Great news mendozinas uot owner accepted my request of m1ndh4x8r rom in kitchen's list. So now we dont have to upload any files. we just choose it from the list. not sure havent tried it yet. Ill test it tomorrow. also if you like to donate to me just give it to mendozinas. im so happy.
check it out
go to http://uot.dakra.lt/
Edit: Other deodexed gb2.3.5 eu roms can use it to cause it has stock system files.
Awesome. Will have fun with this for a couple of days =DDD
I tried uot kitchen online with a stock rom (odexed) and used m1ndh4x8r's rom from the list. It worked. So no need to deodex a stock rom or upload any system file.
thats good. did your statusbar not dissapear?
no, it did not. I used mods for scroll glowing, loading circle and statusbar icons. they all work fine for me.

I'm using an "official" type donut rom with root. I was curios if the cayn 4.1.11 themes would work for stock 1.6 donut roms?
I am curious of this as well
this is what they make nandroid for. it will either boot and work or it won't, since most themes only have .apks it is feasible that it will work, it may require another services.jar though, and if it has Stericson's Lockscreen then it probably will not boot, bc the modded services.jar in it will not work with akirah's rom (i have tested that).
i was searching for this (themes for 1.6) and finally found it today
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538456
scroll down to post #7 and those work no problems. (with htc 1.6 donut)
as an update... i tried using a few different Cyan 4.1.11.1 themes and none of them worked. Ended up restoring my Nandroid every time.
So it looks like for now theres only Hero and Gchrome for donut?
There are only 4 themes available for Donut 1.6, one of which is for ADP only...they are in post #7 of the link that trexxcrap2 posted above...hopefully there will be more soon...I really would like the fadetoblue them for this build.
plz
can anyone of you post the links of the themes for donut here
i have unrooted vodafone htc magic 32b with stock donut
thank you

There's lots of old metamorphs floating around in the general android themes section. Flashables are harder to find since they're framework dependent. You'll need a theme converter to change the .thm file to a .xml file to use them with the new version, but after that any 1.6 rom should work. But of course, nand first.

Hi, i know we have a lot of mods for various roms like runny and arhd, my question is..can we use these mods on other roms that use the same sense etc,
I only ask because i know its luck of the draw if they do,for example i downloaded an ics theme for runny that was for another rom, the original theme seemed to leaved when even a small change was done in rctweaks, with this ics theme, the theme remains and is sweet..
Basically a long winded way..
Do the mods work on other roms because of the sense version, asop etc
or is it specific to the framework as i know when you use the kitchen it is based on that
Thanks in advance, probably is a stupid question yes
I don't work on any ROM's. Other than for me.
Rule of thumb
Sense specific mods won't work on AOSP/CM7.
CM7/AOSP specific mods won't work on Sense.
Backup & Flash, the only way for sure to know.
-
Hi andy, yep i understand you cant mod cm to sense and vice versa etc, but i mean
for example, ive got a theme for runny...but im running virtuious, both running sense 3.5.
some work for each other and some dont?
just curious to why
There could be a million & 1 reasons.
Framework differences, Sense version, kernel, installed system apps. The list could go on.
Your best bet is to make a backup, flash/apply the mod and see if it works. If not, restore.
Lol I use that method a lot, ill keep doing so

Hi guys,
I am confused with all those fancy looking ROMs.
You are good in coding, building, cooking but still not sure about themeing...
I have an idea and I wish to ask you to try to make ROMs that way:
1. cook the ROMs in classic look and easy to see and understand (white text on black menu or something) just the basic theming and give an option to update for another look...
2. when you are building sense ROM please make it the way sense look like not with some orange icons or percents with transparent menu upon a light wallpaper where you cant see anything without hardening you eyes.
3. building Cyan is the same, make it stock and give an option to theme it.
4. do not put some extra software in the ROMs, that way you just got where everybody wanna go away from (HTC way) We all want to remove the bloatware with the stock ROMs but stock ROMs instead of giving us basic option to install what we need give us more and diferent other bloatware
========================================
anyway, I am posting this because I am looking on all those Sense3.5 threads. I don't have enough time ATM to build one miself the way I like it to be, so I am searching for stock stable kernel, basic clasic sense3.5 look with sense3.5 functionality, stock icons and stock boot animation and etc. but I couldn't find such. every sense 3.5 rom is moded somehow, why you are using sense3.5 in the ROMs name when you use just few setings from sens and everything else is moded?!?
I do not want to be rude at all!!! you all have my possitive feelings, thats a wonderful forum with more wonderful members...just...please listen to me and when you build please add an option for the members to choose whether to update through a custom recovery the look of the ROM, give us basic look sense, ADW or MIUI ROMs!
Best Regards

Most basic 3.5 for WFS, use UOT Kitchen to change the battery to stock, its clearier than clear

to make a rom is difficult. for a starter, I'd like to suggest you to make an installable stock one. after you succes, you can modify the rom as you want. if you have a deodexed rom as a base, you almost doesn't need a kitchen. you can modify the rom directly by extract the zip file. knowledge about apk modifying and linux script is more important if you want to make a good rom.
hmmm i undrstand...so i guess i will take a deodex rom 1st and customise it....u have any suggstions???
well...if you start from stock rom, you can see chamatht post about how to deodex a stock rom. you can use cwm to get the system folder and get started from it. most of available custom rom here are deodexed rom. you can start from any custom rom which suit with your personal reference.
FYI, hybrid has minimalist customization, its the closest one with stock one. chobit have a lot of system tweak inside of it. repencis have good theme and excelent feature called repencis lab. weUI has beautifull UI while creed is known as a rom with beautifull theme. among them creed is difficult to modify since it has different framework. people said that weUI is tend to buggy, so I don't recommend you to start with.

in short words try fiddling with hybrid v4 xD
I haven't checked hybrid v4. but the older one is sure easy to modify. it also relatively small, hybrid v2 is only 85mb. the smallest one among sgy custom rom.
kkk hope i m going in the rght ditectio......i was gonna mess with creeds 3.1 since its super customisd ....i was lookin on basis of customusation...i lll go wid hybrid
moreovr i have the creeds 2.5 and 3.1 rom with me as well as the stock ddlc2 rom....hmm i cant choose ...wat if i go with creeds...i ll customise it more and put themes ...maybe i cud mix it ....having all the gud thngs and assembling it tghthr...i can always try...
since creed's apk's are recompiled with different framework you can't use apk from other rom to creeds. it also applied as reversal. only a few apk in creed are usable in another custom rom.
hmmmm i did lik to knw whch ones....btw i went thrgh all roms and short listd evrythng...mst of thm r common....btw wat does repencis lab do

Are deodexed ROMs able to work with Link2SD ? Or Link2SD supports only odexed ROMs ?
Are deodexed ROMs faster than odexed ?
1) You can use LINK2SD with deodexed roms.I'm using it for 2 months.
2) I saw some people saying odexed roms are faster and smoother than deodexed.
I've ran a bunch of different ROM's on my Wildfire S. Some were CM7, some were CM9, some were odexed, some were de-odexed.
Odexed ROM's have the odex files in the APK's, making it technically faster, but harder to mod.
De-odexed ROM's have had the odex files removed from the APK's and stored seperately, making it technically slower but easier to make modifications, as you do not have to decompile APK's to change them.
Link2SD had no problems with any of the ROM's in my experience, and despite the technical jiggery-pokery, its been my experience that after initial boot after flashing, de-odexed ROM's are actually quicker. So much for theory, huh?

I am not sure but I think you made a mistake. Deodexed ROM have the odex files in APK and Odexed ROM have odex files seperately, according to me.

It's one or the other. I don't like to get bogged down with all the low-level technical ****, someone else can do that, it doesn't interest me much.

Link2SD will definitely support both odex and de-odex ROMs.
You won't notice any speed difference between the two, but you will notice a HUGE space savings (internal memory) with odex ROMs. The only downfall, as someone mentioned, is that odex'ed ROMs are harder to theme (but not impossible).
This is correct:

Thank you all for your answers. Especially to Tigger.
Reodexing is really easy and gives you space, especially if you don't plan on theming it. (CM themes chooser still works).
See this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500475
According to what i have learnt about .odex files is that these are the files containing the information of the .apk file which separately is used in the loading of the app which makes the odex rom faster than the de-odexed which contains the odex part in the .apk file which takes time to load along with the app..
EQDKPv5.0_multi_odexed_mhr_2
