Paradise Island Trainer
Android APK - Mirror
Desktop Java App - Mirror
He has the apk and the desktop app.
Android APK-
All you have to do is edit the permissions of the profile0.sav file and the apk will work. Root Explore is what I use.
Location on Android:
data/data/com.seventeenbullets.android.island/files/profile0.sav
Desktop Java App-
Place the jar file and the sav file in the same folder.
Use command-line as follows: java -jar PITrainer.jar profile0.sav
More info on the link above.
Notes: I have done this and it works. I have done a lot to mess with this game and have been even suspended from the Sociality stuff for the time change cheat. I did get it back after time caught up. This trainer hasn't given me any trouble but does take away from the game a little if you've worked your butt off on it.

Hi I already download the files but I can not find the folder where the file profile0.sav and i install several programs to explore the phone and find the folder in any, or the file, I look in the phone and connect it to the computer and either,
someone who can help me?
could it be that the app is broken? my phone is rooted, all permissions for user, admin and others are setted but when i start the pitrainer my phone just vibrates a few times and then broke up the app? :\
anybody knows how i could make the trainer running?
Location of profile0.sav-
data/data/com.seventeenbullets.android.island/files/profile0.sav
edit the permissions of the profile0.sav file.
Nothing else to do. If the permissions are not set or your game file is bad, it will not open.
Might try the desktop.
pitrainer
i changed the permissions for the profile file and it worked fine. but, now after using the trainer a couple times successfully, every time i open pitrainer it immediately encounters an error and says that it is unable to open. i tried reinstalling paradise island and using the trainer but, it still won't work. has anyone else had success using this. maybe the last update disabled the use of the trainer?
Hi I like to confirm that this works with v1.2.23. Cheers
Great.. I did it. It's works in my mobile.

NullPointerException
HTML:
Hi
I receive NullPointerException when I run .jar file using windows command prompt
After entering ActionEnergy and hit enter this exception occures. Please help what I need to do? Using root explorer I have changed the file permissions but when I copy file to storage so that I could copy on my computer, but as soon as I copy on storage (profile0.sav) the file permission reset. Then using windows security I have changed permission but still get the same exception. And .apk just open and closes with error.
device is rooted as I could change file permissions.
the .sav file is no more.
all i can find is a .obb file
does this trainer work with it? and if yes, please tell me how.
Thanks!

**UPDATE** This project maybe abandoned, after using Stericson's method i found signing to be much easier. You can find his method here. There has been 26 people who downloaded my tool and if those users want me to continue on this project, i will. but i recommend giving Stericson's method a try. You will still need to make sure both Jave JRE and Java JDK are installed with Stericson's Method and also with his script make sure to type in yes or no, not y or n =).
I would appreciate if anyone using my tool would post here if they want me to continue with this project or not.
Right now it will only sign update.zip,framework-res.apk and Launcher.apk. I am working on adding all of the other apks to this app.
This app was built in Visual Studio 2008, you may need .Net3.5 Framework installed to run it.
To use this app just extract it to a folder.
It includes:
update
-update\app
-update\framework
Auto-Sign.exe
signapk.jar
testkey.pk8
testkey.x509.pem
This app works the same as Dave Da illest 1's autosign.bat. If you have signed themes with dave's method you will be able to use this.
You will need to make sure that Java is installed for this to work, make sure to install JRE and JDK here.
Once you extract the files into a folder, copy a theme's update.zip into the root folder. Extract the the files you will be editing, edit your files, drag them back into the apk use this program to sign the apk, drag the apk back into update.zip and use this program to sign the update.zip.
When signing Launcher.apk or any other app's apk the program will look in:
"whatever folder you extracted to"\update\app.
Please leave me any comments or questions i will try to respond to them. If you have any other ideas or plain think this app sucks and i should delete immediately let me know =)
I will add the updates and some screen shots in the next few days.
::UPDATE:: 01/17/09
I made a few changes to the app, I also added the folders that the program is expecting to be there. Now when you load the app it tells you if the files are found or not. Also I added framework-res.apk to the list to be signed.
I am working on a part of the app that will allow it to check if the original file was signed or not. This way it will not create a _signed.apk or zip.
::UPDATE::: 01/18/09
I have added some labels to the GUI that will tell you if the files are found or not. I changed around the buttons and gave a little bit better description under the read me button. I got rid of the message boxes when you started the app. Comment here and let me know what you think.
Sucks.
Just kiddin works fine thank ya. =D
I just think you guys are making more work for yourselves by using this version of the signing tool that still creates a double. Why not use the version that overwrites the file with the signed apk, so you will do less work?

Hey Stericson, I changed the code in that app so it doesn't write the new signed file. But i noticed the original file didnt change either. Should signing the file change the modified time when you look at the properties? if not there is there another confirmation, to tell the file has been signed?
yes it should show a modified time.

I am running tests on update.zip, Launcher.apk and framework-res.apk. In the next few days i will release a full blown app that will sign all of the apks that people will be editing.
Thanks. I am looking forward to that release. I tried to use the app to resign Launcher.apk and I can't find the Launcher_signed in the app folder.

The way the program is now it is a little more work, but a lot of people don't know anything about system variables and eventually i would like to make the program import the files directly into the correct apks and then push them into the update.zip after they are signed and then sign the update.zip itself.
I am still not getting any new files or folders that say ...._signed. I am now using v.65.

We have to sign the files because Google setup Android so not just anyone could install anything they wanted. They wanted to have control of what was installed. Which was flubbed by JesusFreke and the other XDA hackers.
Short answer...it is a security measure set by Google.
more proof the universe is against me.
so... i tried using koush's steps to install auto-rotate browser. i first had to download the android sdk, however i cannot get it to install correctly and have never seen the tools folder. then i find out that there is a way that is easier (for me). downloaded the auto-sign app. then, found out i had to download 2 java apps, so i tried. the installation was unsuccessful. this is odd because with all the steps it took to get root, it was actually quite easy. but auto-rotate browser just does not want to be on my G1.
ok, i tried downloading the java apps again, this time, instead of downloading with the sun download manager, i double clicked on the file name to download with my firefox browser and it worked just fine. fyi.

BTW.. this auto-sign tool was the only way I could get signing to work.. so THANK YOU and I hope you will continue this project.
I built this tool before i had a full understanding about signing. there is no need to sign the other apks...just the update.zip. It signs all the apks below it. so this tool is fully functional. I just didnt know it at the time heh =)
Glad it helped you out.
vista 64 bit?
hello, i was wandering if this would work with vista 64 bit.. for some odd reason on my old computer i was able to sign the files no problem but now with my new computer after "signing" it gets stuck on the animated screen... Is anyone using this and running Vista 64bit?? Have a good day..
if i edit my build.prop with astro, on a reboot the changes are lost, the file is marked r-w, so something altering it on bootup, anybody know where the source comes from??
Download Root Explorer and use that. Trust.
tried that, it keeps getting overwritten with some king of backup.

If that's the case, then it's a problem specific to the ROM. I haven't tried it on my TP2 but it worked flawlessly on my G1.
Lemme take a look once I get a second.
why cant i find the directory /system/ ?!?! i cant find the build.prop from within windows or winmo?!

Because it does not excist in winmo. It only excists in android.
I tried Root Explorer and it workers . I use latest froyo build with lower incall volume kernel .
Can somebody tell me when I delete apps in system/apps folder I delete from data.img or from system.ext2 ?
Same here, I change my build.prop file or replace it and it gets overwritten.
Using the build.prop for protected apps but can't get it to stay.
I am using the latest BLAZEN build from PPCGEEKS/Reefer.
Being an Ext2 file instead of sqsh I figure this would have worked flawless.
I'd really like to download logmein, gbahours, paypal and a few other protected apps. I can't without fixing this build.prop file....
OR
Find some way to get a working fingerprint Google has already approved.
Glad to see I'm not the only one looking into this I have the same problem in my android OS - different phone, but same custom OS. Hopefully this thread won't die - if I ever figure it out I'll be sure to post here as well
Well, I deleted one app too many from my Defy. Titanium Backup is wonderful, but it backs up ONLY DATA for system apps, so I'm hosed UNLESS...
Could someone mail me the original Contacts app? It's data backup is named 'Contacts-2.1-update1' with the internal name 'com.motorola.blur.contacts'. I think that's all I'd need. There's also 'ContactsUnconnected-2.1-update1' and 'Work-Contacts-2.1-update1' so it wouldn't hurt to get them too.
BTW, the symptoms? When I try to dial by tapping on a contact name the call fails, a red stop sign flashes over the signal strength bars, and an alarm message is posted saying something to the effect that the network service is not available. To make a call I need to do a long press and choose Call from the menu. Ouch!
So, please, anyone who knows how to do it (I use Ghost Commander, a free app, which has a Send built in) send this app to 'Mars-On-Earth at dslextreme dot com'.
Thanks a bunch!

MOTODEV Studio does not contain app files. It is Motorola's developer tools for Android phones. Sorensiim is referring to the DDMS perspective that ships with it. DDMS allows you to extract files off the phone and there is an Eclipse view in MOTODEV Studio.
If you already have the Android SDK installed, you can run the DDMS desktop application from sdk/tools (on windows, it's a .bat file).

Do you even have to sign up for anything?
I haven't and yet I was able to find this download page by Googling 'MotoDev Studio'.
Anyway, I just wanted to double-check/see if I understood things correctly, does MotoDev Studio let you delete/uninstall apks from the handset?
Could it be used as a simpler method of doing this.
Motodev studio gives you a nice graphical interface to pushing and pulling files, for instance, one could push the contacts apk to the phone.
If you sign up, it will even download the latest Android SDK for you
@Sorensiim, @ericcl:
Thanks, but my problem is I deleted the app. Erased, puff, gone. I do have the tools to put it back, I don't have anything to put in there. And there is in /system/app and what is the native Contacts application binary. SO, would some kind soul grab the binary off of their healthy system and send it off to me. Please.

Rats! This is so close, maybe close enough, but the ROM dumps are for the UK model. The USA Defy has newer software (it appears. The US version is 2.1-update1) and the apps seem structured differently. In the USA ROM there is just one Contacts app, on the UK one it seems to be split in two, *Data and *Provider app. Hmm.
Hi, sorry for the language..
Id deleted some apps yesterday and i have no menu anymore... so i think i just failing during my choose. When i restart the phone i only can have access to my account on motoblur... and it doesn't work as well cause he cannot connect or something more, i don't know what happened.
I'm so disappointed. Must I install system.zip by the pc ? I'll try that when it finishs to dl but...
EDIT : Flashing the rom, i success... omg so much fear thank you for your guide

the uk version is 2.1 update 1 too. The moto apps are the same as far as I know/have read? then again I have never seen the US system/app.
There are many Dev's who have reflashed the UK .sbf (because the us one is not available) - fixed the 3g and wifi calling and say its the same
in my dump I have
contactsdata.apk
contactsprovider2_0.apk
contactsunconnected.apk
Think we need another US user to check their system/app and let us know what they have.

Ok I just pulled back the system/app dump JBoogie3 posted from the Tmobile US rom from Here
It has exactly the same 3 contact apks as the uk rom. So not too sure where you are getting there was only 1 lol.
Higgsy, you just beat me to posting that link to the US ROM dump.
Now, the discrepancy in naming stems from how different utilities display the app names. In TitaniumBackup the file I junked is called 'Contacts-2.1-update1' with domain 'com.motorola.blur.contacts', and I'm still not quite sure what is its file system name. TitaniumBackup does not display it.
I ran a diff on the file list in JBoogie3's ROM dump and my Defy's file system (in the attachment) and the most likely match for the above file would seem to be the BlurContacts.*
Which begs the question, what file manager do you guys use? What for SMB access? FTP? Is it one and the same utility, or separate.
So far SwiFTP (a server on the phone) has been solid for me, and with WinSCP (on a PC) it's been a good combination at home. What's good/can be trusted on (standalone) Android?
root explorer (application) will let you show whats actually in system/app - titanuim aint gonna show you this. Titanium IMO is only good for backing up user apps
Also you can use motodev studio and browse system/app via that
Or good old adb
Theres probably a 101 other ways too - these are my suggestions.
EDIT: an FTP client is not the way forward for sure
oh and blurcontacts.apk also resides in both the UK and US system/app, so thas the one you've deleted and need to replace.
I would either install root explorer or motodev studio (easiest way for you) and check your system/app against the dump and replace any files as required

I'd like to thank Higgsy for much advise, and JBoogie3 for posting the US ROM dumps from which I got the needed apps. Through many twists and turns my goof up has been remedied. And I really mean twists and turns, the latest being that even after the deleted apps had been copied back to their place they were still not being recognized, until after I realized that all but the restored apps in /system/app were owned by 'root', while the restored apps were owned by 'sdcard_rw', or something similar. chmod and chown'ing finally got it all working.
Thanks again.
ok guys thanks for all the insight
figured out how to do it
now MY biggest question he he
i installed gran tur 2 successfully everything works great
now anyone tried to use a game save? downloaded from the net
i downloaded this
can i make it work somehow
better yet if you save a game using the native emulator
where does it get saved to? internal or sd? and where is it ?
dam it i read that its under save and its either 0.raw or 1.raw
but everytime that i take the game save i uploaded and rename it to 0.raw or 1.raw i tried it on ff7 this time i tried to load the save it says "want to format it now" and it doesnt work
- Copy your apk first
- Install the apk
- Copy the data folder
- Run the game
- Preferences.xml will be generated
- Now you can edit it
Dont edit the preferences in the Carsh Bandicoot folder, as this will obviously edit the preferences for Crash Bandicoot
You want to edit preferences.xml for the game you wish to change preferences for. eg If you have 5 games installed, there will be 5 different preferences.xml, each stored in the corresponding directory.
Image convertor is nice, but all i do is open my picture up in paint, resize to 170 x 170 then save as a .png
Simple as hell
For trouble free just copy com. Sonystation. NxcaXXXXX_1 to sd/Android /data
I used the XDA App to post this, what did you use?
thanks guys for all the help
I've done 5 games, all work perfectly. I generated the apk and zpak data, copied the apk from my computer to sd card, and copied the data to the android/data/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX folder. Install the apk then run it and it should work fine.
