Tried to do a battery rest as per the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903
I think i did something wrong.
Phone is currently stuck on a screen with a picture of a phone with a red triangle with an exclamation mark.
What do i do?
You're in recovery, press vol up and power and you get a small menu where you can select to apply the clockwordmod update.zip to reset your battery stats (assuming you're rooted)
Thanks so much. I thought something went horribly wrong.
My phone wasnt rooted, so i guess i shouldnt have even tried to reset the battery stats.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
A long time ago, I believe I updated my HTC Hero with a custom ROM.
I currently have
- 2.1-update1
- SW: 3.32.405.2
I just sold the phone and tried to bring it back to factory settings.
But I can't.
It won't re-initialize and I can't even delete my GMAIL account.
In short, I don't care which version is installed, I just want the phone to be updated with an official ROM, so that its new owner can turn it on and configure it as if it was knew.
The phone is NOT rooted.
If anyone has a hint, I will consider it my XMas present.
Thanks a lot!

Either wipe it from recovery or use a RUU http://www.shipped-roms.com/downloa...io_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed.exe
Look it up, it's easy.

Mine is doing this too,
I tried rooting during the downgrade process (Because I had gingerbread) next thing that happened was when it would start up, it would take a very long time for the white htc screen to show up, and would vibrate (constantly) for 2 full minutes. the white htc screen would then show "quietly brilliant" under the logo and boot. but now it's going to the phone with red exclamation mark in a triangle. Phone is not rooted, hit power and volume up, went to update zip, told me invalid...
what's next?
*edit*
p.s. htc inspire 4g.
also before black screen w/ triangle I ran hack-ACE to put stock ruu back.
restarted again, and now it's usuable, but still does the looooong boot up.
No touch Screen Sensation
Hi forum I am in desperate need of some help. I have an HTC Sensation with a non responsive screen. There was a software update I believe on the forum that claims to resolve this problem. I want to try an upgrade or something hoping my screen issue can be resolved. My problem is how can I upgrade a stock ICS firmware without the use of the touch screen or touch buttons. Or even root the phone from the boot screen.
Second question can I load my external sd card in another Android phone like to load the software on it and then insert it into the Sensation and then linstall it from the boot screen?
Thanks for your help
Sensation HTC with version 2.3.5 locked
I tried rooting my Mytouch slide using the superoneclick method. I had the back of my phone off, and either before I started the program or during, my SD card came out of the phone. The root failed as it said it couldn't gain write access, presumably because the SD card was out. The phone was still working after the failed attempt, I didn't see the superuser access app, so I assumed root had failed. Unlockr suggested rebooting the phone. I did so, but now it just goes to the Mytouch splash screen, does the stupid video of the phone and all the peoples pictures coming out of it, plays the T-mobile jingle, screen goes black for a second then repeats infinitely (and loudly). After this happened a few times, I noticed the SD card was not fully in and I assume thats where the problem occured. I can get into the bootloader but it tells me the ESPRING.zip and .nbh "No image!"
Here's all the other stuff from HBOOT
ESPRESSO PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.52.0000
MICROP-0620
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-7.09.35.10
Is this simply a matter of getting a recovery image onto the phone? Hope I have not irrevocably bricked my phone, any help would be deeply appreciated, going back to my Moto F3 is tough. My ignorance shames me. Thanks
If you put [Q] in your thread title then you should be posting in Q&A not Dev Section

Sounds like you need to restore to stock before attempting to root your device. Follow this link to download the stock rom.
Place ESPRIMG.ZIP on the root of your SDCard and boot into the bootloader and it should load ESPRIMG.zip automatically and you should be back to stock and in business.
I would also recommend using this method to root your phone
I go through the bootloader, but when I go to fastboot it loads up the ESPRIMG.zip, its checks the zip file, but then it says "Main Version is Older - update Fail!", and asks me to reboot, which takes me back to the same loop problem. Anything else I can do?
Try just going into the stock recovery and do a wipe. That may or may not help you.

If I try to use the recovery option, I just get an icon of my phone with a red exclamation point in a triangle. Is there some other way?

Once you see the screen with the red exclamation mark, wait a second, then press volume up and power i think it is. it might take a second to load after you do it. you should get a little message on the bottom of the screen in yellow, then you should have options to wipe and other things.
The MyTouch Slide lives...again!
Thanks to everyone that helped, my phone is working again. Now I just have to get rid of those silly seagulls that come as the default background. Thanks again, hopefully my next root attempt will come a little easier!

Guys are BOTH hijacking the thread, really should make your own. He implied that wiping fixed it. Do what the thread says, go to recovery and wipe. You can also do this from the bootloader by selecting clear storage.

I'm having the same problem. I did the wipe through BOOTLOADER/Clear Data since the recovery doesn't work. After the wipe I am stuck at the splash again.

i have purchased a 2nd hand desire z from someone, i noticed it has clockwork and rom manager installed, i think it also has super user rights. I also noticed that the rom is Virtuous 1.0.1. Thinking this meant that the phone was already rooted, i used rom manager to download and install CM7, however it caused the phone to be semi bricked, then i also realised that the phone was also S-ON.
Fortunately i managed to reboot the phone into CWM and restored the previous image, so now the question is, what is wrong?
PS. new to this whole android thingy..
hmmm... sounds like MAYBE you had a temp root?? Is you had superuser you definitely had some form of root, however, i am not sure you can flash a new rom if you dont have S-off (but i could be TOTALLY wrong here)
I have an Evo (and dont have this temp root issue), but i am helping a friend with a similar problem with his G2.
Can you get into recovery? (while phone is off, hold the volume down and power on the phone) If you can, do you have Clockwork recovery or stock android (says 3e at the top i think)?? If you have CW, just enable USB, download a CM7 through your computer, put it on your SD and flash it. SHould be good to go.
If you have stock recovery and S-on.. WELCOME TO MY BOAT... I am trying to find a solution to this for my friends phone. If i figure it out, i can let you know (please do the same??)
I am having the same problem, with the same rom. I can use all root apps, but it says S is ON? I can't put any other rom on my phone with out it going into boot loop or just staying on, HTC screen. Some one please help us, I know there are many phone guru's on this site. Any help would be over the top. O-yeah and I can not get the wifi to connect either says error or turns it self off after scanning? Please please please help. Thank you in advance.

What state is your phone currently in? Please try to make as much sense as possible so we can help you. Can you boot the unrooted rom? What does your hboot say? Can you get into recovery? What rooting method did you try?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
First off, do NOT send it in to Sprint. That is very important. Do the following:
First, before doing anything else, connect your phone to your PC and enable disk drive. Wait a couple minutes now (I usually have about a 45-second wait before Windows registers the fact that there's a removable storage device detected) and see if you still aren't having your device show up.
Make sure you have a reasonably charged battery before doing this, since it can't charge during these steps.
Boot your phone into HBOOT (turn off, then hold Power and Vol-Down until the screen turns on.) Post here what the text in green at the top says.
Next, try to load recovery. Post which recovery you have (if there's no text and just an image then you're using the stock recovery). If you're on anything but stock, reboot your phone now. If you're on stock, pull the battery.
Finally, as well as what method you used to root, what did you do to UNroot?

Boot into a custom recovery and do a factory reset. If you need to backup your internal storage, use adb pull /sdcard before resetting and it should pull everything on your sdcard.

I might have bricked my phone. My problem is it won't boot up, but i can go to recovery mod, well, at least sorta, i have that red exclamation mark and triangle above the robot when i try to get into recovery mod and don't know what to do and also, i don't want to lose data.
What exactly have you done?
