My friend buys recently a defy in France with orange label and it seems coded because he cannot use another sim (he is in africa). I want to know if flash with rsd lite with a naked retail fr can resolve his problem.

I think if you flash cm7 it is what yo can call softunlocked. There was something about mound fake partitions in bootmenu. Search google for "softunlock".

I would definitely root the phone, install 2ndinit, make a nandroid backup of his stock rom and then install CM7.
That way, he will have his answer, a way to go back to stock state for warranty purpose AND the best rom to have on his phone.

Defy is a good phone. I have a naked french defy for a year and recommended defy+ to him but unfortunately he buys a coded defy (with android eclair). He buys it last week.
According cm7, I tried it but it uses more data and battery than my froyo. After cm7, can he use my froyo backup?

I just read today that custom recovery will not work (can't read from sd card) on Eclair
So your friend will have to use rsd to flash a froyo sbf before going any further.

I would strongly have a super good kernel and have cm10, be in JB and all that .. The trouble is that I do not dare to unlock my bootloader, afraid of having problems with my Arc S immediately after since it is still under warranty. You advise me to do what? The Arc S t he hardware problems?

Just unlock it, yoy can always relock it if you need to send it for repair. Or you can use s1tools to unlock it.

If you take care of your phone and always know what you put in it then by all means go ahead. You've nothing to lose. And yes, you can always relock it if you want to send it in.

I take care of my phone .. My Arc S does not even have a single claw! I bought an express hull for not damaged. But as said above, once unlocked, I lose the warranty ..

you can lock it again -> warranty back if you ever need it
Yes you lose warranty if you unlock BL but you can always lock it, most of the time they will still honour your warranty (unless they check your DRM keys but there are methods that preserve them) . So just go ahead and unlock BL, but if you're still paranoid you can always do it once your warranty expires.
Custom kernels make your phone new.

My problem is just due to the loss of the warranty .. But if you know how to ensure the re-re-locking the bootloader, there is no problem but I would like confirmation.

It can be done. I have relocked my bootloader before so that I can restore my phone using SEUS.
Sorry that I can't speak French, Japanese is my other language.

If you want to use CM10, you DEFINITELY need to unlock bootloader because CM10 uses custom kernel.

Je pense que si tu veux vraiment profiter de JellyBean, tu ne tiendras pas longtemps avec un BL verrouillé !
Perso, je l'ai déverrouillé officiellement alors que je suis encore sous garantie, et je n'ai jamais eu de problemes.
Après, c'est personnel, mais il y a pas mal de rom custom très sympa pour bootloader verrouillés

I just received my LG Optimus G Pro from Singapore...
All is working but not 4G LTE...my phone is not recognize as complient to my network (France) even if it work on 2600MHz Frequency...
So i'd like to put an E986 .kzd file to be able to turn on my provider's 4G...
I have tried the R&d method, but I got "extract error" every time....even by re downloading .kdz...
I have tried by modifying "host" file too....
So, my question :
Is there a way to put in an E986 stock rom ?....or something else working in France on 2600MHz network

I think there is no solution for you. You have to buy the europe version.
There are 2 solutions for no network: 1. You flash back with kdz of f240l or 2. You install cwm on it and flash the baseband

Do you know where can I find an old .kdz for F240L phone ? Or modem.img for E986 LG phone ?

I have tried your link....and my IMEI disappeared....my phone is not more recognize even by R&D tools....

In my personnal Time i try to sent with Textra SMS app so many SMS (about 280). Android say "Many message to send, are you sur?" I say yes, but i'm very annoying with this problem.
I'm trying to install SMS limit Tool but it is'nt anymore compatible with android 5.0. Some software via google play store have the same pb.
Have you any answer to resolve this ?

I have no idea where that series (6EP), LG did not know where it is, because they do not sell it sells amazon.
What version of Android are you currently on? and is it stock 'factory' rom?
Those codes are usually specific to country/ carrier/ and even sometimes distributor.
Updates are usually controlled by these factors.
For example, i am in Netherlands with Vodafone, i may only recieve an update when its available for my region and also my operator,
You can ofcourse download a .kdz from somewhere here on Xda, for the update version you want and install it via LG Software (much faster than waiting)
I came with the V20h-eur-XX, now I installed via KDZ V30b stock.
And if it's faster, but I fly behind the ear, knowing where it is and is not updated.

Couldn't understand what you were trying to say. I'm portuguese, so I understand spanish.
Having you flashed marshmallow kdz, do you have the stock recovery? And with that kdz installed, will you get OTA updates? If you need it, I will write in Portuguese because my spanish writing is not as good as my speech.
