Hi everyone, my name's Chris. I'll be honest, I've been terrified to create an account on this site because there are some horribly impatient individuals here that seem to have zero patience for individuals (like me) who don't spend their waking minutes developing software or hacking. The SGSIIE4GT is the first killer smartphone I've owned, but my efforts on Android Central for answers to my questions go unresolved. So I've bit the bullet, and hoping people on here can help me out. I'm a self-confessed noob, but I'm learning the ropes quickly. Please be kind.
I'm running the UnNamed Rom 2.0.1 and have done my own custom theming using Launcher Pro and stuff. However, there's two things on the ROM that I'd really like to customize/tweak, but can't quite seem to find the answers. I wanted to post this under the actual ROM thread in Development, but XDA said I can't because I'm new. I searched and searched other posts, but can't find my answers.
#1: Is there a tweak or setting or file I can change/add/remove so that I can get rid of the clock display in the status bar? I use SiMi clock on my home and lockscreens, but would like to minimize the crap on the top bar if possible by removing the time display.
#2: The battery icon in the ROM has a % remaining built in, but I'd like to make it white instead of green. I've searched ROM Toolbox (I bought the paid version), but I can't find a 1% icon I like. So (a) is there a way to get more 1% battery options into ROM Toolbox to choose from, or (b) an area where I manually download a 1% battery (apk?) and replace the one in the ROM?
I hope that makes sense. This site is so enormous, I did my best to search for answers prior to posting, but haven't found solutions yet. Can anyone help me or point me to the answers. I appreciate any time and help you're willing to offer me!!
Glad you made it! Check out the app Super Status Bar from the market. It may give you an easy way to handle the clock until you get deep enough in to modify the necessary files to hide it in the stock bar.
I just downloaded it to test and seems to work. The only bad thing is that it also replaces the toggles in the AIO mod already in UnNamed. Looks like it has its own built in. I didn't get too far into it, but may be worth a look.

Oooo, yeah, I had checked that out a couple days ago. That's one of the posts I was able to find somewhere, but altering those toggle switches is a no-go for me. I love having fast access to the flashlight, brightness, airplane, sync, etc. I was guessing maybe there's a system file on the phone that is just the status bar clock and I can delete it.
There is a thread in the app and themes section just for this ROM. Maybe those guys can help you out with the battery...I know there is an AIO Mod that allows you to remove the clock I believe but not sure how stable that mod is on this ROM. They should be able to help you better over there.
Ignore the nasty replies if any and even then, someone will come along and help you.
I have been here for 5 years and I still get nasty replies from some people. It just makes them feel better. You just need to learn how to ignore and move on although 5 years later it still pisses me off! lol
Posted something for you in the UnNamed theme thread. The guys over there are doing some good work on customizing some stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if someone can help out. Good luck!

I appreciate the insight . I always try to keep my cool and help people out if I know something they don't, but going through some of the threads on here about this phone is very intimidating. I definitely would have posted my questions in the actual ROM thread, but because I'm new, XDA didn't let me post it there, so I figured the next best place was general Q&A. But thanks for the suggestion!!! Seriously, thank you for at least being nice and not trying to put me down since I'm a bit of a noob. Thanks!!

Oh man, yeah that would be sick!!! Being the E4GT is my first quality smartphone, I've really tried to learn as much as possible before I post questions. You won't hear any pressure from me to make it work, as I'm sure this is something that many UnNamed runners would love to have control over. But that tweak port looks very awesome, and is exactly what I'd be looking for. Thanks for the follow-up. You are very active with the UnNamed ROM threads, and I think I speak for everyone when I say how much we all appreciate the continued support. You da man!!!!

Just curious - if I find a set of 1% battery icons I really like (or heck, even make my own using MS Paint and saving as a png file), can I put them onto the phone somehow so they can replace the stock green UnNamed battery icons with the %s? Full sets of 1% icons (100+ pictures) are hard to find. Does anyone know of a site that I can sift and filter through to find ones I like? I can't be the only person wanting a great set of 1% icons to choose from.....
Thanks!!

I usually am somewhere between cm7 nightlies and Mikfroyo, but the other day I was feeling like trying something new and flashed the current Miui. I liked most of the features, but the battery bar that goes across the whole top of the screen really caught my eye. I was wondering if there was any way to use that in other roms? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
EDIT*: thanks to pvyParts, it is possible. Go look at his thread here
I asked this same question a while back, never got a responce. Hopefully this time we get good news

I haven't used miui so I don't know exactly what you are talking about, but you could start by unzipping the framework-res.apk and looking around in there. Maybe you could provide a pic so I could get idea of what all might be involved?

Its a line that goes all the way across the top of the screen, it moves from right to left and changes color when the battery runs down. Id like to see this on my ROM too
winmo used to have something like this.
For anyone who doesn't know about the top-bar battery, here's a screenshot. And anyone trying to judge MIUI completely by this shot, keep in mind that this is a fresh install, and I haven't set it up yet.

The picture says it all. The battery meter across the top looks sexy to me (and other people apparently).
I will look around the .apk and see if I can find anything, thanks.
I am willing to do the legwork, if only I knew where the original file is located. I think we are on to something . Again, thanks for any information. I'll update tomorrow night if I find something useful.
But please, feel free to add any information that you might have.

I apologize for the newb question, but what do you mean? Is this part of the proprietary code involved with Miui? If so, it sounds like we are SOL..
Yes it is. This would be very hard to port because it is closed source.

yeah, it's gonna be hard, hard coded into the firmware would make that battery bar a permanent fixture, would be there through any rom flash, even show up in recovery or fastboot
that was indeed an option in the old WinMo 6.1/6.5.x "Kitchens"
i hated it =P
still unsure of it, but cool to see it here, didn't notice it when i last ran MIUI but that was the early Jan. release. My biggest complaint with MIUI is that all the settings are different(the actual menus themselves) ... nit picky perhaps but other than that MIUI is a p.sweet rom.
Yeah that looks to be more deeply embedded than a couple png changes. You would probably need to figure out what files manipulate the size and screen orientation of the battery meter. If you are serious about getting it, you could compare the miui build before that battery was implemented with the first version of miui that had the new battery. Using diff software you might be able to find all the battery changes.

Might be hard to get a version of MIUI without the top-bar battery. It's been in there since at least October, when I started using it.
As for the person wondering if you're SOL, the MIUI team had to add it with no examples or code, so it could be done in CM. It's just a matter of finding someone who's willing to do it from scratch.

I would be.
If only I knew how lol
Well I've looked around the framework-Res and I think I found the .pngs and the .XML file associated with the icon. But I can't see how it works. The XML is only 3 lines and doesn't seem like it would be animated when charging. But I don't have a good understanding of how it works and could be way off. Anyone else have a chance to look around? Or maybe have some ideas? Anything helps
Animated .png files? For that matter, it seems to me that the top battery could be made up of a bunch of small .png images: maybe like a 10x2 .png or something, placed next to each other across the top bar to do the battery level. The "animation" you see could be a script just moving one of those small images across the top bar to where the battery level currently is, also controlling acceleration and the like.
Just throwing a wild guess out there, but it would help if we knew what those .png files looked like.
*madly hoping something like this could be brought over to Sense* If it could, I'd permanently stick with Sense for quite a while, especially the new Sense coming out.
edit: cleared up the post a bit now that I'm not half-asleep...

I think this is it. If you get a chance to watch it charge, you'll see that a small "dot" or "particle" of the bar moves in from the right edge of the screen to the rest of the line.
For anyone trying to port this, if you haven't done so already, you should flash MIUI, change the battery to top-bar (menu -> settings -> system -> battery settings), and use it for a while. Make sure to put the phone on the charger and watch the animation for a bit, too.
When I have more time I'll go digging around... Which directory did you find those files in, Bamba?
edit: since it's a solid color (two technically, if you count the "low battery" color) I'm wondering if it's just a single .png that just gets resized based on battery percentage. alogcat gives the following message when I switch back to the top-bar battery, maybe that would be somewhere to look in... (If I had root explorer I would look myself, but saving up for Pokemon Black and White means not as much money right now)
Code:
E/BatteryStatsImpl( 310): java.io.FileNotFoundException: /sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_now (No such file or directory)

I thought it would be grate to have a spot, were we clould ask questions to Clark44 about his Rom FreeGS3 v0.0.7 7-27-12
I am a realy Big fan since version 7 the Installer shows so much spunk!!!
I realy think keeping everything for Clark44 in one spot will help him in further creation of his rom.
After spending time with this rom all i can think about is how do I donate to keep it going?
I can not wait for the themes to come out for this Rom.
***First question Clark. May I use Setcpu and Ram Manager with your Rom?

goo rom manager question
I do not want to loose the abilty to save recoveries to my extSdCard. So I am afraid to switch from CWM version that i am using.
The question is, can we use the Goo Manager to download the zip then use the CWM to flash it ?
I am just not sure if it packed and repack the same way.
Youtube isn't working when I'm on the go, using my 3g. But it works fine when I connect to Wifi. Maybe I did something wrong or maybe it just my phone?

No S-Voice options please
The installer is very cool. This is now my goto build for installing modems, I can install them at install then update PRL with one build.
I can't live with S-voice though, it just can't call the people I want and... don't get me started on it.
I hoped choosing not to install the removed Samsung apps would include S-voice but I still get it when I make a BT voice dial.
Is there any way to have the option to not have S-voice and use Google voice instead?
Thanks!
Thanks for posting this thread! I can't post in the dev forums yet (too new) so I had no way to get into the conversation.
I've got two questions.
1. Is anyone using JuiceDefender with this Rom? I'm used to it from my Samsung Galaxy Epic, but I wasn't sure if it's needed on this ROM. I like some of the features (Location aware Wifi, etc) but maybe not if it's sacrificing battery.
2. (For Clark) On version .8, is there any way to build in some of the color/theme options from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28676439 ? I'm not a big fan of green, so I would love to change the colors of the battery and the 15 toggles...
Thanks!

Well, I think it depends on how you use your phone. For me at least, JuiceDefender has helped out TREMENDOUSLY. I live in an area with bad reception and I'm constantly going in and out of roaming. Having all my data turned off while I'm not using the phone really helps boost my battery life (and not having to do so manually is worth the $5 in my opinion).
Without JD I'm at about 10-15% when I get home from work (10 hr work days). With JD I'm at about 30% when I get home.
I guess everyone's mileage may vary, but if you've already bought JD you might as well try and see if it helps your battery life.
side note: I also love the night tint in JD
I've actually got a couple of questions with this ROM.
First, though, I have to say this is a phenomenal ROM. I initially flashed it solely as a stop-gap while waiting for CM10 to come out for my Sprint GSIII, but it quickly has become my daily driver.
So with the installer on the 0.0.7 version, there are multiple radios. Is there any advantage in flashing one of those, or just leaving it be? Also I really like the CRT animations and beats audio, but it wasn't there in the 0.0.7 version, so I just went with 0.0.6. Is there a way to get it on the 0.0.7 version or have those features been disabled? I went off the video review on youtube, linked but for some reason, on my version, little to no features were on mine compared to the review video. Is there a way to enable them on the newest version? Thanks.
It got lost on the main thread, but awesome beats will be back in .8 (he forgot to put it in .7) and crt was broken by Samsung

Nice thread you guys have going on here
As for themeing. Let me explain how im going to have this system setup at latest by v0.0.9.
I've done some research and finally found an app that will do the following:
1. Notify when update is available
2. Allow user to download themes, bootanimations, apps, flashables, all within the app and all supplied by me.
3. Allow the user to read the changelog of upcoming buids on the go.
The link to this app is here
Now i already started migrating the boot animation option i already finished in Aroma installer into this app and that should be done very soon. Themers will also be able to send me whatever they make and i can make it an option in the app!
This will benefit us in the following:
1. Aroma installer stays and installs kernels, modems, and mods
2. ROM size doesn't go up to 2GB when i add in all the themes ect. (Size will always be around 860)
3. Users can change their theme and UI mods on the go without having to reinstall the ROM.
I'm trying to make customization available without having to reinstall the entire ROM. This will give us the best of both worlds.
I'm working on this as we speak so I might dissapear from XDA for a little bit while i stay on my train of thought But in spite of everything...this is going to get a whole lot better.

I'm working on this as we speak so I might dissapear from XDA for a little bit while i stay on my train of thought But in spite of everything...this is going to get a whole lot better.

Will CRT return in the 0.0.8 release? Also what is the deal with all the different types of radios in the aroma installer?

No on CRT, see back a page or two with a draft of the mods in next release.
The radio's are the different modems you can choose, there have been three releases (updates) and the original that came with the phone. That is what the radios are.

Are there any advantages/disadvantages in flashing a different modem to the phone? It seems to be a consensus that LF9 gives better signal, but I'm afraid for the drawbacks.
Downloading .8 now. Very excited.
Clark, I have a small request for .9.
Any chance you can add on my favorite bootanimation from my Samsung Epic days?
It's the third link found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033274
(I'm also a big fan of the blue shutdown animation, but that's not nearly as big of a priority.)
Thanks!
I don't see the video icon when using Google Talk. I used to have it before I flash 0.0.8. Any ideas, I can get it back? Thanks

This thread was originally posted over on the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 forums (links in my sig), and after a good deal of success on both devices, I decided (with a lot of nudging lol) to post this here in the Nexus 7 forums too. I own a Nexus 7 with PA 3.0 installed, and so I can test everything and so far have had no issues. Also, because of the different screen size of the Nexus 7, I think the icons are a little small. Others who've tried these on their N7 don't seem to mind, so please let me know what you think. If they're too small for your liking, I'll work on making them bigger. I'm ""trying" to keep one APK for each theme to work across all devices.
Many of you are like me and have been looking for 1% battery increments on the amazing Paranoid Android ROM. The devs have been working so hard on making the rest of the ROM great for us that they just haven't had a chance to add battery %. So I've made several themes for just that purpose! I know you can install one of thousands of themes out there that add battery %, but I have always been partial to the stock look of ICS and JB, so my themes will only add battery percent icons, nothing more. They apply via the built-in theme manager, so no flashing required! Just download the theme(s) you want from the attachments below and install/apply like always. Also, please swing by this thread and hit the thanks button on the OP, ATTACK. It's his icon pack that has made most of these (maybe all) possible, given my rather limited photoshop skills. He OK'd the use of the icons, but I'd like to give him "something" back.
I've got 14 themes now.

Each theme of icons can be installed side by side on the same device. This way, if you want to change between different icons, you have the ability to do just that, without uninstalling or reinstalling anything. Also, the battery icons in the screenshot are a little bigger than they are now. I had an issue where the icons were slightly larger than the surrounding icons, but that's fixed. I just need new screenshots..........
Disclaimers/Warnings:
*This is my first attempt at theming, but they have been running perfectly fine on myriad Paranoid Galaxy Nexus', Nexus 4's, and my own Nexus 7 (as well as some other N7's people have installed on) and I have had no actual problems in performance or function reported by anybody in either forum, besides the normal bumps in the road any mod/theme will encounter. However, if for some reason you run into problems (themes won't apply, tablet dies, ROM borked, dragons flying out of the charging port, etc... ), I am not responsible. I will help you however I can, though. I honestly can't think of anything this theme could do to your phone anyway, but you never know.
*MAKE A BACKUP! I know that sounds silly for a theme, but since this is my first try, I suggest you have a backup just in case. So far I've had a good bit of downloads and comments in the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 threads, and I think it's safe to say its stable. Still, make a backup just in case.
*The theme works in all standard UI modes, (phone, phablet, various tablet) but I can't test every configuration out there. If you have issues let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.
*You will most likely get the "This theme is missing assets for your screen size" message, but hit apply anyway. Almost every theme I've ever seen throws this message, but it doesn't affect anything in these themes.
*It should work on each version of PA that comes out, but there is a chance something will change to break it. I'm really not sure. I'll test when each version comes out, until there's no more demand for this theme.
*These are designed for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, and now Nexus 7, each running Paranoid Android 3.0. However, I've had several reports that they work on other devices and other ROMs, so you're welcome to try it. PA is the only ROM it is being tested on, however.
Thanks for looking, and if anybody has any issues or requests, feel free to let me know!! Any and all feedback is welcomed and encouraged! Enjoy!
Changelog:
-Starting Nexus 7 forum at version 1.2, which is current as of 2/20/13

-Updated CM Thin theme to 1.2.1 because of a bad preview image (2/28/13)
-Added Digital Theme (2/28/13)
-Added SGS3 and Percent Numbers themes (3/2/13)
Credits
-The ParanoidAndroid team for the amazing ROM for which this theme is designed
-ATTACK for posting the icon package and giving me permission to use them
-ben.nesheim for testing and helping
-Titanic_fanatic, djdarkknight96, and TUN_SD for helping me figure out this themeing thing (well, as much as I know, at least, lol)
-Kick-Ass Joe for testing on Nexus 4 and reporting it working
-Uh60m Pilot for the final nudge to get me to post the themes here

ICS Circle looks really good. Thank you for this! :good:
I've changed the OP in each of my threads now, cleaning them up just a little, mostly the previews and uploads. My themes are no longer hosted on XDA, but instead are hosted on my Dropbox account. This way I don't have to upload them in 3 different threads everytime I have a new one or make a change. It's more of a copy-paste deal now. This has done better than I ever really anticipated, and so I never really thought I'd have as much on the OP's. I was actually running out of upload slots in the original thread lol. I read that the limit on Dropbox accounts is 20GB/day so I really don't think this will ever reach THAT level of popularity (I think I figured it would take something like 1816 downloads on each theme per day to reach that traffic) but if anybody has issues with downloads, I'll find someplace else to host the files. Worst case, I'll go back to putting them on XDA as attachments and maybe get a mod to add a post or two for me at the beginning of the thread, since I didn't have foresight enough to reserve them. (doh!)
Thank you all for the kind words, feedback, and even requests! This has been an awesome experience for me, and I am excited to keep working on it, even as simple as these are! Those of you who have made requests that I haven't fulfilled yet, I am working on it. Just a couple out there I think.... Those that I haven't been able to fulfill your requests, I apologize. I am really still a noob here, but it's a great learning experience!!!

I think there's a digital icon set in that icon pack. I'll check but I should be able to make it, no problem.

I want to try to make a apk theme that does battery icon and the soft buttons for navigation.

Sorry I took so long to answer, I've been working long hours but that's done now so I can finally catch up. I don't have any guides, what I did was download a theme that has EVERYTHING themed, decompiled it, and just started looking through the files. That taught me enough to understand the basics of what was going on, then I started Googling for specific questions. When I hit an impasse, I went to this thread for some help. The guys there were extremely helpful. After they got me started, I still had some issues but Google got me through those as well. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer what I can, but if you rank noobness from 1-10, 10 being expert, I'm still like a 2.5..........lol
To learn the battery icons you can decompile one of my themes and look at how it works. That is probably easier than trying to figure it out from scratch or looking at a full theme like I did. The soft buttons "should" work relatively the same. Let me know if you need anything!

OK, your digital theme is up in the OP now. Let me know if that's what you want. Also, what do you think of the charging animation? After I compiled it I think it may be a little too fast when it hits 100, so let me know if you like it or want it a little slower.....
Sorry it took me so long, been busy with work.
Bigger font?
Thanks for the great work. Could you tell me how to enlarge the font? I'm using the roboto one. The clock font is way bigger, if I could make them about the same that would be awesome.

To make them bigger the right way I need to remake the icons. I have a lot of work I'm doing this weekend on new themes and stuff like that, but I'd like to try and make those icons bigger too. I was copying the style on another theme and the text icons in it were a smaller size vertically than the others I've got, but bigger horizontally. I didn't want to mess up the horizontal spacing so I left it the same. I attached an older version to this post, the icons on this theme show up a little bigger than the newer version on the phone, due to a change I made. The actual icons are the same size, it's just the phone resizes them differently. That might work for you until I get the icons remade. You'll have to uninstall the version you have, then install this version. I don't think it will install over the other since it's an older version. Let me know what you think, though I still want to remake the icons.......

The reason the thread is closed is not because the developer is angry at all or anything like that. He no longer has the time to support the ROMs at the moment, I was suspicious to to the ROM's disappearance but was alerted he posted the reason he closed development on his G+. This ROM was taken offline when the new one came up, that's all. Thanks OP.

Wowowow i did ask, i contacted Ramsay and did not get a response and did not even know what happened until i check my google and facebook, however, and i will say i did NOT get explicit permission, Ramsey has NEVER cared and i do NOT expect him to get back to me any time soon because of whats going on. They were just looking out for the dev is all. All too often people will post someone else's work without asking first, sometimes they give proper cred, sometimes they don't. But the decent thing regardless of your intentions is to ask first, which you said you did. And thank you for clarifying that btw.
Tbh, after reading the OP, I thought the exact same thing. Always do when it's not mentioned. You obviously appreciate the devs work on this Rom, and saranhai was simply looking out for them and their interests. I don't believe it was meant as accusatory at all.
Anyway, just thought I'd offer up a bit of explanation. Thanks for posting this, I know a lot of people are going to be very pleased to see it here!

Yea i get it i jut dont understand 2 things..
1. All his work EVERYTHING is up for download, so couldnt i just modify a few settings, add some wall papers, maybe some of your Modem tweaks as default and this would qualify at least as S3 Development.
2. So because the thanks was in regular text size and not colored that doesnt count as thanks !? The hassle i went through to put this togther and the 2-4 days waiting for a reply for Ramsay...(i put thanks to him and his team on the top and bottom of the post when i FIRST posted it... i even posted PICTURES OF THE GUYS AT THE BOTTOM).
Im stressed, Im active duty military and tried to something nice for these people on my time off. -.-"

Wow this ROM is amazing! I've tried cm10, liquidsmooth, and pacman countless times, but this rom is perfection. Thanks for the link, I wanted to try 4.3 illusion but it seems extremely buggy. I too have not found any bugs on this rom yet (finger crossed), not bad for a discontinued beta. I wish they would of continued working on 4.3

Trust me, your putting this up is very much appreciated! And don't let any of us add to your stress level, try to remember that in these posts, tone is near impossible to convey perfectly. If someone is going to verbally attack though, you'll know it. There are lots of times our posts are short and pointed, but it's simply because we already do a lot here and just want to make the point and move on. I promise you that nothing said here so far was meant personally or negatively at all. To me, xda can be a great place to escape real life for a while and still be constructive with your time. I hope this proves true for you as well!
As to your questions:
1. It's kind of hard to say tbh. Technically it's probably not considered development if you just make some minor changes/improvements, tweaks, and do a bit of theming to an existing, previously developed Rom. I think it would probably have to be determined by the amount of modification you do. Maybe someone else can chime in on this one, or you could always ask a mod what they think.
I've seen some releases in the development section that definitely would not meet the criteria, so once you implement some changes and make it yours, so to speak, I wouldn't see it as any kind of problem to move it there. Until then it will probably be viewed as more of a support thread though.
2. The part that was in question wasn't with how you thanked and gave credit to the dev. You did perfectly fine on that. The thing we didn't see addressed was whether or not you sought permission from them before posting. Knowing now that you did, it's not an issue at all. But there have been plenty of times where someone would post someone else's work, and give proper credit to the dev, but never asked if they were ok with them posting it. Even though their intentions in some instances were pure, it often would end up with the dev getting pissed and the thread being closed or removed.
Speaking for myself, whenever I see something familiar posted by someone other than the original developers, I automatically wonder if they got permission to do so. And if it's not stated, I or someone else will ask. It's not to be mean or to cause problems, but more to prevent them, and as stated, to look out for the devs interests. None of us wants to see them leave due to lack of respect or common courtesy.
Getting too long so I'll leave it at that! Thanks again!
This all being said, I've been working on speeding up and prolonging battery life. It's already smooth, so I'm just going to squeeze as much battery life out of it as possible. I will either release files you can push, or a .zip depending on everyone's preferences. That being said, battery life was nice, 4hrs, 30 minutes off my first charge cycle of on screen time. I'll upload the pic soon.
1. First line of work is the build.prop
2. Second line of work is within the init.d
3. Third line of work is going to be replacing the kernel with either KT747/Lean
4. Fourth line of work is going to be recommending/including a good inverted GAPPS package

3. Third line of work is going to be replacing the kernel with either KT747/Lean
4. Fourth line of work is going to be recommending/including a good inverted GAPPS package

Yeah, a zip would be great. I have pretty decent battery life already, but any way to squeeze out more would be great. I also use the kt747 kernel, but when I attempted to use the TK mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207286 in conjunction with it, it completely messes up when I try to apply their build.prop mod.

Yeah, TKMod works great! We discovered a couple months ago with the latest release that their modified build.prop was not working for us for some reason. Go ahead and install TKMod but keep your current build.prop. And I use the sysctrl & modified Crossbreader too.
EDIT: from RErick in the above mentioned link-
"Uninstall the build.prop. its not that important. If it doesn't work it doesn't need to be there. Obviously we would Luke for everyone to have it, but its not our pride and joy. If the sysctrl and cross breeder works that's 95 percent of the good stuff"
Works for me!
DEVICE: SGH-T999 + ROM: Illusions 4.2.2 + KERNEL: KT747 - LJ7 + TK Mod 2.4 + Crossbreader = A FREAKIN' BEAST! now Free

Ohh okay nice, but can I ask how did you get init.d installed for the sysctrl mod? Should I use Uni-Init? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933849

Nice bro! I've been rocking your OG TWRP theme since flashing Black Eclipse, but I'm not really huge on red so this chrome look is more my style I did change to Red Eclipse Final, thinking I might want to mix in some of the B&W apks, but I actually like it; it's fairly subtle and looks cool in the settings menu etc. :good:
Hey I don't suppose you ever figured out what was causing the wallpaper or black screen to come up behind the volume panel with your themes? I tried a few minor things myself but nothing successful.
Thanks again for some more of your fine work buddy, I wish I didn't already make a fresh nandroid today (before flashing a couple of the TBO apps)! I want to boot into recovery to check out the theme, but really have no reason to atm

I apreciate it brother... and about the volume screen thing yes I did actually find the problem... it's due to the transperancy framework bg I moded. I have to go back into framework and change one of the true to false when it asks to show wallpaper. I just haven't found the time to attempt to fix it yet. But I'll try and find some time tonight and take a look at it. But if you wanted to try this chrome TWRP theme out all you need to do it just go into the theme folder which is in your TWRP folder and rename the red theme to ui.zip_bak and then copy and paste the chrome theme in there and reboot. Then if you don't like it all you need to do it go back into the TWRP folder and theme folder and delete the chrome ui.zip theme and rename the ui.zip_bak to just ui.zip and it will be red again. But make sure and check back because I'm working on a couple more theme now that I will hopefully have done tonight.
New Toxic Green theme posted... gonna be posting a blue theme next. After that I will be taking requests

@SICKMADE - Oh I already did... I figured that the giving the ol' dalvik and cache couldn't hurt. Ok... I had already wiped it a few times making that nandroid and flashing some dope blacked out / cleard out stock apps. Alright, guess I'm busted I just wanted to check out the theme (which is awesome) and then become SICK MADE again, because I felt like it had worn off a bit from earlier
That's awesome to hear that you found out what's up with the volume panel! I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know what you need to mod in framework. Sounds like the fix is fairly simple once you find what you need to mod. I'll take a look also... but if I come across something that looks like it might be it, I'd send you a PM before trying anything to see if I was on the right track...
It's kind of funny that you said that your next theme would be blue, as that was my first thought. Actually, I got a pretty distinct mental image so I'll describe it. Don't take this as a "request" necessarily, but just a color scheme that I think would look super dope, and knowing your taste somewhat
Ok, the background is dark grey... not solid, but sort of with a "woven" effect, sort of a denim fabric style. I'm also seeing just some light texture, with some sporadic shadows. As for the text / highlights, that Tiffany blue that you sometimes use would look incredible!
I'm quite content with the charcoal theme, so no need to "go out of your way" to make it, but if you think that would look as hot as I do... well whip that one up Great stuff as always my man!

I like the way your going with the new blue theme... if you find some time why don't you look for some cool pattern bgs and some gradients that you like. I was thinking the same thing tho for the framework bg I'm not gonna go just all back for the next theme... I'm gonna go like a darker grey. Also I was really wanting to go with that Tiffany blue so I'm glad you said that . Seems like a lot of people seemed to like it. It's better than that ICS Blue that you always see around. I'm so sick of seeing that! But if you find some time and don't mind helping me out that'd be awesome.
Decided I would release my personal TWRP theme that I use.... It came out so sick I was gonna just keep it to myself! Lol. I hope some people out there enjoy it!

I knew I'd have several in my Wallpapers folder... I was correct I usually have my images ordered descending from last time modified so the most recent are the latest official DynamicKat wallpapers, DLed from the Rom Mart app. There are 2 (out of 3 so far... about 150 total :laugh where I was like, "That one, perfect," HAHA! I'll try to narrow it down to top 5. What's your preference? Crop the grey and attach that? Attach the full images, scaled? Or send (email?) you the full res pics? Happy to help! :good:
Edit: I found a few more nice ones, but my overall favs are these couresy of DynamicKat. The grey textures aren't exactly what I pictured, but I can see it with any of them... I'll post more if I come across anything more like what I imagined. What do you think about the textures on these / have a preference?
Does this work on the galaxy s4 as well? Wasn't sure if since it's twrp if it's universal.
Anybody else having graphical issues with the confirm "sliding" bar on TWRP 2.8.6.0 when using one of these themes? It shows up super odd, and is thusly unusable. Flashing back to 2.8.5.0 works fine with all the themes. I can't take a screeny, hence it is in recovery mode, and unfortunately I do not have another camera to snap a photo with on me at the moment, either. I have the trltetmo. If anybody else would like to try this and see if/confirm they have the same issue (or not), that would be much appreciated. I would love to use SickMade's TWRP theme(s) on the newest version -- all of them are just ill! A heads up: if you try this and run into the same problem I have, the only way to get it back working again is to flash the TWRP 2.8.5.0 .img via Flashify or ODIN the .tar. Just a FYI. Thanks for any and all help, in advance!

I'm not one to *****, usually, but I just want everyone to know I appreciate the replies I've received regarding my issue, two posts above, over a WEEK AGO now. XDA is a place to learn, provide assistance, and receive assistance. The lack of even the slightest reply such as a meager "I'm not sure what to tell you..." simply is enough to speak volumes of how people just truly do not give a rats ass. I'm always one to assist. So it naturally ticks me off when a simple question goes completely ignored for over an entire week. That's all I've got. If anybody wants to "pick a bone" let's take it to PM. Because if anyone is that ignorant to somehow have any "bones to pick" based on my detailed and rightfully-placed agitation, then that would simply show more balls than brains. This is just gross negligence to give even a basic reply up to this point, I feel. That's all. :RantOver:

I apalogize if your post didn't get answered.... I've had some family problems as of late and haven't been able to maintain my threads as much as usual up to this point. But I hope that you worked your issue out and if you still have any questions please feel free to post and I will reply with some answers no problem.
Thank you, @SICKMADE. You are a class act here on XDA. Never was I distinctively pointing any finger at you, please understand. Also, I am sorry to hear about your family, and whatever is going on, I hope and pray heals itself sooner rather than later. Anyway, no, I still cannot get your themes to display correctly on TWRP 2.8.6.0. The sliding/confirm bar is off-center and unusable and a few, more minor graphical glitches I cannot recall at the moment. TWRP 2.8.5.0 shows everything properly and works flawlessly with your goods. I would screenshot it, but don't believe there is a way within recovery...? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks again!

I really appreciate the kind words.... people like you are the only reason that I take the time to share my work in the first place. As for the issue that your having with using my theme on 2.8.6.0 I have not updated to that yet and so don't know of that problem. To take a screenshot all you have to do is press volume down and power at the same time. I will def look into the issue with the new recovery and fix it no prob. I usually never update TWRP once I get on one that is stable without any bugs unless there is a major update that is. Is the latest TWRP running good without any bugs? If so I will update the themes to be compatible.
Thus far, I have noticed no bugs with that version, in and of itself. If anyone else has anything to add, please do chime in.
Dude you freaking rock bro salute.
I followed all the steps on your method and it doesn't change anything on my end.
Keep up the sickwork
