When my Galaxy Nexus GSM is not plugged in, the battery shows itself as "discharging". Previously this used to be "not charging". I have tried multiple (Jelly Bean) ROMs, different cables, wall and USB chargers. Same problem. The larger issue: my PC no longer recognizes my phone and I have resorted to using AirDroid to transfer files.
Can anyone shed light on this issue?
I have done full wipes, including wiping battery stats.
Mine was always discharging...
And make sure that you got fast charge off if you have that on. That disables MTP capability.
I have exactly the same problem...see my thread...its recent!

I had a similar issue, and then not long after the phone refused to charge. I had to take it to get serviced, and the ended up giving me a refurb instead.
I think it has to do with the temp of the battery, if its too hot and you have it plugged in it will say discharging.

First, don't use a charger other than the original. The different volts mess with the NFC chip and antenna. Try disabling NFC and rebooting. Leave NFC off and try to charge. If that doesn't do it I have another option that might work but I'm CDMA so you would have an extra step to change lines in file.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I tried disabling NFC but it had no effect. My phone is the international version (the box was in Polish) which is not warrantied through Samsung USA, so I guess I'm out of luck there as well. I'm just gonna hang in there until the next Nexus phone, I guess.

When will people realize that the difference in voltage won't cause any problems with the phone as long as they're within safe range.
I've been using the charger that came with my G2 (htc) on my nexus for months and have no problems. I would've continued using the original one that came with the nexus but it had an annoying whine to it.

Really because it sure seemed to be my problem a while back and anytime i use a different one. Guess samsung and google must not know what theyre talking about.
Chargers are rarely the problem, however different usb cables might be the problem instead.
New glitch spotted when phone is of and in the charger it wil chrage for like 2 seconds and then the animation saays the phone is full!but 2seconda later its charging again so on and so on... sort of chargingloop..
But it never charges

I have this same issue
My Galaxy Nexus from Verizon has worked flawlessly for several months now. It updated about 4 days ago to JellyBean 4.1.1 and I have been charging the same two wall chargers, car charger, and USB cables every day since I got the phone. I even was using the USB charger to deploy and debug a simple application I am building around noon today. This evening at about 8 PM while on the wall charger I noticed the charging stopped. No lightening bolt icon, status says Discharging, and I noticed one time that it said Not Charging. Neither of the wall chargers work, nor is it recognized by the laptop using the USB cable. It is at 65% charge and is dropping fast. It seems that no one has a fix for this other than replace the phone.
Very difficult for me to believe that the USB port just went bad using the same chargers every day. Hard to blame JellyBean that has run at least 4 days with no issue even though several sites point to a possible charging issue. I even dialed *#*#4636#*#* and checked the battery status, and it's health was good. I have not rooted or placed anything on this phone that is obscure beyond my simple near "hello world" development apps. I have rebooted, and performed a battery pull with no such luck. With the number of posts pointing to a JellyBean issue, and users experiencing the same issue after the upgrade to 4.1.1 I am leaning towards this being a software issue, but it is interesting at the number of posts saying that the their only fix is a refurb phone replacement from the carrier.
Pretty odd occurrence, and extremely frustrating. As I said the phone worked fine all day today. This just started a few hours ago for me.

OK I have fixed my issue. and it does appear to have been hardware related. I will preface this with you must be very careful not to break your phone with the solution below. I read several posts about using contact cleaner on the USB port, so I looked at the port on the phone and noticed that the "toungue" inside the reciever USB port appeared to be slightly bent down. With the phone off and battery removed I used a needle to wedge under the toungue and bend it up ever so slightly making sure I would not break it. Pluged in the phone and it still did not charge. (That was last night) this morning with the phone at 55% and thinking it was going to need to go back to Verizion I did it again phone off and battery removed only this time a bit more forcefully out of desperation. I definitely moved the "toungue" up and even had a bit of difficulty getting the USB cord to slide back into the connector. But when it did the Phone is charging again. Appearantly I must of jammed the plug into the phone upside down last night when getting into my car and bent the "tongue" in the USB port. Lesson learned, and hope this helps others.
Means the battery has been recharged and discharged to the point were it holds less of the charge. Basically its an older battery, or its been tappered with with, probably a rom using to much ram or pussing the device a bit too far nightly and ported roms could be the cause I say stick to stock kernal unless you really now what to do
Scrap that wrong fourm I think
My gnex is not charging..i plug in and the battery symbol doesnt show charging..when i check battery in settings it shows not charging instead of discharging.
Another thing is that if i switch it off and plug in the white charging symbol occurs but after an hour when i switch on the battery is at the same percentage..
pls help :'(
Ive had those same issues..I went to charge it on my car charger and it instantly began working. The very next day I tried my hone charger again and it would work..Crazy thing is when the home charger wasn't working for my GNEX, it would charge my girlfriends phone just fine!!

Have had a charging issue as well, and solved it.
Hey there,
my SGN was not charging at all not even when turned off, started two days ago, the first evening it was only charging on one out of my three USB cables (each cable has its own wall charger).
Also my PC with "Win 8 Pro" was not recognizing my phone at all.
My first try was a bit stupid, but it worked, well for one day only. I bite on the USB cable, so the part that goes in the phone was a bit deformed, and the SGN was charging again. \o/
Next evening, I had the same problem again, but this time, non of my three cables was able to charge, even after further deforming tries.
My final solution was to use a needle, stick it in the USB port on the phone and bend the small "tongue" a bit up, so it was exactly in the middle.
My Phone was off and the battery removed. I put all together again and plugged the USB cable back in, it started charging while off.
Then I just turned it on, after booting was almost done, my PC told me that my SGN is connected and it was still charging.
I removed the cable, plugged it back in, several times, also on all three charger with its cables, finally my problem seems to be resolved.
btw. My SGN is from November 2011, so one of the first here in Europe.
I hope this can help some other with the same problem.
Kind Regards from Germany,

I had the same problem, GNex quit charging. Fixed it by using a toothpick to gently move the "tongue" in the USB port up towards the LED (screen side). I used a wooden toothpick as I didn't know what would happen if the connectors shorted using something metal.
Apparently, moving the USB plug around when it is in the port can move things out of alignment. Very easy fix, takes less than one minute. You could use a plastic pen cap or whatever you have lying around as a tool.
If you are under warranty, you could always ask for a replacement.
I had this problem a while back, first only some chargers would work and finally none of my chargers worked. In my case it seems like the problem was pocket lint tightly packed at the back of the usb port. The lint was grey and so tightly packed that I couldn't see any thing wrong. I used a fine tooth pick and got a good size wad out and the charging problem was solved. I always thought that the lint prevented the usb cable to be fully seated but maybe I bent the "lip" while trying to get the lint out

Well, I've left my phone on charge with the adapter charger and it was recharged. Now it seems to work also through usb
I got a new Gnex today because of this same issue. It would randomly not charge no matter what charger is was using. What's weird though is I never had an issue transferring files to my Mac and vice versa.

Thought that was lint but in my case even removing the lint it wont charge CORRECTLY -- with the original charger (it was uncharging after some movement).
Then I realize that forcing the usb plug to go more inside the USB port it works. What I did: Removed the black protection because it block the plug to go more inside the phone port. It's now metalic (lol) but not a problem of charging anymore.
I'd buy some heat shrink tubing for that before you cause a fire .

Unfortunately, all that really does is shorten the battery's life. There is no benefit to forcing it to that feel good display of 100%.

Here's my full experience with my Galaxy Nexus charging problem --
I bought this one eBay, came with 4.1.2. Didn't even test charging before I updated it to stock 4.2.2 and rooted it, so I'm not sure if the problem developed after my software update, or if it always had that problem. The eBayer said he didn't know anything about it. I'm on stock rooted 4.3 now, and the problem persists.
The phone has never charged on any of the several AC adapters I've tried. These have been between 250ma and 1A, and they wouldn't work whether the phone was on or off. It would consistently charge when connected to my desktop computer, but that all changed a few weeks ago when I changed out my computer's power supply. Now, the only one trick I've found is to turn on WiFi, BT, GPS, and put the screen at 100% brightness, then plug connect my computer's USB cable, and it will go into charging mode about 35-50% of the time. This works OK, but one extra annoying bit is that when the battery reaches 100%, it stops charging, and won't start again until I do my little trick and replug the USB.
I tried replacing the USB port, but that didn't fix anything. As far as I can tell, that's the only part that can be easily replaced by a normal person. I'm basically managing this by swapping in batteries charged by an external charger.
Got major issue all of sudden and phone won't start anymore
I have been tweaking with my phone customizing it for like one year and didn't had any problem. I flashed with KitKat gummy ROM and then reverted back to 4.3 stock jellybean using ROM manager installed previous saved 4.3 stock rooted ROM.
Further installed clean master and did some advanced cleaning of cache files. WELL after reverting back I started witnessing some major flaws with battery charging status earlier with KitKat I wasn't using any battery saver app but after reverting back to 4.3 I installed DU battery saver and it would like take ages to charge my battery like 7-8 hrs but I wasn't paying much attention to this. I did some advanced cleaning with clean master, but anyways that won't clean any system files that would hinder the functionality of phone right?Problem started cropping up as I detached my power cable without switching off the supply ( even though I had done this previously many times before) , phone flickered/froze and switched off and won't start without external power supply even though i had 57% battery charge that too showed random status, sometimes 0% and sometimes 50+ %. This went looping for sometime then like it won't switch on even with power supply, just showing for a sec the battery symbol with bolt sign when the charging cable is inserted and going blank within 5 sec . It would show the battery icon sometimes and sometimes no sign just plain blank..
Well I tried different ways as suggested like pushing the small tongue inside USB to middle or attaching to laptop w/o battery and putting back n starting but all in vain, no response.
I am not sure any major fault has cropped in the charging circuit or is the phone bricked? Battery dead?
Guys do give some suggestions.. I have been charging using diff usb cables, no response but just that battery symbol for 5sec n going blank..even though i have been charging the phone is getting heated..but does that imply anything?
do provide some insights guys
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the awesome solution. It worked for me before a week. I faced the same problem and now this trick is not working for me ;(. Please help me out.
Hey Guys,
Over the last year or so I've had intermittent charging issues with my Galaxy Nexus. About 4 months ago is when it first started happening, the phone would either not charge or only charge when it is turned off. Somehow the issue was resolved through tons of troubleshooting, I'm not even sure what fixed it or why it started working again.
Same thing happened about 2 weeks ago, except this time it won't charge at all. Then 2 days later all of a sudden started charging again. Now it's happening again today, I have no idea what is going on or why this handset won't charge properly. The phone won't turn on with just the charger in and the battery out either.
I've tried various chargers including the OEM charger, I've tried up to 6 different chargers and 7 seperate micro-USB B cords. Nothing. I've tried a brand new battery that a friend bought for his phone before he threw it in and no results.
At this point I think it's the USB charger board, however I'm not sure why it would not work and then work again. Does anyone have any ideas or any solutions? I've read thousands of threads on this, from this forum and many others and have gone through some ridiculous troubleshooting methods.
SCH-I515 Korean Version.
Seriously, anyhelp is appreciated.
As of now, all of a sudden it will charge while it's off. But only to about 4% then it just stops charging. It will not charge while it is on at all.
Because it's getting worse and worse?
Relock bootloader, and return it in for warranty, if you can. I'm afraid there's not much help if you already checked for damage to the USB port.

hi
had the same problem until a few minutes ago.
received my usb/charging flex part today and changed it just before to post here.
took me like 20 min, really easy to do, everything works perfectly and i also took time to clean up a bit the phone inside of some dirts and change the housing i bought with the flex part.
As my screen is under protection since the beginning (4 months old), and that i recently bought a 2000mah battery, well i have to say that i have a new phone ready to handle the new year easily!
operation is easy and you will find plenty of videos on youtube showing how to change the usb flex (7€/$ , +/-) so pretty cheap.
Good luck
Why not buy an external battery charger and a spare battery?

I'd get a replacement daughterboard and switch it out yourself. It's easy dude, just like a previous poster already said. I just did it myself, took me all of 20 minutes and cost me $10. ifixit.com has a step by step direction sheet, if you have any questions feel free to contact me about it.
Try the following:
1.) Turn off your phone.
2.) Get a flat head screwdriver (small one)
3.) Push the flat connector inside the microusb port up. (It often gets bent downwards because it's so thin compared to other phones...)
4.) Boot into the bootloader
5.) Hit volume down until restart bootloader appears. Press power button.
6.) Start phone manually.

i dont know why, but this fixed it for me, for a short while. now the charging is intermittent and seems to come and go as it pleases.
Hi,
I had the same problem of ghost charging, it started with phone not charging when connected to charger and then randomly showing charging...
Now discovered it causes vbus_tuna_otg wake lock, resulting in high system usage in settings> battery and not letting phone go to deep sleep, causing battery drain.

Same Problem
I've come into the same problem with my Galaxy Nexus as well. If my phone is turned on, my phone will recognize that a charger is plugged in but the battery will not charge at all. If the phone is off and plugged in, the charging screen won't appear. I've tried multiple chargers and cords, 2 different batteries, and even replaced the micro usb and board, but the problem hasn't changed at all. I've managed to charge my batteries with an external charger but would like to get my phone back to normal working condition. Does anyone think that changing the actual motherboard itself might solve the problem?

I had this problem before, using something small and flat to push the charging connector off the housing will work for awhile. The pin in the charging port is bent down and is very thin it's easy to lift up just use a tiny bit of force to lift it up. The pin touching the housing is causing a short and that is causing your no charge while it's on and mine even went as far as draining my battery very quickly. I did research and found alot of people having this issue on the gnex. I eventually had to turn mine in for replacement, no problems since. Hopefully yours is still under warranty or you can buy the peice that is broken and replace yourself, there is a post above saying what to do for that.
Looks like my phone developed this problem. It sometimes won't charge be it via my pogo dock or USB cord. It seems to start taking a charge after I pop out the battery and then put it back in. I'm going to order another battery and see if that is the problem.

That's good, I tried it a few times but the issue still pops up. To be fair though, I've had this phone and battery since launch day... Almost three years old. I ordered a new battery so hopefully I won't have the issue anymore... And I won't be surprised if my battery life is a little better too.

The Galaxy Nexus is nowhere near three years old. Your phone would be 18 months old if you had it since launch.

Excuse me, two years. According to Samsung their lithium batteries have a life of about 500 cycles. So my point is still valid, my battery is probably just on it's way out. I'll find out for sure when my new one comes tomorrow.

Yeah, since battery life hasn't exactly been the strong point of the GN and some of us had to go though a complete cycle daily, I suspect a lot of folks are going to be seeing more and more issues. Not too long ago, I had a battery that failed in such a way that it would randomly crash the phone and had to be pulled in order to allow a reboot. I would've suspected anything but the battery in that case.

This kind of worked for me, but the "boot into bootloader and restart it" killed my phone, don't know why. After a lot of a hassle i got it on, with 2% left, again not charging...tried to repush the connector towards the center and now i cant get my charger into the phone, maybe overbend it...what to do?...
I have a strange problem, my Gnex does not charge the battery, first i thought that it was the battery so, I tested the battery on other phone and it charged just fine, and then i ordered the usb/charging assemble from ebay and replaced on my gnex, and still not charging the battery, but when i connect the phone to the pc it recognize it immediately, but still won't charge the battery, anybody has an idea of what my problem is?? and how can i solve it?
Please help!!!
The last three mornings I've gotten up and grabbed my phone to find it not fully charged (46%, 71%, and 56%).
Each time the phone said it was charging on the lock screen but would never go higher than whatever it was stuck on.
I tried pulling it off the charger and plugging it back in again, but still it would not charge past some seemingly random and arbitrary value.
Rebooting the phone fixed the issue each time.
wtf? I don't really expect anybody to have any advice for me but still, wtf?
Going to try to get the phone replaced at Costco as I bought it less than 90 days ago.
Has anybody seen anything like this before?
I know that some samsung phone that i owned would have a protection against overcharge. It simply stop charging when it reach 100% and it still show as charging. However, stop charging at 56% never saw that.
Actually this happened to me the first time and only time a couple nights ago.. was sure that the phone was plugged in and charging but woke up and it was at 46% for some reason.
I've since rebooted and haven't had any trouble since so just figured its a one off.. but if its happened to you a couple times I would suspect maybe a problem with the cable or power plug adapter..
Don't know that any rooting or unlocking would be the cause.. (I am rooted)
My wife also has an Optimus G and we switched chargers/cords but I still have the issue.
I can't see how rooting could cause this problem.
Anyway, I'll try to get my device replaced. Thanks for the replies.

I am experiencing the same thing. It has happened 3x since I got the LGOG back in December. The previous times I thought I didn't have it plugged in correctly. Today I woke up after leaving the phone charged for 6 hours and it was at 23%. I rebooted the phone which I have done in the past and it would start charging, but today it didn't want to charge at all. The charging icon was on but the battery was discharging.
So I decided to cover the basics by swapping out the micro-usb cable with an old blackberry micro usb cable and it ended up charging normally again. The last 10% charge I used the LG micro usb cable again and it was able to charge normally.
Not sure if its the micro usb cable or the LG power adapter or may be the phone.
Any thoughts folks?
Again I have a feeling it could be the cable or power plug being used.. especially if you were able to plug in another cable and it worked ok..

Today I woke up after leaving the phone charged for 6 hours and it was at 23%. I rebooted the phone which I have done in the past and it would start charging, but it today it didn't want to charge at all.

Coincidentally, I also did some experimentation today with various chargers and cables and found my problem was specific to the cable that came with my optimus g.
Using the offending cable, I replicated the charging problem on my wife's optimus g using both the optimus g charger and my i9000 charger (thus ruling out the actual charger).
Such a strange problem though, the cable functions normally when transferring files or using adb shell, and seems to be able to charge my i9000 just fine.
Today I was able to fully charge my phone with the LG micro usb cable and adapter. No problems.
May be a phone problem? Its not consistent though.
This happened to me again last night. Starting my day with 10% battery :/
I am going to grab a different cable and see what happens.

I haven't had the problem since I replaced the cable. Before replacing the cable it happened every night and a few times during the day whenever I charged. I'm convinced the cable was the culprit.
I am seeing the same problem. My phone will only charge to arbitrary levels then stop. It's not a cable issue as it has done this with three other cables. Sometimes it just takes unplugging and plugging it back in. Other times I have to shut my phone off for it to charge. It also works to switch chargers (even though I have replicated the problem on all chargers) or do a reboot.

My problem has returned with a new cable, but not as frequently. I don't know. It only happens once in maybe 30 charges.
I know i'm bringing this thread back from the dead. Anyone get anywhere with this? Has anyone had any long term problems with the battery or charging?

I'm having this problem as well... Running Rootbox rom... phone gets plugged in, the battery icon starts flashing... but in settings it shows as "not charging" or even at times shows as "usb charging" ....
I'm going spare and crazy ... not sure if its a rom issue or if its a hardware defect ...
first thing to try in this case is a new cable if you have not already done so.. once I started using a store bought usb cable for it, I've had zero problems with charging.
Read on... before you just see the post and start flaming.
Been having a helluva trouble with my Galaxy Note II since a month now.
It all started a day in April when I was on a weekend break and my charger just stopped working. Not the charger, but the charger port. I even tried a few other chargers and none of them worked, whereas my charger worked on other phones.
So after the weekend without a phone I come back home and read some posts on XDA about moisture in the USB port. I blow dry the port with the hair dryer and things start working again. After a couple of days of flawless working, again the problem comes up. But it is nothing that a few 'frustrating' 20 minutes of fidgeting will not solve and so goes life.
There have been a few days where it has gotten so annoying that the phone simply wont charge no matter what I do and which angle I place the phone (yoga for phones, anyone?). The phone has even switched off completely at times. Yesterday was one of those days when it simply wouldn't charge.
So again I spend a lot of time on XDA and Google and what makes consensus is that there is moisture in the USB port, or there is something wrong (loose connection) with the USB port and it needs repair.
Few facts before we get to that, and my point about this being a software problem.
1. The charger, when it works, works flawlessly irrespective of whether it is on the table or hanging by the charger from the power outlet. I expect that in case there is a loose connection, the position becomes very delicate.
2. The charger, when it works after moving the wire around for a while, keeps disconnecting occasionally even though it has been placed on a stable table surface and no one is disturbing the table. After some seconds, it connects back automatically and begins charging.
2. The phone works without any problem whatsoever when I plug it into the Samsung car charger - never once do I remember it not working
Now here are my findings from yesterday after I almost broke the phone in frustration.
1. On a whim, I decided to do a factory reset of my device. After fidgeting with the phone for 4-5 hours and it not charging, it magically started charging after the factory reset.
2. After the reset and a 1 hour charge, I updated all the default software on the phone - including 1 samsung update, 1 allshare update, and 1 push service update. Within a few minutes of this update, the charger started showing the 'loose connection' problems again. I also noticed that at times the phone screen would switch on for no reason - for only 2-3 seconds.
3. Again I reset the phone, and force stopped some samsung services and disabled as many samsung services as I could and I could notice consistent charging.
I subsequently installed some apps (not going full out as I want to observe the behaviour) and occasionally the charging stops. I then go into the application manager and shut down some samsung services and more often than not the charging starts working.
After all this circus, I believe there is something wrong with the Samsung services, the phone device drivers, or the MTP service. It does something when it detects a cable being inserted and causes a malfunction of the phone. This is what it looks like to me.
In fact the same problem happens when I plug in the phone to the PC too. The connection keeps breaking and the phone is just not usable from the PC. However the interesting thing is that when the USB / MTP breaks, the charge is still working and the orange light is glowing.
So, finally the XDA relevant question. Can you guys help me find out if it really is a software problem or just some strange co-incidence? Are there any traces that I can pull out to see which app/service is causing the problem? There are many apps/services that I would like to disable, but they are greyed out - is there anything that I can do about them?
Mind you that my phone is not rooted - so all the usually available apps might not work for me. I use the phone as a corporate device and I can't violate rules by rooting the phone.
Any tips, suggestions, ideas, flames?
Hi I'm having the exact same symptoms as you I wondering if you got to the bottom of the problem? Many thanks

My wife has same problem with her note 2 since yesterday. I'll test and share the result.

Are you sure it's not the cable? Because many stock cables tend to be crappy, just try another one if you haven't. It doesn't have to be just loose connection.
Works here fine without issues, so doubt it's software. I rooted mine almost immediately, so can't say much about that though.
Ive tried 3 different cables and every time I plug one in s voice launches lol

Could be a problem with newer Samsung phones and their construction. I have a friend who has a Galaxy S3 (not Note 2) who's gone through FOUR phones so far -- all of them with the same problem of the charging port dying after a while. T-Mobile's insurance company is starting to give him dirty looks, poor guy ...
He gets intermittent charging before the phone stops charging completely. Now his phone is hooked up to the charger constantly while he's at home because of battery issues, so it's possible he's putting excessive strain on the charging port. My thinking is that it's a hardware issue rather than software, but who knows with these things.
mudge
my friend's note 2 having quite similar problem, every time plug in the cable, the phone start charging after some minutes. not the problem of cable, i tested the cable and charger with my phone. Plan to send it to service center.

Exact same problem for N7100 (international version)
I have been facing the exact problem described above. The service center has blamed water logging to be the issue. But seriously doubt it since the port seems to be working fine when it really functions. Also i noticed that when i restart my phone few times it starts to work fine(without me touching the charger cable or the charger itself). I guess its a lot to do with the software than the hardware
note 2 Gt-n7105 bootloops, with charger doesnt boot loop
Hi,
My note 2 seems to work perfectly fine when i connect my charger. But when I disconnect the charger when its full charge it turns off.
When I turn the phone on without the charger it comes on the screen where it shows the "samsung galaxy note 2 gt-n7105" its begins to boot loop.
Can someone please give me some solutions.
Has anyone ever solve this? I have the same on my S4....
I too have the exact problem of phone getting connected and then disconnected automatically in few minutes.
I fixed mine with the same issue
Power usage
Hi,
I first saw this when I was using my sat nav app in the car, I turned off the Performance optimised when plugged in option in favour of a lower power option and the problem went away. As I get more applications on my phone I see this more and more.
Could this be the power usage of the phone? The charge will supply 500ma, if the phone is already using a good portion of that the battery will not charge, so the phone shows the charge intermittently as the phone uses slightly more and slightly less power when the cpu, etc wakes and sleeps. More apps running uses more time on the cpu so more power. And of course as the battery gets older this would display itself more.
Just an idea based on what I've seen...
My Note 5 just started doing this, and only on the car charger using the Adaptive Fast Charge port. Charges for 2 seconds, off for 2 seconds, charges for 2 seconds. Using the normal port it charges fine, just slower. I have the Adaptive Fast Charge adapter at home and in the car, it works fine at home.
usb A3 usb issues
for mine it is intermittently not being recognised in file manager and also charging and then not charging round and round making beeping noises. This started when I dropped it partially in a bowl of oxtail soup. At the time it wouldn't recognise any cable at all. After I cleaned it with a cotton wool bud it was working again for ages but every now and then it wouldn't be explorable in windows. Now its acting up again, very difficult to get it to detect in windows, it starts charging when I plug in the cable but not in file explorer.
It's a real pain because its a samsung a3 which is difficult to open. I think really I will have to get it repaired - opened up and cleaned inside properly or have the usb port replaced.
I've watched many videos about mtp drivers and cleaning and bending the usb port a bit etc etc for many of you I think cleaning the port and/or bending the usb tab a bit would help, good luck.
Stop posting your damn problems so some one can answer it. Jesus look at the posts and see if there is an answer.l cuz you asking makes no difference because u have to scroll to the bottom to see an answer any ways. So just w8. Also ya it's software thing.... Samsung kinda sucks but what the hay I love them anyway even tho thay, including the expencive ones, are crap
