Requirements: Knowledge with flashing images in fastboot.
Instructions: 1. Boot into bootloader mode.
2. Using command prompt, fastboot flash recovery touch-tuna.img
Taken from the official Clockwork Recovery Google+ page. I am not the developer, all credits go to Clockwork Mod & Koush. I'm simply posting this as an awareness thread.

Most likely a stupid question, but how will future updates to this beta be handled? Is there an updater within the recovery itself?

No there is not a updater within the recovery itself. The updated versions of the beta will be updated through following him on Twitter / Google+.
I'll do my best to update the OP when these updates are available though
But since this is a official Clockwork Recovery update than the previous touch-enabled version (it was unofficial). I'm sure once it hits stable, it will be available in ROM Manager (Koush's app for updating ROMs / recoveries).
flashed to my g-nexus all looking good, seems to work well now to get something to flash!
Thanks for posting. It works great

just flash a new kernel, or just flash the same kernel over lol
just put it on my phone, works awesome =D
put it into the same DIR as fastboot, boot your phone into the bootloader, and then type
fastboot flash recovery nameoffile.img
This is awesome! Man using the volume buttons was annoying!
So just flashed this. A few questions. How exactly is this supposed to work? Scrolling up and down seems independent of location, but when I try and tap to select, nothing happens and I end up selecting the wrong menu. Where am I trying to tap to advance in a menu @[email protected] I never thought going through menus could be so confusing. I must be in awe of the touch of the recovery or something, hopefully someone can explain it a little clearer so I understand @[email protected] I feel retarded.

Oh I know, I thought it was just me having these errors though. You too are having some problems in mis-selecting things and the such?
I didn't install it because looking at the video it looked a nit touchy, I'm one of those people that try and wait it out a bit and see peoples reactions to it
this ain't bad, but i still prefer the other CWM modded by some other guy. the on-screen buttons, gestures, Roboto font, and battery % are kind of hard to step away from. but cant wait for updates to the official CWM
Is there a way to flash this without using another computer to flash it via fastboot?

Ditto.
If only he'd add a tap gesture for select, it would be perfect. I'm just fine with the way it is, though.
Koush -- Android God that he is -- has some work to do before the "official" CWM can compete.

The *unofficial* touch CWM, its been out for a while. even though it is still in beta (for couple weeks now), i think its perfect. If Koush adds gestures to this I will switch right away, cuz that is the best part.

It's on ROM Manager, I believe you have to pay $1.99 to flash it. That's the only alternative.

Just put it in Odin/flash in CWM depending on which you picked. If you Odin, I think you have to put the recovery.bin in the Phone slot, or you can just put the tar in either slot.

You cant let it boot. Booting reinstalls the android recovery. Maybe, have battery out, then try booting with the 5 finger combo, or uncheck reboot in odin.

The CWM files are in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357655
.md5 files are not the archive, but the signature to verify your download.
Here are instructions to properly root your phone by flashing clockwork mod via download mode:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sa...te_Guide#Installing_the_ClockworkMod_Recovery
Then you will want to boot into recovery and install whatever ROM you want from the SD Card using the recovery mode.

Odin tars are .tar.md5 or .tar. its not a signature check, but if flashing that doesn't work, delete .md5.

For some reason both the new 6.x.x.x touch recovery and regular recovery don't work right? Sometimes I have to restart in recovery like 3 times before one of the options actually works or doesn't hang...Anyone else get this issue? I did flash them via ROM Manager.
Yes. Its cause cwm don't have some scripts than you need for clean up your phone when you flash some rom.

Not true. They both function exactly the same. Problem is TW roms prefer TWRP and CWM 5.0.2.7 on this phone. Stop spreading bad word about CWM when the true issue is user error. Just because you had issues with it doesn't mean trwp is better. Clockwork mod has been around since android development started. Show respect where respect is due, son.

Yeah, you see, it's must be USER ERROR, never had a problem with anything Cyanogen ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :good:
Hi guys, good morning.
I have a rooted HTC One X which was running good.
Today I installed an app for changing the font style. Then I arrived in a japanese/chinese characters, which I couldn't go back to the backup set by the own app.
I searched for the original font and I found this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770479
I downloaded it and flashed it but now the phone won't load.
It sucks at the second screen of the booting process, with HTC One TM and beatsaudio logo underneath.
Then I went trying for a factory reset but still not working.
How should I proceed?
Thanks.

Yes, unfortunately it's true. I didn't think about it before coz I hadn't needed/wanted to my Rom.
But I really would like to upgrade to JB, but I really don't know how to upgrade the HBOOT. I've seen quite a few of posts about it but still don't know exactly the steps.
The cause of this topic and my problem was a few apps for changing the font style. So, I'd like to show it to future users to be extremely careful with these apps: "Fontomizer SP(Font for Galaxy)" and "Font Installer ★ Root ★".
Do:
fastboot oem readcid
And
fastboot getvar version-main
And post the results.
If you upgrade hboot, non Sense (AOSP) based JB ROMs will have some limitations like no GPS, but JB Sense ROMs will be able to work.
Also, after JB hboot, USB Mass Storage turns into MTP, which is a fair bit less convenient.
I have successfully rooted my new tablet, but I seem to be having a problem finding what I need for CWM recovery.
I found info on TWRP which I did try to use, but after it appeared to do a successful backup to the ext card, the backup could not be found. No idea where it went to, but I returned recovery back to stock & would like to go with CWM since I am familiar with it & should be able to locate where my backups are stored.
Is CWM even available for this tablet yet or am I just missing the post?
If someone could please help me out & point me what I need I would forever be in your debt, well maybe not forever.
Thank you
Mark
Download Flashify from the play store. Open the app, on the flash tab select recovery, Download CWM, and choose the version you want. Make sure to select the image and not the zip. Let it download and then let it install. No PC necessary and easy as pie. The app also allows you to back up your original recovery as well.

Flashing & Backup worked fine, but how the heck do I get back into recovery?
I held the power button/vol down & it took me to a screen warning me about flashing roms, Think it was an Odin screen.
Putting CWM on this Galaxy isn't as easy as it was putting it on my Nook HD it appears.
Is there possibly another button combo to get into recovery?
Sorry for all the questions
Turn it on and hold the volume up button for recovery; hold the volume down for odin mode.
Simple enough. Now all I have to do is remember what to do.
Thank you very much for your help.

I installed the OTA update and then Odin TWRP and then flashed super SU. Root is working just fine for me and still sticking after reboots.
You installed the latest security update OTA (190mb) and then Odin TWRP? It didn't seem to affect my installation of TWRP or at least I was able to get into recovery as before. Install SuperSU as before with no errors. Reboot and no root or SuperSU. May have to do a complete reinstall tonight. Glad to know root can still work after this little update.
Solved: installing the latest SuperSU 2.71 worked without a hitch, root restored
Anything new in this ota?

Yes, I was on stock non-rooted with stock recovery prior to the latest OTA, then I decided to root and add TWRP

Does anyone have issues with data? I'll be browsing the internet or something, then randomly my data stops, I see the 3g or lte symbol go away then come back. It's extremely annoying.b

It's just Sprint. It's been mainly 3g service here in Ohio for a couple days now. Check Down Detector if your area is affected.

Please stop posting in every thread available with the same problem. If you get your files from koops thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
There is no reason it won't work, other than user error. Follow directions.

Hey, this is the forum is all about.
I did want to ask only in koops thread, but well, not much answer there. So i ask only once again here, definitely not every thread available.
Moreover, everyone's phone could have its own issues, which need troubleshoots. Not all are the same.
I have installed twrp so many times for so many phones, so that i know that might be something else.
Im using twrp 3.0.2-0 in koops thread on pd2 well, but it didnt work on pd3. So what might be wrong here?

I've had this issue everywhere tho. It does seem to be related to switching from 3G to LTE. But I can't say for certain that each and every time it dropped, that when it came back it was a different service.

I was troubled about it myself, but today seems to be alright thus far lol

So you had this issue too? Are you on the latest update PD3?
Has anyone posted the update.zip?

You've posted in three different threads with the same issue. You arn't following directions, or it would work. It has nothing to do with the firmware upgrade. Follow directions.

Ok, so may i ask you why i would successfully install twrp on PD2 if i didnt follow the steps? Or i was just lucky 1000 times before?
Dont act like a mod if you arent, please.
And if my question annoys you, use your ignore function instead.
This is my last post about this issue.
I'm on the Renegade ROM. If I wanted to install this update, I'd have to ODIN all the way back to stock, correct?

I'm perfectly fine with not blocking you. A thousand flashes is a lot. You shouldn't be having this problem.

Thank you. I may take the upgrade. This issue is driving me nuts.

If it fixes the data drop issue, then yes lol.

I consider security improvements always worth upgrading for.
I believe they patched the vulnerability from Ad Blockers in this update, among other things. And don't be turned away by the couple people having issues re-rooting. I assure you, everything works fine.

What vulnerability was that?
