Is there a way to make my 3g any faster? It really sucks, sprint says they're working on it but I know there are tweaks you can do. I just don't know where or how to find them

3g Turbocharger by zepplinrox ;Google it
Thanx, it seems a little complicated, what's the worse thing that could happen if I f it up ?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
You open the script and use the unturbocharge option, or worst case reflash your rom after a full wipe I haven't had any issues with it and I've run all the options, I personally use option 2 or 5
Edit: not sure if the options are the same in the update, I use "faster" or "experimental nulled"

Thanx , I've been working on it but for some reason it doesn't work, it say that it cannot create some folders and the bulletproof launcher won't work. I ran the test and It's not working. I'm gonna read a little more to see what I'm missing.

Make sure u have busybox 1.18.2 or lower installed you can use busybox installer from the market to check your version and change it if you need too

I got the problem... Init.d is disabled, I have no idea how to enable it, I googled and searched the forums and nothing.
P.S. I did have to downgrade bussybox

This speeds up 3G (you need sense ROM not ASOP)

Thanx, but that's for something else. And for some reason when I dial that code, it actually dials out instead of asking for the password

You probably didn't downgrade your EPST.
Thanks for the input, I am kind of new and teaching my self little by little, can you elaborate

I typically got 400 down 150 up on stock froyo. Running Mikg with anthrax kernel I'm now averaging 1m/400k. Louisville, ky.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
The EPST tweak will only work in a Sense rom. If you were to try it and then flash to AOSP, it won't stick. The reason it dialed out instead of doing settings is because you're running AOSP. You would have to use the 3g TurboCharger tweak. Use the link in my sig.

I kept arguing with myself, if I should post this here or in the development forum, or what, so if a moderator feels the urge to move it, please do so.
Should end user speedtest via wifi tether (iPad) be somewhat similar to the results of 3g speedtest on the phone? I am trying to decide if I am getting in the neighborhood as what I should. I can be parked in the middle of a full bar signal area (I know, I know...the bars aren't fool proof, but all 4 at least means more than none or 1) and I only get about .9mbps on the phone and then about .7mbps on the iPad.
I'm using my Dinc (of course) and I'm running CM7 Final and the latest Incredikernal 2.6.37.6. I'm also using the wifi tether that's stock with CM7.
Thanks,
Roger

I am using the stock HTC radio. As much of a cutting edge geek as I am, I'm really nervous about messing with the radio. Is it honestly as iffy as they make it sound, or is it no different than anything else, just gotta pay attention to what you're doing?

Check md5 sum, flash with full(ish) battery, and don't pull the battery while its flashing. Oh and make sure your SD is formatted fat32. Check those things and you'll be fine.

There is a thread buried in Epic General somewhere here to do a manual MSL tweak that took me from having one bar 4g and it constantly going in and out to full bar 4g service. It is definately one of the best things I have done to my phone. It involves locating your MSL# with Terminal Emulator or ConnectBot and making manual changes to the settings.

BBlunts456, that is the exact one I was talking about. When I get to a computer I will click a "thanks" for you. This worked great for me. I have heard from some people that MSL# doesn't show up on EC05 modem. If that's the case, you can go back to EB13. I think that's when I did mine. It may have been as far back as DK28 for me but the changes stayed for me when changing modems.

No problem. I have it saved as a favorite on the XDA app so it wasn't hard for me to find. I did save it because I knew it would get buried. I think it should be stickied.

I am going to root my friend's phone, but I don't really want to flash a custom rom. I'm sick of being people's personal tech support guy. His main interest is wireless tethering. Is there a way to unlock hotspot on the stock rom? Thanks

I'm not sure, but I would flash a rooted stock rom for him and then have him download the free wireless tether app from the Market.
The only one I like is "wireless tether for root users" and it doesn't work on the evo..

Yes, it does. I've used that app as my primary internet source when I lived in North Carolina last year ad earlier this year and I have an EVO 4G and was using it with the Wireless Tether app.

Sense. On AOSP, I cannot get it to work with Gingerbread. There is a workaround but I have never tried it.
Ok ill give it a go. Haven't tried it with sense. I used it on my hero for months running cm7 with no problems but no dice with the evo. I even contacted Mueller and downloaded the latest version from Google code..

I believe you need a kernal which allows WT, try Lithids HTC Evo 4G Freedom-v0.9 Kernel Universal. Download WT right from Google on your phone.

I spent an hour messing with the internet setting of my 2 PC's trying to get them to surf. Then desided to do a search and found this post.
Thank you!!
You actually don't need a custom kernel.....
The hotspot hack works natively once you hack framework.jar.
And the wireless tether app only requires superuser permissions to work.

I would like to know if it's possible to overclock without running a custom rom and just running a rooted EH06 stock. I used roms b4 but now I just want to stick to the stock Touchwiz. I happen to like their feeds n updates a lot and a few other stuff. Plus might be handing my Epic down for the gs2 wen it arrives. So is it possible?

This oc app really made my phone unstable, and it ran hot and killed batteries. Though, it could have been a combination of things tthat I did. I would not recommend it. But, good luck!
I didn't try the kernel. I just found it odd that a kernel was available through the market, so I stayed away from it.

Up to 1200 seems stable. Going to 1252 and above I have found a way to get it to freeze or reboot ALMOST every time. Cyanogen was really good at 1300 though

Yea I was having the same problem. Seems like going above 1200 makes the phone crash and reboot. So I'm just taking advantage of the lil extra boost. To bad I have to manually start it after every boot...

There is a "set on boot" option in Tegrak. It gives you a good taste of what GB will be like when we get some overclockable kernels.

There are a couple of apps on the Play Store to boost your wifi signal, but in all I think there is no such thing.
Don't quote me on this, but I think the Wi-Fi signal was brought down to save battery. Although I have used other roms that had better signal I don't think there is too much you can do.

It all has to do with what tweaks are added, there is a tweak for wifi and 3G.

I'm actually using the same ROM, there's been a recent beta update to 6.5. If using script tweaks doesn't work for you, maybe updating will improve your signal, I see Sniper has a new script baked in, thanks to a friend. Beware, though. Be sure to explicitly follow the flashing directions he provides in the OP. Partitioning your SD card is vital, I know because I've tried without it and ended up not having a browser app, and there could be more problems, idk, still smoothing things out. There are some enhancements though, and it's only a beta, so don't get your hopes up for something stable.
