Hi all, i need your help...
Since the last official update my HTC Wildfire S does not work downloading from HTC Hub or the Android Market. Always displays only the beginning of downloading and then it falls, never download anything. When I try to download something from the HTC Hub (or AM) phone says "service not available to download." Nowhere in the setup I did not change, the phone has an official setting, no root or any other intervention, I have never performed, the data in the background are allowed.

Thanks a lot for your tips. Problem is not in installed apps... thanks again for some tips!
My nephew and his friend have this problem, too. I have opened a topic for this already here:

I have just picked up my new Orange HTC desire (very nice it is too, apart from the Orange stuff that comes with it).
The problem I am having is that I am now unable to download any more applications form the Andriod marketplace. I was able to do this until the other day.
I found this (android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile-pulse-pulse-modaco-com/304562/download-unsuccessful/)forum which basically says that you need the gtalk service running.
I had disabled this the other day whilst messing around and I couldn't work out how to re-enable this. (Possibly due to the ORange branding stuff, not sure).
I found a link to the gtalk.apk in one of these forums, downloaded it and installed that. That got the gtalk service running again. however I am still unable to download apps from the market place, this is very annoying.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
try clearing the cache from the settings menu / applications / manage applications / download manager and then reboot your handset. This worked for me earlier in the week.
Thanks for the tip, I tried it but still no luck, any more ideas anybody?
Cheers
EVO APP store
yeah, after updates, rooting, froyo.. etc..
i couldn't download apps as well.
Logged into GTalk and app downloads started working.

i dont think you need gtalk running to download from the market, im sure i have removed that app b4 and had no problems i can remember, what is the error you are getting? you have give us no info? is the download failing or the instalation? many problems with the market can be solved by going to settings/application/manage applictions, find market under the all tab, click on it then click on clear data, reboot your fone and try again ....
Hi guys,
Newbie here, just got my Arc last week.
I have problems with my games (at least for now), I downloaded apks via google search instead of buying them from the market. I installed them and when I tried to run the game, there's the initial message saying additional data should be installed or downloaded to the phone.
However, upon tapping yes I'm getting this error message over and over again: A problem occured and the download could not be completed succesfully. Do you want to restart the download?
Also, the pre-installed game Let's Golf has this annoying issues.
I have a stable wifi connection. What seems to be the problem?
EDIT: Already figured it out. Our IT Personnel blocked all file-sharing sites in our connection without telling us.
@lawgone
We don't discuss warez here over at XDA. I don't think the other members would appreciate what you do.
Moreover, you run the risk of installing malware on your phone. Be wary of what you install.
Cheers!
I just brought my girlfriend a wildfire s which she loved an everything was going great until she stopped being able to download apps from market place. I checked the phones memory an there's still 68Mb left.
You can use market as normal but when you go to download an app or update one the download starts then stops straight away. I swapped over our Sims but the problem stays with the phone.
Has anyone else had this problem or know what it is? Thanks in advance

I have an answer from the HTC Company:
The only solution is to do hardreset of your Phone.
Hello,
I´m having the same problem. Market ( 2.3.6) works fine, until I try to update my apps or download new one. When I try to download something somethings, it says that it´s starting downloadnding and in the same second says that downloading fails. Everything was ok before. I am googling it whole day but havent found nothing usefull...
I tried this last week n it worked n then i completly forgot to update the thread, so sorry for that n thank you to Kubel.

Hi guys,
Done a quick search and I can't find anything to do with HTC Sync Manager, only HTC Sync.
I think it's completely unacceptable that HTC has released the One X without a fully functional suite. I know that we have Sync, however its inadequate. If you plug in your phone, it asks you to download the Sync Manager, however obviously you get the page here saying it's currently unavailable.
I'm a bit edgy on using HTC Sync with my device, because from past experience I think when they release Sync Manager it will be completely messed up due to previous Syncing with HTC Sync. Does anyone know an expected release date for Sync Manager. HTC really should have this software sorted now, but it's been almost a month after release and it's still not out..
The trouble that Apple would have, had they released the iPhail without iTunes.
Still nothing and no word of any ETA ..
Doesn't anyone here at XDA have some links with HTC for more info?
It's really annoying this "stay tuned" nonsense. This software is part of the phone's package.. just like htcsense.com which is also down. Both have no ETA while you can count on it that if they were serious about these services they would have .. basically they've discontinued it with a "maybe when we feel like it we'll build something new".
Samsung and friends are providing muuch more in added value besides the little box of hardware in my hand. Not good.
The same question is more or less on hold here too : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25104184&postcount=8
I've been waiting for an update of the official HTC website since then, but nothing new so far
Available here for Windows http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/

HTC Sync Manager not working on Windows 8
Hi Guys,
I wanted to know whether the HTC Sync Manager is working fine in Windows 8 Release Preview.... I am using that as my primary OS as of now and I am not able to get the Sync Manager to connect to the device.... It shows connecting phone and then nothing happens.... Please let me know....
So, I have now reinstalled my entire PC with Windows 7 (was XP), and am getting THE SAME ERROR.
Google is returning nothing but this thread on it, HTC is being about as helpful as a potato.. basically nobody knows.. what the hell?!

I was having the same problem these days. I couldn't install HTC Sync Manager 1.0.39.1 on my Win XP (SP3) system getting the error message "... HTC Plugin could not be found. The installation will now stop. ...".
HTC support does not have any clue and cannot provide any help.
I tried to install the same downloaded installation file on a friend's computer (also Win XP, SP3) and surprisingly it worked.
During the installation I copied the extracted installation files and installed them separately on my computer and HTC Sync Manager is working fine so far.
I needed to install the following packages:
- MS VC++ 2005 Redistributable 8.0.59193
- MS VC++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.4148
- HTC Driver Installer 3.0.0.023 (HTCDriver.msi)
- HTC Sync Manager 1.0.39.1 (HTC Sync Manager.msi)
I actually found the problem (for me), I had automatically installed PC Tools firewall+... Apparently this interferes with the installation even when shut off, killed and services killed :banghead:
It also interfered with the installation of Filte Forge, of I didnt need that urgently i may bever have found the solution..
Deinstalling it fixed the problem.
I'll be a food guy and send an e-mail to HTC.. hopefully they can then be more helpfull to the next unfortunate soul.

Hi so I have a HTC Desire A8181and finally decided it was time to play about with some of the new firmwares that are out there to give my phone a new lease of life. Firstly I tried an update to 4.0.4 and ran into this problem.
Everything else works fine but I just cannot log into my google account to connect to Play and sync my contacts etc. I get the could not establish a reliable connection to the server error. I can browse the internet fine and have a solid 3G connection. I read through some other forums about changing the host file but this made no difference for me. Also tried turning off the auto date/time but this didn't make any difference also.
After many hours I gave up and assumed it must be something in that ROM. I installed a 4.1.1 ROM and ran into the same issue again!
When I restore back to my original 2.3.3 it works straight away. Checked the host file and it has nothing in there other than the local host.
I am now left on 2.3.3 as I can't get passed this hurdle and hit it with two completley different ROM's
The phone is rooted and has the custom recovery.
Any help would be very much appriciated so I can finally leave 2.3.3!

Thanks for your reply. I tried as you said but still no luck! The web browser works fine just seems to be the apps that can't connect.
Sorted it at last! Turns out once updated to the new firmwares was defaulting to a different APN setting.

So you just changed the APN settings back to the original (2.3.3) and it worked?
