Is there any way to create dialer codes on the homescreen?
If I save it as a contact it merely tries to dial the number.
I downloaded Hidden Features FREE Sammy Edt which allows me to create a custom dialer code but it saves it within the app, there is no option to save it as a shortcut.
Try anycut it's free in the market. I think its what your looking for.

I want to use the standard phone with contacts to dial out on the service provider of my choice. It seems to me that Google voice was able to accomplish this task.
Do I need an app, which one and/or is there a simple config file to edit?
is there a way to create a shortcut on the home screen to call log because 99% of my calls are from the log?
I hate that the phone app by default launches the dialer, like anyone ever uses that. ideally it should remember the last tab but it doesn't.
Activity name in Launcher Pro Activities is "com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook.callslist.RecentCallsListActivity"
I can use LauncherPro create shortcut for this
Default Launcher need other App for Creating shortcut
I've try "AnyCut" but not work
You could also try downloading life.contacts it uses a widget to short cut to your most contacted..
Sent from the Arc.
Recommend you should use dialer one instead of default
You will forget default fone quickly.
I will do that
Is there any way to associate numbers to launch specific apps? Just like Cerberus does, but for any app I want?

Click to collapse
I'm not sure I get your question exactly, but i feel the AppDialer app might help you.
Play store link: AppDialer
are you saying that you want a "dialer" on your home screen but instead of actually dialing, you want the number "1" to open an app, and the number "2" to open another app and so on?
if so, this is something fairly easily done using Nova launcher. place your apps on a 3xwhatever Grid, then just replace the icon with the numbers you want (obviously creating the transparent PNG image outside of the phone, then transfering it over to the Nexus. again, this is pretty simple to do if you are handy with PNG's and Nova. would literally take me about 30 minutes to do it from start to finish.
The typo on my post title probably made my question harder to understand.
1 - I don't want to replace my dialer nor launcher.
2 - I want it to work just like when you launch Cerberus (You dial a secret number, it intercepts the number and if it is the one configured to respond, opens the app.)
The code for doing this on a single app seems to be this: stackoverflow/questions/9390579
What I want is a gui to create a "custom number alias" for any app I want.
Ex: I associate gmail with 46845 (t9 for G M A I L). When I dial this number, the "launcher" intercepts the number and launch the associated app.
hmmm....sorry but i have not seen or heard of anything like this....but it isn't something i necessarily want so that could be why
I would like to request a feature.
A long-press option to bring up a small window with the option to delete widgets in the SD Card list, Autosave list and the Configure widgets list.
That would make things a lot easier than using a file explorer.
Is this possible ?
The apk was taken straight from the Nexus 5, and has the search feature actually working! (confirmed)

Here's the apk which if you want to be able to make calls, you need to put in System/Priv-app and set permissions to 644:

FAQ from the website
I installed the app but the icon doesn't show up in my app tray. What can I do?
If this happens on your phone, the only solution we found was to use Nova Launcher because it has a feature that allows you to run a specific activity within an app. To set this up:
Within Nova Launcher, long-press on the home screen.Choose "Shortcuts"Select "Activities"Find "Google Dialer" in the list, then tap to open it up, and select "Phone" (use the first one in the list)
This will put a shortcut to the dialer on your home screen. At this stage, you can use this to access Google Dialer. It's not the cleanest solution, but it does work.
Can I disable my default dialer?
The short answer is no. As a general rule, you will need to keep your present dialer enabled in order to receive calls. The long answer is that on some phones you might be able to disable your stock dialer, but on others you definitely cannot. Feel free to try it on your own device and let us know what your results are.
(I disabled the first phone apk of the 2 that show up (flashing adds another one and I had it A-Z order))
EDIT: After disabling the APK, when I select "Call" the phone doesn't show any call screen whatsoever, and still has a call going, (mic works, and you can call, but the only way you can hang up is to leave the app and click the extended notification)
Again, this is all them!
