Update: We finally have usb host mode working on leo.
The interrupt problem i was having was fixed by liiochen, right here (his blog). He has also tested a few devices like keyboard, mouse, storage etc..
Attached is the kernel and modules in a cwm zip. usb mass storage, usb charging, usb tether and usb adb will NOT work. adb over wifi should be fine. If you were going to ask, it's based on the latest tytung kernel.
Requirements:
ICS rom
Self powered hub OR a Y USB cable
How to:
1) Reboot to recovery
2) flash file
3) reboot to android
It supports both clk/magldr.

great that some1 is working on this as its something that i want for my hd2 especially if u can.get tv out working wish ud post news on how ur getting on and more.developers would help u out i think u should do.a poll on how many people want this as id say a large percentage of hd2 owners on here would say they do. when i finally retire my hd2 would be great to turn it into a media centre by connecting it to tv and a hard drive for files. i hope u keep.at it until u get it working and if u want a beta tester count me in!!
Maybe Rick gave up on this thread, considering none of the posts in it (including this one) apart from his have been development related (we are in the development forum...)
Also, don't you think if he had news he'd post it?

I haven't given up on this but yeah, such people really do nothing but spam the thread for no reason. I will require 2.6.33 kernel at a minimum to continue because usb stack interface was changed between .32 and .33 linux. So instead of starting from scratch, i have asked tweakos who already has a .33 kernel running perfectly for the source code for me to continue, He mentioned he had some data loss but has a backup and it would take him around 4~5 days to recover and upload that somewhere.
As for the news, whatever news i would have about the host controller wouldn't be understood properly as most of it would be regarding low level stuff or unless the news is about release..
As for the possible uses of usb host would be:
1) USB joysticks, (any controller that works with linux) so you can play psx emulator with real controls, and other supporting games
2) USB TV in, Watch TV on your HD2 using a USB powered TV tuner card.
3) USB TV out, Use larger displays for your HD2 using usb monitors or some kind of usb video adapters certified for use with linux
4) USB sound cards for those who want real quality audio with an external usb sound card, but i think android does not support this. will require GNU/Linux distro.
Infact anything that works properly with USB 2.0 in linux will work in kernel space and can be used by apps which have ability for such hardware.
Wow, that's great. I love USB TV out function.
I want it, good luck
Good luck with this one. It would be great to have on our beloved hd2's

First of all, I'd like to thank all the super-talented people on this board that have persevered and have managed to create and tweak these Android ports for our devices. You peeps truly are amazing! Never would I have imagined running Android on my nearly-ancient TyTN II, but now I can.
Now that the praise is out of the way...
Are there any (or are there any coming soon) Android ports that would allow for full functionality on my TyTN II and actually be stable? For example, USB connectivity doesn't appear to work. As soon as I connect it to my PC, it starts and stops continuously. The Bluetooth functionality seems to be present, but whenever I attempt to connect a headset to the device, it only recognizes it for music playing, not for calls or as a hands-free device. In addition, it doesn't matter whether I overclock or not, I'm still hounded by constant application crashes and it seems to get worse the longer the device is on. These things (at the least) are constants no matter which port I install.
Any ideas or suggestions?
In the end, I'm still very thankful for all the talent here at XDA and am amazed at all you've accomplished.
Thanx again.
I have had my old Tytn2 running Android fast and stable for weeks now - details in my sig. Edit the nbh for Kaiser and your panel then you just need to do two extra things:
1. Run the wifi fix
2. Get hold of an app called SD Dual Mount for USB mass storage.
Not sure about BT. I don't use it on mine.
Like you I am in total awe of these guys getting Android working so well on our ancient devices.
u can run it but its not going to be as stable as a native android phone i dont think...
Eventually it will be.
So, nothing right now to stabilize and utilize the full functionality of a BlueTooth headset? Thanx again.

Nope, they are the same as linux kernels just ported to our phones. .25 is almost two years old lol. It is stable though as it is more developed for our kaiser.

Personally I'd go with .32 at this point. .25 isn't any more stable on my phone as far as crashes and lockups are concerned. And data loss issues with .32 seem to be mostly ironed out (I would still keep a /data backup in case tho).
Plus the performance increase from .25 to .32 is well worth it.

32 is probably better at this point. For quite a while, 2.6.25 would survive crashes better, but I think they're pretty much equal now in that regard. The 25 branch doesn't get attention of developers anymore.
Not to mention the .25 kernel is right about 2 years old now.

sorry for dummies question, but...
I have tytn ii as all of you, and have same bug with all 3 versions of Android setuped on it.
The microphone not working at least, so when i call somebody, i hear him, but he isn't hear me.
All other, include wifi, internet working good.
I found that it's well-known bug, and kernel version change could help.
But how to change it?
All versions i downloaded, based on 2.6.25, it's 2.6.25-01106-g50cf5f2-dirty on my device.
I found zImage file 2.6.32 but when i change zImage in andboot and restart - it's don't help.
i found NBH file for tytn ii ( kaisimg-panel2-240x320-2.6.32-tilt-froyo-09-09-10_21.nbh) , but how to install it?
Pls help!

There will be a formal list when it drops. I will make a thorough post of what's changed when the time is right.
The big ones are RIL & BT. Audio routing won't make FRX07, so BT audio won't work, but pairing with BT devices & transferring data should.
Great , thanks!
Sent from my MSM using XDA App
seems silly to me to evenrelease fr0x7 without the BT and the audo routing fixes already in place at least for the rhodium users., i understand that the BT and audio routing fixes are mostly RHOD specific so why not make 2 version's of FR0x7? Those are the changes that most ppl weant they want there BT and loud speakerphone. Just curious as to why it would even be released without those things since the fixes are out, if it means having to wait to release fr0x7 than wait IMO. i donno just my 2 cents
Audio routing isn't stable, isn't for all the devices and it's still being developed
So it's a time waste adding it now, then frx08 will have it..

Kernel issue, not a build issue from what I can tell.
Also, from what I've gleaned - the cam works, but only in low light. See

Bluetooth data would be great. I have an asus transformer which will not connect to an adhoc network, so WiFi tethering is out. The only solution I can find for tethering a honeycomb tablet is through pdanet tablet, which requires android on both devices and uses bluetooth. Thanks for all the hard work.

Is there a wpa supplicant hack for the transformer? My A500 tablet has the same issue stock, but with mod or custom ROM wifi tethering to my rhodium works perfect on ad-hoc. Anyway, maybe worth looking into.

Yes there is. I'm on an adhoc posting this from my TF right now. check the TF section for the xoom supplicant file or just flash prime 1.5 as this fix is already implimented in that rom
Will it have the new MMS fixes? That's the biggest thing missing for me. People love to send pictures and I always have to boot WiMo and ask them to resend it.

Yes, it will work for all carriers assuming you set your APN. Still hashing out the best way to do this, might just have to leave it up to the end-users to configure.
I flashed prime on my TF last week. Works great and has the WPA supplicant fix already built in.
I can tether to my TP2 in winmo or whatever! Works GREAT.
Also, waiting for FRX07. Great work on FRX06!

Not easily, there's many, many changes. The easiest way would be to pull from the XDAndroid repo (all of our code is available...) and build your own system image.
07 will be out soon. In the final stages of testing.

LAST UPDATED: 4/2/2012
WHERE ARE WE NOW? IS IT BOOTING? CAN I GET A NEW ROM W/ AN ICS KERNEL?
Is it booting? Yes.
Is there a new ROM for the kernel? Yes. It's still a work in progress and likely to continue changing as the kernel gets more developed.
Can I test the new ROM? Right now, there's no reason to run this ROM unless you're working on the kernel and/or bug testing. It is booting into the OS now and as soon as I fix up the Wifi and SD MMC mount, I'll probably put up a test link for testers -- lots to bugfix, this isn't "usable" yet. Especially since we don't have the Ducati loading for hw codecs.
How long will it take to fix? There is no way to know. I work on the kernel about 4-5 nights a week, and when I fix something, there's always something behind it which needs fixing as well. I am making good progress (in my opinion), but that may still mean weeks of development.
I'm going to keep a page updated on my blog so that at any point in time if you're curious what the output of the boot up looks like you can go take a look (this will be mostly technical output and don't worry if it much of it doesn't make sense):
http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/kindle-fire-ics/
[NOTE: I've now highlighted items in green which are good and some red items still to be fixed.]
2nd post has the current status in more detail
UPDATED 4/7
WORKING -- WILL NEED TESTING:
EXT4 MMC Filesystem Access
USB Android Gadget with modes like ADB and MTP (Do we want mass storage also?)
Battery / Charger Driver
Display driver / SGX / ION now plays nice w/ 512M memory (originally the 3.0 kernel was hard coded for 1G of memory)
Touchscreen is working
Sensors are working to detect tilt / movement
Power button working (no colored leds yet)
New Audio driver from TI is working (thanks nook_lover!)
Headset output / recording
Internal media partition mount
Ducati binary is being loading by the system now and the OMX server is starting -- NEEDS TESTING -- probably still won't work -- but its progress towards hardware codecs
PARTIALLY WORKING:
New Backlight Driver is now partially working. Won't adjust brightness yet, but it's coming.
:| Wireless device and driver is being recognized. Still troubleshooting.
STILL BROKEN:
:/ Color Changing Power Button Leds - Old Driver needs to be updated
FUTURE CHANGES IF NECESSARY:
- Touchscreen Driver has a newer straight Linux driver available which would need minor Android customization (current driver seems ok for now)
- Charger Driver has a newer straight Linux driver available which could be customized for Android (will probably do this one eventually. The current charger driver is very messy)
- Battery Gauge has a generic 3.0 android driver available. It would need minor customization (may or may not rewrite this one eventually)
Glad to hear it's coming along well. Keep up the good work!
Great news. Waiting for the kernel

I'm not sure. The kernel source usb driver does seem to have OTG, but I have not tried it. I'm may not be enabled for some reason.
Look in this Service manual scheme on page #23. It will answer to your question.
In general the ansewer is no.
Acer A100 Support USB with ADK.
more info about Android ADK
http://androidcontrol.blogspot.com/2012/05/beginning-android-adk-with-arduino.html
I realize this thread is a bit old and didn't really go anywhere, but if you check dmesg, you can see that the A100 uses USB 2.0 internally for its own devices. (E.g. pl2303, UVC, etc.) So that might mean if you can find the right points, you could theoretically tap into a USB 2.0 bus. No idea how useful that might be.

http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/model-datasheet/LC.DCK0A.002
http://android.sztupy.hu/usbhub.html
It should be possible:
I might also try to create kernels for other devices if the following are true:
The kernel source is avialable on github. It is either a kernel for gingerbread (>=2.6.35) or for ICS (>=3.0)
It contains (or has links to) the initramfs and all the other files needed to create an update.
If creating the update is not straightforward I also need a script to do this for me
After the update is made I need someone with the device to test it for me. If the feedback is positive I'll build versions for that device too, whenever something is changed.

Everything is there to do it, just not hooked up. It's been discussed over and over again. It's enabled in the linux society kernel, it's based on the ezt20 kernel but had quite a bit more done to it, I probably should have said which kernel. Well I never verified it, he just said it was enabled at the kernel so it was something else stopping usb host. The CM9 kernel may also have it as it was shared with the a500 which did have usb host, just a different defconfig used.
If you want to read those sheets then dig through the forum for them, there was a post for it a long while back, or even Google for a minute will find you the specs and manual for it which includes all the hardware used. It won't help as the parts listing will give device information that says it should have usb host, but it doesn't, it's not connected for some reason.

What was your solution?
I am also looking for a car based rom but don't want to pay to get timur's
I bought into the timurs but when I tried to go back to stock - I cleared the rom and wiped the tablet to go to stock- I wiped everything and bricked the tablet. My computer didnt recognize the tablet in bootloader or twrp mode...Oh well. I am waiting for my other tablet to arrive to see if I can finally do it. As far as the question"...to timur or not to timur?" I couldn't tell you but the biggest complaint that I see while using the experimentalx is the recognition of the dac Which in my application makes the world of difference since everything is going to go through the dac - as far as audio. Another cool feature is its ability to recognize the reverse input through my camera. It switches to your backup camera app once the kernel detects power on the camera. Again, I have yet to test ANY of it out. Sorry I couldnt help anymore. it really all depends on what features you are looking for. Just as a comparision, I am gonna run the following: dac, 2 hubs, fm, back up cam, extra usb extension, flash drive for music, flash drive for video, and mic. Still trying to see if I can find a usb fan that is controllable via an app If it plugged into one of the hubs. Good luck...let me know what works for you.
Let's hope someone could share the Timur Kernel.
He said with his words that it is completely legit to share his source and kernel. He was just not willing to do it.
As the nexus is getting old. People who would like to donate has already done.
BTW, can you please share if you can get OTG & Charge to work together under elementalX without having to re-plug the mini-usb everytime?
Thanks.
