip image to copy to an SD card. There is a Vodafone AU dump on this forum but that will not work if you are completely stock standard. I think you can get this zip from the RUU or maybe ask glevitan if he wouldn't mind helping in providing this again. I didn't want to link to his file but there are others around.
2. Create a goldcard. If you turn your SD card into a goldcard it will allow any ROM to be flashed, normally it would only accept the Vodafone AU one but by doing this it will accept the WW one. To do this I used a second phone to create the card.
I used the Ultimate multi tool which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180639
You may have to do a bit of reading on getting it to work, from memory you have to put in a number to a website to generate a file, I think I ended up using a different website, there's a few options in getting this done, google is your friend for this
3. Once the goldcard is created copy the PD98IMG.zip to the root directory and put it back into the phone.
4. Turn on the phone and boot to hboot by holding vol up (I think) on power on. The phone should automatically check for a suitable PD98IMG.zip file and as long as the goldcard process worked and you have a suitable ROM on the root directory it should flash it fine.
This is basically what I did and it successfully booted after a lot of looking around. I hope this helps people in the future with similar problems. If you need to ask any questions about this process as I haven't provided every single detail please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help you out.
Thanks again to glevitan for helping and providing a suitable ROM to flash.

Is this the 4.08.605.15 RUU?

Okay, links first: PB31IMG.zip and PDM_4.08.605.15_release.zip
I was tooling around the intarwebs wondering if a 4.08.605.15 RUU had ever made itself available, and stumbled across this VZW Community thread. All the way at the last message I noticed a user linking to an RUU on dev-host.org.
So I'm thinking to myself, "Self, that's really unusual, especially for a message reportedly sent to the poster from HTC."
So I follow the link. It's going to what appears to be the 4.08.605.2 RUU. Slightly disappointing, but I decide to click on the username to see what else they might have publicly posted. There's a number of interesting files available, but inside the ROMs folder I notice a recently uploaded PB32IMG.zip of an appropriate size for our phones.
So I download it.
Inside most of the files are timestamped May 29, 2012, and the android-info.txt file contains the following:
Code:
modelid: PB3120000
cidnum: VZW__001
mainver: 4.08.605.15
hbootpreupdate:3
:good:
The included hboot appears to be 1.07.0000 (!!!). There's also a ramdisk.img and the radio.img matches the 2.15.10.12.20 radio I had (as opposed to 2.15.10.07.07 that came with 4.08.605.2). boot.img, recovery.img, and system.img are all different as well, but I don't have anything immediately handy at work to mount the images and diff their contents with.
Now, this might be a fake, but it's a lot of work to go through to build.
I kinda need my incredible since it's my phone and I'm not down with guinea-pigging my real device on stuff like this, but I thought some devs or more intrepid users might want to check it out and see if it's legit.
Should that link go down, I kept a copy.
Edit: Added second link to PDM_408.605.15_release.zip. This zip file contains both the PB31IMG.zip (SHA-1 identical to the first link) and the RUU Utility (amongst other things) digitally signed by HTC. I'm pretty sure this is legit. Got a copy of this too...
It does appear to be legit. But im not sure how to tell for sure other than finding someone who is s-on, and seeing if it flashes.
Im gonna flash it and see what happens, but im s-off.
Let me know what you find. Would there be a way back to s-off if one unlocks their bootloader?

It does flash 4.08.605.15, so I'm gonna say its the real deal. Great find.
What do you mean way back to s-off? As in can you get s-off by unlocking the bootloader, or if you unlock the bootloader will you lose s-off.
Sorry, that was rather obtuse. I was just thinking that if one was s-on and flashed the RUU, would they be able to regain s-off? I haven't had to research rooting an Inc in a looong time, though I suppose with an unlockable bootloader it wouldn't be as much of an issue. (Oh look, you have a thread about how to do it! How about that.)
I wonder what else is posted on that account that nobody else has seen before?

I looked at all the files, and this ruu seems to be the only file for the incredible.
Not just for the Incredible, but for other phones too. There's a lot of what appear to be RUU zip files for devices that have been recently uploaded. The Evo 4G, Evo 3D, Amaze, and Sensation at a glance.
Help
ardax and cmlusco,
Do you guys happened to keep a copy of the RUU for this version
(4.08.605.15)? - the RUU file in the 2nd link is no longer valid.
Here's my situation and hope it will help someone in this community:
I was new to this. I got an old Droid Incredible from someone. The device
was installed with various program and was reported 'space low'. I add
a 16GB SD and installed Maps.Me lite. Not long after that the thing crashed.
I was trapped in the boot loop.
I was able to unlock the bootloader. But I was not able to get to s-off, since
it seems that it requires the device to be able to boot up or enter into the
debug mode, which I did not do when the device was OK.
I played around and the flash of clockworkmod is of no effect. The flash
of system, boot, and recovery all failed to bring the the device out of the
boot loop. I tried some SD PB31IMG.zip and all failed. The only thing I
have been able to do is RUU with the 4.08.605.2, which downgraded from
4.08.605.19. Earlier version give me the HBoot version error.
Since the 4.08.605.2 is a small file about 8MB. It may not change the
system much to bring the device out of the boot loop and since the
only thing I have been successful is with RUU. If you guys still have
the RUU around, I think it may do the trick for me - I have been
look abound on the web but haven't find a copy of it.
Thanks.
Duncan
The RUU is still available at http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/
I think that's cmlusco's site.
ardax,
Thanks for quick reply.
Sorry for a newbie's question:
I thought RUU is a .exe file that can execute under the Windows?
For a zip file, all I know how to handle it is put in a FAT32 SD card
and boot the Incredible into HBoot - which I have tried for some
PB31IMG.zip file and haven't have any luck - I do not know the
reason why it is failed.
Is doing this way with zip file the same as RUU?
Thanks.
UPDATE: I just tried the zip file by putting it on a FAT32 SD card and
boot into fastboot. Still reporting No Imange or Wrong Image.
-- Not working. Still trapped in the Boot Loop.
Try flashing from fastboot then. I don't remember if this will work with an unlocked bootloader though.
The basic gist of it is this:
* Reboot into bootloader
* run "fastboot.exe oem rebootRUU"
* Once you're in RUU mode, "fastboot.exe flash zip PB31IMG.zip" (The zip file needs to be on your PC.)
* You'll most likely get an error pretty quickly telling you to try again (right after the hboot pre-update), so rerun the previous command
* With all good luck, watch the flash go for a few minutes
* When it's done run "fastboot.exe reboot"
You should be back to stock. Now you can re-unlock the bootloader if needed and/or try to gain S-OFF.
If you're not comfortable with this procedure, I'd recommend looking for more explicit step-by-step instructions.
Does anyone still have the links for this? Or can the re-up them?

Sorry, I don't have the files anymore, since my Droid Incredible is long since dead.

[Q] Desire HD in bootloop obscure problem

Hello all!
I may be new to XDA, but i lurk a lot... And over the years this is the first time i've ever needed to post.
Right.. So today i bought an "HTC Desire HD" or 'Ace'
It was on Froyo (2.1?) S-ON and hboot 0.85 or something
I tried using AAHK - Which is fine, I've used it before successfully on my other DHD.
This time it was upgrading/downgrading a radio, error'd and quit.
It then restarted and bootloooped.
I tried Factory Restore did nothing
I then tried using many and various RUU's but i always get Error 131 or Error 190
I tried making a GoldCard to boot the phone still nothing
I also tried the PD98IMG.zip in the SD card (Tried with GoldCard too) Still Error 131
GoldCard does work as have tested it on another phone.
Currently sat staring at HBOOT wondering what the hell i can do to get it too switch back on!
The phone is locked to Orange UK with S-ON
The file that i believe to fix my phone is called "RUU-Ace-Orange-UK.18" something, but it just doesn't exist. I've searched all of google and only found dead links.
Just a little motivation, I'll donate to whom ever provides the fix for my phone my old Xperia Mini e10i! Thanks
AAHK is retired, and the server hosting the files it needs has been pulled. Without S-Off you can't flash radios. Are you just trying to root? If so, you can unlock your bootloader, flash a recovery, and flash a rooted ROM from there. You can't flash radios, but you can flash custom ROMs. The link in my signature has more detailed guides.
EDIT: but you will first need to update your hboot.

Please link me to hboot update, I've looked around but all links give me "downloadmanagerS.exe" :/
EDIT: I found the file for RUU Ace Orange UK (My phone is on Orange), but it's not finding my phone. And when i took the ROM out of it, and put onto simcard it's giving me an Incorrect Model ID
I believe that because your hboot is too old, you need to create a gold card to flash a RUU that supports hboot unlock. How to do that is beyond the scope of my knowledge, and due to the fact that the guy who used to handle all this stuff (glevitan) is no longer active here, you may just need to hope someone else shows up. You could try to look through his posts for that info.

So my phone is dead then D;
Basically you need to create a Goldcard and upgrade your bootloader.
I also have a Orange DHD and i am S-Off'd using another methord but the difference is that i have sense 3.0.
But due to your phones CID being ORANG001 you'll need the goldcard as there is no orange RUU firmware only HTC generic firmware.
Shot a PM if you still need help.
