I found some stock apps a little too different to ICS's stock Holo theme so I decided to fix that.
These will only work on deodexed ROMs.

UPDATE
I've seen some users having problems getting some of my apps to work.
If the app does/doesn't work for you could you post a comment telling me, please list the app you tried to install and the ROM you are running.
I copied this to system/app with root explorer and rebooted. But then had no mms app in app draw.
Edit: I am using nova launcher in case that makes a difference?
Thanks! This looks really nice. Also good for battery!
I can still see the app in my app drawer btw (Apex launcher)
I haven't tested it with Nova Launcher yet.
Did you set the permissions to rw-r--r--?

I'm stock everything unrooted on Verizon - is that the issue?

To anyone who is stock, this will not work on stock rom, as you have to be deodexed in order to use themed system apps.

Sorry I'm not familiar with the term 'deodexed.'

No.. You need custom rom also .. The one whcih has all deodexed..
Deodexed means :
Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space. Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk. This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything.

edit : I rooted phone, because it is easy to unroot it .. but im keeping stock rom still ... i want ota upd and rest.. And to be honest, im bit tired with flashing.. (one of the reasons i bought GN)

No foregoing warranty... If needed just unroot and you'll have your "warranty" back! =] And you need a deodexed rom... so you need to install a custom rom... such as GummyNex, AOKP, or CM9 builds, etc.
Awesome

Too bad there is not a choice for those less adventurous to just change the color scheme.

Weird, I am using docs xxjpo rom and my gallery is working perfectly
Get a rom. Open it and:
In that rom, go to system/app and find gallery3d and put it on your sd card. Then open root explorer and copy and replace the one you got from the rom with the themed one. The theme one is in system/app folder as well

Have you checked if the original MMS.apk of your ROM doesn't come with an option to change the key within the app? Open the Messaging-app hit menu then Settings and look for it at the bottom. Also, XperianZe Rom is a samsung-based ROM not an AOSP-based one, so I imagine it's quite possible that the AOSP-Mms.apk doesn't work in it's original form on that ROM because of framework-differences...
If the option is not there, you'd have to disassemble the Mms.apk of your ROM and mod the xml-code more or less according to my apk.
The desired option would probably be in res/layout/compose_message_activity.xml
Thank You But...

thx!
This is a Circle Battery Mod with 1% increments and a working battery charging animation. It has the segmented circle (as opposed to the solid, unbroken circle). It is based on the de-odexed stock 4.1.2
~~!! NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 4.2 !!~~
NOTES:
- De-odexed only (Though I've heard it works to over-write your SystemUI even if you are odexed, as always, perform changes at your own risk. Backup recommended.)
- Tested with the Factory/Stock De-odexed ROM by teshxx (found here)
- For STOCK based ROMs only. WILL NOT work with CM or other modified ROMs.
- Use on other ROMs at your own risk
- Mine is for the GSM model. If you would like one for the CDMA/LTE model, please go here. This one was for the Verizon model, and would not work on mine, but inspired me to make one for the GSM.
The attached zip should be flashable in CWM or TWRP, but I cannot guarantee anything. As always make a backup first.
EDIT: I've re-created and re-uploaded the .zip, and had a user report that the flash worked. Flash away!
If the flash STILL fails, please unzip it, and pull the .apk out and manually copy it into /system/app and reboot. Changing the permissions on it after copying would probably be recommended (should be rw-r-r).

Unfortunately I'm not quite that skilled, and am not sure where to pull that from. I'm quite new to modding and this was my first ever mod that actually worked.
But just to be clear, you are referring to the rotation lock like on the Nexus 7's notification bar right?
I flashed this twice and it didn't change anything. Do I have to enable it or something?

Shouldn't have to. It should overwrite your existing SystemUI and take effect immediately after flashing. If it's not flashing properly, try pulling the apk out of the .zip file and replacing your SystemUI manually (using something like Root Explorer or any other app that lets you see the root files of your device).

Hmm, OK. I'll give it a shot. The battery stuff is contained in the SystemUI.apk, but the rotation toggle is part of the framework. I'll see what I can do, but no guarantees.
EDIT: I've tried, but it's a little bit beyond my current knowledge. Modifying the SystemUI was child's play in comparison to trying to work with stuff in the framework. It may be a simple tweak once you get there, but getting there for me is the difficult bit. I can't seem to get the .jar extracted properly to find the .smali file required as detailed in the thread you linked. My apologies, I don't think I'll be able to get that one for you.
thanks. I didn't try to flash it over CWM, but copied SystemUI.apk to system/app. It works well.
Hi, I took the risk and pushed the SystemUI.apk to system/app on my stock OTA 4.1.2 and it worked! Stock ROMs that came directly from Google are odexed by default right? It seems to work fine here without problems.
Thanks for the share.. works great.

Interesting. Keeping the odex when it's unneeded shouldn't be a problem (I don't think so anyway), but I believe the problem comes in if you delete it when you do need it. So you should be OK.

I couldn't find any other that worked for the GSM that was based in 4.1.2. All of the ones that I found were either based in 4.1.1 or were for Verizon. So for me, yes it is indeed the first one that worked. And I learned something new in the process of making it work. Thank you, have a nice day!

It won't work on stock .50 unless you have deodexed the frameworks.
@ares: Look in your framework folder and see if you have any .odex files. If so, this wont work for you.
All you need for it is the android.policy.jar. But beware with the XTX and KA roms, cause there are 2 versions of the android.policy.jar; 1 for small app and 1 for no small apps.

Unfortunately, I haven't deodexed a ROM before, but here is a post of someone deodexing the stock files.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1888222
Good luck.
P.S. Why not try one of the ROMs that are deodexed and have this included, as well as many other great features?

Will make a Backup and try this on My Xperia U.......
Works lovely, gave me the toggles, battery % and reboot option. Perfect
Edit: Small bug is that when the phone boots it should say 'checking internal storage for errors' or something similar, instead it says 'USB storage removed'

Awesome !! But can you add one more option is "Take Screen Shoot" .
Thank you for your work ! Very useful ! :good:
There have been a few people asking for a 4.3 version of Dandroid for the d2spr. Until one officially comes out, here are the SystemUI, SPlanner, SecSettings, SecPhone, SecMms, SecLauncher2, SecContacts, and SecCalculator apks along with bootanimation in a flash-able zip. This is still a WIP so there are a few pngs that aren't quite right.
This does not include any mods! The center, blue clock and the CM battery icon you see in the screen shots are XPosed moduels.
All of the apks are from CNexus' DeOdexed Stock ROM and the pngs for the theme have come from Dandroid by Danvdh with a few changes here and there by me. Thanks goes out to them for all their hard work and support for the XDA community. Also a big thank you goes out to Rompnit for letting me use his 4x5 launcher and transparent weather widget! Be sure to go thank him for all of his work on MOAR!
Since these are all based on stock, I have no way of knowing for sure if they are compatible with a ROM that has been moded so please make a nandroid before flashing.
This is for TouchWiz 4.3 only!
Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk!
*It is important to note that there may be additional issues I don't know about and as I am a truck driver, not a programmer I may or may not be able to fix things.
Everyone is encouraged to do what ever you like with anything I post.
Instructions:
You need to already be on a TW 4.3 ROM

Boot into recovery (I use CWM)
Make a nandroid

It probably will but there is a full Dandroid 4.3 already available for d2att isn't there?
Here are a few more screen shots.

No not as far as I see and I check daily on new roms.. dandroid is still on 4.1.2
Oh. Well give this a try and let us know how it goes.
In fact I'd appreciate it if everyone who flashes would let us know your results.

I'll take a look at see what I can do. Tonight would have been my night to work on it but I was at a Christmas play practice and didn't get to.
I use 8sms from the play store myself. It's hard to beat when it comes to AOSP mms.

Here you go.
Edit: The bootanimation is different from how I've seen it in the past. Samsung uses .qmg files instead of .zips. This one is currently a bit choppy but once the new kernels are up to 100% we'll have more freedom to be creative.
Edit2: By the way, this doesn't have any effect on the down animation. If you want to get rid of that you can go into System/media/video/shutdown and either delete the 2 files in there or rename them by adding ".bak" on the end after the ".qmg".

Very nice. Great job all around. 4.3 stock looks atrocious... This looks so much better.

Good job porting the theme bud, Wish I could have done this but I no longer own the S3
@chad, is it possible you can release just the images to me? not the APKs?

It's in system/media called bootsamsung.qmg. To work with .qmg files you need a porgram called "Samsung Theme Designer". I don't have any experience with that yet. Just DLed it the other day but haven't been able to play with it.
