[Q] Any browser shortcuts? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Is there anyway to jump to the end of the page or top of the page in the built in browser? Viewing some really long webpages that have "next" at the very end. Would love to discover some browser shortcuts.

I don't know of any shortcuts for the stock browser but Maxthon browser lets you use gestures which should do what you are looking for. Hope that helps.

Dolphin Browser Can't Reopen Previously Open Page After Closing?

Hi all, I'm currently using Dolphin Browser as I find it smoother than Chrome, and I also like how you can swipe from the left to get to bookmarks.
One thing I can't figure out though, is that if I close the browser from "Recent Apps" menu, the next time I open it again it'll just show a default page instead of the page I was looking at last. Is there a way I can set it up to show the previously viewed page? I couldn't find anything under Settings.

Well, when you think about it it's actually a good thing, when you exit dolphin it clears the cache and everything I use Dolphin to do my banking for that reason. So if you want to keep your things around don't kill the app.
Agh so I guess it's not possible then. Its just that sometimes I'll accidentally close it, in which case I'd lose what I was viewing.

Browser question

Hi all,
Before I venture into getting Dolphin or some other browser, looking to see if there are a couple of things the stock browser can do. Is there no way to get a button to go to the homepage? I know you can make a bookmark and go that route but one click is better than two. Also, is there no easy way to actually shut down the browser so when opening it the next time it opens to the homepage? How about clearing history, etc. on browser closing sort of thing. Do other browser have these sorts of functions?
Thanks,
Ho'okani

I searched far and wide on the expansive Play Store with the home page issue. The closest you're going to get is Boat Browser (Play Store link). It has a customizable bar at the bottom, where you can place a home button.
You can have it "prompt on exit" where you can check "clear records" and "do not ask me again." It clears the history and will automatically start your home page when you open it again. Boat Browser FTW!

Dolphin browser has the option to put the home button on the address bar - as well as the basic cache clear menu on exit.

[Q] On demand pop-up browser?

I like the idea of the pop up browser, but would only use from time to time. For apps asking how to open up a link, I tell them to open using my default browser always because that's how I want to view most of the time.
Is there a way to call up the pop up browser on demand from links? I'm thinking if I could long tap a link or double tap a link, it could open the link in the pop up browser. Keep in mind the source of the link could be any app, another browser, G+, Facebook, etc.
I know there is a mod to launch a stand alone popup browser, but I don't think that solves what I am asking about.
The developers of Air Calc have had a floating browser for a long time. They are currently making it available for 4.0+ android devices, i believe. I tried to download it to my Note 2 but it is not yet available.

...or at least offer "open link in popup browser" as a choice...that would have been the right way to implement this, because heck if I'm going to leave the defaults off so that 99.99999% of the time when I click a link destined for a full browser I then have to select "Browser" and then press "Just Once" all to open a simple web page. At the very least they could have put in a checkbox in the app selector box that would select the tapped browser in "Just Once" mode the moment you tap, so you don't have to confirm each time.
Sorry, I don't have a solution, I'm just completely echoing your sentiment about this.
I have a bookmark on the home screen that is defaulted to the pop up browser.
It is the only way I know to get the pop up browser on demand.
I press and hold link, copy url, press home button, hit my bookmark (I renamed pop up), then paste the url.
Hope this helps.
You can set the pop-up browser as default and hit the button on the top left to open the page up in the regular explorer.
Only problem is that this will open the stock browser. Which is frustrating if you usually use a third party browser like me!
Does anybody know how to make the top left button in the pop-up browser open Chrome rather than the stock browse?
That would be nice because I have all my data synced to Chrome.

Mine automatically opens in chrome when I click the top left button without setting anything up, I checked and there are no defaults set for either.

How did you accomplish this? Is there a pop up settings menu to set your default browser?
For everyone, floating browser flux in the play store might be an option.

Habit Browser - New Customizable Browser

Does anyone else use this browser? I just discovered it today and I'm loving it so far. You're able to customize everything from toolbar buttons to the color of the layout. It has 'in tab' history and you can create website shortcuts on your home screen. The quit options are pretty detailed too but I think the most useful function is 'Restore Tab'. Another plus is the ability to take a picture of the whole page, not just what you're currently looking at. Only downside is it doesn't support gesture typing and there are ads in the history and bookmark pages, but I think those can be overlooked seeing as you're able to customize everything to fit your desire.

Missing native broswer

I flashed .67 then rooted. Somewhere in the mix I lost the native browser! I would use chrome and move on but chrome isn't allowing me to add bookmark links to the home screen....which is key for me. Anyone know how the native one got hosed?
Chrome is the default browser. Did mean the old stock android "Browser"?

Are you sure?? Chrome lets me add a widget with direct links of my choosing to any screen. Looks exactly like the native browser widget with the only difference being the Chrome sign in the lower right corner.

Thanks all. I meant that in stock form the ZL had a chrome icon and another browser that had a blue globe as an icon. They seemed to be different in the way the operated.
I did figure out how to do the home screen link. It won't offer it if you are in the "star fav's" view of the bookmarks, while the normal bookmark view enabled it. Is there any advantage to the stock android browser? That must be what I thought was the "Sony" browser.
