I was using andriod 2.3.3 premium features on Wildfire S A510e handset. I was really happy seeing freinds photo with syncronised link in handset of gmail account and facebook account . Now after installing cm7, i am feeling very bad to see that I am unable to link with syn contacts of facebook or google accounts. Please help.
Search for GO Contacts EX in Market, it has similar
features like People app in Sense roms.
I also searched for similar app for cm7, that's the closest one I found.

Also look up syncmypix. Gives you higher quality facebook pics and actually embeds them in your google contacts so you have them on the computer, and they look decent on call display etc...
It compliments Go Contacts Ex which I also use.

Hey guys, finally tried Cyanogen and WOW. Been up all day and night playing around with it but haven't found any way to sync Facebook contacts like the HTC Sense Facebook app. Damn, HTC really pulled that app off well.
I realize that I can try another custom ROM but this seems to be the bees knees. Any help for this Cyanogen newb would be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays!
Facebook for Android can sync all your friends to contacts or only sync existing contacts.

Hm.. I'll tinker around with it a bit more. It's not updating the contact pictures immediately. Dialer is a little lack luster compared to the Sense one but I'll be content if I can get the contact pictures to update without much fuss.

it really doesnt do a good job tho. you have to have your contacts saved as their exact name on fb - which can be annoying. Plus, sense gets hi res pics as opposed to blurry fb app pics.
i used to have an app by which you could manually sync your contacts to fb - but i dont have it any more and cant remember the name
anyone know the app?

There were a couple that I recall..... but I don't recall the names either lol. I used them on my Xperia X10.
It seems that Sense has put "Notes" in all the contacts and binds them to the respected Facebook profiles, even if you manually link it to another account. My wife has an English and a Vietnamese name for instance. And it's a nuisance when an old broken image of her from my SD card pops up. HTC Sense was fantastic for this.
Maybe someone will be willing to port it over. I have some ****ty coding skills and was looking into doing a few Android apps. Maybe I could figure something out but I doubt it.

Nevermind... turns out the Sense Dialer is heavily tied into the Sense framework. Looks like I may need to look at another customer firmware. I never knew how attached to the Social phonebooks and other Social aspects of my Android phones.
Using oxygen 2.0 and so far VERY impressed, however one small snag, I'm struggling to find how to manually link Facebook contacts with Android contacts (for picture purposes)
Since this is my first "Sense-less" ROM I'm a bit lost
Any help would be appreciated!

Download the Facebook app, go into the settings of the app and choose the syncing option which allows you to link phone contacts with contacts. It will only link some contacts that have similar names, or you can do it manually by going into you phone contact, menu, edit, press menu again and press join. This will allow you to link your contact with a Facebook contact. Hope that wasn't confusing for you.

Yes it is. SenseUI makes it a lot easier to set up. You just got to get use to Android
Took me a while to figure out how to do that. It is only because Android doesn't come with Facebook installed. Once you install it, you can sync it. That is why it is easier on SenseUI because it is already there.

I have differenced between sycronising in roms 2.3.5 and cm7.. When I have installed 2.3.5 automatically face book and my gmail accounts will get syhncronise with contact photos but in cm7 its not syncronising the contact photos.. Can anyone guide how to go head..I have used contacts syncronise from the market but no use..Please help me.
Sync the Facebook app probably.

Nah you're in the right section.
I think I know what you mean. Like in Sense it will prompt you to link similar contacts so Facebook, whatsapp, twitter, gmail etc are on the same contact.
You can do that in CM7 but you have to do it manually for each contact.
When looking at a regular Google contact in your phone book, press menu and choose 'edit contact', then once in the edit mode, press the menu button again and select 'Join'. You can then choose other accounts to join to that account.
TBH My contacts got really f****d up by using the join in CM7 and people had random other accounts attached to them after moving from stock to CM7 so I reset all contacts and only used my google accounts in my phone book and use each respective application to use different accounts. CM7 is such a better ROM though that I don't miss that functionality as I'm not hugely bothered about having peoples pictures on the contact. You can always apply pictures manually if you get bored one evening!

even though the google PM acknowledged the issue and confirmed there's someone "working on it", i suspect they won't make a move until Google Drive is launched....you know, the Google cloud stuff
ICS supports 256x256 contact image size but Gmail only knows 96x96..hence the blurry **** we're seeing on our shiny new HD screens Even the fruit-phone has the same issue if contacts are sync-ed w/Google....

I know in the past "facebook for htc sense" and normal facebook would interfer with eachother, and normally facebook for htc sense would give the high quality pics. But now the pics of facebook don't show in my contacts, only a few... And after that, how can i get a photo in messages of the person who i send a message too, it does not do that automaticly?
I also can't seem to find facebook for htc sense in accounts? I can see twitter for sense, but only one facebook? Is that true now?

If i go to contact's details, i see a link to its facebook profile, but no picture. If i edit the contact, i can only choose to take a new picture or to choose one from the gallery.
If this has been posted before, please excuse, i used the search function and didn't find anything.

Try going into settings/apps and find the facebook app, clear data on it. Then open facebook, after entering your credentials it should ask you to sync again. Wait until its finished and check again.
The fellow who replied to you is correct.......if you were still on a sense ROM. Sense has FB sync, not native android, at least as far as contacts go.
The app you found works, my son uses it on his transformer prime.
