[Q] Different lockscreens - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching the forums for a while trying to see if there was anyway possible to find different lockscreens. If anyone could point me in the right direction or if anyone can help, id appriciate any and all help.
If this has been asked, I apologize and will delete if I need to.

You could try widgetlocker seems to be the most popular there's also a xda thread that is full of .zips that you can place in the WL folder and you'll have more than what's provided in the standard app.

Its in the market however its 2 bucks... but its worth it.. btw if your on TouchWiz ei22 then you could just flash a theme with the 10lock mod or if your on cyanogenmod7 then there is an option in cyanogen settings to change ur lockscreens.

If you are a little adventurous you can try UOT Kitchen to bake in an actual modified lockscreen. It's an online kitchen that can cook up minor modifications like lockscreens for you. I've used it to add a 1% battery to stock EL30. It's not too hard, if you can figure out how to root you can use it.

You go into your system with adb find the directory for framework go into it look for the app framework_res.apk pull it using command prompt once you have it out then you want to open it up with winner,or 7zip which ever you use then look for this image status_bar_background.png edit it using your favorite tool for editing I use Gimp....after you edit it you need to save it and close up your editing tool then you need to push the app back to your system.... I'm going to post a link to a thread that is good for learning how to theme check it out it will get you started.....

I love the theme but have no idea how I would go about extracting only the theme and porting it. Any help is greatly appreciated
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
The theme part its in system/frame work
The file are framework.apk and twframework.apk
Extract using 7zip both the bamboozled and the eg22 ones and copy and paste files that are in both frameworks
next make flashable zip
Then post on xda

Ehh, I wouldn't suggest posting it on xda without permission from Marcusant.
Maybe we can just get marcusant to post it himself

I downloaded Go Green and copied the two res apks from bamboozle into go green (called it go bamboozled). It boot but the status bar FC'd.
I've played with themes in the past; I merged midNIGHT, bionix, honeycomb and black mysterious beast.. plus a few of my own images that I ran on midNIGHT 5.3 for months.
I am going to attempt to create a theme zip with the images from marcus' rom for eg22.
If I get it they way I want, I'll ask if I can post it (I am a member on ACS).

Hard to find stock deodexed ROMs with the search function all of a sudden but I did find this one which should have the stock framework and systemui:

Thanks kenny, I don't see a downlod link for the Rom, but I am going to download apks from his github.

Yeah, he said you have to download it in ROM Manager.
I got the apks I needed from his github. For me to theme though I need to see exactly how are the phone icons effected with every change I make. Is there a epic 4g virtual emulator similar to "droiddraw" where I can see screenshot of my changes w/o me having to install the theme

[Q] CM7 Themes

I just want to know if I made a CM7 theme that worked with theme changer would I be able to upload it to the market and anyone who has CM7.2 could use it? So basically I want to know how to make a theme that could be used on any CM7.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Would it be okay to move this to the general section...? I think I'll get a little more help over there.. I'll let it sit around here a little longer though.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA
No this is a question... thus q&a general is for general new and things... not questions.
But themes for cm7 are much more difficult... it requires you building your own application or taking apart one and replacing it with your themes... but even then for things to work you need to edit xml's. Put basically you have to know how to make an application.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Exactly this. Google how to make a theme for CM7 theme changer and most of the links tel you to edit someone elses apk.

Well thank you =).
And what about just theming the template of it and making it as a flashable zip? Would that be the same making a theme for TW?

Yes... but that means people must keep it on system default and can't run any other theme... otherwise there will be conflicts... its more useful to make a theme apk for the theme engine... than make flashables as flashable replace the UI and OS but the apk mends them or morphs them... which has less conflict.

I've looked into one of the theme apks and I don't see all of the images I wanted to change. There's only like one folder that has most of the major images but I didn't see a lot of what I wanted.
