[Q] Order of flashing - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok first my apologies for starting another thread (there is some excellent information in the forum but i'm finding bits in different orders and i'm getting confused as to which one i need to do first)
Ok i'll start off by saying i have gingerbread right now on my desire it's currently rooted with s-off and clockwork recovery installed.
I'm going to be attempting to flash this lovely looking ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322921
Now i'm going to guess at the order in which i have to flash (or partition etc) things and hopefully i won't be too far from where i need to be..
1. Use Gparted to partition SD card
2. Do nandroid backup incase things go wrong
3. Flash Upgrade (downgrade?) Hboot to CM7 r2
4. Flash ROM
i hope thats the correct order - couple of questions have i got the order right or am i barking up the wrong tree? and what happens (the steps if possible) between flashing the Hboot and the ROM can both be done from clockwork?
last question i promise the ROM asks for "Bravo Hboot: CM7 R2/DATA++/BRAVO SENSE/N1 TABLE" i know cm7 r2 is the hboot i know what DATA++ does i know bravo sense is sense and i have no idea what N1 table is. From that section does it mean i have to do something extra or it just means cm7 r2 is required?
Thanks for any and all input
Mark

thats the right order the other are just a list of Hboots you can use, you have deceided on cm7 r2 so thats fine, I would use ext4 of 1GB or 1.5GB, smaller or larger can sometimes cause problems. Good luck, have fun

Thanks muchly Andy - can the Hboot and ROM both be done from clockwork or am i better off going for something automated like android flasher ?

it can be confusing but hboot isnt flashed from recovery like a ROM. i haven't used it, but android flasher is supposed to make it very easy to flash hboots. if that doesnt work the safest way is through typing fastboot command lines.
the CM7 R2/DATA++/BRAVO SENSE/N1 TABLE bit is just different partition table sizes, you can see them on alpharev. basically the ROM must fit into the system partition (145MB in the case of cm7r2)
after you've done that, boot into recovery. make sure you do a full wipe (factory/data reset) before flashing the rom.
i know you've got your nandroid backup, but make sure you also have made a titanium backup of your apps and data to be able to restore afterwards. use 'sms backup and restore' for sms, and google for contacts.

You can flash Hboot from cwm just make sure you have the flashable zip and rename it, all instructions on http://alpharev.nl/ and agree titanium back up is good idea and full wipe is always good to do before trying new ROMs

Thanks Eddie from what i understand the Hboot comes in a pb99 img ready to boot (apart from renaming to zip) from fastboot mode as listed on the alpharev site
"3) Flash HBOOT with your phone in fastboot mode (Back+POWER) -> 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore."
Not worried about the apps as i flashed the stock gingerbread and don't have much space for any that i actually want lol i have no sms that i want to keep and google for contacts is probably the only one i'll need
Thanks again
Mark

Cross post thanks again Andy

yeh that's another way, i've just become used to typing in the commands as you've quoted from alpharev
looks like you're all set to go, good luck!

You can do it in ur phone also. download the correct PB99IMG file and remane it to PB99IMG.zip i.e. download the Data++ hboot and rename it to PB99IMG.zip and put it to ur sd card root(/SD) and after the nandroid backup go to fastboot or bootloader from the recovery power menu or by pressing power+Volume down button for 3 seconds.
In the bootloader u will see a prompt that an update is found. Install it by the volume button and u r done. reboot into recovery and flash the rom.
What is ur hboot version anyway.

You don't say of you are using an ext partition at the moment..
If you do Step 1 then step 2, you might not be able to backup if you have just wiped your partition. I would suggest:
1) Nandroid backup
2) Copy new ROM to SD card
3) Copy all SD card data to laptop
4) Partition with Gparted
5) Copy all SD card data back to SD card (in card reader).
6) Flash New hboot through fastboot
7) Full wipe of all partitions except SD card (important after new hboot)!
8) Flash ROM

Thanks for the info i have an ext4 partition made through Gparted the nandroid backup worked fine afterwards as that's the order i did it in lol only made a couple of mistakes - flashed the hboot - wouldn't boot at all (it tried rebooting the phone itself and stuck on the HTC splash) it then wouldnt go into recovery so reflashed clockwork and then it was fine wiped caches and data installed ROM from zip from sd card - one thing i will say though is put your ROM on the SD card before flashing the new hboot as that would have made things a whole lot easier - had to pull the battery then the card copy over by usb adapter and put back in to flash it..
But important thing is it worked i now have a lovely new ROM lots of space for apps all my contacts back on... And i just wanted to say thanks for taking the time out to offer some help all of you it's very much appreciated

How the F&#! does one install MIUI?!?!

Im coming from Leedroid 2.5 D, and im a bit confused...
Do i have to flash a CM7 HBOOT? How do i flash that with Leedroid still installed? Same As normal? Will it mess up leedroid by adding a new Hboot? Is there a stock Version?
I wish i knew what i was doing. All the amount of reading in the world isnt helping, cause none of it makes any sense. Im not familiar with Linux @ all
Thank you
Are you S-On or S-Off? This is fundamental in everything you do related to flashing roms. If you are S-Off then you can flash custom hboots (such as CM7) which alter the way that your phones internal memory is laid out.
Now I'll assume that you're S-On and haven't changed your phones hboot partitions as I'm sure that you would know if you had!
Basically, you can flash ANY rom that says it uses a 'Stock' Hboot. Simply look for that option and if it isn't there then you cannot use it. Generally, installing any new ROM requires you to wipe everything from recovery, that is factory reset / wipe date, wipe partition and then in the advanced menu wipe Dalvik cache. You then flash the ROM. See below before doing this however.
My advice to people new to this (having got root and CWM recovery) would be to install MyBackUp or Titanium (I use MyBackUp and even bought it!) and backup everything, apps, data, the lot. Then boot into recovery, do a Nandroid backup (this backup is literally a snapshot of your entire phone, OS, apps, contacts, literally the entire phone!) and whilst in recovery, mount the SD card and copy EVERYTHING to your PC and keep the resulting file safe.
You can then partition the card if needed (for the EXT) and format the whole thing and then copy everything back from the PC to the SD card and also copy across your desired ROM. Flash the new ROM, go to the Market and re-download MyBackUp or Titanium and then reinstall everything.
If all else fails then you can go into recovery and select backups and restore and select restore and have your phone back to how it was.
first see what HBoot is the rom compatible with, they all state it with the rom.
MIUI-XJ] July 17-1.7.17 GB 2.3.4 EN-MULT+OTA+CM+Updater|D2EXT X-PART|A2SD+|D2W
if you're on about this rom.
2011-07-08 Releases
MIUI XJ D2EXT X-PART 1.7.8 - 2.3.4 GS 3P FINAL
this one is ok for stock HBoot, i tried it myself.
Do an NANDROID Buckup first.
then wipe everything (cache+dalvick cache) and flash the rom, and wait for it to boot. thats it. not a big deal.
Also, you cannot change Hboot without a ROM reinstall. A CM7 Hboot ROM will not work on a stock Hboot for instance. Pick a Hboot that you want and only install ROM's that match that Hboot. You can also Nandroid these (make a backup in CWM recovery) and switch between them simply by clicking 'Restore' but you can only do this if your Hboot has not changed, you cannot switch Hboots and simply run a restore.
this is what i've done to get MIUI working on my phone. and i recommend using a2sd+ because its the easiest to setup. (i think)
what you need:
- S-OFF
- AmonRA (so i can partition my SD card without connecting it to the PC)
what i did:
- go into recovery, nand backup
- back into recovery, partition 1024mb ext2
- covert it all the way to ext4 (ext3 will work too)
- flashed MIUI (a2sd+ version)
- back into recovery, flashed CM7 hboot
- enjoy
Hi guys, thanks for Reply
Im actually S-Off (alpharev). Does that make a difference?

I have installed Pyramid Sense3 but on boot I stuck on AlphaRev's initial
'welcome' screen. Possibly it also reboots.
I have wiped and installed oxygen which works fine.
Any suggestions?
check the radio requirements and partition requirements
apart from that it's nothing really obvious so far?
Radio is latest and same with the one required by PyramidMod. Further to that nothing else obvious.
Just hangs in the welcome screen.

Did you do that? On the first post...
start a fresh, full wipes, check md5sums...
furthermore, most Sense 3.0 ROMs need an EXT partition on your SD-Card. Have you got that? Some even require specific ways in which the SD-Card is partitioned

I am aware of installing through ie cmd. I will try and read about it.
The funny thing is that I had it installed. Then realised that my radio was old. I installed new radio used as it is for a few days and then decided to flash again.

MD5 provides a checksum for an arbitary file. It's just a string of characters like a long PIN code.
You can use it to guarantee that the file that's been downloaded is identical to the original, i.e. not corrupted on the way. So for any file that has an associated MD5 sum. You download the file and run a MD5 utility on that file on your system and check the MD5 value output against the original one.
Bootloop - I think you need a diff hboot ....
try flashing another rom, it MAY help
should swap size be zero.
Previously (with old rom) that it worked I had out of no idea had a swap part aswell.
Maybe not.
It shouldn't matter ... most important thing is that fat32 is 1st followed by your ext and swap on the end... I have 32mb swap but I see little difference between that and 0mb swap
Did you ever try installing the hboot from the second post?
It says you have to use it?
Instructions for install:
-Flash hboot
-Reboot into recovery
-You must wipe at least /data and /sd-ext
-Flash ROM
-Reboot and Enjoy (it takes ages on first boot, it has a lot of sutff to do)
Bootloop
Hi everyone. I find this thread most appropriate to post my problem.
I also have a bootloop problem, but mine is persistant.
I had MIUI rom, and after a few weeks decided to change it.
Phone was rooted with unrevoked3, sd card partitioned with gparted, radio 5.17.05.23, hboot 0.93.0001
After that I used AlphaRev CD to s-off.
Then I've flashed PyramidMod007 and it all went downhill from there. Phone just hanged at Joker logo, and I've tried backup (didn't help), reflashing other roms from SD card, and none of them worked.
I finally managed to restore the phone with RUU, and tried the whole process from scratch.
Root, S-OFF, Nand backup, Flash; same story, but this time i can't get it to work at all.
I don't know where to start now, what to do and what the heck am I doing wrong.
After all, I am but a nOOb.
Sorry for long post, and sorry for poor english.
Edit:
Damn thing works again
I pulled that one with PB99IMG.zip to SD again; bootloader and update, and it works like nothing happened :S
But then again, what should I do now. Should I go trough whole process again or what.
Anyone has any idea why is this happening.
What HBOOT do you have and what version are you trying to install?
What EXT size do you have?
There are 2 different versions of roms for stock and cm7 hboots. They have different ext requirements.
Double check that.
Optionally (recommended), you can change Recovery from CWM to Ra Desire or RMD (most recommended) and re partition your SD card. Maybe your version of CWM Recovery is not installing this rom properly (known problem with CWM).
Thanks for reply
hboot is 0.93.0001, and I'm trying to instal stock hboot version of PyramidMod.
EXT is 768MB ext4, ROM requires 512MB.
Problem seems to show up after S-OFF procedure, like there is something incompatible with rom and recovery, it just bootloops. I'll try to install RMD.
Can someone be kind enough and check if i'm doing it right. This is the plan:
Phone is stock now.
1. Root with unrevoked
2. S-OFF with alpharev
3. Sd partitioning with gparted (to 1GB ext4)
4. nand backup
5. flash rom
I think it is best to install RDM recovery and latest radio right after S-OFF procedure, am I right?
I would suspect the partitions or errors in scripts (CWM side fault only).
With RMD you can both repartition SD card witn ext alignment and flash rom as RMD is based on Ra Desire.
Try that.
Usually bootloops have connection with wrong formatting or errors in scripting (CWM side faults only).
Are you doing full wipe before flashing your rom?? Sometimes it's a key to success.

So, you go here and download RUU that suits you most, if you don't know what software your phone came with.
Then, you run downloaded application and don't touch anything, and in temp folder look for rom.zip.
After you've found it copy file to desktop, and just click cancel on installer.
Rename rom.zip in PB99IMG.zip, put it on SD/root.
Go in bootloader menu and wait. After a minute or so, it will ask you do you want to apply/perform update. VolUp for yes, and wait. Make sure battery is good.
It worked for me, and hope it will work for you.
If there is something wrong with this method, I would like senior members to rectify me.
Petcovic,
Yes, flash RMD Recovery through fastboot and use it to partition your SD card.
Choose Ext partition(s) size and fat32 is taking the rest of card automatically.
Ext partitions are properly aligned.
RMD Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137763
How to flash?
You need to be S-OFF
put recovery.img into the same direcotory as fastboot.
Navigate in CMD to this directory and type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
RMD supports up to 3 ext partitions.
Partitioning via RMD:
Code:
Partition SD card
Partition SD Card
First ext filesystem <ext4>
First Ext size <your size>
Second ext filesystem <none>
Second Ext size <0>
Third ext filesystem <none>
Third Ext size <0>
Write Configuration
Ignore using recovery to partition ... Use gparted or something you have more control... Did anyone flash the hboot link that it tells you to before flashing? ??
After trawling xda for weeks and reading about every issue under the sun, I'd say that most of the experienced xda members recommend using GParted to partition sd cards rather than other methods. GParted has always worked flawlessly for me.
@MigMrB
That's not very kind of you.
I had never problems with partitions formatting under Ra Desire or RMD.
Gparted is also OK. Just partitioning through those Recovery is optimized for Desire.
Both ways are OK. Even using MiniTool Partition Wizard under Windows is fine as long as you are familiar with partitions requirements layout.

[Q] Partition SD

Hi!
I got some question related to Partition SD card.
Running RCMix S v2.0 CM7
Right now i have 6.42 Gb fat32 and 1Gb Ext 3.
I partition this using CWM-Alpharev recovery 2.5.1.8
When i try to use Gparted to partition to Ext 4 while am on Rcmi. The rom wont able to read the sd and it restart. After it got stuck at "why so serious" screen so i pulled battery out and get into recovery to flash the rom again. Thats when i ran you another problem i get cant mount error. "E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) E: Can't mount SDCARD:" I has tried all the usb fix thing but no luck. The only way i fixed it turn it back to 1 Gb Ext 3 partition.
My question is!
Is there a a way to partition to Ext 4? and is Ext 4 better than Ext 3. Can i stay with Ext 3 since the ROM am using a2sd doesn't work since i keep getting Low on internal storage.
Also, I cant make gold card since i cant put new sd card in phone. The phone wont boot up after it get stuck at "why so serious."
hi try to flash different recovery and format (not wipe) all partitions and flash it again... at the moment im using 4ext recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154221
or RMD recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137763
what hboot you using?
Does RcMixS boots if you are using ext3? If yes, stick with it. Ext4 is just faster than ext3, but you should not get any problems. RcMixS requires only an ext partition, not a special type.
Hboot-0.93.0001
Bravo PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
Radio-4.08.00.09
and yes RcMixs work fine with ext3 and that only ext that work with the recovery.
It is safe to flash new recovery?
It depdends. Are you S-OFF? If, then yes. If not, then no.
Bravo PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
It said it off so that mean it safe?
And if it is. How can i flash new recovery?
If you how what you do when using fastboot and check the md5 after downloading the recovery.img, I would say: Yes, it's save.
Flashing new recovery via fastboot is very easy:
1.) Download the recovery you want. In my opinion 4EXTRecovery and RMD Recovery are currently the best ones.
2.) After downloading, check the md5!
3.) Install adb on your computer. An installation can be found in my signature.
4.) Boot your phone into fastboot mode (Turn it off, press and hold back and power button a few seconds until a white screen with FASTBOOT in red highlighted letters appears).
5.) Connect your phone to your computer via USB (FASTBOOT should change to FASTBOOT USB).
6.) Open cmd in computer (I assume you are using windows) and enter
Code:
fastboot devices
The output should say
HT********** fastboot devices. The **** are placeholders for numbers. If you get this output, fastboot sees your phone.
7.) Now type
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
to delete the recovery.
8.) When finished, type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery C:\recovery.img
I assume the recovery image you want to flash is stored on partition C: and named recovery.img.
9.) You are done.
Thanks you so much. It worked. I got a another questions. It regard of updating radio. My current radio version is 4.08.00.09. It is important to update to latest version or am fine at current radio?
You only really need to update your radio if there are problems. So if you really need to update your radio, make sure your hboot has >40 mb on cache partition. Otherwise, it will fail and can cause big problems. But mostly nothings happens. So if you have a /cache partition with <40 mb, you have to flash radio via fastboot. A guide can be found here on xda.
Do you know how to check if hboot have more than 40 mb or less on cache partition?
There no problem right now. I just want to know just in case later in future something wrong, and i know what to do.
And thank you very much for helping out.
Download quick system info pro from market.
SwiftKeyed from dGB using Transparent XDA App
One last question. Sorry for so many questions.
Do you know how make goldcard? I tried to make one following instructions on web but it said i need put spare SD card in phone and boot up but the thing is the current rom am using. Which is RCmix 2.0 it need sd ext to boot up or phone will get stuck at S-OFF screen.
Creating a goldcard is very easy:
http://android.modaco.com/topic/308798-pc-application-goldcardtool/
Put the microSD card in your device and boot it.
That part i got stuck at. The thing is went i put a new sd card in phone and boot up. It wont boot into the phone just get stuck at the splash screen. Like i said before. I believe the rom am currently using (RCmix 2.0) need sd-ext to run.
Overread that, my bad. You are right, RcMixS needs ext partition to boot up. Configure your sd card appropriate.
What do you mean configure my sd card? You mean to make my spare sd fat 32 and ext 3 but dont i need copy the content from ext 3 on my other sd card to the spare one?
Configure=partition. I thought you were not be able to start the rom? So there won't be any data on sd-ext because this partition is only for apps. All other content have to be copied to FAT32 partition.
Ok ill try that then. Does it matter if there contents and ext 3 partition in sd card while make a goldcard?
Partitioning a card will break gold as it rewrites the boot of the card, where the goldcard.img is. Although I haven't tried it myself, I believe creating a gold card after partitioning should be fine.
Well that what i mean partition so phone boot up and create the phone. Can i also make one using Sd card reader to make goldcard rather than put sd card in phone and make it there?

Help rookie to root HTC Desire

Hello evryone.I got the Desire today and I would very much like to do root on my phone.I'm a total novice about all this and I'd like to ask someone for help. When I go in the boot menu (volume down+power) i have this:
-Revolutionary
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYN0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23
Aug 10 2010
HBOOT
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
Can someone suggest where to find a tutorial step by step how to do root on my phone because I'm a total beginner?
Thanks.
Well it looks like all the hard parts have been taken care of already. The rest is a piece of cake
Revolutionary was used to s-off, which probably means that you have a custom recovery install as well.
Use volume down while in the bootloader to scroll down to RECOVERY. Then use power to select it. When the recovery boots up you should have either cwm (clockworkmod) or 4ext recovery installed. Tell me which one you have so that i can give you some more guidance.
I'm afraid that nothing of what you have said I do not have. When I select a recovery nothing happens,On the next screen I see icon of phone on the middle of the screen and two circular arrow. One point down and another point up,and then red tringle with an exclamation point in the middle.I tried several times and always the same.Is this serious problem?

Then you need to flash a recovery. Either through fastboot, or through the PB99img method.
Fastboot implies installing fastboot, adb and hboot drivers on your PC, downloading the recovery.img, and then using the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img".
The PB99IMG.zip is a bit easier. Follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751258

Fastboot implies installing fastboot, adb and hboot drivers on your PC, downloading the recovery.img, and then using the command "fastboot flash recovery.img".
The PB99IMG.zip is a bit easier. Follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751258

Oops. Bah, I have been away for too long. Thanks
Thank you so much for the help.I've been busy these days so I have not had a chance to try what you suggested, but I will try tomorrow.f I understand correctly, I put PB99IMG.zip on the SD card, then go to bootloader menu(volume down+power) and run PB99IMG.zip.Then ask me if I want to update recovery, volume up for YES.When asko me if I want to reboot choose NO.Once its finished I have 4ext recovery and use volume buttons to navigate to recovery then press power button to enter recovery. And then what I have to do next?

Yep, thats pretty much correct. You go into the bootloader, wait a couple seconds and it should find the PB99IMG.zip that you placed on the root of your sdcard automatically. Then you press volume up to confirm the install, and then reboot. Go back into the bootloader and select recovery and you should now have 4ext recovery.
Forget about the fastboot command. That is just another method of installing 4ext, but its a bit more work. Since youre using the PB99IMG method you dont have to do this.
Once youre in recovery you have a few options:
Boring option- You can simply flash a root zip which will give you root access on the stock rom
Fun option- You can pick out a custom rom from the development section and flash it. Custom roms come prerooted, and have so many other advantages over stock. (Performance, a2sd for gaining more space for apps, battery life, customization, etc.)
Thanks for the help. Can you recommend a good rom that will not slow down the phone?I read some posts that the Desire is weak to be launched ICS rom, and that the version 2.3.7 is best for Desire. Is this true or not?

Well anything over android 4+ wont run ideally on the desire.
My favorite stable rom is milwild's redux. You need to do a couple things before flashing to optimize your space usage. First create a 1GB ext4 partition using this guide. Then go here and download the PB99IMG_oxygenr2 zip. This is an hboot and will change the layout of the internal partition to maximize the amount of space for apps and app data. After youve downloaded it, rename it to PB99IMG.zip, and put it on the root of your sdcard. Then you go into the bootloader and install it the same way you did for 4ext. After that you go into 4ext, go to the wipe menu and choose "format all partitions (except sdcard)". Finally go to install zip from sdcard, select the rom i recommended above and flash it.
I have to admit that Gparted method for partitioning sd card somehow easiest for me.Again I have a few questions before I start my adventure installing milwild's redux ROM.

When formatting is complete, did I need to reboot the phone or not, or just continue to install ROM?

Do I need to put milwild's redux ROM in the root of the Sd card same as 4EXT and flash it?
-When I select milwild's redux ROM is it enough to just mark it and click on it to install began, or has some other method?

Doesnt matter. I never reboot...just format and install right after.

Doesnt matter where you put it on your sdcard. Once you go to the install menu, 4ext will allow you to browse the contents of your sdcard.

Yep, thats enough. Just browse to the zip, click on it, and click once again on the check mark to confirm the installation. The reboot and enjoy.
I did half the job, now the hard part remains.I installed 4EXT recovery and partitioned SD Card but not completely.I did everything like in the tutorial, but the internal memory is not increased. Here's a picture after finishing operations.
When I check the internal memory I have only 125MB.I repeated the operation three times, and the result is always the same.I Insert the CD with Gparted in the computer, boot and go to Gparted menu, delete SD Card and create first 6.4GB like fat32 primary partition. Then select second unalocated part of the SD card and create 1.1GB like ext4 primary partition.Complete operation and when i look into my SD card size is exactly same as in the Gparted (6.4GB) but internal memory is only 125MB.No idea what to do.

The storage that it shows in settings will not show the space on your ext partition. But don't worry, its working. You can download an app such as titanium backup which will show you the amount of space on your ext partition. If you're skeptical, try installing a few apps from the play store. If you're not getting any low memory errors you are good to go.
You flashed then oxygen r2 hboot right?
Sent using xda-developers app
No, I'm not yet.I tried now to download some games from play store and got a message that I don't have enough space to do that
Do exactly the same as in video tutorial, and won't work.I'm going tomorrow to a one-week vacation. When I come back I'm gonna recorded the whole process with camerato see where I'm wrong.

Try partitioning with 4ext. Also you should really switch to oxygenr2 hboot...with stock hboot you are wasting a ton of space on the system partition.
I will ty with 4EXT and please tell me one more thing. When finishing with partition SD Card with 4ext what is next?To put PB99IMG_oxygenr2.zip on SD Card and rename it to PB99IMG.zip and install it.Right? And after that put MildWild MW-9.5.zip ROM on SD Card, select it and install it and thats all or must do something more?
Forget to mention, installing PB99IMG.zip and MildWild MW-9.5.zip doing through recovery. Is that ok?

1. Partition sd with 4ext
2. Install the PB99IMG.zip using the bootloader (you DONT flash this with 4ext)
3. Go into 4ext > Wipe > format all partitions (except sdcard)
4. Install MildWild MW-9.5.zip
I have a big problem with partitioning SD Card.I tried through recovery 4ext and still not work. When I finish all process, these 1gb appears nowhere, still got 128MB internal memory. No matter what I do, or with gparted or 4ext always have 128mb of internal memory. Can I install MildWild MW-9.5.zip without expanding the internal memory? If not, can you explain to me how to do root to my phone?

You still don't understand what has been explained before
Your internal memory will not read 'internal + sd-ext' because that's just the way the script works.
As long as the sd-card has been correctly partitioned, the A2SD script should work automatically. (you probably didn't need to use 4EXT if you follow the gparted guide exactly, but doesn't matter now)
Keep apps on internal i.e. don't 'Move to SD', and it will trick the apps apks and dalvik cache to sd-ext. You internal memory (/data) will fill up with app data (e.g. just the saved games). Another way to check is to install another app like 'diskusage', it will allow you to browse your partitions.
What is limiting you is that you are still on stock hboot. You should change to OxygenR2 hboot as advised. Currently on stock hboot your /system size is 250MB, but you're using only around ~95MB, wasting over 150MB.
If you switch to OxygenR2 hboot, the system size is 100MB, you'll waste only 5MB, and the rest gets converted to extra internal memory...total 332MB instead of 147MB...i.e. more space for apps
You should now
-nandroid backup
-flash oxygenR2 hboot, either by PB99IMG.zip method as advised, or using fastboot (search for guides)
-reboot back into recovery, full wipe and nandroid restore.
If not, can you explain to me how to do root to my phone?

You don't need to root your phone any more. Any custom ROM will already be rooted.

HTC desire Clockworkmod corrupted/deleted

Hi people, I have a HTC Desire that I has Clockworkmod installed. I gave it to my girl and she deleted Clockworkmod I think. The phone gets the splash screen but bootlooped, I did the power vol down and got into the bootloader, go to recovery, phone loads into cwm everything i do in cwm hangs the phone, I tried flashing recovery files from fastflash and android flasher but nothing works.
Its like the cwm is corrupted and wont let me do anything how do I get into the phones recovery not Clockworkmod recovery.
Cheers Glenn
sorry i;m new at this
- You can't really accidentally delete a recovery. If you can get into clockworkmod recovery it, it is not deleted
- You can only flash a different recovery if you are s-off, are you s-off?
- Does performing any action within cwm cause it to hang immediately? Can you try to full wipe (wipe data/factory reset), and then flash a ROM.zip file such as cyanogenmod? Does it boot?
- If you can't get it to boot, then you will likely have to flash an RUU to get it booting again. Use the 2.3.3 GB RUU, details how to flash are in the troubleshooting guide stickied to the top of Q&A.
- Once you get it booting and if you still want to install a custom ROM, use revolutionary to s-off, then flash 4EXT recovery instead, use that recovery to (re)partition your sdcard and install the ROM.

Yes I'm S-off, the phone wont start(boot all the way to working) I get into the (power vol down) menu, I go into recover, anything I do in there hangs the phone all I get is the cwm hat icon, I have to tske the battery out and put it back in. the only thing I think is, I have change micro SD cards the one that used to be in it is in my new phone and have deleted all the old files on it.
WHENEVER I do anything CWM it hangs can I recover without CWM it seems it controlls everything i do....
i had Rom manager installed too thet could be deleted, if rom manager is delete will that stuff up the phone, i think the partition is delete tooo... can i re partition it from windows??

- I've never seen CWM hang like this. Within CWM, are you using the power button to select the options? You need to push the trackball to select (the middle button on the front of the phone)
- If you were using a custom ROM which used the sdcard in some way like a partition, you can't simply switch sd cards without backing up and transferring the necessary files to the new sdcard
You are s-off, so that's good. Assuming you still want a custom ROM:
- Flash 4EXT recovery using fastboot
- Backup your sd card, and use 4EXT recovery to completely reformat and partition your sd card (maximum 2GB ext4 partition)
- Copy backup back to sdcard, and ROM.zip of your choice
- (Optional but recommended) For maximum app space, flash optimal hboot for your ROM using fastboot, read the ROM's install instructions for information.
- 'Wipe all partitions except sdcard' option within 4EXT recovery (this is a 'full wipe')
- Install ROM.
EDIT: once you get it booting again, DO NOT use ROM manager in any way on this phone. You don't need it, has caused problems on this phone, could have been the reason for your issues in the first place.

A factory ROM is not a custom ROM. If you want a full factory / stock ROM, you will need to flash an RUU (use the 2.3.3. GB WWE RUU)
If you intend to still use the phone, and install a few apps on it without running out of space, then you still need a custom ROM. With CM7, for maximum app space you need:
- cm7r2 hboot (flash with fastboot)
- partitioned sd card (using 4EXT recovery or gparted only, NOT CWM or minitool partition wizard)
- an app such as S2E or Darktremor A2SD to move apps and dalvik to the partition, or flash a compatible app2sd script
Or pick a ROM of your choice. The correct hboot, partition and A2SD method still apply to virtually all custom ROMs
and what about Rom Manager and CWM can I uninstalll them and put 4EXT on it instead

Like I said, you don't need ROM manager. CWM recovery is ok as long as you only use it to backup, full wipe and install ROMs. don't use it to partition the sd card.
4EXT is better as it can partition and backup/wipe/install ROMs all in one. Flash it using fastboot, or install it using the 4EXT app in the thread.
