I just wanted to check if anyone else is having issues with the newest SetCPU update? I'm getting superuser permission notifications like every 5 seconds and they've just been filling up the su log.
I've never had this problem before, no other app is doing it, and I've tried wiping the data for superuser and SetCPU. I looked at previous threads about this issue, but everyone suggests turning off superuser notifications. That's not the answer, as that's just ignoring the underlying problem. Any thoughts?

I'm having the same issue. Not sure what the problem is.
I had the same issue after the update, I disabled my profiles I set and it went away. I guess that's causing the superuser issue.

Update just went through. No issues here
I had the same issue. I was on FC05 when I initially updated to the newest. Had to uninstall.
Setcpu got updated on market and new update fixes the su problem...

I updated soon as the update came up and was getting annoyed by the permission pop ups. I just contacted the developer and told em. He told me to turn off notifications till he comes up with a fix. Which he did pretty quickly! Anyways what I'm trying to say is b4 coming to xda about it why not contact the developer directly to notify them

Ok Im a newbie to the rooted epic 4g touch, now I one clicked my epic 4g touch with sfhubs ff18 one click. Now I heard that they are rereleasing the update to fix ALOT of issues. My question is will I get the notification for the update on my rooted phone and will it put my phone back to unrooted if I do? Also if it doesnt send me the notification will someone be posting another one click no data odin link for the new update so I can get the fix? Sorry but not sure how updates work on rooted phones.

There is no new update release. They are resuming the previous release, with the only change being the updater script now automatically wipes data from the Swype keyboard to fix that particular bug.

So then they arent fixing the battery issue?
The battery issue has been resolved for several people I know that have removed all of their user installed apps and reinstalled one by one till they find the app that isn't ICS ready.

It might sound weird how i resolved the battery issue. I went to settings and unmounted sd card. Then restarted phone. Then inserted card, mounted, and let it go through its motions, when it stabilized... I restarted it again.
All is well. Run cpuspy to check making sure its going into deep sleep properly, remove apps or set them to manual update. Im not a big Facebook guy, i have an account, but the recent update forced 1 hour check ins, preventing deep sleep. Be vigilant in checking apps anytime they update.
This ff18 (two weeks or so im on it) is fabulous and smooth for me. No rooting, i did the YouTube guy update real easy

Same here... Not sure how to fix this issue and I downloaded betterbatterystats and cant figure out how to use to figure out what the problem is.. Hope someone FINALLY has the answer to this battery problem!
I got the ICS 4.0.4 OTA update back around 7/12 and phone became a useless brick finally got the original GB 2.3.6 back on the phone and rooted ...
About 4 days after getting the phone back in working order the ICS OTA update was sent again and i would receive a notification message indicating to perform the install or do later about every 3 hrs or so...
Tried a trick by setting the date to way out in the future like 2025 the flip the date back to automatic and that would keep the message at bay for about 24hrs or until a reboot or power up happened...
So the next thing i tried was Root Explorer i removed '/fota.rc' and also the downloaded ICS update under '/cache'
So far the second option has prevented the notification message from reappearing until a reboot or power on happens ...
Theirs gotta be a another file i am missing that needs to be removed to prevent the power up notification from happing ...

So, today at 2am my phone went all crazy with a status for a new software update. But unlike the leak 200mb+ this one is only comes at 94mb. Is this the official jelly from Samsung and tmobile? Here's a screen shot of the package being downloaded.
Update: false alarm, still reads 4.0.4.

Same here. I downloaded it, not thinking that it may hose me, but then I postponed the install, not wanting to potentially lose root and/or custom recovery.

from what Ive read, root is intact but the update replaces the custom recovery with stock recovery. (correct me if Im wrong, but I read this on this forum)

Yea I saw the update to, unfortunately I had to titanium stop them due to my ROM
Been reading all day every time you reboot it reverts back to stock recovery.I think there's already a fix but im gonna wait till someone cooks a Rom with new firmware that have the fix baked right in like raisins in oatmeal cookies

Yes there is a very easy fix! Delete or rename these:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
Now reinstall your preferred recovery and reboot.
Thats it!

Its a small update to jelly bean, but it is not. build still says ics
Mine upgraded about a week ago...the only thing I noticed that was different is my web browser

I tried to root my phone after I updated but I cannot get into custom recovery. It keeps going back to stock recovery.

I'm unrooted, no custom stock, kernel, anything, and I got this update today.
Still 4.0.4, only differences that I could tell were in the web browser and in the pull-down menu from the top of the screen. There's a brightness slider there now, and the brightness options in the browser are gone.

Alright I need some help I actually just received the update this morning, and To me it just screwed something up really bad with my notifications, before the update whenever I would receive a txt the phone would vibrate only which is cool, now when I'm in a call the phone does the Notification sound and vibrates, and I'm that person who texts alot so it gets extremely annoying when your on the phone and it vibrates every 5 seconds to wear previously it would just be a notification sound , but now it does both I can deal with the sound just not the vibration, I checked all the setting read everything possible online even called t-mobile and nothing!!! You guys know of any solutions? And if not I might have to revert back to the previous version even then I still don't know how to do that.

Try going to settings-motion - and turn OFF smart alert.. That's the setting that makes your device vibrate when missed calls /messages are received to notify you when picking up the device..

I already had that setting off I doubled checked and still, dude it was perfect before the update now it's just driving me insane!!!!!! But anyways thanks the help I reall appreciate any suggestions.
Hello guys, I am currently rooted on stock Android version 4.1.2 and randomly getting a "Connecting to Dm Server" sign showed up on my toggle menu, its a blue and red arrow I've seen this before of course when I wasn't rooted and it updates my software and what not. But is it because I am rooted it is not updating and getting stuck there for days? It goes away after I freeze it in app quarantine but I feel like i am missing out on something and when I unfreeze it it just pops up again and gets stuck there.. What are my solutions? You must be using a stock 3e recovery to get updates of course...and updates generally do not play well with rooted phones...
If freezing the updater doesn't bother you...then leave it frozen..
The updater runs every 24 hours...or on reboot anyway...and is annoying for users without root...
Personally...I would enjoy your rooted phone...and freeze the application...
If anything important comes along...you'll see it posted here within hours...and can deal with it then...imho...g
