My DM Server Will Not Shut Off ... Turnt My Phone Off Once To Fully Charge .. Turnt Back On And It Has Been On-Going For 9 Hours ...
DM Server won't quit
Same problem here for the last week. Not only is the Software Update app running and saying "Connecting to DM Server", but it is taking about 24% of the total processing time, ALL the time. Can't kill it with any means, whether the app manager, ROM tools or any other means. Even with the great battery of the Note 2 it makes a big difference.
I'd be shocked if others aren't having the same problem but I'd sure like others ideas, especially you gurus.
Everything is stock but I am rooted. i317 ATT.
Thanks

Found out the only thing that worked to end the process was to Freeze ATT Software Update with Titanium Backup. That worked but of course I won't get OTA updates while it's frozen.
I'd still like some help understanding what to do in the future with it.

hey guys same here, i just used app quarantine and froze it... it seemed to do the trick.
problem is when there are updates does that mean we cant update?
I am also on stock rooted.

Generally speaking...you can still get an update when rooted...if the stock rom and kernel are used....combined with the stock 3e recovery..
However....
Root may be lost...and a factory reset and reroot may be needed depending on what files get pushed via OTA..
The safe bet would be to freeze the updater...and wait for the devs to tear apart the update and see if anything of value was sent...
We continually run the risk of being locked out of root by the networks as they push out exploit patches...
Imagine getting an OTA while rooted...then lose the ability to reroot....and have a borked up device that can't be fixed at the root level...
Freeze is a great option....
And regarding the perma=updates...
Network glitch is now fixed....g

I factory resetted , I lost everything , ok im cool with that , i am un rooted , I will root and get recovery and try this again , hope it works ! Thanks!
Do the APN settings read correct ?...and does the device show the proper IMEI and serial number ?
I'm just trying to verify that the partitions on the device are correct...
I lost functionality on my phone in a similar way 2 days ago ...and the fix was a repair to one line in my EFS folder that had somehow corrupted on me...
It took me 12 hours to find and repair it...but now it works perfectly...
I would also suggest a flash of the stock rooted UCAMA4 build from Mr. Robinson's thread ...
Just use Odin and push the file to the device...
This rom among others will map and fill the partitions to the device again ...(PIT FILE )...and will often correct any partition damage...
You could also use the UCALJ2 stock build ..but I don't know if it has root ...that you'll be using for further troubleshooting anyway ...
Please report back regardless of the outcome if you don't mind ....

if your stuck on samsung logo with factory filmware you have to vol up, home, power then factory reset then wipe cache or partition then reboot and it will kick you out of the loop. I have similar issue but no signal even with new sim. Im going to att today and seeing if they can help me
YEP already back to stock , but i dont know what to do , maybe i can try a tmo radio ,its weird , when i dont have a sim card in i get full bars , but not service , if i put the sim in it will say no sim card or get out of airplane mode ,lol?ill keep plugging ,theres gotta be a "physical problem" if the MB is toast i dont think ill get another one unless i can get it for cheap!
Im gonn open the phone up later , I wonder if the antenna cable is loose and if that can cause the "faux" radio signals? its possible if its loose it can see the radio waves but not be able to connect , Ill find out!
IS THERE SOMETHING IN NV REBUILD THAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THIS? Ive read it causes the circle with a slash through it , well i already have that and have done a fact reset many times ,
nv rebuild
1 load default NV
2 Erases ALL EFS1/2/3!
3 MAKE BACKUP
4 RESTORE BACKUP
5 erase only backup
Golden-Backup Exist
you can restore CAL/NV
WELL MIGHT AS WELL TRY RIGHT?
hey was curious. did u ever find a fix for this? i have the same issue with a note 2 i have as well.

Anyone have the ek4 odin yet?
Ever since I got the update, my phone has been periodically rebooting a few times a day. Has anyone else had trouble with it? I tried clearing the cache, but that didn't help.
Mine just updated this morning to : MMB29M.N910AUCS2EQE1

I had that issue after Marshmallow. I had to clear my cache *AND* do a factory reset.
I finally determined, after getting a new phone with a factory reset (s7), and I was still having the same problem, that it must have been a bad app that didn't like marshmallow.
Anyway, I removed just about everything and reloaded 1-2 apps every 8 hours until I was happy with everything. I never figured out which app was causing the problem, but it's gone now (on both phones).

On Edge of Galaxy
Anyone know what was going on with the rebooting? Mine started doing that and I did multiple factory resets, odined back to a previous version, and nothing worked. I finally ponied up $72 to Samsung to repair the phone. Hopefully getting it back soon... Didn't see anyone else at the time with this specific problem,so I assumed it was hardware.... I'll be mad if I paid $72 for someone's bad app. No way to tell for sure though...
I can't update after 02 jan 2021 on my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005, all work good but when the phone restart... an infinite reboot...

They don't get restored. Somehow addon.d is broken. Wipe system and flash lineageOS and GApps.

It doesn't work ... I wiped and installed all lineageos, gapps and magisk, all good during the installations, but then endless reboots ...

Where can I find at least the one of January 2nd?

I tried january 9th... no changhes... all good and then rebbot... reboot... reboot...
The problem could be related to the twrp version 3.3.1-1_ashyx?
Thi is a modifed version i found online, the most updated version that work... all the more updated version end up in an endless reboot, just like lineageos now...

How about posting in galaxy note 3 forum?
My device is running .036 and about a week ago the system update said there was a download. I am assuming is .037 because that is the only thing it could be...
I try to download it and it fails and it says to try again and it fails, repeat ad nauseum...
Is this ( .037 ) supposed to download ?
Ah snap, is my phone's update software broken ?
I assume this android bug will only go away with a factory reset...
Hmm...
Because fixes are cumulative, should I just wait a little bit and download December's update. I am assuming there will be a software update in December besides the security stuff.
Vote now.
Factory Reset -or- wait
You can always sideload updates using adb on a computer if the OTA is failing for you

Ug, ya I know, too many questions... lets try again...
Question: Is the .037 supposed to download ?
Yes
I would just wait. The December update was rumored to drop on the first. But even if it doesn't, it shouldn't take much longer regardless.

Because mine is failing to download, I must have a software glitch. Crap. Crap. Crap. Glitches do not magically go away...
Question 2 : Doing the sideload of the OTA after pulling it down . . . will it wipe me completely. Is there a batch switch to install-all that will NOT wipe the data area and allow me to retain my setup ?

Cool ! I like that idea. Will the newer update push in front of the glitched update ?

The OTA will not wipe, no flags needed. Only the full image will wipe, unless you use the flag.
I doubt your update system is broke, I suspect you just got a bad download. Next download will be fine I think. So sideload or wait for December.

Monthly updates usually occur on the 1st Monday of each month, which would be the 6th for December. Just curious, where did you hear this rumor that they were deviating from this process?

To be clear, are you rooted, or at least running a custom kernel? If yes to either one, you shouldn't attempt to take any automatic downloads. At worst they just won't update, such as you found out, or at worst it could break something, although still not catastrophic except maybe losing some data.
So, if you are rooted or at least using a custom kernel, you should turn off automatic updates in the Developer Options. And if you're not rooted and not using a custom kernel, then go with what everyone else said. Now if December's OTA failed to update your phone correctly and you're not rooted or using a custom kernel, then I would consider first just flashing the full factory image (whatever the most up to date at the time will be) while removing the -w (wipe) command from the flashall.bat.
Also, to complicate this reply even further, whether you're rooted or not, have you /or disabled verity and verification? If so, when you use the flashall.bat, you're going to want to put the disable verity and verification commands in place of the -w wipe command - otherwise you would *have* to wipe any time you go from either enabled to disabled, or from disabled to enabled.
Sorry for any confusion my reply may cause.

I'm starting to think 037 was pulled from the updator
I have several friends with h p6pros and only the ones who got their device early in the release received 037
I'm still on 036, however the updator no longer shows an update is available, edit: looks like Google only released 037 for select carriers

It was America only apparently. Everyone else will get it in December as normal
From Orange France is 036, from Google store is 037
Fingerprint improvement patch was U.S. and Japan only, if you really want it sideload it, it works perfectly fine
