I see folks talking about how many mA their phone is pulling at a given time. What app do you use to see that?
Battery monitor widget

I don't think Samsung phones allow battery current to be monitored
Currentwidget
Just my spare change.
battery monitor widget will do you just fine.

Does anyone know a widget like current widget that works on the gs2?

I was wondering the same...
This would be a more objective way to see if there's really a big difference in how fast the battery goes down.

I think "battery monitor widget" free might give you an estimate of the current drawn...not 100% I remember current widget doesnt support samsung devices so when I had the galaxy tab battery monitor widget showed an estimate (not 100% accurate obviously)....
Yo guys, so i know theres a lot of widget for battery life stats, how much time you have left, temp., battery usage, etc. but supposedly a lot of them are big battery life drainers
any specific one you peeps would recommend?
I like Battery Graph Widget:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.minigato.batterygraphwidget&feature=search_result
Besides showing your current battery, it also graphs your battery level so you can quickly see if the Android OS battery drain bug is affecting you and you need to reboot. Plus it just looks fly.
Battery Monitor Widget, the best I've used.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vertiform.android.app.batteryspy
Love this one. Also tels you your % per hr of drain. So when your phones been sleeping for a while then you turn the screen on it will tell you how much a hr you loose in sleep mode. Mines 2.3%hr
I like this one

Battery e.t.a app.let's you know everything and shows time left on battery either in hours or exact time when battery will be discharged.it's an app + widget.i use it
I like circle battery widget myself

Looking for an app that was like "current widget" which can show me current draw in miliamps so I can play with settings. Unfortunately current widget does not work on the galaxy nexus.

There is a great thread going on in the General section about battery tech: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423054
How it relates to your question: The battery chip is not able to display current mA drain or charge. You can use "Battery Monitor Widget" to estimate battery drain.

Good deal, thanks for the find.
Can anyone inform me on the PROPER way to break in a brand new battery (have a ext and standard batt on the way) I think the one that came with my phone is a dud only almost three hours with moderate use on power saver settings! Can anyone tell me the proper way to break in new battery and even some tips to maintain battery health and longevity... thanks in advance.

Once a month, completely drain the battery to the point where the phone shuts off. This will calibrate the battery so your battery meter will become more accurate. I have read the best way to maintain a Poly-lithium battery is to trickle charge, meaning don't always drain it completely just do top ups with the charger. That should keep the batteries life lasting longer.

Thanks a million ....any tips on first time charge ? .I've heard you should charge it about 7 hours evn if the meter says the charge is complete is this true?

I just got a battery I ordered two week ago from China that's labeled as 2000 mah. So far it seems to be lasting longer than my stock battery so I would like to see if there's an app I can download that would show the battery's capacity. I know some battery's from China be rip offs but I gave this one a shot and it probably payed off
Edit: Phone been running on battery for 5hrs with two hours on screen time and all my radios on (4g included). Still got 45% to burn.

To measure the battery, I recommend to use 'non battery saver' app.
I use 'Battery monitor widget' and it works great for me.
There are many reports that some battery saver apps are causing more battery drains.

I use battery monitor widget too! However I had to set the capacity of the stock battery n the generic one myself. Is there any app that can just read the capacity on its own without me programming it?

It doesn't look like our phones support the reporting of battery capacity. You would have to buy a meter.

If you are using 'battery monitor widget' too, then click the calibrate and it will ask you couple of things. Before putting any information there, visit the online help pages first and be sure that you are putting the right information.
By doing this, you may get more accurate battery information.
(Sorry, actually I didn't try this by myself before)

I did all that already. I just wanted to test an app that reads the mah on its own soon as you install it. Guess my only choice would be to buy a meter like the other person posted. Anyways I'm getting great battery life so I'm just going to take it and not question it lol. Thanks for the advice tho!
