So I will be getting my vzw nexus this Saturday, and I would like to have a case on the day I get it, but looking at all the cases online, I just get confused which ones are made for the vzw nexus. I was disappointed that the ringke slim is not for the vzw nexus, that was the case I really wanted. So now I am looking at the incipio silicrylic, but I can't find weather it fits on the vzw nexus. Could someone tell me if it fits on the vzw nexus?
Also a list of cases that are made for the vzw nexus would be helpful also, thanks.
One more thing, does anybody know if a version of the ringke slim will be made for the vzw nexus?
yes it is made for the verizon/CDMA version of the gnex. i have it and i'm really pleased with its protection, but it does add a good deal of thickness to the phone.
So far all incipio cases are made for verizon nexus. I use feather case.
most tpu cases also work.

Not really. Diztronic and CruzerLite cases has been the only brand that works properly, without deformation and bowing out at the sides.

True. Diztronic was the only one that fit properly to trust my Verizon Nexus in.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus - 4.0.3 AOSP
Asus Transformer - Revolver OC/UV
Thanks for the replies, I was looking at case reviews on YouTube, and the case most similar to the RingKe Slim that is for the vzw nexus is the case mate barely there case from what I saw, I just want to verify that it is actually for the vzw nexus before I order it though. So can anyone confirm the the barely there case fits the vzw nexus?

I have had the Otterbox defender on since day one. And it protects great. Today i took it off to swap my battery and remembered how great this phone looks without it. But I'm not one to go unprotected.
I'm looking for suggestions on other cases. Something that protects but necessarily the bulk of the Otterbox. I work a office job so rugged case isn't too necessary.
Must be compatible with the extended battery.
I was looking at the SGP Neo hybrid cases but they say coming soon on the website.
Please share your suggestions. Thanks guys.

Hey, i have the commuter case on for a few days now and i love it. It adds just enough bulk and size to the phone to make is sit and feel perfect in my hand. But everyones hands are different so not all will think its great. I did however order the Neo Hybrid case in Reventon yellow and should have it tomorrow or saturday and ill let you know how it is and feels along with some pics, and possibly a small review.
But so far i LOVE the commuter case. should take a look at it. i wrote up a review but i have to do a few more posts before xda lets me post it lol
I have the Otterbox Defender as well and am surprised at how much I like it... Typically like nothing on my phones but gotta have protection on this beauty...
Just got an Incipio Silicrylic in the mail to try... Definitely less bulk than the Otterbox... You can actually see some of the sexy lines of the Nexus with this case.... The Incipio provides some protection, as it does have at least some hard plastic to it, but not anything close to the Otterbox.. Not sure that my GNex would survive a fall on a hard surface in the Incipio....
Problem with the Incipio is that it will not fit in the Otterbox holster or the Verizon holster that I already have, so probably will go back to the OB Defender...
Anybody interested in making me an offer on a brand new Incipio or Verizon Case & Holder I will listen....
One reason for my Otterbox purchase was the holster. But i have never used it. It's too big to have clipped on my side.
I know no case will protect like the defender but im good with my phones to get a scaled down case. I thought about the commuter but not sure how much size difference there is.
What price you looking at for your incipio?

I watched a review and it said with the extended battery the plastic outer shell just fit tightly against the silicone as it does at the top. Did you notice this?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Fit tight w/extended battery in, but not a problem in my opinion... I would bet it might even loosen up a bit over time...
I like the Incipio's look and feel... Much smaller size than OB, but have to have a holster to carry my GNex..
It doesn't have quite the amount of protection (ie not waterproof) like the defender but soon Ballistic will release their case for the Galaxy Nexus. I have a Galaxy Nexus on the way and will be giving my Nexus S to my wife. My wife is like a phone's worst nightmare. She seems to always be dropping them and my two kids are both under 3 and the oldest loves to snatch our phones. I got the Ballistic case for the Nexus S for her and after putting it on yesterday I'm a believer. I already have it covered completely by Ghost Armor skin, and with the Ballistic case it's just very well protected. The bumpers on the corners are amazing and so is the fit and finish. Makes the phone pretty bulky (not as much as the defender) but it makes the phone much nicer to hold and type on. I would recommend it for the Galaxy Nexus. I have a TPU case on order but will pick up the Galaxy Nexus version Ballistic case too once it is released.

Do you have any quick impressions/pics of the Neo Hybrid? It'll be interesting to see how well it fits the LTE GNex since it was designed for the GSM non-extended battery GNex.
I have the Incipio Silicrylic (aka Double Cover, VZW repackaged). It's a nice case and it fits well on the phone. It doesn't add too much bulk. I like that the hard cover goes around the corners, unlike the Otterbox Commuter. Cutouts for the phone are nice. No need to mess around with clumsy flaps. And the buttons work well under the silicone cover. Great case for less. I got mine at the Verizon store for $20 +tax after a discount. I don't use a holster, but I am looking into getting an XO Skin.
Another alternative that I was initially looking at was the Seidio Surface Combo. It's a hard soft-touch case with a holster, if you need the holster. They also sell it without.
Are there any cases with kickstand that fit the Verizon Nexus LTE with extended battery?

Did you look at the stickied thread? Go HERE
Seidioonline.com offers their Active version with/out a kickstand. I have the black version with kickstand. Fits very well. This was covered in the stickie thread. HERE or HERE.
A few threads down is this one for another kickstand case. I don't know if it'll fit the VZW version though.
BTW, if you happen to come upon an S-Line Hybrid case on ebay or amazon, that happen to have a kickstand built-in, don't get it. In fact, don't get ANY S-Line stuff. Doesn't fit the LTE version.
Has anyone found any TPU bumper for Verizon Galaxy Nexus? I am trying to get one and it seems no one makes for Verizon version... I did see there is aluminum one for GSM that fits into LTE version with longer screws but I rather go with TPU for less bulky phone...

Hi everyone. I'm currently looking to buy a new case and I'm interested in one of the following:
- Trident Aegis
- Casemate Tough
- Incipio Silicrylic
I honestly don't know which one to buy. I use a GSM Nexus with the 2000mah battery. Can anyone give me some suggestions or opinions on these cases?
Anyone?

Never used the Aegis on my nexus just the kraken case but I like how the silicon is thicker then most others and the poly carbonate also seems stronger/more supportive. just go into a store and try them on your phone and see how you like them.
I'm using the Aegis now and love it. It was either this or the otterbox commuter. What sealed the deal for me was the included screen protector. The trident aegis includes a full size protector, where as the otter box gives you one that only covers a portion of the screen. Not sure why they did that, but they lost a sale with me. Not regretting the Aegis purchase one bit.

None of those. I recommend the Case-mate POP case. It fits very well with the extended battery cover and it's fairly easy to put on and take off. You can probably find the white ones at Sprint stores. It was the first case I bought and I haven't even bothered looking around for another...and I usually buy many cases.

Actually I forgot to mention that I currently use the pop case and I like it a lot but as you mentioned I also buy a lot of cases and those three caught my attention.

I would not recommend the Silicrylic. The silicone layer of the case is WAY too flimsy. When I swipe from left to right and hit the side of the case, the silicone moves because its so flimsy. The case I got also didn't really fit correctly. The top layer was curved so it there was space between the two layers.
Trident kraken

The Ballistic case looks pretty good too, I'd look into that. I personally use the Trident Kraken; though I understand many will not like it for it's thickness.

I know how you feel. Sometimes you just have to try another case.
But I have checked out a bunch of video reviews for other cases and I have seen that the ones that have 2 parts, like the ones you mention, usually don't fit the phone as well when it has the extended battery installed. I guess it's the nature of the design. That would probably apply to the Ballistic as well, same concept.
If I had to choose between the three, I would go with the Aegis as that's the only one I have seen that fits the extended battery well enough.
One thing I have found that helps is to look at cases that were designed for the Verizon/Sprint versions of the Galaxy Nexus as they are already thicker so should fit the GSM model w/ ext. battery better.
Ultimately, the decision is yours but that's just my 2 cents. Good luck.
A little ingenuity can go a long way. Check out the little mod I did to my sylcrilic case.

I do agree that the sides are extremely flimsy. But is fits great with the extended battery. I have the Verizon gnex with extended battery

That's definitely an interesting mod, but I feel it only fits with the extended battery cover because all that silicone was cut out.
Question though, where can you get that carbon fiber adhesive? Is there anywhere "in-store" that it can be purchased? I would like to check out the "texture" before buying.
Probably. I ordered 6ft roll off Amazon for $30. And it is the legit 3m vinyl. Its super slippery. I tried it on my battery cover and it led to many close calls. But then I put the cut to fit zagg invisible shield over that and it is awesome.

I have been using Otterbox defend cases for pretty much all my previous phones from iPhone 4, HTC One X and Galaxy S3.
I like its quality. I just got a Nexus 5, tried to find Otterbox case for N5, I am not able find.
Looks like Otterbox does not make cases for N4 and N5. Any reason for this.
Which case is similar to Otterbox defend ?
Forgot they weren't making any Otterbox cases for this phone. Try this one: http://www.goballisticcase.com/products/google-nexus-5-ballistic-sg-maxx-series-case

I've always been happier with the quality of Ballistic. No real loss in my opinion.

I actually like the Otterbox as I've had for the last four phones I've owned.
However, the Ballistic SG Maxx is a good case. Even the i-Blason Armorbox protected me from two drops. But I'm using the Ballistic now because I like having a pocket/belt holster.
