If there's already a post somewhere about this, I have not found it after searching, so I apologize and will delete if anyone says there's already a post somewhere. Thanks for any help on this issue.

Are you on Mtd rom or Bml? Also if youre trying to make backup using rom manager try to make backup In CWR instead.

NONONONO. MTD has it's own special recovery. If you changed it that is the problem. You will need to reflash an MTD ROM to restore MTD CWM.

You need Odin installed on your PC, and this file I have attached. Turn your phone off, hold down both volume buttons and hook up the USB cable which is already connected to the machine running Odin. Open Odin, and select PDA, find the file you downloaded from this post and select it. Now click start in Odin & violla !

No it won't wipe your data.
As far as OTAs go, it has to be stock everything.

Either. I do mobile. Flash the el26 tar and it will reboot. Hold power + volume up till you get to cwm. Then wipe and flash new rom per instructions of it's op. Good luck.
Edit: most ics roms don't include a custom recovery for a reason. Always Odin to el26 first, it's the safest way right now.

"S" Stock Boot/Shutdown Anim
For anyone who wants to switch out the stock boot animation in any ROM, this is the "S" Boot screen pulled from the Koodo 4.0.4 Update.
This will replace your stock boot screen on any kernel as it is not a "custom" boot animation

Okay, I used the toolkit to NANDROID backup, 3x 5 minutes apart to be safe. Now that I want to go back after flashing a rom that is force closing eafh restore is throwing an error from the beginning using CWM. Im wanting the stock kernel and rom.
I am aware this was probably user error, nevertheless I need a few pointers.
Thanks in advance,
CJ
First pointer post in the right section and answer use Odin to restore back to factory and possibly restart...
