When i flash a new kernel to my arc, it boots, the new logo appears, but i am unable to enter recovery. When i power on the phone again, the kernel seems to have disappeared as the stock SE logo will appear and it seems like no changes have been made. My bootloader is unlocked and im no .42 baseband
Do you type fastboot boot boot boot.img?
Got to enter fastboot flash boot boot.img

Hi... I'm not totally a noob, but I don't know what can I do now to solve this problem. I have an Arc S rooted and with unlocked bootloader. But when I try to install ANY kernel by fastboot, the phone starts with the new kernel's logo but it turns off. When I restart the phone, the stock kernel logo appears. Nothing changes. I flashed an general firmware already... unlocked bootload, rooted... Drivers installed... What else can I possibly do? Thanks.
Type fastboot flash boot boot.img

IT WORKED!
Thank you man!
But... Why did i have to type "flash" instead of just "fastboot boot boot.img?"
Fastboot has commands which you need to use.

"fastboot boot" will make a one time boot with the image you specify, while "fastboot flash boot" will flash the specified image into the boot are of the device. The kernel images are not made to be hotbooted like the recovery image. That's why you can't use "fastboot boot" with a kernel image. That only works with CWM images.

I have a problem after installing the Doomkernel v20. When i tried to change the kernel into Achotjan kernel, the kernel always back into Doomkernel v20. But the truth is, i have uninstalled the doomkernel
use this guide and download the fastbook pack from his link.
I've tried flashing a recovery.img through fastboot after successfully rooting my phone, but all I can get is a bootscreen hang, note: I can turn on my phone fine, but not the recovery portion of it.
Tried: CWM Recovery through APP and through Terminal.
Info: HTC One V Virgin Mobile, no SIM so PrimoC.
Anything I can do to try to solve this? Would love to flash AOKP or PACman.
Try the TWRP recovery. Works great on mine, and I love the touch screen controls Make sure you place the twrprecovery.img file in your fastboot folder, then flash it in fastboot.

you may be primo u or you flashed a recovery for primo u because all recoveries are working
what command are u writing?

I'll try it in a minute, I'll post back with results.

I'm 100% sure I'm PrimoC. PrimoC = no SIM card, yes? That's what I have.

./fastboot flash boot boot.img I think, I don't really remember lol, I do not have my workstation open.
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.IMG
The sticky in development section works really good to for it.

I've done that multiple times without avail. It flashes fine it just does not boot into the recovery, all it does it show the development warning screen.
Then your getting the wrong recovery img ....thats the only possible thing

I'm flashing the correct image, I'm 100% sure of it. SetCPU says my phone is PrimoC, so I download a PrimoC Recovery, flash it by typing in:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Successful, reboot into bootloader again and try loading recovery, nothing but a long boot screen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1635520
flash this
I mean your getting the wrong file
After flashing a new ROM my phone will only boot properly using "c:\fastboot fastboot boot boot.img" on the PC .... If I boot holding the power button the HTC screen saying "This build is not for ...." loops.
Does anyone has a solution to this?
Did you flash the right kernel? Your command seems wrong.. It's fastboot flash boot boot.img, not fastboot boot boot.img

Can I change my boot screen without rooting my device?
NO.

You can't flash the zip for recovery but I think that if you have the logo.bin, can flash for fastboot.
Por medio de Tapatalk en el bicharraco XT1032
Yes. Use fastboot. Don't remember exact command to flash boot logo or animation but if you do a google or XDA search you can find them. Or, download whatever boot logo and/or boot animation you want. Use fastboot to boot a custom recovery temporarily (fastboot boot recovery.img), flash the boot logo and/or boot animation, reboot, profit
