[WELCOME TO YOUR GALAXY S2 PORTAL]
GREETINGS ALL FELLOW GALAXY S2 OWNERS!
I used to own a vibrant and that development section had a "bible / directory" thread, and i noticed our lovely little device didn't have one, and always wanted to contribute back! I hope this helps, I'll do my best to keep it up to date as new roms, kernels, etc come out. You might see this post half-finished because it's just literally going to take a bit to finish making sure all of the information is added and accurate.
If you find that I've put the wrong rom in the wrong version number, please pm me and I'll fix it as soon as I can. If you find that something here is inaccurate as well please pm me!
It's also going to take me quite a chunk of my time to do this, so if I've saved you some consider donating me coffee money while I write this out :)

Very nice. Anyone know where this SkyRocket kernel is that I keep hearing about? It is supposedly compatible with cm7 roms. I did not see it under kernels so that is why I ask.

Right there^ It works, but your rotation will be off by 90 degrees so you'll have to turn auto rotate off.

Btw great thread only thing i would add is to separate the Touchwiz kernels from the AOSP kernels (even though there's only like one lol)

Thanks for the suggestion, and I agree! I'll do that now. If I'm wrong on any of their compatibility give me a holler
FYI, it's AOSP not ASOP.
Great work.
Might want to include the Skyrocket forum ROMs as well, since as I understand it, they're fully compatible. If you do so, could also include a little blurb about how they're compatible.
Only other thing I might think should be included is rooting information. I recall that we can root using Zerg Rush in addition to flashing a pre-rooted ROM via ODIN, and that isn't documented in the thread in General.
I believe this kernel is not compatible with AOSP.
Hercules[2.6.35.14](v0.0.7)OC~1.73GHz/GPU OC/OTG/UV/SLQB/Power Saving[Jan-08]
It is for Samsung based roms only.
Maybe add the skyrocket kernel to the list of AOSP compatible kernels so we can have more than one to choose from for AOSP? Might as well.
Great work I did one of these for the G1 called the Rom Bible they are so helpful. Great work and thanks.
You should make a spot for helpful guides like how to root and my guide to set up your Linux box to build cm7.and others.

AOSP *Fixed lol... I always say "ay-sop" in real life
I plan on adding a guides section as well, and also a mods section. Once that's done I was going to clean it up a little more and make it even more organized. Definitely gonna hook it up. So far with writing it out on paper on how I want the thread to be, double checking dates etc. It's taken me over like 10 hours of work split over two days. Hoping when it's nice and polished everyone will like!
It would be cool to have the radios also. Odin and flashables.

I have recently gotten the Samsung s3 for At&t (i747 i believe) and all I am looking for is a Rom that is 4.1 or 4.2 with the stock att/samsung bloatware removed and maybe some speed/battery tweaks. Ive tried the CM rom but i dont want all that, just the simple stock look. Ive loked around but my head is spinning from all the different ROM choice. Thanks for any help.
Try slimbean, it's nice looking fast and overall pretty good

Is there like an AOI thread for S3 custom roms? This just seems to be all over the place compared to like the Kindle Fire where I found several indepth AOI threads.
As for stock roms they have Jedi Invasion, Serenity, and i think Ultimatum. I think most of them don't really have any bugs but i would read up on them before flashing anyone of them
If you're happy with stock except for the bloat, you could just install Titanium Backup and use it to freeze the bloat apps that you want to get rid of; that way, you don't have to worry about anyone's definition of bloat but your own.
Do a search in the GSIII Android Development forum for "CSROM" (CS = Clean Slate). It has almost all Samsung stuff removed so it's very lightweight and incredibly stable. I've tried a bunch and I think I'll be sticking with this one for a while.
Try LoserRom
My personal favorite is LoserRom. It is the closest thing I have tried to stock, also it is based on the official AT&T 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033093
Jedi Rom is good but it's a T-Mobile port and I dislike the 5x5 TwLauncher, although I believe the dev provides a separate flashable 4x4 TwLauncher if I am not mistaken.
Also, you may try BlackJelly, another super close to Stock official AT&T 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update. I believe this one also has the 5x5 launcher, and this one is heavily themed and looks pretty cool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883845

I rooted my phone with rooted stock rom
Then downloaded App Quarantine. This app can freeze bloatware.
Good luck.

Triune II: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796502 (I think it's like a stock rom)
Jellybam: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2053699 (it has a touch wiz launcher but thats about it)
Ariel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846701 (Kind of old, ICS based)
Diet ICS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732195 (Also old)

Does this retain Swype, TouchWiz and allow you to sync with Samsung Kies?

I personally love Aeonfluxx. It does the things you listed with amazing battery life. These forums are great for trying different roms. Don't be afraid to try a few out. Backing up your nandroid through CWM or TWRP will help you fallback on roms you like.
LG Nitro HD Repository
I've noticed that the repository in the Dev section doesn't really get updated very often. So, I'm making a new one that I will keep updated as new ROMs/Mods and root methods come up. If you don't see a ROM/Kernel/Guide listed, let me know and I'll get it on there.

Awesome job. I was thinking about putting an updated repo together for our section, but I decided against it, but yours is great.
Now, I have some constructive criticism and/or ideas for you which you can decide to either use, or ignore.. but here are some of my thoughts.
(I've included info, followed by a link, followed by the bb-code for simple addition to your list, excluding formatting (you can add that :highfive: )
From what I've seen, most of the best roms we have include Adreno libs and GPU Driver Update, so I suggest adding them:
I personally recommend the GPU Update if using CM10.1 (or roms based on it):
Update (GPU) (KGLS) drivers
HTML:
Update (GPU) (KGLS) drivers
The Adreno 220 drivers should be a useful addition, even just for dev purposes if nothing else:
[Driver] Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU ICS Flashable Update {UnSigned}

[Driver] Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU ICS Flashable Update {UnSigned}

And I also suggest including some of the available p930 dev information that you've missed:
Might be obsolete, but might want to throw it in:
[DEV] LG-P930 Source Code- Let the deving begin!
HTML:
[DEV] LG-P930 Source Code- Let the deving begin!
HO!NO! Has a good intro guide to dev for p930:

Also seem to be missing V20e Telus Stock by HO!NO! , or it may be improperly labelled:

It may also be a good idea to include some popular themes and apps.. I love the MIUI x4 Apex/ADW/Go theme, and the Touchwiz 5.0 theme for CM10.1 and there are also several very useful threads, and information in the Android Development and Hacking sub-forum.. Might want to take a look there, and include some of the good info provided there.
As I mentioned above -- and this is just a thought -- I suggest simply copy/pasting the thread title instead of the way you have some of the roms, and such labelled; as they are somewhat misleading to a native English-speaking person (me), so I imagine people less fluent in English may have more trouble finding exactly what they're looking for via this thread. Again, as I said everything I've suggested here are simply that - suggestions. I am not trying to tell you what to include, or how to make a thread, and I hope my tips are useful to you.
Thanks again for taking the time to put up an updated repository, and taking on the responsibility of keeping a thread updated for our section of these awesome forums.
Thanks NFleck! I've added the ones you listed to the repository. I'll go through and find the popular apps and such when I have more time.

I'm terribly puzzled
I've have spent 16-19 hours on my computer trying to find the best Rom for my LG Nitro HD. I have explored each and every thread above read and studied the comments one by one, over and over again trying to find a good and stable Rom. probably one that works fine. fast and smooth. I'm a complete android noob, android is not common were I'm from in Africa. People here prefer Blackberry and Nokia Asha phones so all I have is you guys to help me. I know there is no perfect ROM out here, there is always one issue or the other. when i was going through the threads i got confused so confused that i cant make any decision. I have not installed and tested any Rom before. I don't want to risk and use my phone for experiment. I use LG Nitro HD AT&T Unlocked. Please guys tell me which Rom that has Good-Normal battery life, sensitive digitizer, smooth and fast, less random crashes, application compatible, Bluetooth and data working, camera and 1080p video recording working and most of all does not require unbrick process. May not be as good as what i listed above but anything close to that will be well appreciated. Please help a brother. You guys are way far better and experienced than I am. I know how to install Roms, Root ETC. dont need to teach me. Please all I need is suggestions.

I'll hit the most important point first; the need to unbrick. If you are running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) then you will not have to unbrick; merely flash CWM once you are rooted. If you are running an official 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, I regret to inform you that you will indeed be required to unbrick. No way around that and it's really not as hard as it looks.
My answer is going to be quite general as the important qualities are fairly static from ROM to ROM. That being said, the ICS and CM9 ROMs will likely be your best bet as far as stability and battery life go. CM10 and up seem to be fairly stable as well but go through battery much faster than ICS. For the most part, the other qualities you have listed are quite close to being equal across the board. Some may be smoother than others, but in my honest opinion, the differences between ROMs - outside of battery life and 'bells and whistles' - is negligible and tends to come down more to personal preference.

Thanks for the reply. I'm running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread)/ Rooted. did CM9 Roms Eliminated the the Lag that comes with LG Nitro HD. I noticed that the phone doesn't run so smooth compared to other dual core phones (Skyrocket, ETC) and the screen digitizer does not register your touch so easily. Did any of these Rom tackle the matter? I'm ok with just the normal Battery life. I'm thinking of Liquid Nitro. On your opinion Does it seem to work for you?
The whole development and original development having different threads is confusing, could someone point me into the direction of an optimized stock based ROM (Deodexed and the like.?) perhaps similar to ARHD?
Anything you highly recommend?
I just unsoftbricked my friend's sgs3 after he did some bad flashes or something else weird, thankfully ODIN worked fine. He was trying to switch back to stock rooted from Liquidsmooth, I suggested Carbon but he wants something stock/stock-based apparently. If nothing exists I'll put him on stock rooted.
Thanks for any help!

Stock based roms are in android development, aosp roms are in original development. Freeza's rom is stock, clean rom is stock debloated. There are others too, just read each roms OP.
I would also recommend MOAR (Mother of All ROMS) and TPR (The Peoples ROM), both are in android development

TPR: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013463

That's true, thanks for correcting me.
If you're looking for a stock ROM with some mods added in I would suggest MOAR, TPR, or as selfish as it sounds, my ROM. Link below.

I hate having to Google and xda search for kernels so I thought I would must make a thread with a collection of kernels and link to them. I did not make any of these! I am just making a centralized source for our specific 2 devices, as they are the the same (except for the build.prop lines saying T-Mobile and AT&T). If there are any others that aren't here I can easily add them. Otherwise, here they are:

Thanks anyway!

^^ This, it's been done if you would have applied the 1st rule on XDA 'search' you would have known.
Please familiarize yourself with the rules and the search engines. We would appreciate your cooperation in the future.

Hey I apologize for creating a thread instead of asking in the Jedi KK rom thread. But as you can see, I have very fe posts. I believe this is my first post actually. Therefore I am limited to post in the development thread. So my question is, is it possible to flash the |KERNEL| SaberN3Kernel_10.7 || 3.4.75 || OC for all || exFAT | 12/23 from the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 Original Android Development thread over the the Jedi KK Rom for the TMobile Note 3. I searched and found no one asking this question nor anyone referencing it. I know in the changelog it was mentioned it is a work in progress that is meant to keep up with the Jedi Rom, however ptmr3 did not include these features in the new KK Jedi Rom and stated he is still working on the kernel and I did not want to bug such a busy guy based off his threads with a pm. Thanks in advance for any help provided. I also asked because when I flashed this kernel over Jedi V5 I did start having a lot of fc which I tracked mostly to using different xposed modules. A lot of features can double up. But I just like to keep a smooth experience.
A kk rom can not use a 4.3 kernel. Vise versa. Best bet is ask the Dev.

Thanks that is what I was wondering. I could not find for sure if it was a 4.3 kernel only or not.

Noob here too. The Jedi KK rom is quite stable and it's my daily driver for now. I am hoping darthstalker kk will come out soon so I can make comparison. If anyone used both Jedi and Darthstalker in JB version, sure like to hear your thoughts.
